Movie Date [Hetero / Feline]

The evening hit and Hesper was waiting for her friend to come back from working a whole day, but that didn't matter because the weekend was practically around the corner. The lone feline waited outside his apartment door, sitting on the ground with her back against the wall. She hadn't been waiting long, albeit Hesper usually got excited when she found a new buddy. On this occasion Hesper was wearing her favourite woolly jumper that exposed one shoulder, along with a pair of blue shorts that barely covered her thighs. She was barefoot like always.

The hallway wasn't all that busy, and mostly quiet, but Hesper still watched some people come in and out of their apartments. It was a good thing that her new friend didn't live in a house, Hesper didn't want to be waiting outside in the cold for him.

A sound reached her ears, catching her attention with a silent "Ding!" coming from the elevator at the end of the hall. The doors opened, allowing a young male cat, Jack, to walk into the apartment hall, dressed as always in a white long sleeve shirt, black pants, shoes, and, of course, his iconic bowtie.

As he stepped out, his big green feline eyes focused on the girl waiting for him in the hall.

"Hesper!" he exclaimed as he approached, his tail perking up at the sight of his friend.

Her tall, pointed ears twitched at the sound. A large grin painted Hesper's mouth at the sight, showing her sharp, jagged teeth in the process of this smile. Immediately, Hesper jumped up to her feet and rushed over to her male friend, soon giving him an overly excited hug. Her long, grey-furred tail reacted, too, springing up in the shape of a question mark - a way for felines to show their love.

"Jack! Lookin' fancy as always!" Hesper parted from the hug, taking a good long look at his outfit a second time, "I wonder what you work in...a bar? I don't think I've asked that yet."

"Oh? I never told you; I am a freelance programmer; I just like to dress up like this; it makes me feel good-looking." A quiet purr came from him as he spoke, "Are you ready for our sleepover?"

"Heck yeah!" Hesper squealed in excitement, clasping her paws together in the process.

Hanging from her shoulder appeared to be a large shoulder bag, and inside it was a woolly blanket, a change of clothes for tomorrow, and some junk food for the night. Well, a sleepover was supposed to be a grand occasion, right? Hesper retreated to the apartment door, waiting beside it like earlier.

"I kind of didn't bring any DVDs, though...but that's 'cuz I didn't want you to laugh at me if you saw what kinda films I enjoy."

"Oi, no worries; I don't like to laugh at people, but if it makes you feel better, I do watch some goofy things too; besides, right here," the cat said, pointing to his backpack, "I have my laptop and an HDMI cable; we can watch some movies directly from the internet."

He then proceeded to take off the bag and carry it in his arms while following her to the apartment door.

"Goofy things? Goofy movies? Like what?" Hesper asked, the curiosity getting the better of her, "I guess I enjoy animated films a lot. I recently watched a movie about a fox being a secret thief while also working for the government, and she fell in love with this bad boy wolf that was super proud of also being a thief. Are the movies you watch also as goofy as that?"

"Uh," the cat said quietly, flattening his ears, as if the plot of the movie Hesper mentioned was one hundred times more complicated than the comedy Big Bang Theory.

Placing her paws onto her hips, Hesper just huffed. Her tail started to wag, albeit it was a very slow, gradual one.

"What, am I confusing you already? The big night hasn't even started yet!" Hesper joked, albeit it was sarcastic rather than serious.

"Not that; just that movie you mentioned sounds more complex than the comedies I watch in my spare time; but anyway, shall we step in so I can install the laptop and start the night?"

Hesper squeezed her eyes shut and gave a wide smile.

"Yeah, sure! I so wanna see how comfy your sofa is!" Hesper squealed.

In the process, she unzipped her shoulder bag and pulled out her woolly blanket. She wrapped this blanket around herself.

"Of course, let's go."

He led her to his apartment's white door, which had a carpet at the entrance that read, "My home is your home." Jack's apartment was studio-style and circular in its structure. At the right of the entrance, he had a big, comfy bed with pillows and thick blankets and some nightstands. He had a window that allowed him to see a good portion of the beautiful city. At the left of the entrance, he had a little kitchen with some counters, a fridge, and a white modern-style table.

"Welcome! The bathroom is right there at that door at the side of the kitchen; I'll leave the things here at the table; I need to change into something more comfortable for tonight."

Shrugging her shoulders, Hesper gave a little nod of the head.

"Okay," she answered simply.

As she walked into the apartment, Hesper glanced at the kitchen, and then over to the bed. During the time her cat eyes scanned the room, she chanced upon a black leather couch and a television sitting right in front of his bed. Yippee! She took full advantage and jumped right on the sofa, sitting on the left side of it with her legs crossed. While her bag was beside her, Hesper rummaged around the inside, soon pulling out a nightdress that she was going to change into...right here when Jack wasn't looking!

Not losing any time. Jack stepped into the bathroom after picking up some cotton pants and shirts from his closet. After some minutes, he stepped back again, dressed in a green cotton shirt that complemented his eyes and a pair of white shorts.

"Ah, much better," he said.

But when he turned, he noticed that Hesper had put on some comfortable clothes too. His cheeks blushed at seeing the appearance of the girl dressed in her new clothes.

After Hesper changed into her pyjamas, she wrapped her woolly blanket around her torso yet again. She tried her hardest not to show it, but the cold air gave her the chills. Under all that grey fur Hesper was shivering, despite the feline trying to stiffen up her body time and again. She was now wearing a slender pink nightdress that extended to her knees, and this nightdress had a small picture of a domestic cat printed on the chest area. She looked super cute in it!

Along with the blanket and her pyjamas, Hesper also pulled out a bunch of snacks from her bag as well. Typical.

After staring at her for some moments, he noticed she seemed to be a little cold.

"Would you like some hot cocoa while I set up the laptop?"

After pulling out a bag of caramel popcorn, along with a bag of beef jerky, cheese sticks, and some crisps, Hesper glanced over her shoulder at Jack and screamed out a "yes!".

He produced a "mrr!" sound, hearing her excitement, and not waiting any longer, he grabbed a pot in the kitchen area and filled it up with water, then placed it on the kitchen counter, letting it heat up. As he waited for the water to boil hot, he approached the television and installed the laptop, connecting it to the TV; afterwards, he opened a file he had on the desktop, revealing some video files.

"These are some of the movies I found online; I have some episodes of comedies too, and although I personally hate horror movies, I have some downloaded too."

"You hate horror movies?" Hesper blinked and then laughed, "I wonder why. I love horror movies, comedies as well. It's a blast when both genres are mixed together, though!"

From the couch, Hesper watched Jack connect everything up. She already felt warm in her blanket, too, which was a perk. Her slender grey tail coiled around her waist under the blanket, adding to the warmth. Her paws proceeded to open up the bag of popcorn, although she didn't dig in yet.

"Okay, how about this? We watch some horror movies, and then to relax, we watch some comedies."

"Oh yes! I find it's always best to watch comedies after a horror movie, especially if it's really scary. I once watched a horror movie about an elderly couple doing satanic witchcraft and I stayed up the entire night."

Jack approached Hesper with two mugs full of cocoa in his paws after setting everything up and mixing the hot water with some cocoa, sugar, and powdered milk, and saw her at her side, closely handing her the cup.

"If you still feel cold, we can cuddle if you wish." Cuddling was something common between cats, even between friends.

"I love cuddles! I so wanna cuddle!" Hesper cheered. Well, at least she was in a good mood!

Taking the hot chocolate from the male cat, Hesper brought the mug in close, having it under the blanket. The hot mug kept her paws warm, and just at the feel, Hesper felt a sensation like ice was melting from her hands. It was hard to describe it, but that's how it felt.

"Plus...I guess cuddling's fun..." she continued, albeit in a quieter tone than before.

"I mean, what feline doesn't love it? May you give me a space within the blanket?"

"Mhm," she hummed, "just come right in!"

Holding her mug in one hand now, Hesper's other hand opened the blanket for Jack.

"It's warm and snug! I've had this blanket for two years now and it's never let me down." Of course, there was a story for everything...

He slid beneath the blanket, close to her side, the warmth of their bodies complementing each other and keeping them warm. Feeling the comfort, Jack couldn't help but start purring.

The cat then took the laptop (which he had left on the couch) and browsed through some of the horror movies he had downloaded, directing the mouse to a file named Exorcist (it was simply The Exorcist movie).

Hesper nuzzled into Jack, having her tail wrap around him as a way to keep him close to her. Both her hands embraced the mug again, enjoying the warmth for her cold paws.

"Oh wow! I haven't watched a demon movie in ages. The last horror movie I watched was about a tribe girl that defeated an alien predator as a way to be respected in her village. It was cool, but I admit I kinda slept through it...a little bit."

"Welp, then maybe this will keep me awake during the whole movie," and without hesitation, Jack opened the movie.

(Time skip)

Three hours passed, and now the once-relaxed cats were witnessing in absolute fear the grotesque and terrorific scenes of the movie. Jack's fur was completely puffy in fear, making him look like some sort of stuffed plushie with an expression of fear.

Hesper didn't notice Jack's fuzzy fur, of course, as her eyes were glued to the television screen as much as his were. The common scenes that took place was about an old priest performing an exorcism on a girl he believed was being possessed by a demon. A film released in the late '70s. It was interesting to say the least, and in its time, it was classed as an original movie.

Having her head rest on his shoulder, Hesper nuzzled into his collar, her pointed ears flinching in the process. She let out a loud, mighty yawn. Her arm was wrapped around his torso much like her tail was. Her mug of cocoa was sitting on the floor beside the couch, completely empty, along with a few empty packets of snacks.

"Tired yet?"

When she looked up, she saw Jack terrifiedly staring at the screen, his now-puffy tail coiling around his own left thigh in fear, and his ears flattening.

As Hesper caught sight of Jack's scared expression, she just spat out laughing.

"Oh please, you can't be scared of that!"
