"Nephilla! Nephilla!"

Nephilla opened her eyes in her dream. She was lying in the middle of a tall grass field. She was one year old again, wearing a t-shirt and shorts. Her dragoness mother was calling for her.

"Yes Mama?"

"Have you seen your sister Sunset?"

Nephilla gasped.

"She said she was going down to the creek to check it out."

"Ummmm... No mama."

Her mom smiled. "Can you go look for her?"

"Yes mama."

Nephilla turned and ran in the directions that her instincts told her that her sister was. The scenery looked so familiar, but Nephilla had no clue of what it was. Getting to the egde of the forest, she launched herself into the canopy and began hopping from branch to branch.

***

Sunset, in her dream, waded through waist deep water. The creek had been deeper than she expected. She pulled herself out of the freezing water onto the shore. Taking off her shorts, she wrung them out.

'I wonder if I can see mom in this dream.'

Suddenly, a blue blur touched down, tripped and swore as it belly flopped into the creek. Sunset laughed, then stopped.

Sitting in the creek was Nephilla, her sister.

"Hi..... Ummmm...... I have no clue what's happening, but someone I think is mama wants me to find you."

Sunset frowned. "Don't you know mama when you see her?"

"Ummmm.... Like I said I have no idea of who's who, or what's going on. I only know you from the real world." Nephilla climbed out of the creek.

"Wait. Did you say real world?"

"Ummm yeah...."

Sunset wanted to cry. "So you're not my sister. You're Hannah right?"

"Well yeah, but mama told to go look for my 'sister' Sunset."

"Could that mean...."

"Might..."

Sunset pushed the thought away. "Oh well. We better get going. Mama will start worring about us."

Nephilla nodded and the two ran back.

***

Nephilla saw her mom sitting on the doorstep as she came out of the forest. Sunset bounded up beside her.

"Are you sure you don't remember anything from being a dragoness before you were human."

"No, nothing at all."

The two skidded and stopped in from of mom.

"Hi mama!" Sunset piped up.

Mom looked both over, smiling. "My, you two are all wet. What happened?"

Nephilla suddenly realized she was acting like she was one again. "Sunset jumped into the creek thinking it was shallow , and, and, and I tripped and fell in it."

"Well you two stay here. I'll go get some towels."

Mom got up and left. Sunset sighed.

"I never want this to end. I miss my mom in real life so much."

"Just to tell you, I had one of these dreams before."

Sunset looked at her, stunned. "What was it of?"

"I was still a baby dragoness, but I think you were in it as well. We took a bath, the drank some of mama's milk."

"I had the exact same dream."

Papa came out of the door holding a plate in one hand and a change of clothes for both and towels in the other. He was a dull olive green and yellow dragon.

"Ok you two, before lunch you need to change so you don't have soggy sandwiches."

"Yes papa."

The two grabbed a change of clothes and stripped down and changed on the spot. They took their peanut butter jelly sandwiches and hungrilly tore into them. They both finished quickly.

Sunset was the first to speak. "Can we go back to the creek?"

Papa smiled. "Yes. But if you two are going swimming, get some swimsuits on."

Sunset ran inside, then came out and tossed a swimsuit to Nephilla.

"We're off papa! Bye!"

Sunset grabbed Nephilla's arm and ran towards the creek.

Sunset was ecstatic. Not only did she see mom and dad, but she could explore her old home and the woods around it.

The two arrived at the creek and changed into their swimsuits. Sunset jumped in.

"So , ummm. This is your home?"

"Yup. I haven't seen it in years since I was forced out of her."

Suddenly a fragment of Nephilla's memory surfaced. A burning house. Her mom screaming at her sister to run for her life. A spell that was cast on her.

Nephilla yelped, clutching her head and fell onto her side at the overload of information.

"Nephilla are you alright?!?!"

"Yeah yeah, I'm fine."

Suddenly a shower of pebbles rained down on the two. Nephilla sat up. A black dragon with another golden dragon stood not too far away. The black dragon made a rude noise, stuck his tounge out and the two were gone.

"Was that....."

"That was Lacyus and Rykuu. We used to live in the same town until he moved out shortly before my house was raided. " Sunset sighed. "I had a crush on Lacyus even though I didn't know his name."

"What did your sister think of the two?"

"Nephilla, not you, had a crush on Rykuu. We should make plans to figure out if this is real. If we are in each other's dream. It could mean that you're my sister."

Nephilla thought for a moment. Then it came to her. "I know! You meet me on the lake shore after we wake up."

"Fine." Sunset smiled mischeiviously. She started wading towards Nephilla

Nephilla backed away. "What are you doing?"

Sunset jumped out of the water and grabbed Nephilla, tossing her into the water. She came up, sputtering.

"We came here to swim right! I thought I'd help you into the water!" Sunset was howling with laughter.

Nephilla couldn't help but laugh as well. Sunset jumped back in and waded over to Nephilla.

"This place isn't deep enough for swimming. Com'on. This creek leads to the ocean. You'll love it there."

***

Nephilla closed her eyes and inhaled the scent of the saltwater. It smelled stronger than that of earth beaches.

Sunset interupted her thoughts. "My sister loved it here. She would sneak out of the house at night just to sleep here in her fort." Sunset pointed towards a shabbily built hut. "Even when it was raining. She said it made the air smell better."

"It does smell and feel good here."

Palm trees were scattered along the sand. The sand was incredibly soft between Nephilla's toes. The water was a perfect blue.

"My parents thought that Nephilla was a water dragon."

"A what dragon?"

"Didn't Lacyus or Rykuu explain to you about the classes of dragons?"

Nephilla shook her head. "Not a clue."

Sunset sighed. "Okay. You've got three classes. Lesser, Elemental, and Greater. Lesser dragons are mostly half dragons. They have almost no ability to use mana, or magic. Elemental dragons are the most common. Lacyus is one. They harness the elements, such as the earth, water, wind, fire, ect. for their own uses. However, they have a limit on how much magic they can use, provided that they are not near an area of their element. I'm a Greater dragon. There are two main types: Divine and Demonic. I'm a Divine Light dragon. I harness light and purity for my spells. There's also Heavendragons. But they are extremely rare. Although there are rumors of Light dragons evolving into Heavendragons. For the Demonic type, you have Shadow and Helldragons. They are known for their ability to literally rip souls from the afterlife and recruit them into their unholy empire. Personaly, I think that's sick and wrong on every level."

Nephilla stared. "So, since you're a Greater dragon, you're more powerful than Lacyus?"

"Theoretically, yes. But Lacyus shapes his spells so he uses less mana for the same effect that I get for an average attack spell for me."

"So what's Lacyus' element?"

"Fire. I dunno what his most powerful attack is yet, but it used to be Sonic Boom, which is just pure energy. It doesn't use an element at all."

"And Water dragons control water, right?"

"Yeah. Hey, why don't you try and cast a couple of spells. Just focus your mind on what you want to achieve."

Nephilla took a deep breath, closed her eyes and focused on manipulating the water. She desperately wanted to know if she was Sunset's sister.

Electricity ran down her spine as she felt something incredibly powerful forming at her fingertips. Instintively she raised her hand, palm facing the sea. Sunset make an odd strangled noise in awe. Nephilla opened her eyes and gasped.

Three huge pillars of water were swirling out of the sea. The tips of Nephilla's fingers were glowing. Sunset's face was completely awestruck.

"Try focusing on making another."

Nephilla, eyes open this time, focused on another pillar. Sure enough a new pillar raised out of the water. Nephilla couldn't believe it. As a human, she was so weak, but now, as a dragoness, she felt the energy of the world flowing through her.

Suddenly, Nephilla felt faint and her hand dropped. Her legs buckled and gave way. Sunset caught her and eased her to the ground. Nephilla tried to get up, but Sunset held her down.

"Rest. You probably used all of your mana doing that."

"But...... I...... Can....... Go........" Nephilla passed out and the dream ended for the both of them.

***

Sunset awoke on Lacyus' lap. Her arms were wrapped around his neck. As she made her first movements, Lacyus woke up. He kissed her gently on the neck.

"You feeling better?"

"Yeah. Much better. Happy birthday Lacyus Akival."

The two shared a deep, passionate kiss. She could feel his tongue playing with hers. Sunset closed her eyes, enjoying the moment. Lacyus pressed her in with his wings, hugging her. She took her tail and spun it around his. They stayed like this for a good amount of time, just cuddling. Finally, she remembered what she had to do.

"I've got to go do something." Sunset got up.

"Should I get breakfast ready?"

Sunset frowned. "It's your birthday. We should be doing stuff for you."

She sprinted down to the lake shore. Rykuu and Nephilla were cuddling there. Sunset blushed.

"Ohh. I'm so sorry for interrupting!"

Nephilla made a "Wait" gesture to Rykuu. She got up and walked over to Sunset.

Nephilla whispered in her ear. "Dream?"

Sunset nodded, stunned.
