#27 of Midnight

A female teen with only a few months left of high school falls into an intimate relationship with an umbreon on the school's grounds. She has to juggle this and high school itself, all while finding herself as a person. Playing it safe is key.

This story was the first I've ever written. I've edited it a lot since the initial release but kept its original structure.

Chapter 30: Midnight & Calda.M umbreon x F flareon.

Julie sat on a bench amid Castelia Plaza in Castelia City an hour later, watching hundreds of people and pokémon with their trainers walking everywhere she looked or standing by the large active fountain in the center. There were no wild pokémon roaming the area, likely because of how concentrated civilization was. It'd overwhelm them.

Julie caught constant whiffs of food from the surrounding restaurants and heard vendors occasionally yelling to advertise what they sold. It smelled delicious, and she felt her stomach rumble. Julie still felt sick from earlier and had a lingering tummy ache, but she couldn't possibly eat right now.

She felt like sobbing over what transpired earlier and puking again. Why didn't she control her urge last night? Julie had to be the stupidest girl on campus and felt about as immature and mentally undeveloped as one still in high school. That's the type of behavior she'd exhibited, and she was beyond repulsed with herself. She wasn't thinking properly and acted compulsively. She was full of so much regret.

Maybe Julie did need help in some areas, but she could fix herself. She just had to find the root of such behavior and why she wanted to enact it repeatedly. She would rather die than spew that information to a therapist, along with her relationship with Midnight. It was enough that Angie knew about it too, and she wanted to hear no criticism.

That was the last thing on her mind, however.

She pulled out her phone and checked the time. It was after 1 p.m., and she didn't want to worry Midnight too much again after the party incident. Julie sighed and stood, practically dragging her feet while walking through crowds toward the exit to the sidewalk and congested noisy traffic. It was such a nice day outside. A rich light blue sky dotted with white clouds lay above, a warm climate enriched every person and struck them with exuberant moods, and the roads, souvenir shops, and mini markets were full of tourists and locals buying and selling.

It had been a while since Julie had visited the city, and its novelty was still in full effect for her since she barely did. The last time was back when she and Midnight first visited Unova. They had a blast and spent more money than intended, but it was more than worth the fun they experienced and memories they made.

It didn't matter anyway. The sky was dull, the clouds gray, and the laughter and smiles agitated her. Julie couldn't enjoy anything right now, but she was starving no matter how much she attempted to ignore it. She crossed a street at a red light and glanced at food stands as she passed them, eventually giving in and stopping at one with sizzling patties on a grill that caught her nose. Beside them on a metal surface behind a window were some finished charred patties on fluffy seeded buns, and the rising steam from them fogged the display.

"Um... excuse me," she said quietly to the older rugged man with a gray beard standing behind it.

"They're farfetch'd sandwiches, lass. Four hundred for one," he said while flipping a patty.

Typical tourist prices, but Julie would fold as if she were one. This was where the best-tasting food was sold. Johto didn't hold a candle, but to be fair, Castelia City had any and every kind of food and dessert one could dream of from every region and culture around the world. Julie would have a tummy ache daily if she lived here. "Could I get two, please?"

"Right away. Those off the grill're still hot." He gathered them and put them in a medium-sized brown baggie for her.

Julie took out the money and exchanged it for the bag, getting change back and slipping it inside her pocket. "Thank you." She heard him wish her a nice day and kept walking. She was roughly thirty minutes from campus, so she'd probably take a bite or two of her burger to hold her off.

Hopefully, Julie would feel slightly better after so much fresh air and exercise, but she knew that wouldn't be the case because she couldn't run from the situation like she wanted to. She wanted it to disappear, but it was waiting for her with that smug look she couldn't erase from the forefront of her mind.

Julie stood at her door, looking down with a blank expression. The moment she entered, she'd have to talk. She had to go into her room and put into words to Midnight that he would be taking another girl's virginity tomorrow. On top of that, he'd be awaiting some kind of explanation pertaining to her whereabouts.

She'd been standing there for several minutes trying to gather how to approach this and prepare herself mentally to no avail. Fortunately, no one around her left their room so far, but Julie would be here forever at this rate. She took her key from her pocket and unlocked the door, slowly pushing it open and seeing Midnight lying at the center of the bed.

He watched as she entered and shut the door, glancing at the bag in her hand. She looked beat, and he hoped she'd tell him something. At least Julie was back before dark this time.

She went and sat on the edge of the bed, putting the bag down. She was encompassed with silence that she struggled to break, but Julie wanted to get this out of the way. Delaying the inevitable would make her feel more miserable than she was already.

She turned slightly to see Midnight, leaning on her hand. "I just went for a walk..." Julie shut her eyes for a second before taking in a tired breath. "I need to tell you something, Midnight."

He stood and moved up, sitting. She looked worse than the last time she walked through the door after being out for hours. He was almost scared to know.

"You remember when we had sex last night? I mean... of course you do, but..."

Midnight watched her clear exhaustion turn to sorrow, and he could tell she was struggling to continue.

She may as well blurt it out. Julie didn't want to beat around the bush. "Angie saw us and recorded it."

"Umbreon?" His face warmed, and his eyes were full. How could that be? They'd never been caught, but the laundry room was riskier than any location they'd ever mated in. In hindsight, maybe he shouldn't have gone along with it. He'd already had a bad feeling about it.

"And now she's blackmailing me with the video." Julie felt the tears fight to return, but she held them back. She'd done enough of that. "So she wants you to..." she swallowed. "To take her virginity."

Midnight stared. He didn't know how to react to that. That meant he had to mate Angie, right? That'd be weird and surely hurt Julie. It already was, in fact. It was easy to tell.

"If you don't, she'll get me kicked out of the school, so I don't think we have a choice." Julie sniffled and quickly wiped tears that began welling in her eyes. "Tomorrow night at nine."

He'd do it then. "Mbre." Midnight nodded once and studied how emotional she was. He was starting to feel that he should be more reluctant toward this even though there was no apparent way out. Of course, he was loyal to Julie and forever would be, but he didn't see the big deal.

Maybe he felt differently as a pokémon, but things would go back to normal afterward, right? It's not like he was in love with Angie. Midnight knew pokémon to mate with others even while they were mated, but they ultimately returned to their partner afterward, and many were okay with it. Midnight wasn't the type to seek that thrill and didn't require the pleasure of more than one female, but doing so shouldn't alter he and Julie's intensity toward each other due to the context.

"You're just... okay with it?" Julie didn't know what to expect. She really didn't. He just seemed so indifferent. Midnight tended not to display emotion, but this was something else.

He kept his gaze, now slightly nervous. There was some kind of disconnect here. Human relationships must be handled differently. He wasn't trying to break theirs apart.

She sniffled, sighing. "You know what... that's okay." It was better that they both weren't in shambles. Midnight could do it and get it over with. "But you don't want to right?... You wouldn't do this on your own accord?"

He shook his head. Midnight would never get bored of Julie or their relationship. The only vagina he wanted or needed was hers. Some males just couldn't be satisfied.

"Okay..." Julie lay on her stomach and opened her arms, which Midnight walked into. She shut her eyes and embraced his upper body and neck, pressing her cheek to his chest. "Okay, love."

He stood still, feeling her hold tighten. Midnight hated to see her suffer. She'd been through a lot recently. They were due to poor decisions, but still.

Julie pulled away after a moment and rubbed her eyes, sitting back up and reaching for their bag. "I got us lunch while I was out." Maybe eating together would lift her spirits a little. She wished she could feel how Midnight did about this situation, but she didn't want him humping anyone but her. She didn't want any other girl making him feel the pleasure that she brought him, and it made her want to burst into tears all over again.

This would taint the purity of their relationship and leave a permanent blemish, but they'd work through it. Julie wanted Midnight forever.
