Growing Amusement, by DragonMasterX.

It had been so long since Akari had come to Hisui. The world of advanced technology and towering man-made structures seemed like a distant memory now, with only her phone as the sole evidence of her previous life. She had gotten accustomed to a life full of perils but also rewarding adventure, always greeting every new day with a smile and a curious glint in her eye.

Lately however, Akari couldn't stop her thoughts from going back; she was listless. As a top tier member of the Galaxy Survey Corp, Akari's mission seemed to have come to an end. Laventon's Pokédex was complete and Captain Cylene had no more stars to add to Akari's rank. Things had become too calm, too peaceful, too dull. What had Hisui left to offer to Arceus' champion, the one who had saved the world from the machinations of the human who had consorted with Giratina? To the one who had met all manner of Pokémon?

Turning around on her futon, Akari sighed as she noticed a speck of sunlight barely filtering through her window. "It's too early for anybody to be up for a chat. Maybe the Professor..." she sat up and put a hand to her forehead, "...I've listened enough about theories for a while, actually." After pulling her bangs out of the way, Akari reached for her white bandana and tied it around her head, deciding to get dressed and go out for an early morning jog to clear her head.

Akari had gotten so used to running around and hiking in the expedition team's uniform that it felt like second nature to just put it on and go about her day, even if she wasn't necessarily up for excursions. Like she had expected, however, other than the guards keeping wild Pokémon away from Jubilife's entrance, most of the villagers were asleep in their homes. After an uneventful jog around town, Akari found herself back at her humble abode.

Anxiety hadn't dropped. With her God-given mission complete, Akari began to realize she was bored. Her gaze turned to the Pokéball hosting the fragment of Arceus she had received after befriending the all-powerful deity. With all tough battles behind her, she realized she had yet to call upon Arceus for the purpose of defending her. "I'm not sure God would enjoy battles against the wily Bidoofs around here..." Akari chuckled, when a thought then occurred to her.

"Is Arceus bored too? We haven't done much together since we became friends..." she thought aloud. "Wonder if They'll get mad if I hit them up for a chat. I guess I do have some questions for Them..." Akari held the ball in her palm contemplatively, nodded as if giving herself permission and tossed the spherical capsule in the air, summoning the Pokémon God. When it materialized before her eyes, however, something was different than what she remembered...

The first time Akari had seen Arceus was at the beginning of her journey in Hisui. It had appeared to her as a blinding light inside the void she had been sequestered into, and unlike the majority of Pokémon, it had communicated with her with a solemn, all-encompassing voice.

Her second time meeting with the deity had been when Akari had completed its divine mission of meeting every Pokémon in Hisui. A regal, equine shape had appeared before her. Its size so impressive its legs alone were as long as Akari was tall. Arceus' physical form was streamlined with smooth alabaster fur covering the entirety of its magnificent frame except for the dark grey, line-dented skin of its chest, belly and tail. Golden gildings decorated the front of its four legs, while a crisscrossing golden ring snugly hugged its mid-section, the center of its white forehead boasting a golden etch in the shape of an isosceles triangle. Its long neck was covered in the same white fur, fluffing out with a couple of sideway pointed tufts on each side. Arceus' face had looked robotic to Akari: With no mouth or nose, and dark green sclera surrounding; yet its red eyes had struck her as being able to stare into her very soul. With a flowing ponytail-like appendage behind its head, majestic was the only word that could do the kirin any proper justice.

And now, Arceus had yet again changed shape before her very eyes.

As blue light dispersed, the unfamiliar silhouette became clearly defined to Akari. Arceus stood just as tall as before, approximately twice her height; its curving ponytail brushing along the ceiling of her little house. However, its quadruped stance had changed to an upright bipedal configuration. The back of its legs had remained largely the same, but with more defined musculature. The crisscrossing golden ring at its middle had moved to float at Arceus' back, exposing a well-muscled torso equipped with bulging abdominal muscle followed by a couple of dark-grey pectorals. Its front legs had been completely swapped out for humanoid arms full of muscle tone, complete with five-fingered hands covered in thing golden gloves that appeared to be worn like a second skin.

With its towering form looming over the shocked Akari, Arceus gazed down at its human friend and projected its deep, echoing voice out. "Young Akari," the God bowed, "It hath been a time. Thou hast summoned me. Art thou well? Thy complexion appears perturbed."

No matter how many times she heard that spectral voice, Akari could still not get used to the chills going up her spine. Arceus' words appeared to be coming from all directions at once even though it was right in front of her. "It's... uh..." Akari babbled, struggling but finally recouping her composure. "It's so nice to see you again, Arceus. I'm sorry I haven't called upon you. I uh..." she started, quickly finding that her eyes kept wandering away from the deity's to focus on his chest and abs. The girl was suddenly blanking on what she was about to say. She thought she'd strike conversation and take the opportunity to discuss cosmic matters with Arceus, to inquire about the mysteries of the universe and the purpose of life... but all she could do was stare at the kirin hunk in front of her.

Arceus seemed undisturbed at the attention, silently contemplating the flustered human girl. Its first sign of impatience was when tilted its head.

Akari had to ask about the Donphan in the room. "Arceus, you're so different from what I remember!" she finally blurted out, "How did you change your form?"

"Ah... 'tis but simplicity made manifest, young Akari." Arceus' remark carried no arrogance, the matter-of-fact delivery only making sense to Akari when she reconsidered who she was speaking with. "I have bestowed upon thee a fragment of mine self." It brought one of those toned arms up, materializing a ball of pure golden energy above its open palm. With Akari's attention grabbed, Arceus furled a couple of fingers and with that, the ball spread out into a flowery shape; like a blooming lotus.

Above the flower appeared silhouettes of familiar creatures: Dialga, Palkia and Giratina. At first, they appeared in their altered form. "Accessing mine vast power is not something mere mortals may accomplish without proper medium." Orb-like objects appeared above each projection, fusing with the silhouettes when Arceus furled another finger. The three Pokémon had their shapes changed to their original bodies. After the brief demonstration, Arceus unfurled and clutched, scattering the golden light. "However, as thine eyes canst see, I require no such conduit. All of mine fragments art directly connected to the point of origin."

Amazed, Akari was trying to keep up with the explanation and felt the need to ask: "The point of origin?" she repeated.

"Whence I, nay- all of creation sprang forth, young one."

"The origin of all creation..." Akari's eyes lit up with wonder, left speechless for a moment. "How can one um... Pokémon have so much power?"

"I sense disbelief, mine friend. Is it a demonstration thou requirest, perhaps?" a golden glint shone in Arceus' eyes, making Akari flinch and bring her hands up defensively.

"No no! I think you demonstrated plenty in your final trial! Even after stretching I couldn't move my legs and arms for a whole day after that." Akari laughed nervously. "Right so um..." she cleared her throat and added: "Sorry I'm being so awkward. Even after your explanation, I still feel a little shocked at your new form."

"Is it that disturbing?" the God inquired, lifting its arms perpendicular with its shoulders to give itself a good once over: from its golden fingertips to its toned biceps and pectorals. "I came up with this form in eons past, emulating human form in order to approach thy kind with additional ease. Hath mine design dissatisfied?" Arceus asked while flexing its right arm, making its muscles rise with increased bulk.

Akari couldn't hide her blush. "I um... didn't expect you to be so muscular, that's for sure. You have a pretty... masculine form!"

Arceus seemed pensive. "Sexual dimorphism is the way of thy kind, thus I sense thy confusion. Mine form is fluid."

"I... I see," Akari brought a hand up to her mouth, hiding a little gasp. "You can be anything you want."

"Thou wouldst be set at ease with a more clearly defined shape, wouldst thee not?" the God began to change before Akari's eyes. Its muscles seemed to inflate with power as its body took on a bulkier appearance. Pectorals and abs puffed out, with biceps, triceps and deltoids becoming thicker. Legs grew as wide as tree trunks, completing a muscle-bound look that could put a Machoke to shame. The dark grey area below his underbelly started bulging, eliminating any doubt about the creature's gender choice. "Thou may refer to me as male for the time being, young Akari."

Akari flinched once again, eyes widening to the size of saucers. Such a lack of effort, such immediacy! The power her God-like partner commanded was unlike anything she had seen in the Pokémon world. Arceus could transform at will without any condition needing to be fulfilled as far as she could see. "That was impressive! And... wow. I've seen Pokémon use Bulk Up before, but never with this level of bodily impact. It looks permanent..." she observed, following the flawless muscle cord going up from the God's ankles to his long, burly neck.

"It is transient," Arceus corrected. "As I hath explained before, this is but a paltry demonstration of mine manipulation of the energies within the point of origin."

"Puh-paltry...? You almost doubled in muscle mass just now!" Akari blurted in disbelief, "Are you saying you can get even bigger than this?"

That golden glint in the God's red eyes appeared once again. A mortal's challenge brought him amusement. The awe he was causing in his friend was the kind of earthly pleasure he had come to miss. " With ease." The God's voice rolled out like thunder, making Akari take a step back in reflex.

As Arceus' balled his hands into fists, he seemed to lurch forwards. A golden outline in the shape of the anthropomorphic deity projected outwards with a sharp ringing.

Akari braced instinctively although the projection harmlessly passed through her. When she finally lowered her arms, she found a distinct lack of lighting in the house. The dim surroundings made her question if time had sped to dusk, but then she realized no such event had transpired. Arceus' glow was so intense it made everything else inside the house seem lackluster in comparison. And then she finally noticed it. The God had begun to grow larger.

Arceus' body was stretching out in all directions at once. His gilded feet dragged along the wooden floor of Akari's house, his head beginning to brush along the ceiling as his ten feet stature grew even more imposing. The muscle bound God's frame seemed to be inflating all the more, adding bulk where there already was hard, well-defined muscle. Limbs thickened, chest jutted out even more prominently, laterals popping out as his torso widened to impressively butch proportions.

Akari was frozen with shock. This was certainly not the first time she had seen an immense Pokémon more than twice her size, but she had never seen one grow this huge before her eyes. She could hear the rumbling in his body as skin stretched over bulging muscle. The popping of bones accompanying that series of expanding sounds gave a rubbery noise to the process Akari was witness.

Mightier and taller Arceus grew, gathering strength and power from that source which defied mortal imagination. His arms outstretched in a welcoming gesture, absorbing pure golden energy that manifested in front of him from the ether itself. Fists advanced closer and closer to the walls on each side as his arms grew ever bigger. Inevitably, he was forced to lean down with his wide, thick knocking into the ceiling.

"He was over 10ft. tall before," Akari thought. She had backed all the way into disconnected fridge by the entrance to her home; one of the several peculiar appliances she had purchased from the Ginkgo guild. From that position, all she could behold was Arceus' bulk, unable to see into the back at this point. "He's maybe three feet taller now, but he looks so much bigger with all that bulk!" The survey corps member was concerned, but also enticed. The words didn't leave her mouth, but the question was at the tip of her tongue: Just how big was Arceus going to get to show off to her?

The God seemed intent on showing off just how powerful he really was. Jubilife offered Galaxy Expedition Team members cozy lodgings but they were not greatly spacious and they certainly could not accommodate alabaster behemoths such as Arceus. With every pulsing swell, the muscular Pokémon grew more and more encompassing, dominating Akari's view as he was forced down on his knees in order to properly fit within the single story house.

"Mmm." Delighted hums escaped the shiny, enlarging deity. Instead of being displeased by the lack of room to grow into, he seemed to be having a ball finding ways to fit his ever-increasing dimensions within the small confines. Akari couldn't see an expression different to that wide-eyed, empty mask for a face that the God seemed to wear; and yet she could tell he was amused, entertained. Akari could tell because this wasn't at all dissimilar to the feeling she had shared with him during their battle above the Spear Pillar. She couldn't see it, but he was smiling.

Over 15ft. tall and counting, Arceus could feel his knees scraping along the wooden floor. The irori was buried under his legs with the stove getting shoved to the sides. Growing bigger still, it didn't take long for the length of his arms to allow his golden hands reach the side walls opposite to each other. With a rumbling gasp, Arceus saved some room by bringing his hands around and joining each fingertip with its opposite. He barely was fitting inside now.

Once unblinking eyes finally closed. Akari wondered if the show was finally over now that Arceus had almost completely doubled his original humanoid height. She didn't voice out her concern, but she couldn't stop thinking the house might not survive another growth spurt like this. That was why the young champion's eyes widened when she began to notice deep rumbling coming from the already massive God's immensity. The process had only been briefly interrupted.

Again, Arceus swelled, his buff form taking up the scarce space left in that little Jubilife house. Dorsal muscles exploded with power as the white God flared out ever stronger. That torso seemed to widen before Akari, dark grey chest beef jutting out with such thickness that each mound began to push together into subtle pectoral cleavage she could easily see behind Arceus' joined fingers. Down below, the deity's six-pack seemed to multiply before Akari's eyes, accommodating an additional pair over the longer abdomen.

Even though those the head-dwarfing biceps and triceps on Arceus' curled arms were visually appealing, what finished captivating Akari's sight were those immensely swollen, straining quads. With legs that huge, Akari could mentally picture the back of his feet already having run over her futon; and her suspicion was confirmed when she heard the wood of the stand under her bedside window crack under pressure.

What was truly a challenge was not staring at the bulge between Arceus' thighs. It wasn't just impossible to ignore; it was practically impossible not to stare. Was it a compartment? Some sort of pouch to hide whatever pulsing mass was confined within? It had swollen so round and so huge that it had begun to dominate its owner's lap. Everything about the God was undeniably thick now.

And throughout the accumulation of muscle mass, the kirin had resumed his bodily expansion as well. His beefy back had widened against the ceiling of the house, the wooden surface protesting against the increasing amount of pressure. He was rapidly taking up what little space remained in that one-person abode, running the furniture over as he was inevitably forced to bend over further.

"So huge..." Akari's cheeks were deeply flushed as gasped, holding onto the fridge by the entrance of her house for stability. When Arceus fell down onto his hands, the house itself quaked. Most of the appliances were knocked over by the impact. Before Akari knew it, the surging God had taken up all of her view. She couldn't see the ceiling or the walls anymore, completely overtaken by the surging God's 25ft. form.

"Doth thou seest, o young champion?" Arceus' potent voice rang out powerfully, its manly baritone an all-encompassing gust of wind that blew Akari's red scarf back. "The power of the one mortal kind defines as God." A bodily groan reverberated across every surface, Arceus growing bigger still. His vastness was rapidly running out of room to expand into.

Akari felt her senses getting overwhelmed by the spectacle. She was frozen with awe, but also filling with worry as she was practically bowled over by those giant pectorals pinning her against a wall. She couldn't see Arceus' face any longer, that long and burly neck making eye contact impossible. She couldn't feel any heartbeat even though she was glued to the Pokémon's chest, and yet the muscular pulsations very much transmitted how lively that massive creature was. "Thu-the house..." she stammered, clutching her right hand on pectoral mass that was strangely malleable in spite of its bulky firmness.

"Behold! For I am merely starting." Arceus' voice rang out with excitement, clearly having paid no mind to his host's weak protests. The walls and ceiling were shuddering in their attempt to contain the swelling God. It seemed as though every last square inch in Akari's home had been stuffed with Godly thickness. There was no escape.

"Arceus! Please...!" was all Akari managed to get out before everything around her was overtaken by omnipresent whiteness. She lost consciousness soon after.

When Akari came back to, she let out a freaked out bellow into the air. "AHHH! You'll crush me...?" her voice trailed off into the late morning breeze making her scarf billow. The adventurer was panting, putting a hand to her still racing heart. She realized she was outside, taking note of the bright outdoors sunlight and the lack of the claustrophobic lack of space.

Taking stock of the situation, Akari patted herself down from her cheeks all the way over to her feet, ensuring her physical well-being. She was sitting down somewhere soft and firm, a great expanse of the same whiteness that had engulfed her earlier welcoming her eyes. Her nerves flared up and she gripped the surface below. To her right, she was able to cast her gaze over Jubilife, easily able to catch sight of the plowing fields, the training grounds and the pastures all at once. To her left, a tower of the same white fluff she was sitting on seemed to stretch out to infinity, making the girl lean more and more to the side in order to find the top until she made herself collapse on her side. "I'm... I'm so high above! And that tall neck... Oh my God!"

"Ah. Thou art finally awake, mine friend." The familiar echo coming from above confirmed Akari's suspicions. She heard loud rustling as the immense, burly neck twisted slightly and leaned in such a way the face of a gigantic Arceus became visible to Akari.

"Arceus!" exclaimed the bewildered Akari, her hands clutching tufts of that pristine fur even tighter with desperation now that she knew she was very high up in the air. "He's a giant!" her mind raced as she tried to figure out exactly how big he was. The idea of casting her view down again wasn't her favorite one, but one quick sideways glance let Akari see that the Galaxy Expedition Team HQ's three-story building. "He has to be 50ft. tall. If he took a wrong step... wait a minute." She put a hand to her gaping mouth, "My house!"

"...is without defacement, young Akari." Arceus expressed, matter-of-factly, with a contrastingly exuberant tone that convinced Akari he had been waiting to tell her. The human felt herself shake as the immensity of that God began move with lumbering steps. Heavy footfalls carried him over to the city's gate, where he turned around and began to crouch down on a single knee.

"Wuh...?" Akari found herself grabbing onto giant golden fingers as Arceus gently scooped her off his shoulder to lower her and give her the opportunity to look down at the rows of houses by the area in town where she lived. "Oh!" Life seemed to return to Akari's dreary eyes when she realized her residence was undisturbed, at least from the outside, as if it didn't have a buff kirin God outgrowing it moments ago. But something didn't convince Akari. She looked back up at the stoic giant, puffing a cheek out as she struggled to understand what had happened. "You've grown even more massive. Last I remember we were about to run out of space back inside my home... so how?"

"A jest." Again, the matter-of-fact tone caught Akari by surprise. She began to return a flat-stare. "I transported us outdoors before the construction yielded to this avatar's mass."

"A joke? Wait. You MADE it look like you were about to explode out of my house! I was scared to death, Arceus!"

Arceus closed his eyes, appearing pleased with himself. "Mine apologies for the deception. Thine expression was most amusing."

Calming down from the shaking, Akari allowed herself to breathe. "I... I did not expect God to have this sense of humor." As she began to relax against the giant's palm, a thought occurred to her which made her bolt up to lean over the edge of Arceus' palm. "The villagers! ...huh?"

Whereas Akari had been expecting mass panic with the 50ft. muscle-bound deity looming over the village, she instead found all of her neighbors going about their early morning routines seemingly without paying heed to the alabaster colossus at the village gates. The fields were getting plowed, wares were being peddled and the smell of potato mochi was wafting all the up to Akari's nose.

"It's like they don't care," Akari mumbled, looking back up at Arceus with confusion. "It's like..." she squinted her eyes down, finally noticing several members of the Security Corps coming back through the gate with comrades, presumably with those that had lost consciousness out in the wild. One the one hand, they weren't at all reacting to Arceus' presence, making Akari question her own sanity. "Is this a dream? Wait..." she then noticed it. The villagers were walking around Arceus' feet and his knees, as if unconsciously avoiding something that, to them, was not there. "They're ignoring you."

"Worry not, young Akari. Mine presence hath been masked, and so hath thine."

"They're ignoring me too?" Akari pointed at herself, raising a curious eyebrow.

"'Twould be difficult to explainst thy sudden levitation, mine friend." Arceus boomed, gently bringing Akari back up to his shoulder as he began to raise to his full height once again. He turned to the gates and walked over them, headed in the direction of the town outskirts.

"Ruh-right. Where are we going now?" asked Akari, who still was trying to comprehend the behavior of Jubilife's inhabitants. Her mind had been blown by witnessing Arceus transform into a humanoid giant the way he had. She wondered if they would have been able to understand the sheer amount of power the deity commanded. Perhaps their temporary invisibility truly had been the best course of action after all.

"Come now, young champion. Thy enthusiasm findeth no shelter from mine eyes. Thou wishest to witness more." Akari was once again surprised by how the God stomped without leveling the landscape. Not a single blade of grass seemed to be upset by his passing, almost as if his feet never quite impacted the ground below his soles. Even with such size, might and presence, he was as unobtrusive as the morning breeze. Nonetheless, the Starly at the Obsidian Fieldlands flew away from him, Bidoof and Shinx scattering on the ground.

It was as if nature itself was wished not to impede the titan's stroll.

"This is much, much faster than Wyrdeer's dash..." Akari mentally remarked as she enjoyed her spot on Arceus' shoulder. Every single step covered dozens of meters in the blink of an eye. Even the gliding Braviary couldn't compete with the giant's strides taking her on an overhead tour of the Fieldlands. Akari could see the Ponyta and Alpha Rapidash by the Horseshoe Plains galloping out of the way as Arceus skirted along the stream isolating the largest chunk of land in the Fieldlands. "This is so wonderful! I never thought giant Pokémon could be so amazing." She looked up, seeing Arceus gleefully casting a sideways glance down at her. Much like any other Pokémon, he seemed happy to receive praise. "Just watching you grow was so scary at first, but part of me felt a thrill unlike anything I've felt before... and I've skydived at the Snowlands!"

"It thrilleth me as well," Arceus earnestly responded, his body tingling with the power of creation. His divine gaze surveyed the land before he set his red eyes upon the heavens. "Traditionally, the shifting of mine form is instantaneous, and thus not an activity one such as I could derive earthly pleasure from. However, the jest I performed upon thee wo'n't hath the same impact without measured delay. Pause madeth the process enjoyable and I... recallest not when the last time I enjoyed mineself thus hath been."

"It was surreal to watch... but you seemed to be having fun, yeah!" Akari nodded, "Do you want to do it again?"

"Again?" the God boomed, his immensity seeming to quake in anticipation such that Akari herself felt the trepidation. "Yes. Again."

Without further debate, Arceus focused on the golden energies swirling about, enlarging his aura in order to capture them in order to use the power to expand his vessel once more.

Akari felt the rumbling beneath her sitting spot. "He's growing again!" she thought, this time fully aware and much less averse than when they were confined within her little house back in Jubilife Town. No, this time, Akari was very much into it, as if her enthusiasm for watching Arceus grow had been influenced by Arceus' own desire to be observed as he magnified himself.

Without spatial restriction, the kirin's body stretched in all directions and loomed ever mightier over the plains. His massively muscular frame added ten whole feet in a single growth spurt, making Akari bounce atop his widening shoulders. She clung to his gorgeously silky white fur, taking nervous gulps of air every time she felt the quaking below her.

The growing giant rumbled in announcement before each swelling skyward stride. Arceus added twenty feet to his height, flexing his enormous muscles as if he was having his morning stretch. His pectorals seemed to inflate as he drew air through the lines in his masked face, power flowing in to further accelerate the expansive process. And with every growth spurt, the giant flared bigger faster,

"This is much faster pace than before, and yet it still somehow feels slow...!" Akari thought with a gasp as she watched the stream in front of them appear farther and smaller with every passing moment. Even though she was in a dangerously elevated position, curiosity made her go prone and crawl over the edge of Arceus' shoulder to peer out into the distance. Since she wasn't getting any bigger herself, with every dozen feet he added, Akari had to crawl further to be able to see past the God's bulk.

Soon, Arceus had passed the hundred feet tall mark, effectively doubling his size since leaving town. He was vibrating all over after breaking that milestone, the rumbling dying down into a constant hum reverberating from his all-powerful form as he adjusted to an uninterrupted inflow of golden energies. He was now expanding at a less explosive rate, yet steadfast in his ascension.

Akari's horizons continued to broaden, her gaze soon able to jump the hills at the center of the isolated landmass in the center of the Fieldlands. She could see all the way over to the grove where she had faced her first Pokémon Noble! Even from that distance, the grand tree at Lord Kleavor's arena looked so tiny now! It made the task of imagining just how massive Arceus was getting easier, yet she couldn't hold back a thought from reoccurring. "Just how big is he going to get?"

There seemed to be no easy answer for Akari's query. Bigger and bigger he swelled, passing 200ft. tall in his quest to tower over the sierra surrounding the plains. Arceus seemed to be determined to cast his shadow over all of the Obsidian Fieldlands. Once he was certain about the lack of sentient presences surrounding him though, he finally deposited his soles upon the ground with a quaking thud.

And thus resumed the growing titan's stroll, only this time contact with the ground added an impact previously unnoticed by Akari. She could sense the low-magnitude tremors Arceus was causing with every footfall. As he closed in to the sierra, very few Pokémon stood in his way. They all understood to move far away from his incoming grandness.

Geodudes and Gravelers needed only to bounce and roll out of the way or burrow into the rocky mountains when Arceus approached with the intention to climb them. At 300ft. tall, the mighty sierra was little more than a series of hills any novice hiker could get through. Psychic energies caught rolling boulders and other debris resulting from the sheer weight of the giant's bulk cracking the mountain range, Arceus casting them aside harmlessly in order to keep adventurers and Pokémon safe from his fun.

Between the continuous expansion and climbing, Arceus' gaze didn't take long fixing upon Mt. Coronet; the centerpiece of Hisui's Highlands. After hopping over the dividing sierra, he started growing faster again, ensuring his massive form could cross over ravines and turn otherwise large climbs into mere long steps.

Akari felt insignificant. The God was already over 500ft. tall and he showed no signs of stopping his enlargement. She had given up on crawling to the edge of his shoulders, now absolutely too massive for her to keep up. Sitting at the highest point on the silky furred top she could find, the young adventurer glanced back at the ever shrinking Obsidian Fieldlands. She couldn't believe they had crossed over to the Highlands so quick!

And Arceus continued to loom over the mountain ranges, his form ever magnificent, ever ascending. 600ft. tall, 700ft. tall, 800... he was becoming leviathanic! Akari couldn't help thinking he already had been a formidable opponent before this fragment of his whole began to transform into the titan claiming the land as his stomping ground. She truly doubted anything could ever stand in his way now, if it ever could.

The proud stride of that muscle bound God then came to a sudden stop. Even though his uninterrupted expansion made it look like his was still moving, the lack of vibrations on Arceus' shoulder indicated to Akari that he wasn't walking anymore. "Coronet." He boomed, the loudness of his baritone shaking the area, but rockslides were intercepted on the spot and gently deposited where they would do no harm. "It filleth me with fondness, this place."

"It's where we officially met for the first...!" Akari huffed a little, realizing how dumb she must've looked trying to converse with a being over 1,000ft. tall. But her disappointment melted away when she heard her partner respond.

"Indeed." His burly neck turned and looked down at who was basically less than an insect upon his deltoid. "Whereupon fair Hisui was giveth life. Was it not the most splendid of locales for thy final trial?"

Akari marveled at the red irises that she was sure she could've literally drowned into. Part of her was still shocked that someone so big could hear somebody so small, but another part felt relief wash her over. So far this had been the strangest adventure of her life and she would be very upset if she couldn't properly share the experience with her friend. "Uh huh," she finally replied with a nod, by now convinced Arceus could perceive all she was physically doing in addition to all she was saying. "Arceus..." Akari almost bit her lip at the question she was about to make, but seeing his gaze so intently on her told her she had his undivided attention. "Have you ever grown this big before?"

"Nay. No vessel of mine hath ever been endowed with power of this scale," the God replied with another booming wave of sonorous masculinity, his muscles bulking up as he tensed up with a proud flex. "Spectacle was mine goal until now. Entertainment for thee in return for thy show this past cycle. And yet..." another wistful glance was directed to the heavens themselves. Rumbling all over, Arceus climbed another hundred feet taller in a short burst, then another two hundred, and then another two hundred more! The sheer weight of his feet was starting to make his feet heavily sink into the mountain's rocky bed. "...I findeth mineself consumed with the desire to push on and test just how far this vessel can expand. Art thou entertained, young Akari?"

At first she couldn't believe it, but as she listened to the God's admission, Akari brought a hand to her mouth to cover a giggle. It was almost as if sincere and pure child-like wonder was pouring out from the Creator himself. Their aim to see just how far they could take this experiment had eliminated any manner of boredom from Akari's mind. In fact, she came to realize she was so used to her Pokémon's ability to expand by now that even with his massive and sudden growth spurt she simply did not feel apprehension about it anymore. "I am!" she finally confessed, keeping herself steady on the vast, silky jungle that Arceus' shoulder fur had become. "I can't see much of what's going on, but I can actually feel it. And I don't want it to stop!"

"Then stopeth I shan't." Arceus promised, and that was all he needed to exchange. A sincere companion to share in that which only mortals could describe as pleasure. The bliss that came with the exploration and fulfilment of one's yearning. And what they both yearned for the most right now was to see it all dwindle before the God.

First, Arceus made sure to set a protective barrier around his dear trainer, shielding her from harm as well as providing shelter without depriving her of any of her senses. After ensuring his partner's safety, his focus turned exclusively to growing larger. And grow he did, exploding with size, practically shooting skywards like an ascending dragon. Two thousand feet tall, three thousand, five thousand... He was closing in to even the massive size of the mountain dominating Hisui's airspace

His golden aura reflected upon the land with such intensity that the clouds themselves parted for Arceus, casting the entirety of the region in divine light not even mortals could ignore. For a long while, man and Pokémon alike were presented with the most gorgeous high-noon where the skies themselves had changed to solid gold.

Mt. Coronet continued to shrink ever smaller before the deity. As he passed a mile in height, his attention was brought down, past his humongous pectorals and at his extremely hefty-looking package. With Arceus having started his most potent ascension yet right in front of the mountain, its peak soon had found itself smothered under the beefy kirin's bulge, its unbearable weight causing the mountaintop to collapse. "I must fixeth that at a later time... Explanation might defy mortal understanding..." A brief pink tint decorated the deity's mask, but he quickly set his sights back on the goal at hand. All he made sure of was to stop the avalanche and redirect it where it would do no harm.

The highlands were soon unable to compare to the miles tall Arceus. He was growing so big his feet were covering entire swathes of land. Intercepting and repairing the landscape quickly had become dull to him, and since the physical tour had ended a while ago, Arceus again put distance between his soles and the ground. With fewer and fewer distractions, he continued to outgrow the region, basking in his unlimited power.

The Pokémon God could soon see other regions as he stood mightily upon Hisui. He levitated in the direction of the Cobalt Coastlands, casting his imposing shadow over the oceans. His bushy, short tail swished as he trembled in delight, wishing to expand his physical horizons until there was nothing in the world that stood bigger than himself.

Over the course of several minutes larger and larger he expanded, soon able to direct his gaze over the curvature of the world that had been born by his grace. Entire regions started looking insignificant to the gargantuan creature; Hisui itself but an afterthought to the size-hungry giant. He had to make himself grow, witness the entire process by which a physical body's mass covers so much space they become transcendental.

Arceus' muscular frame floated daintily above the continent he was presently outgrowing. He had made himself so incalculably heavy that if he hadn't engaged in levitation he gauged his mass would have plunged the entirety of the land beneath his feet down into the oceans. Few of his children were capable of such display of strength, and he was glad they had been limited as they were.

He knew all it would take at this point would be but one step to wipe out entire civilizations. This perspective where he could see entire continents at polar opposites of the world was something he had truly been missing all along. Protecting the world was just as important as enjoying all it had to offer. And thus, he separated himself from its gravitational hold, resuming his rampant growth at a more appropriate distance.

Swelling ever bigger, Arceus could soon only be compared in terms of the planet he had distanced himself from. At half of the planet's size, the God brought his musclebound arms up and gifted Akari with an unbelievable sight.

"Whoa! Whoooooa!" the overwhelmed human girl cried out as she was suddenly flung into the far reaches of space. For a brief moment she saw the glint of a golden barrier bubbling ahead of her. She was darted across the cosmos at several light years so that she could be given the seat to witness that miraculous size gain at the proper distance to behold it with mortal eyes.

"I'm in space! He's really growing bigger than a planet...!" Akari exclaimed, clumsily swimming in place, so shocked and bewildered she didn't even question her ability to breathe. And from that position she saw Arceus growing more and more, engaging in what she could only describe as a dance reminiscent of tango and figure-skating together using the ever dwindling celestial body as his partner.

Arceus didn't touch the world, gently making it flow along invisible currents that didn't disturb its environment nor knock it off its axis. The golden aura surrounding it prevented any harm from coming to the planet or its people, even as it continuously looked smaller and more brittle before the ever expanding giant.

To Akari, it first had appeared as though the gorgeous Pokémon world had been Arceus' partner. But as he became twice as big as the planet, he started holding it like a treasure above his palms. Another growth spurt that made it four times larger than the planet prompted the God to take on a more playful tone, making the sphere full of life float over and behind his burly arms like an athlete with their sports ball. He looked so amused, and Akari could tell, deep within her heart, that every last one of her friends back on the surface of the world was none-the-wiser and more importantly, safe. Her god-like partner could be a trickster, but he was no devil.

And as Arceus became so large the very world looked like no more than a tiny little marble spinning at the very tip of his fingers, two of his free hands' fingers furled in order to bring Akari to a suitable distance for conversation. His gaze was as penetrative as always, yet it was full of kindness; like a parent who had just gotten done showing off for their child's amusement.

"That was... wow. I've never seen something like this in all of my life, Arceus!" Akari had no idea if her voice would reach him. She still had no idea how she was floating in that void illuminated by the golden deity who shone brighter than the Sun. "I'm still so excited. I think I could watch you grow forever!"

A small laugh escaped the space-faring giant, "And how big doth thou believeth mine vessel canst enlarge? Believeth thou in a limit, o friend of mine?"

"I..." Akari paused for what seemed to be an eternity. She turned to look at the vastness of the solar system. It was like she was at a planetarium, able to see other planets and far away stars. Could he become bigger than those? Could he become bigger than that, afterwards? And what about later? She kept thinking about other galaxies, universes... what laid beyond? Would he grow beyond? Would he allow her to see? She couldn't know, she couldn't think that far! "I don't know," she answered, and yet she smiled. "But I want to see."

Arceus' red eyes glinted. His entire body began to rumble again, ready to take over more space still.

Their adventure into the unknown had just begun.

The End.
