A small little thing EntirelyCrows (https://www.furaffinity.net/user/entirelycrows) whipped up for me. to go with this old Xaenyth commission from 2014: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/13092534/

This wasn't how any of this was supposed to go. It was an extra patrol to double check security, on one of the more mundane jobs Azmina had been given. Now it had gone entirely sideways.

The technical came through the wall like a tank, extra armor on the front end aiding that. Obviously someone had inside info if they knew where to hit to avoid supporting beams, with the right timing to come through in a relatively unsecured zone, and that would definitely be something to investigate later. Azmina mentally set that aside as a to-do after she resolved this situation.

Unfortunately for whoever the attackers were, she was standing in their way. Fortunately for her, they hadn't come through the wall expecting to immediately receive incoming fire and hadn't had anyone on the mounted mini-gun. Chances are nobody wanted to be riding in the back and risk losing their head if they didn't get a clean ram through the perimeter.

She could work with this but had to move fast. Thankfully her reflexes had been honed from years of work with Oraci坦n, and before she'd even processed all this fully her P90 was already up and aimed. She'd barely been aware of flipping the firing selector to full auto before squeezing the trigger.

Bullets ricocheted from the armored technical. Thankfully it wasn't a proper assault vehicle, which meant this was probably more a terrorist action than anything, but Azmina's light ammo was better for penetrating tactical body armor than it was for metal plating.

She would have to make do with what she had. She always did.

Throwing herself to the side, she pulled in her P90 and rolled behind a supporting pillar. Primary goal was to keep attention and keep them off the mini-gun, or it would chew through her cover, herself, and all the nearby walls before hitting anyone else in the area. This wasn't a building fortified against this sort of situation.

This really wasn't going according to the job, and Azmina made another mental note regarding extra pay from whoever lied about the risks involved.

Secondary goal if she couldn't take them down herself was to hold out long enough for someone else from Han巽er to arrive. Hopefully nobody else would be stupid enough to run toward the loud noises and gunfire.

The terrorists were already beginning to recover their footing, with at least one of them firing wildly. Sounded like it might be a Kalashnikov. This meant that whoever was firing probably wasn't also trying to climb up to the mini-gun with that occupying both hands.

Azmina swapped hands to get a better angle, peeking out of cover and peppering the passenger side of the vehicle. She heard an outburst of pain, but the assault rifle continued it's staccato chatter. So at least two occupants in the vehicle, one now wounded and the other returning fire. She desperately hoped there wasn't a third.

Just as she glanced down to check the ammo left in her magazine, Azmina ran dry.
