Bad news everyone, Jeremy and his buddies are beating the shit out of Jacob because Jacob is tutoring Elizabeth. Another reason is because Jeremy got caught banging Jacob's head against the wall by Mrs. Stinheart. This time it looks like Jeremy is out for blood (dramatic music). Will Jacob survive? Obviously, he's my main character, lol. Who is this mysterious man that is watching Jacob? Who will be Jacob's lover?

Chapter 4-Intersteller Academic Quiz Bowl Pt 3

From the top of a neighboring building, a women looks down into the park of the Franz Ferdinand Institution, trying to find someone. She is looking for a young man, who was assigned to her by her boss, to follow and protect from harm. This is weird for her because she is an assassin, not a bodyguard. If anything were to happen to him, she wouldn't have enough time to think about hiding from her boss. This woman is Carol Perez. She is a top class assassin for her boss. She has dark skin, a lethal body from years of training, and has dark hair wrapped up in a bun, on the back of her head. She is quite cunning and ruthless, which is why she is considered top of her profession.

She became suspicious when she realized the boy, who had walked into the park a while ago, hadn't come out yet. When her patience was up, she stood, put a backpack on her back, and pressed a button on the shoulder strap. A pair of wings extended from the sides of the backpack, and two nozzles opened from the bottom. She pressed another button, which activated the jet, hidden in the backpack. She went souring from the top of the roof of the building, toward the park where she had last seen him.

She landed into the bushes a little ways away from her last sighting, hiding from anyone who would be walking around at night. She walked further into the park, through trees and bushes, until she heard a scream. She made a dash into the direction of the sound and when she peered over the bushes, she saw her target being kicked and beaten by a group of boys.

She went into her assassin mode and rushed out of the bushes toward the group of attackers. She came up to the biggest of them, jumped up into the air spinning, brought her leg up, and knocked him to the ground. She then twisted around toward another boy and jabbed her finger into a pressure point near his collarbone. He screamed out in pain while he lost temporary use of the arm. She then turned and faced three other shocked boys. She did a cartwheel and brought her foot down to the head of a third boy. The other two boys recovered and made their way in her direction, one swinging a punch straight at her. She blocked the punch and brought two fingers into another pressure point near his elbow. He screamed out in pain as he lost temporary function of his arm. She brought her leg up and swiped it across his face, knocking him unconsciousness. The one that she immobilized earlier tried to tackle her with his other arm, in failed attempt; she kicked him in the groin. Then she swiped her leg around toward his head knocking him out. The largest boy came at her, yet again. She blocked his punch and threw an uppercut, knocking him down. She turned around looking for the last boy, but he was gone. During the fight with the bigger boy he must have run away.

She walked over to the boy and knelt down beside him. She examined his body finding, some bruises, cuts, and maybe some fractures or a cracked bone. Nothing to serious, but she was worried about the damage done to his head. She took out a compad and dialed 911. After telling the authorities where and what she saw she quickly ran to a safe spot, in which she could keep an eye out on the boy. She watched as campus security and ambulances showed up collecting the boys and taking them to the hospital.

Jacob felt like he was floating, surrounded by darkness. He was so cold, and even found it even hard to breath. He felt so tired, and all he wanted was to sleep, and to let the darkness to consume him.

Then he felt some warmth, his eyes slowly opened just a crack. The warmth felt so good compared to the cold darkness. He could see a faint light and when he turned his head toward it, he could see it getting brighter and brighter. He had to turn away because it began to hurt his eyes. He then felt himself being held by someone. The warmth was greatest in his arms, Jacob never wanted to leave those arms, and he stuffed his face into the chest that held him. He then heard a voice calling to him.

"Don't leave, don't let the darkness take you, I still need you," said the voice. It sounded so calm, so pleasant, so soothing, "I will protect you, I will love you, you can trust me, my love, my love, my love" echoed in Jacob's head.

With a start, Jacob was awake. He looked around at the unfamiliar scenery. He was in a starch white room with a holoprojector, a few chairs, and a bed across the room. He was sitting in a bed closest to the window and noticed that he was connected to a vital monitor. He also had IV pumping, with the latest medicine, into him. He finally realized where he was, a hospital, but why was he there? He tried to remember the last thing he did, which was tutoring Elizabeth. After that, he went through the park, and....that's right! Then he saw Jeremy and his friends waiting for him, they grabbed him and started beating him. After that, Jacob can't remember anything. All Jacob can remember is that voice, and the feeling of security and warmth within those arms.

Jacob reached over to the 'call nurse' switch and within a few minutes an elderly women and a doctor walked in smiling.

"Well hello Mr. Thompson, I'm Doctor Alexander Dunlap, you gave us all a bit of a scare there," the doctor said, "How do you feel, any soreness or aches?"

Jacob had to think about that. In a raspy, quiet voice he replied, "Besides some stiffness, no."

The doctor nodded and smiled, "Ah, good, good, that means the medicine is doing what it's supposed to do." He turned toward the nurse and said, "Can you go get some water for Mr. Thompson here?" The nurse then left to go do so. After a few checks with the doctor, the nurse came in with a bottle of water. Jacob took a healthy sip and lay back into the bed, letting sleep take him.

Next time he woke up, he was surrounded by his friends.

When Becca noticed he was awake, she yelled out, "Jacob!" and jumped up and hugged him.

Jacob had to wave down Felix to get her off of him, because she was squeezing so tightly.

"Oh my God, we were so worried about you!" Becca said after letting Jacob go.

"How long have I been out?" he asked.

"3 days," said Brittany. Jacob was shocked at this. He was out 3 days, but the dream seemed more like a few hours.

"What have I missed?" he asked after contemplation.

Felix answered, "Well, Jeremy and his buddies have been expelled and Elizabeth has dumped Jeremy," then he smiles, "That means she's up for grabs, and you are injured. A little pain can get a lot of sympathy."

"I am not using my pain as a tool to get Elizabeth," Something felt weird when he said Elizabeth's name. Jacob noticed his heart didn't flutter like it use too. Before he could think any further, Elizabeth stepped into the room.

"Oh Jacob," she called out rushing over to him, hugging and kissing his cheek. "I'm so sorry for what Jeremy did, I don't know what I ever saw in him," she cried out.

"It's ok, it wasn't your fault that I got my ass handed to," he said chuckling.

"But Jeremy said he did it because you were with me," she argued

"He also did it because he was caught picking on Jacob too." came another voice from behind. Mrs. Stinheart was standing there behind everyone waiting to get a chance to see Jacob.

"Hi Mrs. Stinheart, how are you?" everyone said.

She smiled and said, "Wonderful now that I know my favorite student is doing ok."

Everyone continued to discuss what happened with Jacob, and asked if he could still make the quiz bowl. Mrs. Stinheart said it's possible if he studies really hard. Everyone agreed to help him. Elizabeth sat at Jacob's side, closer then anyone else. Jacob noticed and realized he wasn't getting the same feeling he use too for her. Over the few weeks, between Jacob's attack and the quiz bowl, Jacob studied like crazy for both his classes and the quiz bowl.

3 weeks came and past and it was now time, for Jacob and the rest of Ferdinand's representatives, to leave for the quiz bowl. Jacob's friends promised to keep a close eye on the holoscreen for the bowl. The team was made up of Nicole Emeralds, a freshmen who made it onto the team for her knowledge in social science and fine arts, Irat Huey, a Junior and another Heliokin like Felix his specialty being mythology, religion, and philosophy and next was Blake Jackson, expert on literature, and then Jacob who covered history, science, geography, astrology, and mathematics.

Everyone traveled via skyshuttle to the Berlin Space Port, which was a huge facility in the State of Germany. Besides the old fashion lunch pads, there were 2 mass drive catapults to launch ships into space. The track for the catapults stretched for miles, weaving around the facility, so the ship can build up speed to launch into space. For the purpose of non-passenger transport, the spaceport had a mass drive cannon that launches supplies into space for cargo ships to pick up. If anyone were to ride on the capsules, their body would liquefy instantly. That's why the mass drive catapults were developed.

Everyone made their way from the skyshuttle parking station, to the shuttle loading pad.

Closely behind them, a woman was standing with her hair tied up in bun. Following her without her notice was man in a brown trench coat. Like her, he had his own mission, which had to do with the boy.

They checked in their tickets and made their way into the scramjet shuttle and took their seats, strapping in for the ride. As the countdown began, Jacob thought about how he has always wanted to go into space. Now his dream was becoming a reality.

When the shuttle countdown hit zero, the shuttle jerked. Everyone on board was shoved into their seats as the shuttle began to follow the track. When the shuttle got to the end of the track, it lifted off the ground. Jacob looked out the window watching as the land disappeared below them.

When the shuttle reached a certain altitude, the computer switched from the jet engines to rocket engines, so that the shuttle can get that extra boost it needs to tear out of earth's atmosphere. They soon came across a large space station where larger ships that couldn't land on Earth, were docked. The shuttle docked with the space station, exchanging passengers, then made its way back to Earth.

Jacob and the rest of his team had to rush to make it to the next terminal to board onto their next transport, to a space station within the territory between, the Basilisk Space and Xenowolf space. The name of the ship was 'The Duchess', a pleasure linear. The space station was built for the purpose of signing a peace agreement between the Basilisks and Xenowolves. For years they have been at odds over who would have control over the territory and both sides had claim to it. The quiz bowl was an added boost for both sides to show that they were putting their differences aside.

Jacob and his team made it on board the star linear and gotten into their rooms. Meanwhile, the ship disengaged from the space station and began to make its way toward a large ring flouting in space. This was a jump ring, which helped in jumping a ship closer toward its destination. While the ship makes its way to ring, each of students separated to do their own thing. Nicole went to the spa. Black and Irat when to go to the gym, and Jacob decided to go to the ship's library.

Upon arriving to the library, Jacob looked upon the mass amounts of information cards. He started going through and read them. Sometime later, a man, or really part man, part machine interrupted Jacob. This man was bald, no trace of hair on his head. He had a few scars on his face, one across his nose, another across his left eye, and some along his arms. He was really muscular, more so then Jacob's mother's new boyfriend, Chuck. But what was machine about him is that he had a cybernetic left arm, half way up the upper part of his arm. His left eye with the scar over it, was also cybernetic, which emitted a deep blue glow, similar to his right eye. The man was undoubtedly tall and dressed in combat boots, a black trench coat with the sleeves cut off, a blue tank top beneath the coat, and a pair of blue jeans.

The man sat down and looked at Jacob, Jacob then looked right back at him.

"Um...is there something I can help you with?" Jacob asked, slightly freaked out.

"Oh no, I'm fine, I was just wondering if you are one of those students that are doing that academic bowl thing?" the man asked.

"Um, yes I am, I'm representing Ferdinand High School from Vienna, Earth," came Jacob's reply.

"Ah, a very prestige's school, very nice," the man said.

"Thank you," Jacob answered feeling pride. The man then patted him on the shoulder.

"I have something for you that may come in handy," the man said as he reached into the pocket of the coat pulling out a necklace, handing it to Jacob, "It's a good luck charm that has helped my family for years."

Jacob looked at the necklace in his hand. It was silver and had some sort of crest on it. It had a shield with a lion on one side, holding a sword in its mouth, and a dragon on the other side with its wings in a defensive pose, shielding itself. It looked beautiful. Jacob looked up to the man, but he was gone. Jacob looked around and couldn't find him.

The man who had been following the boy finally got what he wanted. He picked up his compad and punched in a code. A computerized voice then asked for his voice verification code.

"TF284," he said in a low voice, and then looked around. Then after processing the code a confirming beep came from the compad. Then the hologram of a woman appeared above the compad.

"Report, Tarry, what have you found," the woman barked.

Tarry cleared his throat and continued, "Ma'am, he just met with the boy that Carol has been following," the woman looked pleased.

"Good, keep a close eye on the boy," She then leaned over and pressed a button off to the side. The hologram vanished as he looked around to see if anyone had seen him. He then continued his stocking of the boy.
