#19 of Zonktober 2022

Nothing like meeting a real life, experienced stage hypnotist to find out you're extremely susceptible to repetitions.

The last installment in the Zonktober series belongs to Nickylion (https://www.furaffinity.net/user/nickylion)! Hope you guys enjoy it.

Nicky had been toying with his mane for the last few minutes and anyone that knew him just a bit could tell that he was feeling slightly flustered, although he was making a pretty good effort at trying to keep it hidden. The lion was going out with some friends when he'd been introduced to an odd-looking rat - one that was dressed like he'd just walked down of a stage show.

Obviously, Nicky's mind had begun to work in endless scenarios, but its effort had proved unnecessary when the rat had confirmed, after a few minutes of harmless conversation, the idea that he'd been toying with.

"Oh, by the way. Name's Max. You'll have to forgive me for dressing like this tonight. I'm a stage hypnotist and I just finished with a show."

This introduction had aroused all kinds of comments in Nicky's friend group. The lion, however, had kept quiet and that seemed to have caught the rat's attention. It wasn't too difficult to understand why, he thought - even a stranger could have noticed how blushy and squirmy the idea of meeting a real hypnotist made him feel.

Later, when their other friends had left, Nicky and Max had been left on their own, sitting in a dark corner of the pub they used to hang out in. Some kind of unspoken friendliness had been forged between the two based on their interests, so the situation hadn't been too weird. The problem was that now there was an elephant in the room - and one that Max didn't hesitate to address as soon as they were alone.

"So I see you didn't have any questions when I mentioned I was a hypnotist," the rat said, a nervous smile on his face. "And I can only guess why."

"Uh, your guess is probably correct," Nicky answered, chuckling. That was when he'd first began to play with his golden curls, trying to remain calm.

"I see. It's good to meet someone who is into the same stuff I am," Max recognized. The next question was practically mandatory at this point, but it still caught Nicky off-guard. "Have you ever been hypnotized?"

Nicky gulped.

Well, he'd tried listening to some files in the past and he'd definitely done some play with some folks online - but nothing remotely close to real life hypnotic interactions with someone who earned a living by hypnotizing other folks.

"Hey, that's okay," Max reassured him once he shared that bit with him. "Most folks are like that. And you don't need to be nervous about it happening in real life, it's much nicer and easier than people usually think."

"Yeah, I know that," Nicky replied, adjusting his position in the couch. Now's when he ask me if I want to be hypnotized, he thought.

"So what do you think about being hypnotized?"

It was almost the same question, but with an important difference in how to address the answer. It took Nicky a few seconds to come up with a good reply.

"Uh, I'd like that, if that's what you mean? Do you mean right now? Like, here?"

It wasn't such a good reply, in retrospective. Max chuckled.

"Uh, sure! If you want, that is."

Nicky looked around. The spot they were sitting at was silent and dark enough that nobody would bother them. Perhaps unconsciously, they had chosen a rather intimate corner of the room. That idea made Nicky blush a bit more - fortunately, it wasn't too visible.

"Huh... I'm not sure I could get hypnotized here," he muttered. "I'm too nervous."

"Oh, don't be! We can try something nice and easy if you want. Do you like mantras?"

Nicky nodded, a shiver going down his spine as he recognized the fact that this was finally happening.

"Why don't you repeat a few words for me, see where that takes you?" the rat asked, sitting a bit closer. Now, in the dimly lit room, Nicky could clearly see his green eyes. "I promise it'll make you feel more relaxed."

Nicky hesitated, but he ended up nodding. In the end, he thought, this was a chance he was not very likely to get anytime soon.

"Okay. Let's start with... Okay, I know. 'My name is Nicky'. Can you repeat that?"

"Sure. My name is Nicky."

"Good. Can you say that again?"

"My name is Nicky."

"Excellent." The rat's smile grew wider. Nicky wasn't too sure what he was so happy about - he'd just stated his name twice. "Now. 'I am relaxed'."

"I am relaxed."

Saying that out loud send an additional tingle down Nicky's spine. Max must have noticed the words had an effect on him, because he looked satisfied.

"Both sentences now, please."

"My name is Nicky. I am relaxed."

"Good. Nobody's hearing you now but you and me. This moment belongs to us, so just focus on your words and how they sound when you pronounce them out loud. Again."

"My name is Nicky. I am relaxed."

"It feels good, right?" The lion nodded. "I am going to keep talking, and anytime I pause or end with an open question, you're going to repeat the last set of sentences I gave you again. Do you understand?"

"My name is Nicky. I am relaxed."

"Good, I see you get it."

Nicky squirmed a bit. It was a silly pair of sentences, but it was already making him feel all kinds of aroused and subby. Max's gaze rested on him for a few seconds, expectantly, and then the lion noticed what he was supposed to do.

"My name is Nicky. I am relaxed."

"Good. 'I am relaxed. I am repeating words.'. Let's go with those now."

"I am relaxed. I am repeating words."

"The thing is, once you hear yourself stating these things out loud, it's very easy to notice just how true and real you are," Max explained. "Your name is indeed Nicky. You are relaxed. And you are definitely repeating words. Isn't that right? The three sentences now."

"My name is Nicky. I am relaxed. I am repeating words."

It was getting easier to focus on those green eyes in front of him. The subtle noise in the rest of the room had faded to the background. Nicky wasn't entirely sure if the tingling sensation all over his body was caused by how aroused he was, by how flustered he felt or by the effect of the words he was repeating kicking in.

"Good work. You're starting to feel it now, I can tell. Isn't that right?"

"My name is Nicky. I am relaxed. I am repeating words."

"'I am relaxed. I am repeating words. I am feeling good'. Come on. Repeat now."

"I am relaxed. I am repeating words. I am feeling good."

"See? I told you it would be nicer than you expected. Feeling good all over your body. From your toes to your head." The rat's voice had sunk to a different tone now - deeper, and at the same time, sweet and thick like strawberry jam. "You're doing great, Nicky. Look into my eyes and keep repeating."

"I am relaxed. I am repeating words. I am feeling good."

"Mhm. Thaaaat's right, you are. 'I am repeating words. I am falling into trance."

Nicky's thoughts had slowly been fading to the back of his head for the past few repetitions, but the new sentence added made some of them spring back to the front row. That sentence was a bit of a jump, wasn't it? However, before he could really think about it, his mouth had opened and he was repeating the words one by one, used to the effortless mechanism.

"I am repeating words. I am falling into trance."

"And it's so easy to recognize that as true, just like the other things you said. Again."

"I am repeating words. I am falling into trance."

"Just the last one now, Nicky."

Max's voice felt like a gentle stroke between his ears. The lion's head felt slow and soft.

"I am falling into trance."

"You are, right?"

"I am falling into trance."

"Of course you are, Nicky. 'My name is Nicky. I am falling into trance'."

"My name is... Nicky. I am falling into trance..."

"See that drowsy edge in your voice? See how easy it is to let the words slur a bit when you're sleepy like this?" Max moved closer. One of his arms slowly moved around the lion's shoulders. Those eyes were bigger now than before and were perfect to focus on. "And yet, you keep on repeating. And it feels good, right?"

"My name... is Nicky. I am falling into... trance..."

"Gooooood." The whispered word made Nicky shiver a bit, but his mind didn't react to it. It was simply there, repeating what it was told to repeat. It had been a long time since any other thought had come swimming, other than what it was repeating. It felt... wonderfully blank.

After a while, Max's voice faded to the background too - or at least, the meaning of the words it was saying did. Only that gentle feeling of being caressed by it remained, and Nicky basked on it as he focused on those eyes and heard himself say true things, real things, things that made him feel good.

"My... name is Nicky. I am... hypnotized."

"My name... Nicky. I am... notized."

"... deeply... tized..."

"My name is... is... hypnotized... I... deep..."

It wasn't long before the lion's voice became an inaudible whisper.

Keeping the lion in place with a comforting arm, Max chuckled softly as Nicky kept on repeating all those sentences, swirling inside his head as the only thoughts that were left inside. He'd known from the very first moment he'd caught the lion's gaze that he'd be easy to put in a deep, nice trance.

And now?

Well, after letting Nicky repeat his mind out for a few minutes, he'd wake him up and ask him where he'd like to move that shared interest. There were endless possibilities and the lion looked like the kind of person that liked having his mind melted several different ways.

Fortunately for him, Max knew a thing or two about that.
