Ruth goes wild before the FOS agents go deep, but success is never guaranteed.

Chapter 12: Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake. - Revelation 8:5

Now that they had a destination all the infiltration team had to do was wait for the plane Ruth Pawstone had arranged for to arrive. Rather than sit and listen to Violet tease Kyroo, Zac suggested that he and Natasha should take a walk around the perimeter of the airfield.

"Just a security check." He told them.

"Just to fuck, more like it." Violet told Ruth in a fake whisper. Then she said to Zac in a louder voice, "Hey, I'm your partner for this showdown, how about takin' me for a walk in the moonlight, Zac?" She finished with a suggestive waggle of her eyebrows.

Zac rolled his eyes, but the skin around his face flushed red like the fur on his muzzle as Violet's barb had found its mark. He stayed silent, however, taking Natasha by the paw and leading her out of the hanger into the dark.

"You could take me too!" She called after them, but there was no reply. "Fuckin' snobs. Last time I give them a chance at a threesome." She laughed at Kyroo's embarrassed expression, but her grin turned introspective when she saw Ruth's faraway gaze combined with the subtle movements of her paw between her legs. She slid over to sit beside the older rabbit and whispered in her ear.

Kyroo watched them, wondering how much more humiliation he had to suffer before they left Ruth behind and got on with the mission. Their whispered counsel was different this time though, he noted. Ruth looked unsure about whatever Violet was saying, shaking her head 'no' several times. Violet looked like she was trying to talk the older doe into something, and Kyroo saw that her white poodle paw was not merely resting on the thigh of the heavyset hare, it was rubbing it and massaging it, and very high and inside in what Kyroo's male friends would call an obvious attempt to steal third base.

His eyes went wide and his ears came up when Violet brushed her long thin muzzle over Ruth's shorter, whiskered one and her knuckles when white from the pressure she was exerting between the doe's legs.

Shortly after that the two females stood up and crossed the short distance between their bench and the blanket Kyroo was sitting cross-legged on. They plopped down, one on each side of him.

"Kyroo." Violet began with an apologetic tone that was totally unfamiliar to his ear. "Ruth and I want to say sorry for the way we teased you earlier."

The apology might have sounded more sincere is she had not put her paw on his left thigh and started rubbing it the way she had been rubbing Ruth's a moment earlier.

"Yes." Ruth joined in. "Comparing notes like that is not a fair way to assess a male's prowess." She said as her paw did the same to his right thigh.

Violet leaned in and began to nibble on his left ear. "A more ... direct comparison ... would be in order, don't you think?"

At the same time Ruth grabbed him by the balls and squeezed hard, the way she used to when Kyroo thought she was just an older schoolteacher horny for some young tail.

"Are you ..." he squeaked like he had been sampling Ruth's helium, "... are you suggesting ... I don't think I could ..."

"Don't let him bullshit you." Violet said across his face to Ruth, leaning in to lick Kyroo's muzzle as she did. "He and Zac had threesomes with Delores all the time when she was their senior agent. She told me so."

"Yes." Ruth said as she used her large front teeth to pull his lip down on her side. "He talked about her almost as much as he did about Silver. I think he secretly wanted to do it with her and the silver fox, or maybe just Silver."

"Hey!" He exclaimed, but he offered no physical resistance. Their paws were all over his body now. Their tongues were poking and prodding at his mouth. His loose-fitting cargo pants had developed a distinct bulge.

"Wha- ... what if Zac and Natasha come back?" He protested feebly.

"I'll check." Violet got up and strolled over to the gap in the hanger door. She peered out for a moment before returning.

"As I suspected, they are shagging like porn stars on overtime. They made it past the range of the floodlights, barely, but they forgot about the full moon rising tonight; it silhouettes them perfectly. Wanna come see?"

"Uh, no."

Violet shrugged. "Your loss." She quipped before dropping her head to his groin, where she nuzzled the bulge while teasing the unbuckling his belt.

Ruth showed no sign of interest in spying on the others either as she grabbed Kyroo's jaw and pulled his head around to seal her lips on his and plunge her tongue down his throat.

When he got a chance to come up for air Kyroo gasped, "Ruth ... I didn't think ... you were into ..." he glanced down to where Violet had worked his cock free of his drawers and was licking the rapidly inflating organ, "... you know."

"A doe of my age takes love where she can find it." Ruth assured him. "Besides," she added as she slid down to accompany violet on the meat flute, "I'm not fucker her, I'm fucking you."

Kyroo sat back on his extended arms and watched as the two stout females worked his rod with their tongues. When one was sucking or licking his knob the other would be working his clothes off, and he raised his butt so they could pull his cargo pants and boxer shorts off easier. When it was Ruth's turn on his dick next Violet started to undo Kyroo's shirt from the bottom up, gently biting and sucking on the skin of his belly and chest as she went. He leaned down to kiss her upturned muzzle but she did not linger long as it was her turn on his knob again.

Now that he was naked the two females took turns undressing each other while keeping the heat turned up on his cock. Violet's nipples stood out from her flat chest, above an abdomen that was rather too muscular to be considered feminine. Ruth was the opposite, her breasts were large and pendulous, her belly soft and round. Neither could be called beautiful, or even pretty, but their skills were undeniable. His cock hardened at the memory of how skillful they were with the parts that really mattered.

The pre-cum was dripping steadily from the tip of his cock when Ruth pushed him back down on the blanket he had been cleaning weapons on. Then she kicked his legs together and straddled him. Squatting with her ass and powder-puff tail high above him as she took his cock in her paw and spread their spit and his fluids along the shaft. When she was satisfied that he was slick enough she lowered her butt down and skillfully maneuvered the tip between the hot, wet lips of her cunt.

Violet watched with a toothy poodle grin as Ruth slid down the rigid pole with a grunt and a sigh. Then she got on her knees and swung one leg around so that she was kneeling over Kyroo's face.

"I don't need to tell you what to do, do I?" she asked as she lowered her crotch down until his black leathery nose was pressed up against the thin strip of flesh between tailhole and twat.

Kyroo knew exactly what to do. He just needed second to figure out which hole to start with. His mouth having gone dry with shock when they came onto him, he decided to sample the nectar her flowering twat could offer first.

Ruth rode him like a show horse, twisting and rotating her hips to get the best contact against the most sensitive spots inside her. If she leaned one way she could make the head of his cock press against the spongy pad of flesh a few inches up her twat. Leaning the other way helped for dragging her clit along the bumpy landscape of his swollen shaft. When she leaned forward though, her head came up against Violet's chest.

Unlike Ruth, Violet was letting Kyroo do all the heavy lifting, literally. He had each globe of her ass in one of his paws and had braced his elbows against the floor to take her weight while he sucked and lapped at her twat. He twisted his head and craned his neck to tease her clit for a bit before sealing his long, narrow muzzle around her mound as driving his tongue deep inside. So Violet had her paws free, and she used them to guide Ruth's mouth to her nipples.

"Kinda like sucking his." She said as Ruth instinctively sealed her lips around one firm nipple. "Ain't it?"

"You wouldn't mind lending a girl a paw, would you?" Ruth gulped before switching nipples. She had both her paws on Violet, steadying herself and caressing the muscular poodle at the same time.

"Perish the thought." Violet replied as she released Ruth's head and dropped one paw to the rabbit's groin as it rose and fell on Kyroo's shaft. She felt for Ruth's clit, found it, and began to rub it the way she rubbed herself when she wanted a slow, steady build up to a cataclysmic orgasm. She took one of Ruth's pendulous breasts in the other and teased the large soft nipple erect with it.

Ruth put one of her paws on Violet's clit also, pushing Kyroo's tongue out of the way to slide her digit in and out and along the knob of hard flesh.

Kyroo dutifully switched holes, licking the rim of Violet's tailhole until she was vibrating with anticipation before poking it in through the ring of taut muscle.

Violet was starting to twist and shake uncontrollably, and Ruth's breathing was quick and shallow, so the poodle called, "Switch!"

Almost as if they had rehearsed it the two females exchanged places on Kyroo. One moment he was tongue deep in a tight pink poodle tailhole and the next a warm wet rabbit twat was pressing against his muzzle. His cock also acknowledged the difference in tightness and tension as Violet's younger and professionally trained cunt engulfed it. Motherly comfort had changed to compelling competition as her tight quim challenged his ability to resist cumming.

Violet rode Kyroo with a vengeance, and Ruth was hard put to keep her thumb on the poodle's flying clit, but she did her best. Violet let Kyroo concentrate on Ruth's clit while she buried her head between those large breasts, alternately sucking on the soft furry flesh between them and the motherly nipples at their tips.

It was becoming difficult for Kyroo to concentrate, what with the sweet smell of doe musk in his nose and the constant gyrations of poodle pussy on his cock, but he managed to hold on for another couple of minutes. He was happy to feel Ruth cum on face before he exploded inside Violet, and was not disappointed when she came shortly after.

Violet's bouncing slowed until she was sitting on his hips with his cock still stiff inside her. Ruth rolled off his face to lay beside him on the blanket, resting her head on the poodle's thigh.

"There's an outdoor shower stall." She said then glanced at the clock on the wall. "The plane won't be here for an hour so there is plenty of time for each of us to have a shower.

"Even more time if we shower all together." Violet said with a grin.

"Could get pretty crowded in there."

"I'm sure we'll all fit if we squeeze together reallllly tight."

Ruth looked up at her with a smile. "I'm up for it."

Violet reached back and gave Kyroo's balls a loving squeeze. "Feels like Whitey here is still up for it too. Let's go!"

She jumped off Kyroo, leaving his cock swaying in the cool air and helped Ruth to her feet before they both helped Kyroo to get up. Arm in arm they headed for the small back door of the hanger.

"I wonder how Zac and Natasha are doing?" Kyroo asked no one in particular.

Neither of his companions answered, but Zac and Natasha were doing just fine. As Violet had said, they had stopped just out of range of the hanger's floodlights in what was initially an intense embrace and kiss. It was not long, however, before paws began to wander and clothes began to drop to the dusty dessert floor.

Standing face-to-face and still locked in their embrace Natasha had reached down to stoke Zac's growing cock and he had reciprocated with a paw on her already damp sex. When he was rigid and she was wet she bent his cock down and tucked it between her legs, gently rocking back and forth as her extended cunt lips massaged his shaft.

Not knowing about the shower Zac opted to stay standing, and he brought his right leg up and around her waist, resting his ankle on the base of her tail. Natasha, no to be outdone, did the same. It only took a slight twist of the hips and a bend of the knee to go from massage to penetration. Then, with the casual athleticism they were both known for, they settled into a slow, steady rhythm that maximized contact and penetration.

They were still at it at the same pace when Zac heard laughter and the sound of running water coming from the far side of the hanger.

"Sounds like they have a shower over there." He grunted between kisses that otherwise kept his tongue engaged.

"God, we can freshen up when they're done." Natasha gasped back.

They continued in the strenuous position with muscles honed and perfect balance from countless hours of practice. But it wasn't their usual competition to see who could make the other cum first. They both seemed to realize that one or both of them may not be coming back from this one and there was more tenderness than tension in their movements.

After a few more moments Natasha gasped, "Go faster Zac. I'm nearly there."

Zac obliged, admiring the way that she matched his movements even while struggling to contain her orgasm. He was close too, he realized, and abandoned all attempts at control when he felt her tense up in anticipation of cumming.

She bit his shoulder to keep from crying out when her insides liquified. The sudden sharp pain started Zac into cumming too, but he just let his passion scream into the night. The shock was so intense that he almost lost his balance, but not quite.

His balls shot wad after wad of spooge deep inside her and a series of smaller orgasms wracked her frame with each shot. Eventually their mutual movements slowed to a halt. They each put both feet back on the ground and leaned against each other while they caught their breath.

"You say they have a shower here?" Natasha asked when she could speak again.

"Yes, can't you hear them in it?" Zac answered as his ears swiveled back and forth, picking up the sound of water, thumping and giggles.

"No. Wolf ears are better for that sort of thing than snow leopard ears. I have to be facing in the right direction to pick up something faint."

"Faint? It sounds like they are tearing the shower stall apart."

"Well, even if they do there will be water coming out of the wall to wash in, so what do you say to getting down and dirty in the sand?"

She emphasized her intent by slowly dropping to her knees, drawing her paws down his torso as she went, before taking his half-erect cock in her mouth.

"Down and Dirty it is then."

By the time they were done and had their turn in the shower Zac could hear the plane arriving. He was slightly shocked to note that it was a jet aircraft. He had been expecting an old prop plane, but when it touched down it was obvious that it was an executive jet.

"Not everything they bring across is contraband cargo." Ruth explained. "Sometimes rich folk need confidential services too."

When the stairs dropped an armadillo in a pilot's uniform appeared in the doorway.

"Hey Sticks! I though you had retired?"

"This is a special job for a, uh, friend, Marco. You bring the stuff I asked for?"

"Four glide suits with parachutes, sure. What you doing, mi corozon? Escorting thrill seekers now?"

"Something like that." She stepped aside so that Marco could see the four agents. They were already dressed in body armour and carrying their gear and weapons.

The armadillo looked distressed. "Oh, Chica, tell me you're not trying to invade a certain small Latin American country again."

"No, mi carnal, I gave up on that years ago. These ... friends ... need a lift to Yucatan. I can't tell you why but it's very, very important. Can you trust me, Marco?"

Marco looked at the eclectic collection of armed creatures: an uptight looking wolf with reddish fur, a very fluffy and lovely snow leopard ... holding a tommy gun? ... a white fox looking nervously at an equally white poodle with a snarky grin and a purple mohawk. His brain struggled to find an assumption that all four fit but failed to do.

"I guess I'm going to have to, Sticks. The boss said the plane was yours for the day, no questions asked." But you can bet he'll have a few for Sticks once he finds out what kind of passengers we were ferrying, he added to himself. Aloud he said, Let's get them loaded."

Inside the plane Marco introduced Ruth to his co-pilot, a jackrabbit called Tex.

"Well howdy, sweet thang." Tex said on seeing another rabbit. "Are you the one that applied to join the mile high club?"

"If you're referring to how far up your ass my boot is going, yeah, that's me."

"Oh-ho. I like this one, Marco."

Ruth rolled her eyes and went to join the rest in the passenger cabin while the pilot taxied to the end of the runway.

It was a luxury craft, with seating for twelve and a bar by the cockpit door. The glide suits and matching helmets were piled neatly on one of the big leather swivel chairs. She picked them up and passed them to the agents.

"I had to guess at your sizes, but my contact in FOX told me that you all have used these before."

"Yeah, once." Violet complained as she examined hers. It was light blue on the front and dark green on the back, perfect camouflage for anyone looking up at them against the daytime sky or down on them as they descended to the jungle.

"More than most agents get for their first insertion." Zac chided her.

"You knew about this?"

"No. I assumed that we would either be set down at a nearby airstrip or do a low-level parachute drop close to the target. But then, I assumed we'd be in a drug plane flying low and slow."

Ruth gestured at the leather chairs, the gold lame drapes and the crystal fittings. "Sorry, this was the best I could get on short notice. Obviously, the nature preserve has no runways suitable for a jet, so we'll pass over the target area like some rich tourists on a charter flight before heading off toward the old pyramids, in case your target has radar up on the surface. You four can exit out the door on the seaward side. You won't show up on the radar. There is a GPS on the wrist of each suit. You can enter your target coordinates and they will lead you right to it. Just grab air to slow yourselves down when you're above the landing zone and pop your chutes at about four hundred feet. The, uh, GPS is in American units, not metric."

Zac thanked her as they strapped in for take off. Once they were at cruising altitude he went over the fine points of the suits with the rest and set all the GPS for the same point on the map.

The Armadillo came back to let them know about the flight.

"We're registered as a medical recovery flight going to Belize. We're staying in American airspace until we're over the Gulf. When we land there the authorities will board to find only the two crew members and Nurse Pawstone here." He gestured to Ruth, who had changed into a medical uniform. "Unfortunately, the hospital will send word that the patient has died and the evacuation is cancelled. We'll look all disappointed but without visas we will be forced to refuel and head back right away. We will not be passing your way on the return trip. You are on your own as soon as you step out the door."

"Got it" Zac acknowledged.

"Going to take about six hours to get over Sian Ka'an. Best get some sleep while you can. I'll come back and let you know when we cross into Mexico."

Zac and Kyroo debated whether they should sleep in shifts, in case the pilot and co-pilot tried anything fishy. Overhearing them, Ruth told them to sleep.

"I'll vouch for them, and I'll stay awake in the seat closest to the flight deck in case they get nosey."

"But can we trust her?" Natasha whispered in Zac's ear.

It was obvious that the rabbit heard what Natasha said, but before an argument could begin Zac interceded.

"FOX trusted her to get us where we're going, and we need all the rest we can get." He told his crew before turning back to Ruth. "Thank you, Miss Pawstone. Please wake us an hour before we reach the target. We'll need that time to make final preparations and suit up."

"If by final preparations you mean take a pee and a nervous shit before jumping into hell." Violet quipped as she rifled through the bar.

"Put those back." Zac ordered when he saw her stuffing miniature bottles of vodka and tequila into her backpack.

"Aw, Geez Zac! We'll want something to celebrate with if we're successful, and no one's going to miss them if we fail."

"Put them back."

Zac could not decipher the grumbles that followed as Violet replaced the bottles in the rack, but he suspected they were mutinous as well as obscene.

It was full daylight when Ruth touched his shoulder, bringing him instantly awake. He called to the others, and they came out various stages of sleep almost as quickly. As Violet had predicted most had to make a visit to the washroom before putting their body amour and glide suits on.

The cockpit door opened. "We're over Mexico now." The armadillo told them. "We'll drop down to three-thousand feet when we get over Sian Ka'an and make a big circle around it. Ruth will take it from there."

In the rear of the plane Ruth was already strapping herself to an anchor on the floor in preparation for opening the rear door. It was the kind that raised into the bulkhead above the cabin.

"Hold onto the seats until I get the door all the way up." She told them. "It will take a few seconds before the pressure equalizes inside the cabin and anything not nailed down could get sucked out. Not that I care, but you might slam your head on the doorway during an involuntary exit and I'd have to pay for the damages to the plane."

The four each grabbed a chair and wrapped the seatbelt around their forearms as the felt the plane descend and slow. Through the windows they saw the Caribbean on one side and a lush jungle pierced by blue lagoons, natural canals and water-filled sinkholes on the other. The plane turned slowly, giving them an excellent view of the breath-taking landscape, before heading inland.

When the ocean was a distant line on the horizon the 'no smoking' light began to flash and ding.

"That's our cue." Ruth said, and she turned the handle on the door and lifted it with one powerful arm.

They waited until the door was locked in place fully open and for Ruth to wave them forward. The brief internal tornado that pulled at the rabbit's ears and their loose glide suits had already subsided by the time that Zac stepped into the doorway.

"The jet has a high tail so just drop straight down." Ruth yelled in his ear. And then, as he gripped the sides of the door to fling himself out she added, "Good luck"

Zac nodded in response and jumped. The others followed at two second intervals. When the last tail was clear of the door Ruth hauled it shut and sealed it again. Then she ran to the widow and checked to see if all four had recovered to begin the long glide to the target area. It was difficult to pick them out but once she spotted one it was easy to locate the other three.

Ruth walked to the front of the plane and knocked on the cabin door. It opened and she stepped in.

"There're away safely." She told the pilot.

"Good. Now for a quick stop in Belize and then we should be back in El Paso in time for AGT."

"Actually," Ruth said as she leaned against the doorway chewing on the claw of her pinky, "Isn't there a VIP airport outside of Tulum that can handle this jet?"

"The one in the luxury community, Opus Magnum? Yeah, but we're not cleared to land there. It's not part of the plan."

"Change of plan. The boss said that the plane is mine, no questions asked, for today?" The armadillo nodded slowly. "Good. I'd like you to take me to Tulum. Tell them that Warren Buffet is on board and his personal nurse needs to deplane to ... to pick up some senior incontinence products."

"Adult diapers?"

"Sure, he's ninety-three, they'll believe you. Once I'm on the ground I'll tell them that Warren is interested in investing but wants me to check out the health care situation first. I'll send the diapers back onboard and then you two can carry on."

"What do we tell the authorities in Belize?"

"Nothing. Refuel here while I deal with the airport authorities and radio to Belize that you were notified that the medevac was cancelled due to patient death."

"The boss isn't going to like this when he finds out, Sticks."

"Yeah ... well, I'll deal with that when I get back stateside." If I get back stateside, she reminded herself.

"Your Funeral." Marco said as he banked the plane out over the Caribbean to circle back to Mexico.

"Yeah." she sighed. "What else is new?"

"Hey, pretty lady." The co-pilot spoke up for the first time since takeoff. "There's still time to check out the reclining chairs in the passenger cabin, if'n you catch my drift."

Ruth slapped him hard on the back of the head, but not too hard. One had to admire his tenacity.

"Come see me in my village on Nation if I'm still alive in two weeks." She told the horny hare. "We'll talk about it."

* * * * * * * *

The glide from the jet to the target area was thrilling with some of the most amazing scenery that Violet had ever seen. It was so thrilling that she kept in position behind Zac and followed his path without variation. She didn't even try a loop or a barrel roll, she was so caught up in the silent flight in the glide suit over the raw beauty of Sian Ka'an.

She saw Zac hold his paw up with the digits spread. Five seconds to target. She copied the signal for those behind her, even though all their GPS devices would be beeping rapidly like hers. Three seconds later Zac closed his fist and spread his arms and legs to break hard. Violet did the same.

The maneuver almost brought her to a dead stop four hundred feet above the verdant green jungle. She pulled her chute as soon as gravity re-exerted itself and steered to follow Zac, who was headed for a small clearing they had picked out from satellite imagery. The lid of the last shaft connecting to Rasielle's suspected lair was supposed to be in the center of the clearing.

The small sports chutes had the same colour scheme as the suits, sky blue on the bottom and dark green on top. As soon as they hit the ground the four agents flattened themselves against the ground and gathered their chutes under them. Then they lay still for a full minute, observing and listening.

Once the minute had passed Zac signalled for a search of the clearing and they began crawling around a sector of the clearing searching for surveillance devices and booby traps. Finding neither they gathered at the lid covering the entrance to the shaft.

"According to Mexican Government records this is supposed to be a simple wooden cover." Zac told the others. "But this looks like leaded steel, and it's anchored in concrete. Rasielle must have put it here to keep the air in and the radiation out."

"Let's blow it." Violet suggested eagerly, digging in her pack for a shape charge that would blow a hole big enough for them to drop through.

"No." Zac put out a paw to stop her. "Its too noisy and we don't know what's at the bottom of the shaft. We'll burn a small hole and check the underside with the flex camera. If its clear we can cut a bigger section and lift it off."

"My way's quicker."

"And Zac's way is safer." Kyroo injected. "This isn't like Yellowknife." He told Violet. "We don't have to play this by ear ... yet."

Violet stared at the fox for a moment before conceding. "Well, when we do you better stand back 'cause I'm going to blow up some serious shit."

Even Zac smiled at that. "When the time is right I'll help you light the fuse ... but for now, pass the acid."

The camera did indeed reveal an anti-tamper device, but it was a simple one that could be deactivated by snipping the wires. After that they were able to use a combination of acid and an electric saw to cut a hole big enough for them to drop down the shaft.

"You go first, Violet." Zac said, using her first name for the first time. "Use the camera when you get close and let us know how things look."

"You got it, Boss."

They had brought enough rope for a hundred-meter descent, although they hardly needed half of it to reach the chamber below. Being so close to the surface Bill Hanlan suspected that it would not be used until the radiation levels had dropped a bit. As such they were expecting it to be empty.

Violet descended slowly and steadily, using night goggles and what little light came down the shaft from the hole they had cut to pick her way. She could have just dropped most of the way and caught herself when she emerged in the open chamber but that would be reckless, and she wanted to prove to Zac that she could be serious when it counted.

And she could be serious, she told herself, when she had to be. She had been very serious when she was the one in charge, like in Yellowknife when she ran the saloon-bordello and managed the illegal diamond pipeline. Sort of in charge, she had to admit. The Yakuza were really in charge, but they trusted her because she handled their business seriously, until Zac and Kyroo came along anyway.

"The cave is not empty but there are no signs of life here either." She reported after sweeping the chamber with the low light googles and infrared detectors. "There are some signs of construction, but it looks like they're just storing stuff her for future use."

"Get on the floor and make a personal sweep while we come down." Zac told her. If it's all clear we'll meet you by the link to the next chamber on the seaward side."

They found Violet crouching behind a wooden crate with the markings of a Bio-Med company stenciled on the side.

"This looks like the stuff Hanlan briefed us on, the kit for making artificial wombs." Violet observed. "From the number of crates, I'd guess that it's all here."

"That fits the analysis that Rasielle was going to use her live surrogates first and breed in bulk later." Natasha pointed out.

"Kyroo, you and Natasha set enough charges to bring the roof down on this stuff." Zac ordered. "Even if we can't stop her rocket we can fuck up her plan to repopulate the Earth with her descendants. Violet and I will scout ahead."

The wolf and poodle moved forward carefully, one always covering the other. It was obvious that the tunnels linking the caverns had been widened and leveled, making the going easy but leaving little cover should anyone come along. Without signaling they each slung their assault rifles and pulled out silenced pistols.

The second cavern was much like the first, but further along in its renovations. It looked like it was going to be a living area, with roughed in shower and toilet facilities where a spring provided pleasingly warm water.

"The nursery for the first generation, perhaps." Kyroo speculated when he and Natasha rejoined them.

"Probably." Zac agreed. "Look, there is the shaft leading up to the surface."

"Do you think it's capped like the first one?" Natasha asked.

"Probably, which means that the transmissions will be blocked by lead and steel." Zac frowned. "I wish there was a way to be sure without climbing up there to check.

Violet pointed to Natasha's modified tommy gun. "I know a way, but we'll have to check the next tunnel first."

Zac considered the risk for a moment. "Okay, Wait five minutes then light up the shaft with a flare and f you have a clear line of sight to the top hit it with a few rounds. If it's steel you'll hear it and if its wood you'll see sunlight through the holes. Watch out for ricochets though."

Zac and Violet moved ahead again. They hardly heard the sound of the small-caliber sub-machine gun going off.

"I'm beginning to wonder where everyone is." Zac said.

"If it's close to rocket loading time I'd guess that they are all in the last cavern helping out." Violet suggested.

"Maybe. We'll wait for Kyroo and Natasha at the entrance to the next one. It gets tricky from there."

According to the cave maps available the next chamber had several branches, each leading to a string of smaller caves. It was impossible to know which if any Rasielle was using. Since their main objective was in the last cavern before the sea they would either have to find a way of sealing them or worry about their rear for the rest of the trip. in the worst-case scenario Kyroo and Natasha would set up a rear guard while Zac and Violet checked out the last cavern, to flee up the first available shaft if they did not return.

Kyroo gave them the bad news. "It's thick metal like the one we cut through. There's no way the transmissions can get through, or us either. We'd have to freeclimb up two hundred feet in the dark and hope to find a place to brace ourselves while we cut through it with only the saw. That could take hours."

"And you'd be sitting ducks up there." Zac observed. He looked off into the distance for a moment. "It looks like the shaft we came down is our only choice. Do you have any explosives left?"

"Yeah. We didn't waste any on the half-finished dormitory."

When Violet and I move in to check out the next cavern you two set enough charges to close off this tunnel. Someone will have to bring whatever evidence we find back to where started and get a transmission out. They can blow this tunnel after they pass and the supply chamber once they are back on the surface."

"By someone I assume you mean my section." Kyroo said. "Or one of us, anyway. I don't want to leave you behind, so once Natasha is down the tunnel I'll blow it and then rejoin you."

"We'll deal with who goes and who stays later. Meanwhile, everyone take a detonator in case only one of us is left to go back."

Just then Zac's sharp ears picked up the sound of footsteps coming toward them.

"Damn! They must have had another tamper sensor on the lid. The shots must have set it off."

"There's a blind spot back about a hundred feet in the tunnel." Violet pointed out. "Just the kind of place I'd look for to hunt caribou on a game trail."

Zac thought furiously as the sound of several creatures walking in cadence grew louder.

"Okay, fall back. Take positions to cover the tunnel without getting in others line of fire. We'll take them alive if we can, a prisoner for interrogation would be valuable, but if there are too many of them shoot to kill with silenced weapons."

They moved back to the spot Violet had pointed out and arranged themselves to cover the tunnel. By now everyone could hear the sound of many feet, but it was impossible to tell how many or how far away due to the echo effect in the stone tunnel.

The group, when it appeared, was silhouetted by the light from the big cavern behind them and their eyes had not adjusted to the dim light of the tunnel, so Zac's team saw them before they saw the agents. There were six creatures in the group, all large canines, all females, all dressed in white robes, and all armed with Russian assault rifles. There was no way they could take them on paw-to-paw, Zac realized. He raised his silenced pistol to fire but before he could pull the trigger he was blinded by a burst of fire above and behind him.

When his eyes cleared he saw that all six of the security force were down, flopped on the floor and against the wall of the tunnel in awkward positions. Each had a number of red holes in their robes and all of their eyes were glazed over.

Zac turned and saw Natasha holding the tommy gun in a death grip, with her teeth clamped together and her lips drawn back. He gently reached around and tilted the smoking muzzle up toward the roof then flicked the safety catch back on.

"You okay Nats?"

"That's the first time I've had to kill someone who wasn't engaged in trying to kill me." She replied through clenched teeth.

"They would have been." Kyroo, who had bent to check the guards for signs of life said. "These AKs are locked and loaded and ready for action."

"Yeah, but that tommy gun did a number on those fuckers." Violet said with admiration. "Looks like they took about ten rounds each in under a second, each one right through the chest and out the other side." She turned to Zac with her paws together like she was praying. "Please, promise me I can have one when we get back to FOX?"

Zac ignored her and the string of swear words that followed. Natasha looked a little ill, but she shook it off quickly and began preparing charges for the tunnel. Zac was just about to order the other two to search the bodies when a radio crackled to life.

Zac didn't recognize the language. "What was that, German?" He asked.

"Sounds like old Russian." Violet replied as she dug the radio out from under one of the dead canines. "The cult that Rasielle recruited her surrogates from was an offshoot of the Doukhobors, a fundamental Christian pacifist group that left Russia to avoid service in the imperial army. They mainly settled in western Canada and Alaska and still speak an old form of Russian to this day."

"Some pacifists." Kyroo said, toeing one of the AK-74s.

"Like I said, a breakaway sect, like the 'Sons of Freedom' who used violence to fight forms of modernism. They destroyed a lot of gas-powered threshers, burnt a lot of schools and bombed government offices when British Colombia tried to force their kids to go to regular school. Local cops soon learned not to fuck with 'em."

The radio cackled again.

"They are asking for an update." Violet translated.

"You can understand them?" Zac asked, a little shocked.

Violet grinned in a way that showed all her teeth. "Better than that." She pressed the switch on the radio and began coughing, then she began speaking in something that sounded like the language that was coming from the radio. When she was done there was a long speech from the other end, which Violet acknowledged before putting the radio in a pocket of her tactical vest.

"What did you tell them?" Zac asked anxiously.

"Made like I was choking and told them that a rock had come loose from the shaft, starting a small avalanche. Said that there was no damage. Just lots of dust. The female on the other end said that she would send a team to check the security of the lid tomorrow, but for the patrol we just shot to check the far caverns in case there was a similar collapse there. After that they were supposed to continue patrolling the far caverns until loading was complete."

"Loading? Loading what?"

"She didn't say, and I thought better than to ask, but my bet would be she was talking about the submarine."

"Wow." Zac was impressed. "I didn't know you could speak old Russian."

Violet winked. "I have talents you haven't dreamed of kid."

"Evidently. Well, if it is the sub they're loading then we need to get moving, but first we need to hide these bodies, in case there's another patrol around."

No one argued with his logic, and they busied themselves with dragging the bodies back to the dormitory chamber and hiding them behind a stack of unassembled bunk beds. Then they moved quickly back to the cavern that formed the central hub of the local system.

This chamber was much more advanced than the previous two. There were clearly marked pathways and signs indicating living quarters to the left, medical facilities and laboratories to the right, and the underground lagoon straight ahead, as well as several other tunnels leading in other directions. None of them had doors or barriers or any kind.

"We can't close off all these passages," Zac observed, "and the lid on the shaft up there is bound to be sealed the same as the others."

"So, we go to Plan B." Kyroo said, nodding. "Natasha and I will take a position at the entrance to the tunnel leading to the lagoon and stop anyone that heads in that direction while you and Violet sneak down there and see if you can get some evidence of Rasielle's plot."

"Don't we have enough already?" Natasha asked as she twisted the handles of the tommy gun in her paws.

"No." Zac answered. "All we know for sure is that Rasielle has built a cult colony underground, possibly without the Mexican Government's approval, and plans to expand it utilizing reproductive technology of questionable legality. The same kind of thing happens down here all the time, and the authorities only intervene if their activities interfere with tourism or Mexico's public image. That's not enough to get the allies to act. We need proof that she has the rocket or the gravity bomb, preferably both."

"And then we fuck their shit up." Violet said with eager glee.

"And then we get the evidence out, because the odds of us stopping her here and now are very, very slim. But once the evidence is safely away, yes, we will proceed to fuck their shit up good."

"Alright."

Zac nodded. "Everyone good to go? We need to stay undetected as long as possible, but let's plant a few nuisance charges as we go, just to spread confusion once the shit hits the fan."

The four moved out, one looking in each direction as they crossed the central cavern. When they were on the other side, in the entrance to the tunnel leading to the lagoon, Zac motioned for the others to go back and plant some explosives where reinforcements were likely to cross. Then he watched Kyroo and Natasha settle into position before signaling Violet to move ahead.

This tunnel was large enough to move heavy equipment along it and it was reinforced with concrete. The lights and wires were suspended from the ceiling and the walls and floor were smooth, with no nooks or crannies to stuff an explosive charge into. Because of that Zac and Violet had left most of the charges with Kyroo and Natasha, taking most of the grenades instead in case they had to make a fighting withdrawal.

They could sense a large open space ahead when they came across several small fabricated tunnels running perpendicular to the main route. One of these was marked 'Ventilation System' and Zac indicated they should turn there. The constructed tunnel led them to a set of stairs then turned back toward the seaward side before ending in a large room carved out of the rock.

The room was filled with control panels and screens indicating the status of the various fans and vents. Some were marked 'Outside Air' and those were currently open. Others marked 'Recirculation' and 'Oxygen Generators' were red, indicating they were offline. Along with the controls there was a schematic of the entire complex with digital displays of each caverns' oxygen level, temperature and humidity. There was also a large window giving a view of the large cavern beyond, but it would be risky to show themselves there.

Zac took out his camera and snapped a few pictures of the setup, then he noticed something in the far corner. He caught Violet's attention and pointed to a locker where there were several white robes like the ones the females they killed had been wearing. Violet nodded and crawled over to pull two of them down. She also snagged a rope mop and a cleaning rag on her way back. Zac raised his eyebrows as she approached.

"My purple mohawk and your military cut wouldn't fool a blind monkey." Violet explained as she tied the colorful dust rag over her hair. Then she removed the mophead from the handle and spread it over Zac's head before tossing him the larger of the two robes.

"There you go." She said, taking out her camera and snapping a picture of Zac in the makeshift wig before he could object. "One for the gallery in the Agent's Lounge, assuming we make it back to have a celebratory drink there."

"You know, Silver has killed people for less."

"You're no Silver Zac, and I don't mean that as an insult. You've seen some shit but you'll never have the demons that are driving that fox ... if you're lucky. You've got your own style, and it works, so don't go changing it for something you can't and don't want to have to live up to."

Zac smiled reflectively. "Thanks Violet. I guess it takes someone so down to earth to bring one back down to ground level."

"Aw fuck, don't go getting all sentimental on me Boss. Let's see what we got here."

Grabbing clipboards from a rack on the wall they moved to the widow. Down below them they could see a vast cavern that unlike the other caves was abuzz with activity. There was a contingent of the white clad females surrounding someone dressed in concealing black robes near the entrance of the main tunnel. Another group of creatures dressed in somber blacks and greys was gathered on the edge of the most clear, azure bodies of water Zac or Violet had ever seen. Between the two groups there were cranes and crates and tractors and racks of instruments. Most importantly, however, was the submarine that was half-submerged in the underground lagoon.

It was huge and black, and it was split down the middle with each half folded to the sides, leaving the main cargo deck exposed. On that deck was a long, white rocket with the red rectangle and five gold stars of the Chinese flag on its nose. Other than the rocket the deck was empty, and the twin halves of the sub's hull were closing. The submarine was also moving slowly backwards.

"We're too late." Zac hissed as he hastily snapped images of the sub and its cargo.

"Let's go light them up." Violet snarled, stowing her camera and replacing it with her assault weapon.

Zac grabbed her arm. "No. We have nothing that can take out a submarine. It's already too far away for our guns to do anything to it. We need proof of what it's carrying." Using his clipboard to cover his movements Zac began recording all the crates and frames sitting on the floor of the cavern near the water.

"That crate has American ordinance markings." He said as he focused and zoomed in close on one open crate. "I'll bet the gravity bomb was in it. And those boxes over there have UK flags stenciled on them. The heat panels must have been in them. They must have just finished assembling and loading the payload on the rocket. Damn, I was hoping they would refuel it here before heading out. At least then we could have used the incendiary bombs to start a fire that would ignite the liquid oxygen and blow the whole works to hell."

"And us too, I'm guessing?"

"I, uh, would have sent you back with the others while I stayed back to set them off."

"And grab all the glory yourself, knowing I don't dare post the picture of you in the mop wig once you're a martyr, you selfish bastard. Well, get your photos and let's get them back to Kyroo and Natasha so they can run them back to the last shaft. And then," she continued with a gleam in her eye, "we can see if we can't sneak up on that figure in black surrounded by guards and light up her life a little.

Zac grinned. "Almost done. I just need a few shots of the North Koreans to seal the deal." He raised his camera again and Violet heard the subdued clicks and the whirr of the zoom lens as he collected images of the Korean rocket technicians.

"There ..." he began, but he was interrupted by a noise from the doorway behind them.

With no camera to encumber her Violet turned and fired instinctively. Two Korean technicians who had come up to adjust the humidity to a more comfortable level now that the payload was safely away and their cultist escort cried out in surprise as a burst of 5.56 mm cut them in half.

Both Zac's and Violets ears were ringing as the sound of the rounds reverberated off the metal surfaces in the room.

"Oops." Violet cringed. "Should have used the silenced pistol."

Zac looked down at the floor of the cavern and saw many faces looking back at them. The technicians were pointing their digits at the window, but the females in white were pointing their assault rifles. He ducked just before the window disappeared in a shower of shards. One more quick glance confirmed that the figure in black, who he suspected was Rasielle, was fleeing into the tunnel in the middle of a small group of guards.

"We need to go, now!" He shouted as he dropped to the floor and crawled quickly towards the door.

"I'll clear the way." Violet shouted back, jumping over him as bullets flew around her. In an instant she was clear of the window and headed down the stairs with her assault weapon ready to engage anything that moved.

She met two of the armed guards coming up the stairs and took them both out before they realized she was not one of them.

"These robes are really useful." She told Zac as they sipped over the bodies.

"Better remember to take it off before we run into Kyroo and Natasha." Zac pointed out. He had ditched the mop wig as it kept flopping into his line of sight.

First they turned toward the lagoon, crouching at the edge of the big cavern to see what was going on out there. All the Korean technicians were gathered on the edge of the underground lake, trying to hide behind some equipment crates. They were the only living creatures in sight, the female surrogates apparently having fled. At the far end of the lagoon the sub's clamshell doors had shut completely, and it was starting to descend.

"Nothing we can do here." Zac said with resignation. "We need to get the camera back to the last cavern and cover Natasha as she takes it up to the surface.

"Then we can blow the place?"

"Yes. Then we can blow the place."

They made their way back down the tunnel toward the central chamber. When they drew near they passed several bodies, all wearing the surrogate robes. Some were armed and some were not, but most had holes similar to those made by Natasha's tommy gun.

"That thing doesn't discriminate between servants and guards." Violet observed. Some of the dead surrogates looked very young, just in their teens.

"Anything in a white robe should be considered hostile until proven otherwise." Zac said, but there was a note of sadness in his voice.

When they reached the second cavern Kyroo and Natasha were nowhere to be seen, just more bodies. Some were piled by the entrance where a grenade had got them. Others were strewn across the floor on the cave, literally in the case of those who got too close to one of Kyroo's nuisance explosives. Others were dead or dying of gunshots.

"Should we, uh, finish them off?" Violet asked, her voice trembling a bit. She had no qualms about killing in the heat of battle or even shooting a dangerous enemy from a distance, but finishing off wounded teenagers was a line she would rather not cross.

To her relief Zac told her, "No. Just make sure they can't reach any or the guns laying around." Then he whistled loudly.

His call was returned by a double note from one of the minor side tunnels. Zac and Violet made their way there, collecting guns along the way.

They found Kyroo and Natasha crouching behind some wastewater containers. The heavy plastic had helped to slow down the bullets sent their way and the combination of shit, piss and shower water had stopped the shots. It was fortunate that no one was firing at them still because the bullet holes had allowed the pungent mixture to leak out and now that end of the cave smelled like an open sewer.

"Lovely spot you picked." Violet quipped as they slid in beside the others.

"It served its purpose." Kyroo replied. Then he addressed Zac. "Do you have the evidence?"

"Yes, but the sub got away, unfortunately, as did Rasielle."

"Was she the one in black?" Natasha asked.

"We think so."

"A group of her followers surrounded her and hustled her down the tunnel to the laboratories. The rest of the armed ones came after us and forced us back." Kyroo reported. "Since then we've had a few more try to rush us an a bunch of unarmed ones that made for the living quarters, but it's been quiet for the last couple of minutes."

"Okay. Let's fall back to the tunnel connecting this one with the deeper caverns. Violet and I Will cover you two from there until you confirm that the transmission is on its way. Natasha, give Violet the tommy gun."

"Oh yeah, come to me baby." Violet was drooling in anticipation as she held out her paws.

"Are you sure Zac?" Natasha asked.

"You're the best climber here." Zac reminded the snow leopard. "I want to make sure that that balloon gets out into the open air before we go after Rasielle."

"So," Kyroo said, "we are going after Rasielle."

"Yes." Zac acknowledged. "We don't have enough explosives to take the whole place down and if we leave now Rasielle will just get away and come up with another crazy plot. Maybe next time she'll create an army of creatures like her Asset and set them loose on the world."

"Speaking of the Asset." Violet injected. "Why haven't we seen him ... her ... them ... whatever."

"Maybe they were on the sub, making sure that the rocket gets to the launch pad and away before anyone has second thoughts."

"Mmmmm, maybe."

"Enough talk." Zac declared. "Let's move."

Just as he stood up an explosion threw him back to the floor. When the dust cleared they saw that the tunnel leading deeper had collapsed.

Zac spun to confront the others, the anger clear on his face.

"Who did that?" He demanded.

Kyroo stepped forward and spoke up. "Zac, we didn't set any charges there. Ours are back at the entrance to the unfinished dorm. Rasielle must have charges built into the walls. Now we're cut off."

"Can we swim out?" Natasha asked.

No. The tunnel to the sea is over a kilometre long, all underwater." Kyroo reminded her.

"Fuck it." Zac snarled. "When we don't report back Silver will know that we failed and he'll find another way to stop that rocket. Meanwhile we can make sure that Rasielle never bothers anyone again. Follow me!"

Moving in twos they crossed the central cavern headed for the tunnel that Kyroo had seen Rasielle flee down. As soon as they got to the entrance they were greeted with small arms fire. Violet and Natasha each tossed a grenade as far down the tunnel as they could. As soon as they went off they lay down covering fire while Zac and Kyroo charged down the corridor.

Four more guards died in that encounter, and Kyroo got a flash wound under his arm from a bullet that sneaked past his body armour. Violet dressed the wound and they carried on down the tunnel.

There were several rooms along the corridor, and they had to clear them all to make sure no one popped out behind them. The quickest way to do that was to toss a grenade inside and check for bodies after. Twice they found armed guards that had been laying in ambush, and once they found the body of a young female surrogate wo had been hiding under a table.

Natasha choked and almost vomited at the sight of the teenaged casualty.

"Why did Rasielle have to bring them here?" She cried.

Violet's jaw was set at a stern angle and she said nothing. Neither did Kyroo. Zac patted his lover on the shoulder briefly before moving to the next room. He stood to one side and backhanded a grenade into it with his eyes fixed on the far wall.

"Clear." He reported after sticking his head in. "Kyroo, take the next one."

Natasha was dreading her turn and was somewhat relieved when a group of females in white robes counterattacked at the next intersection. There was a brief firefight that saw Natasha hit twice, both times in the chest where her body armour was thickest. The opposition had no such protection, however, and Violet cut them down like wheat with the modified tommy gun. Her gun went silent when there was only one guard left and the canine took the opportunity to run back the way they had come.

Violet dropped the empty drum to the floor and snapped on another. One left to go, she thought.

"Rasielle must be down that way." Zac pointed where the guard had run. "Kyroo, you and Natasha stay here in case it's a trap. Violet, come with me."

The two raced down the twisting corridor, pausing for the briefest of moments at each blind spot to check for an ambush. At the last turn they saw three guards facing back their way with assault rifles ready. They jumped back to safety as the armed surrogates opened fire. A pair of grenades silenced them.

Zac peered around the corner. The three canines were down in a bloody pile. To his shock, Rasielle was standing directly behind them, a sardonic grin on her burnt face.

Zac touched Violet and they both jumped up and ran full speed toward Rasielle, firing as they went.

Zac skidded to a halt when he noticed all their bullets were ricocheting of an invisible barrier. Violet stopped firing around the same time as one of their own bullets screamed past her ear.

"What the fuck?"

They could not hear her, but the cat-bat was obviously laughing at them through a bullet-proof glass barrier. She reached out with one scarred and wrinkled arm to flick a switch on the wall and the two agents heard the last of her chortles over an amplified circuit.

"Idiots." Rasielle sneered at them. "Just stand there and let you morons kill me, you think?"

"Watch who you're calling a moron." Violet said as she dug in her pack for her last explosive charge.

"Recall the sub and we'll let you go." Zac said, trying to sound convincing.

"Let me go?" Rasielle barked out with laughter. "Have me you don't!"

"There is no other way out, Rasielle."

"Oh, one other way there is." The mad hermaphrodite giggled. She reached up, exposing the tattered remains of her wings, and pulled a lever. A section of the rock behind her slid aside with a grinding noise, exposing a metallic cylinder with a padded chair inside it. Rasielle stepped inside the capsule before turning back to the glass wall.

"More than one rocket I have stolen." She announced. "This small one to the surface will shoot me, and many miles inland where find me other agents of mine will. Other liars I have, and many more followers."

Zac pounded on the glass in frustration. Violet brought out a prepared charge and made to stick it to the middle of the pane.

Rasielle was laughing again. "Try, if you want. Wait for you to do so I will."

Zac put out a paw to stop Violet. "Don't bother." He told her, pointing to the floor where it could be seen that the glass wall was almost a paw-span thick. "I saw stuff like this at the ballistic labs. We'd need a dozen charges to even dent it."

Violet swore and disarmed thee charge before throwing it across the tunnel.

"Where are you going to go now Rasielle?" Zac yelled. "How are you going to survive your solar flare and breed your army of mutants now, eh?"

"Expose my plans I will not." Rasielle said with a sneer of distain. "Stupid or egotistical I am not. Enjoy your last few minutes as my guests you should. A part of it you are about to become."

With that Rasielle reached over and pressed an ominous red button behind her head. Immediately red lights started flashing and a siren began to wail. Rasielle slammed the door of her capsule shut and the rock wall began to close. When it was shut a line of fire and smoke could be seen where it met the floor, and the sound of a rocket launching could be heard over the intercom.

"Aren't the evil geniuses supposed to reveal their criminal plan before they try to kill us?" Violet asked. "I'm sure that came up in basic training."

"Rasielle is a special case." Zac answered. Then turned to start jogging back up the tunnel.

"What do you think that button was for?" Violet wondered. "And that bit about 'becoming part of her hideout?"

"It wasn't an invitation to become a member of her club." Zac said. He called out as they neared Kyroo and Natasha's position so they did not shoot them by accident.

Zac filled the others in as they ran across the central cavern and headed for the lagoon chamber.

"How long do you think we have?" Natasha asked.

"A few minutes." Zac guessed. Then they all heard an explosion deep inside the cave system, quickly followed by another, closer one. "Maybe less."

They cam to a halt at the edge of the water. The far side of the lagoon was four hundred meters away, and then there was a kilometre-long submerged tunnel before they could surface for air.

More explosions were going off inside the caverns, and each one was a little closer than the last.

"Zac, what do we do?" Violet screamed above the noise of tumbling rock behind them.

"Dive in, swim to the far end and dive. When everything settles we can try to dig our way back to the surface." He shouted back.

"Do you think that will work?"

"No." He screamed. "But it's the only option we have."

Zac took a step into the water. Violet pulled him back and planted a rough kiss on his muzzle.

"It's been nice working for you Zac. See you in the next life."

She made to dive in but before she could launch herself a loud explosion came from directly above them. They looked up, just in time to seethe sky fall in on them.
