This is for all of those who have been waiting for Dragon Hunter Chapter 6. However this chapter is 'not' complete. This is merely the fight scene between Jace and the four dragons from the last chapter. Note again, this is NOT the full chapter and more or less just a sample. Just to get you all back into reading Dragon Hunter while I get my ass in gear as I have given up on finding those magic beans that magically write my stories for me.

Jace charged forward with no fear, Thri'sa had quickly spread her wings and threw herself into the air as Jace dashed quickly to the right with his left hand gripping his crossbow, the four other dragons that had appeared suddenly having broke their steady flight to spread out in all directions. The dragons seemed to spread out and lock onto Jace and Thri'sa specifically while Cia and Kilika split into two groups, Cia moving with the rest of the furs and humans as they scattered to get into the cover of the surrounding buildings. Kilika sliding into one of the massive holes within the many buildings, disappearing from sight completely and falling silent.

Jace and Thri'sa were not so dedicated to stealth, Thri'sa soaring toward the right toward the furthest dragon, one of the smaller dragons quickly having shifted and soared after her to help bring her down, the other two dragons were the larger of the two. One being completely white while the second was a deep red, nearly appearing to be made out of blood yet Jace took aim without hesitation and let forth an explosive bolt soar toward the larger white dragon yet the dragon did something that many dragons would not, it dodged. As if knowing that the small object would explode on impact the dragon shifted itself through the air to dodge the small bolt, the bolt arced and fell to the ground, exploding on impact with a building causing rubble to fall to the earth.

Jace did not appeared fazed by such an occurrence, the larger of the two dragons taking this chance to soar toward Jace as he stood out in the open, he tossed the crossbow aside with his right hand found the hilt of his axe, swinging it from his right shoulder and spin it around with the long pick on the swinging end. His eyes were locked on the charging dragons eyes as it fell from the sky, the sound of air being sliced through would echo out through the entire city as the dragon dived toward the earth then quickly arched into a straight flight toward Jace. The dragon might have been small in the air but it was huge when faced directly, nearly twice the size of Thri'sa yet not enough to make Jace flinch.

His feet planted firmly on the ground as he glared forward, his eyes now locked on the oncoming dragons without fear, his dark green eyes appeared far more fierce than the red dragons slitted yellow eyes that glared back at the small humans with only the thought of soaring straight through him and leaving his battered and broken body behind without life. Eyes from those hiding within the buildings stared at Jace as he 'played chicken' with the dragon, many of the people screaming out for him to move or for someone to shoot the dragon, even Cia who was on the 'ground' level of the building had yelled out for Jace to get out of the way.

His lips parted and he let forth a battle cry as he lifted his axe up over his right shoulder as the dragon came within thirty feet or so, quickly he shifted to the right while swinging his axe down to the ground to the right of him though as it passed his feet it would quickly shift to the upper left. Jace shoved from the ground and fell down to the right, spinning his body to the left as the dragons head soared over his body, his intention still a mystery until the his axe circled around the dragons head, the extended pick finding its way back behind the dragons jaw on the left side. Having shifted himself to the right to move under the dragons head as well as added a spin to the left to gain even more momentum for his axe as he swung it from his right side back behind him then up to the left, the axe had enough force to slip under the dragons scales into the soft flesh underneath.

The dragon quickly hit the ground in a bone shattering crash, Jace lying on the ash with gritted teeth, the red dragon having his axe stuck firmly behind its jaw on the left side, its eyes wide as it found itself laying limply against the ground. The crash having broken its neck as it landed head first before flipping forward, both of its wings breaking while its left was completely torn off before the dragon rolled on its right side causing both of its right legs to be crushed under its own weight before finding itself on its back with its head turned toward Jace. Jace now on his feet turned his head to the right to look at the grounded dragon, he had learned this from Ja'sha, dragons scales were very strong and small weapons were nothing but useless unless they could be forced under the scales. But all armor has a weakness, dragons were located near the joints where the scales were stretched and when a dragon was in a full charge while in flight only the neck was completely extended making it the weakest point. Yet to simply stab at the dragons throat would be very dangerous as well as time consuming, so to skip through all the activity of attempting to hit the same point on the dragon's neck, simply hit a specific point. Behind the lower jaw is a very sensitive spot on many creatures, dragons were no exception and with a weapon as long as the axe pick, the damage was deep.

Jace found his way to the laying dragon, his right hand gripped his axe before he ripped it out causing the dragon to make a pained noise, Jace however only lifted his axe over his head and slammed the bladed edge of the axe in the exact same place where his pick had pierced, leaving a large gash in the dragons neck. Now with his back to the downed dragon, leaving it to bleed to death as he looked back to the sky to see the other larger white dragons gaze locked onto him, rage apparent in this dragon's scaled face before it let forth a massive roar.

Thri'sa had quickly shifted over the buildings to the right toward the smallest dragon which was the green dragon that had soared toward the right to surround all of those on the ground, Thri'sa knew she was able to handle this dragon without fail. However she did not realize that she was being perused by the bronze dragon until it let forth a roar, Thri'sa's shifted her head to the left slightly to look at the dragon that was behind her, it was near impossible to fight two dragons at the same time in the air so Thri'sa quickly spun to the right and rolled down, dropping dozens of feet before letting her wings open and quickly soar toward the ground. The green and bronze dragons quickly soared after her, the green being the faster of the two so quickly finding itself right beside Thri'sa as it was actually smaller than her, its yellow eyes locked onto her tail, ready to bite it and quickly send Thri'sa to the earth as a dragons tail was one of its main balances for flight.

As its jaws parted Thri'sa quickly raised her wings and shifted them back catching all the wind infront of her which brought her to a complete stop in midair, her hind legs quickly extended out as her tail was quickly pulled up out of the way leaving nothing between the green dragon and Thri'sa's deadly talons that quickly found themselves tearing through the green dragons wings, ripping both in half causing a roar of pure pain to echo over the area as Thri'sa was flipped backwards into a straight dive toward the earth. The green dragon quickly crashed to the earth with the sounds of its bones breaking and twisting into ways that were completely unnatural, Thri'sa having spoken many times with Jace about dragons and combat in midair which was far from as easy as dragons made it look. So many things to take in, how high in the air they were, wind conditions, the dragons movement and speed, however Jace pointed out a very simple thing. 'Take a dragon's wings. You take the dragon.' With that he had helped her develop many ways to combat dragons in midair, specifically aimed at a dragon's wings as well as ways to keep her from going to the earth with the opposing dragon.

Thri'sa soared toward the earth, she was not foolish enough to hesitate to celebrate the joy of grounding one dragon when there were a total of two after her. She quickly spun to the right while throwing her tail under her to force her stomach toward the ground as she spread open her wings to push herself back into flight, moving toward the many buildings as the bronze dragon quickly closed in on her. The attack that she had just done had slowed her tremendously and she would not be able to out fly the bronze dragon so she would have to out maneuver it by quickly dashing around the corners of the buildings. Immediately shifting to the left turning her legs toward the right side as she thrusted her wings down which quickly pushed her toward the left around the corner of the first building, however the bronze dragon appeared to be experienced in flight as it did the same maneuver at a greater speed, having lost nothing as Thri'sa sent the green dragon to its crushing death.

Thri'sa dashed to the right then to the left as she tried to get some distance between her and the bronze dragon, dashing around was fast for maneuver but slow when it came to gaining any speed. Risking a straight break would be very dangerous while attempting the same move she used upon the green dragon might lead to it being turned on her, if the dragon wasn't right upon her tail doing such a move exposed her entire back side, wings and all were completely vulnerable. She would not need to take such a risk however as a roar of pain came from behind her, shifting her gaze back to see Kilika's half way out of one of the massive holes in the building she had just past, the bronze dragon having followed Thri'sa right into Kilika's trap. As Thri'sa soared past where Kilika was hiding, having shifted through the buildings to find the right position, when Thri'sa soared past her she quickly dashed toward with her jaws and right fore paw lashing out. As the bronze dragon's head appeared infront of the large hole Kilika's jaws and right paws talons found themselves firmly sunk into the bronze dragons exposed neck. Once Kilika had a firm grip on the bronze dragons neck she quickly pulled herself back into the large hole in the building with her left fore paw and her hind legs causing all of the other bronze dragons force that was being used to chase Thri'sa to be jerked violently to the left causing its neck to break before Kilika quickly let the dragon go into a sprawling crash to the earth.

Now there were three dead dragons from the original four that had appeared from nowhere, Jace was now standing in the open with his eyes locked onto the white dragons eyes as it remained held in a single place in the air, its eyes wide open in anger. However this dragon did not appear to be a fool, having had enough sense to dodge Jace's explosive bolt and when Thri'sa soared up to Jace to land at his right, Kilika slowly crawling from a hole on the side of a large building to the roof of the same building. Cia now out in the open with Jace as all of her followers also gathered in the open with weapons ready to be unloaded at the large white dragon.

The white dragon parted its jaws and let forth a roar before it shifted around and soared off into the cloud covered sky, Jace next to Thri'sa with Cia behind them and Kilika on the roof to their right, all of the people who followed Cia raising their weapons in the air and letting forth cries of victory. Si'la was like Jace and Cia however, remaining quiet with both eyes locked upon Jace who glared hatefully toward the sky where the white dragon had disappeared, his teeth gritted in rage as Thri'sa's left eye rested upon the small human next to her.

Cia's eyes narrowed as she stared at Jace, it wasn't hard to tell there was more to what just happened than four dragons attacking, she would figure it out but not right now, it was a time to celebrate as far as those behind her were concerned so they would celebrate. She would corner Jace later and get some answers from him, after he calmed down and lost that look of rage in his eyes.
