A blood curdling scream came from Hannah. Sunset's blood froze.

"Hannah! What's wrong!?!?!" She ran to the back of the cave.

Hannah sat there, hyperventalating. She was in he own half dragon form. Dark navy blue scales covered her from the tip of her tail to the end of her muzzle. He figure was almost exactly the same as Sunset. She had elegant curves in her body and her arms were exactly like a supermodel's

"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!?!?!?! WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!?!?!?!"

Sunset knelt down beside her. "Calm d-"

Hannah slapped her. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!?!?!?"

Lacyus sat up moaning. "Sheesh. If a screeching is all I get for saving a life, remind me never to do it again."

Hannah stopped. "What?"

Mira explained. "I killed you. I shot you in the heart. The two bullets completely destroyed your heart."

Lacyus continued. "After I finished fighting Mira here, I infused some of my dragon DNA into you. It self differentiated and developed your own half dragon form. That was the only way I could save your life."

"Change me back then, dammit. I wanna be human again!"

"Sure. I'll do that and watch you bleed to death again."

Hannah sat in her improvised bed, shaking. This was not what she wanted. She missed her mom and dad. She wanted to cry, but she couldn't.

Lacyus had explained that her human bioform was too damaged to transform back into.

A pink and blue dragoness walked up carrying some tea. Lacyus had identified her as his sister Mira. Mira knelt down and offered Hannah the tea. Hannah pushed it away.

Mira smiled. "Drink it. It will calm your nerves."

Hannah's dragoness instincts kicked in. She bared her teeth and growled.

"Okay, okay. No need for violence."

"Easy for you to say. How long do I have to stay like this?"

Mira sighed. "To be honest, I don't know. Lacyus was the one that changed you. You should ask him."

Hannah started to get up, then yelped when she stepped on her tail. Mira laughed quietly.

"What? What's so funny?"

"You remind me of when I was young. I used to do that all the time. I still do it from time to time now. The best way is to put your tail pointing away from your body."

Hannah picked her tail up and set it behind her. She stood up without stepping on her tail. "What the hell is a tail good for anyways?"

Mira scratched her head. "Let's see.... Flying, keeping your balance, fighting, games."

"Games???"

"Yeah." Mira picked up a rock on the ground with her tail and flicked it over her shoulder, catching it. "Lacyus, Sunset and I used to have huge games of this. We would see how many items we could throw and catch. I hold the record right now at thirty-five items in thirty seconds."

That sparked Hannah's interest. She looked over her shoulder and attempted to wrap her tail around a rock. She held it for a moment before it slipped through.

"It takes some practice, but you'll get it soon enough."

"What else can this body do?"

"Your strength, speed and reflexes will be greatly amplified from your human form. As well, you'll be able to cast spells by drawing on your natural mana well. Your scales are virtually bulletproof and fireproof, but like other reptiles, you'll shed every six months or so."

Hannah shuddered at the though of her own skin simply falling off. "Sounds gross."

Mira yawned. "Actually, it feels pretty good. Almost like you've taken a really good shower."

Hannah flexed her arm. "I don't or feel any faster or stronger."

"Dragon muscles are more dense than human muscles. They use energy much more efficently and can move faster and exert more force."

"Can you show me some tricks then?"

Mira and Hannah walked out of the cave. Sunset and Lacyus had left together. For some reason, the blood stain in front of the cave seemed more natural to Hannah.

"What are we-" A snowball suddenly hit Hannah's face. Mira hefted another.

"Let's have a little snowball fight." Mira snapped the snowball at Hannah, turned and ran.

Hannah, suddenly angry, made her own snowball. Suddenly, something whispered to her in the form of a feeling, but no words.

She ducked as another snowball went sailing past. Hannah finished her snowball. It was the sized of a snowman's head. She held it with one hand. Smiling she felt her dragoness side getting into the game.

"Where are you Mira? I wanna give you a nice cold facewash."

Suddenly, two snowballs impacted on her from behind. A black shadow and orange beige blur laughed and hid behind a tree and a rock.

"Common Hannah!" Lacyus called, laughing. "You're a dragon now! Go and find her!"

"BOMBS AWAY!"

Hannah looked up only to be pelted by thirty or fourty snowballs. Mira sat triumphantly on a tree branch. She hopped down and walked over to Hannah.

"Truce?" Mira whispered. Hannah nodded. "Good. I wanna ambush those two."

She pulled Hannah behind some rocks as a hail of snowballs tore up the ground where they were standing.

"I though you were a bounty hunter Mira!" Sunset said, laughing in delight. "They don't back down from a challenge!"

"Yeah, but nothing says I can't be a smart bounty hunter!" Mira shot back. She turned to Hannah. "Okay, here's the plan. I need you to draw their fire while I ambush them"

Lacyus quickly made as many snowballs as he could carry. Though he could not see Sunset, he could feel how happy she was over their link.

*Where's Mira?* Sunset asked.

Lacyus finished his snowballs *I don't know. I thin-*

Hannah broke her bowling ball sized snowball over his head. Lacyus reacted, shoving all of his snowballs in her face. Hannah dissapeared as fast as she appeared.

*Fuck, Hannah's getting better.*

Sunset laughed telepathicly. *What'd she do?*

*Face wash.*

Suddenly Mira appeared out of nowhere, hurling a storm of snowballs. Lacyus scrambled out of the way.

*Where the hell did she come from!?!?!*

Hannah siezed him and threw him down into the snow. She piled snow on top of him, laughing. Mira joined in. Lacyus fought back, laughing and smiling. Mira jammed a handfull of snow down his snout to muffle him.

Suddenly, cabled hissed through the air, wrapping around Hannah's and Mira's neck. They both made strangled noises before they were pulled away. A fiery red and golden dragon came bounding down the slope. It was Rykuu, Lacyus' best friend.

"Are you ok? What the hell happened?"

"I'm fine, I'm fine. We were having a snowball fight, that's all."

"Who's the cute blue dragoness? Your new mate?"

"HEY!" Sunset snapped emerging from behind a tree. "I'm still here!"

"Irritable as ever Sunset." Rykuu laughed.

Sunset slapped him. "Still don't have control of your mouth yet Rykuu? Too bad."

Rykuu, despite his bluntness and habitually insulting personallity, he was outgoing, kind and very friendly. His weapons of choice was the razor cable. When propelled fast enough, they could punch through a meter of steel.

"So you never told me, who's the cute blue dragoness?"

***

Hannah's heart fluttered. The new dragon was really cute to the dragoness side of her. And he found her cute too. But he was a full dragon and she was only half. She figured she should just keep her feelings to herself.

"Oh, she's Hannah, a human that I transformed into a dragoness." Lacyus answered.

The newcome strode over to her. He helped her up. She avoided his eyes.

"Hey. At least let me see your eyes."

Hannah felt the blood rush to her face as he looked at him.

"Wow. They're beautiful. My name's Rykuu. And you are?"

"H-H-Hannah." She winced in her mind.

'There goes my first impression.'

Rykuu frowned. "Hannah? Doesn't sound much like a dragoness to me."

Lacyus, Sunset and Mira ran over.

"Actually he's right. Hannah won't fit in as a dragoness. A fox maybe, but not you." Lacyus commented.

Hannah felt something open up in her mind. Somehow she could hear Rykuu when he wasn't talking. She could even sense his emotions. Right now, he was in awe.

*Wow. She's beautiful.* Rykuu snorted telepathicly, obviously annoyed. *It's too bad she doesn't like me.*

"HANNAH!"

Lacyus' shout snapped her out of her trance. "Yeah??"

"How does Nephilla sound for your dragoness name?"

A fragment of her memories stirred. "Yeah. It sounds good."

Rykuu piped up. "Where are you guys staying?"

Sunset pointed to the cave. "Right over there."

"Do you have anything to eat?"
