As soon as the person entered, they hurried inside as quickly as possible, as if in a panic.

It was a drampa, exhausted and sweating like he ran a marathon to get here.

"There's... Huff... An intruder on the docks! And he took... *pant*... Out many of our guards! You must... Huff... Come right away!" The drampa told them, barely able to get a sentence out as he panted.

Everyone looked concerned, thinking they had been found out.

"What does this person look like? I'll need all the details" Unnerve asked the drampa.

"The only thing we know from what we saw was the species. We don't know what species the other one is but it's some sort of blue dinosaur, but the other one is a charizard" The drampa said, after regaining his breath.

SnipeS and Kain made eye contact with each other, confused, but had an inkling of a clue of what may be going on, which Unnerve had noticed.

"You know something don't you SnipeS?" Unnerve asked him.

"I believe it's the number one hero, Inferno" SnipeS explained to him.

"Why the hell would he be there!?" Unnerve, in a fit of rage, chucked a nearby chair in a random direction away from everyone.

"And how would destroying furniture solve the problem?" SnipeS reacted negatively, getting sick of Unnerve's temper.

"Heh, what the other chiefs said about Unnerve must be true" Vern smirked at him, to which Unnerve would glare at him for.

"I'm so sorry on behalf of Vern, I don't think he means it like that. Please believe me" Gabu said, defending Vern in case Unnerve decided to take his anger out on Vern this time.

Unnerve screamed in frustration before calming down.

"Aggggghhhhh... I'm sorry... I let my lapse in judgement get the better of me, and let my old self resurface again. I'm so sorry Nocturne, I'll try not to throw anymore chairs around" Unnerve turned towards Nocturne and apologized to him despite not being sure if he was even conscious before turning back towards SnipeS.

"So can you handle it? Can you try to persuade him to leave before he knows more?" Unnerve asked SnipeS.

"I'll try my best, although I'm utterly confused why he would be here at this time. I made sure that I wasn't followed or gave any clues to where the docks would be" SnipeS cracked the knuckles on his paw.

SnipeS turned towards Kain, but Kain already walked towards him and looked at Unnerve, Gabu, and Vern.

"Me and SnipeS will handle it as best we can. Unnerve, you should focus on making sure that nothing happens to Nocturne until we get back" Kain looked at Unnerve.

"Nobody uninvited will dare step in this room, not if I have anything to say about it" Unnerve nodded and grunted.

"We'll do our best as well, we'll watch over Nocturne and see if there's anything we can do from our location" Vern and Gabu nodded.

"Alright, take care, we'll try to see what we can find out from Inferno" SnipeS and Kain left to deal with the hero.

...

At the docks, there were a lot of pokemorphs either lying on the ground or barely standing as they battled the charizard, not standing a chance against the dragon.

"Why are you even here!?" A venusaur yelled, trying to grab him with one of his vines, only for Inferno to grab it in mid air and set his hand aflame with a fire punch, making the venusaur retract his vines in pain.

"I'm here to speak with someone" the charizard said, a bit confused.

"There is no consequence of you meeting with someone here! If you were, our boss would have said something! You're not welcome here" A primeape said before charging at him.

Inferno waited for him to get close before suddenly grabbing his arm and flipping him over on his shoulder and slamming him on the ground.

"Augh!" The primeape groaned in pain from the flip he received.

"Sorry for being rough on you, but I need answers" Inferno apologized before looking at his partner who was getting charged by another member.

Before the Jolteon could get to Sleuth, Sleuth had sidestepped and let the speed of the Jolteon slam headfirst into a wall, knocking it out.

"Are you alright Sleuth?" Inferno asked him.

"I'm fine" Sleuth replied.

Inferno nodded and focused back his attention towards the pokemorphs coming for him, using air cutter to knock them away.

Some had managed to dodge the attack and tried to attack him, only for Inferno to use fire spin and trap them in a tornado of fire.

"Fuck! It's so hot!" The pokemorphs had said as they shielded themselves using their arms.

Inferno finished them off by firing his signature move, inferno, making the tornado explode into a ball of fire, knocking the pokemon trapped in it out.

"Sorry, but I'm not gonna let you stop me" Inferno said to all of the unconscious pokemon.

Inferno noticed that one of them was still conscious, and grabbed him in a headlock.

"Now, where is your leader? I need to speak to him" Inferno interrogated the barely conscious member.

Before the member could answer anything, a gun went off and shot near his feet.

Inferno traced the direction of the shot as a figure emerged from the hangar.

SnipeS appeared with water dripping from his finger.

"Hello Inferno, any reason why you're here?" SnipeS casually asked him.

Inferno was even more confused now with the presence of SnipeS in the vicinity, still keeping the guard held in a headlock.

"And what are you doing here? What's going on? Were you following me?" Inferno refused to answer the question as he kept his guard up.

SnipeS stretched his hands out towards him in a stopping motion to show that he meant no harm, for now at least.

"Inferno, just calm down and let that guard go. Nobody's here to hurt you, I can assure you that with all the guards around here" SnipeS promised him.

Inferno let his grip loosen, letting the guard go who had fallen unconscious at the time that SnipeS had arrived, falling onto the ground next to Inferno.

"Sorry..." Inferno apologized to the guard before sternly looking at SnipeS.

"So is this some kind of game you've made? Are you the leader of all these criminals here?" Inferno asked SnipeS.

"I'm not their leader, but I do want to talk... If you let me that is" SnipeS told him.

Inferno crossed his arms together, defiant and suspicious of his old friend, while Sleuth walked beside Inferno

"Hello SnipeS!" Sleuth waved a hand towards SnipeS.

"Hello Sleuth" SnipeS waved back.

Kain entered the hangar through a door, and joined in next to SnipeS.

"Hi Sleuth, hi Inferno" Kain greeted them.

Inferno and Sleuth waved back at Kain.

"Kain, do you know what's going on here? You're always together aren't you? Maybe you'd be more open to questions than SnipeS here. The governor made me spy on the chiefs and made me do something I regret, so please, tell me something if you're hiding anything" Inferno asked Kain.

"I have no idea what the governor wants, but SnipeS did as he was asked if that's what you're wondering" Kain told Inferno.

"I'll be honest, I felt uneasy being made to do something so shady, snooping around the police station and following Chief Unnerve and that Ace fellow around. I honestly have no idea why he's so interested in me following them around or what they're doing" SnipeS shrugged.

Upon hearing Ace's name, Inferno felt himself shift slightly, which SnipeS noticed.

"So... Do you have anything you know about that fire bunny? Since we last spoke, I haven't seen the fire bunny around for a while" SnipeS smirked at him.

"I have no idea where he is, but for now that's not what I care. What I do care about is what's going on. Starting with what you're doing here" Inferno asked SnipeS.

"Yeah, me and Inferno just want answers, that's all. I hope the both of you can help with that at least. We've been friends for a while, just like Inferno and SnipeS had been. So I hope you don't keep any secrets from me" Sleuth chimed in while looking at Kain.

"Yes, it's better for us to calmly figure out what's going on before things become drastic. Believe me I don't know what's going on here as well" Kain lied to Sleuth.

"Look, I don't trust anybody here. After what happened the past few days, and up until now, I became weary of everything. Yes SnipeS, you're my best friend, but right now my trust in you is wavering since I don't know why the fuck you're here. And don't think you're not in the same boat Kain. It's not that I don't trust the both of you, it's just that I'm confused with these turn of events. Right now the only person I can trust fully is Sleuth" Inferno sighed as he stared at the both of them.

Inferno looked at Sleuth and smiled, causing Sleuth to blush.

"I understand what you're going through Inferno, and I would feel the same if I was in your position. If anything, Kain would be the only one I'd trust as well" SnipeS chuckled while Kain leaned into SnipeS' shoulder.

Before the four of them could say anything further, the door near SnipeS opened, revealing Nocturne, who was limping as he walked, while being assisted by Unnerve.

"W-What is going on now... W-Why are you standing there with the Illusionist!?" Inferno began to stutter as Nocturne and Unnerve walked towards SnipeS and Kain.

As Nocturne walked towards them, Inferno noticed how injured and tired looking Nocturne was, who wasn't even in any shape or form to fight in.

"Please! Just someone tell me what the hell is going on here before I succumb to a fucking migraine!" Inferno screamed at them.

Although he was injured and couldn't speak well, Nocturne began speaking.

"Yes, I am the Illusionist, the one that a lot of the police force have been trying to arrest. I have answers that you seek, and I will be more than happy to disclose them if you're willing to talk inside... Agh..." Nocturne clutched his head and yelled a bit in pain.

"Ugh, you're in this condition and yet you come out here just for going to the trouble of introducing yourself" Unnerve said, annoyed that they went through all this trouble of having Nocturne come here despite telling him to keep resting before coming here.

"Well I had to so that I could show Inferno the kind of person that I am and not to hide anything from me" Nocturne smiled at Unnerve.

Unnerve sighed before giving a death stare at Inferno.

"Yes, I am Chief Unnerve, come inside the hangar and we'll talk if you want the answers you're looking for. If you don't want to, feel free to leave" Unnerve said to Inferno as he and Nocturne walked inside the hangar.

SnipeS chuckled as Inferno stood silently, not sure what to think before his paw was grabbed by SnipeS and led to the hangar.

"Come on, unless you want the trip you came here to be wasted" SnipeS said as he made him follow Nocturne and Unnerve.

Kain did the same to Sleuth, taking his paw and leading him inside.

"I've been wanting to tell you about it for a long time! I'm glad you're getting to know about this now" Kain told Sleuth as they entered.

Inferno hesitated to head in, but gave in since he was seeking answers, and who better to get it from but the Illusionist himself. He still had some trust in SnipeS if he was joining someone like the Illusionist, and followed him to find out what SnipeS' intentions were.

Once they were inside, Nocturne stood behind a desk, while Unnerve assisted him, holding him by his side.

"Welcome, both of you. Why don't you both take a seat then?" Nocturne gestured over to both Inferno and Sleuth.

Inferno took a seat in front of Nocturne, right next to Sleuth. He looked over at Sleuth, who just nodded his head to him.

Inferno nodded back at Sleuth before looking over at SnipeS and Kain.

"Don't worry, we're just here to talk. We're not gonna fight you" SnipeS told the both of them.

"We just need to discuss some things with you" Kain joined in.

"I know not to mess with you since you're the best hero around, if that's what you're thinking" SnipeS tried to assure him.

"I'll try to refrain from committing any violence, as long as you keep your word" Inferno nodded in response.

"I know, and I'll try to do the same. I wouldn't want to damage our friendship after you just found out about this" SnipeS replied.

Inferno then looked at Nocturne and Unnerve, wondering what exactly he had in mind for him and Sleuth.

"Again, I am the Illusionist, but you may call me Nocturne instead since "Illusionist" seems to be far more favorable for people who dislike me" Nocturne requested Inferno.

"Yes... You may call me Inferno then, since most people call me by that name already" Inferno greeted him.

"And you can call me Sleuth! Since that's what I'm known for pretty much anything" Sleuth chimed in.

"And as you may both know by now, Unnerve is the police chief that has been assisting me so far, but I will get to that in a bit. I probably don't need to introduce SnipeS and Kain to the both of you since you both know each other already" Nocturne said.

"Yes, it's a pleasure to see some familiar places here, but until I know what your real intentions are, I can only place some level of trust around them for now, so I want to know what's going on, mainly the rooftop incident. I want to know all the details involved" Inferno nodded.

"The rooftop incident is still a complete mystery to me, but I will answer to the best of my abilities" Nocturne smiled.

"I apologize for what I have done to you, but I was under direct orders from Governor Jalorda himself, so I couldn't refuse knowing that it might have been something important" Inferno apologized to Nocturne.

"Heh, I had a feeling that Governor Jalorda was responsible for that. But I don't hold it against you, you were kept in the dark about what he was up to. You were only doing what you were told, and thought you were working for the greater good, am I right? To be honest, I have no idea why I was kidnapped, but I do know that Governor Jalorda wants me dead. For what reason, I have no idea, but he seems to have some genuine hatred for me" Nocturne chuckled as he gave his answer to Inferno.

Inferno then slammed his fists from finding out what he was ordered for.

"That... That can't be... I assisted in something like that...?" Inferno couldn't believe he was tricked into doing something so questionable.

"I'm only speaking about what I saw, he never outright explained himself to me. But he did seem to have injured me, mixed with strong emotions too so he has to know me personally. He somehow saw through my ruse as a foreign officer, and got attacked by him" Nocturne then showed Inferno the bandages covering his sides, still covered with fresh blood on them, although not as much as before.

"I do believe you on that matter, but I still want to know why Governor Jalorda even attacked you" Inferno asked again, cringing at the sight of the bandaged wounds that Nocturne had.

Nocturne took a deep breath and looked at Inferno squarely into his eyes.

Inferno was taken aback, unsure of what Nocturne was up to, wondering if he had somehow offended him.

"What's going on? Did I offend you somehow?" Inferno asked Nocturne.

"Whenever I look directly into someone's eyes, I have the ability to see who the person is... And I see a charizard fighting for true justice and being proud of it" Nocturne smiled and explained to him.

SnipeS chuckled while Nocturne continued looking through Inferno's eyes.

"I try to look into another's eyes to see who I can trust with information and if I see anything suspicious. If I do, I have to withhold information until I see your true self" Nocturne explained further.

"Wow really? In all my time doing detective work, I've never seen anybody come with any ability close to yours!" Sleuth commented, amazed by Nocturne's ability.

"I find that hard to believe however" Inferno commented, doubting the authenticity of the ability.

"I felt the same way during the police raid, but Nocturne rescued me from myself and brought me back to my senses" Unnerve joined in.

"Are you ready for the answer that you seek? Nocturne asked him.

"I'll try not to do anything rash while we're talking" Inferno nodded at Nocturne.

"I had this plan to take the government over, but knew that it would be impossible by myself. So I recruited SnipeS by having Kain join me, and he did so willingly once he heard about it. I then tricked SnipeS, disguising myself as Lieutenant Gabu in order for him to come here and using Kain as bait to lure him in further. Once I gave him the choice, he joined us. We all agreed to work with each other because of our shared goals. And then I recruited someone from the station to help set up the raid" Nocturne explained.

"Ugh, I still can't believe how you did that" Unnerve rolled his eyes.

Nocturne then kissed Unnerve on the cheek, causing a surprised reaction from Inferno and Sleuth.

"W-What..." Inferno muttered while Sleuth gave a quiet gasp.

"Sorry for my display of affection, force of habit" Nocturne apologized.

"Everything in this room will be kept a secret, and I will reserve my judgment after you finish explaining things to me" Inferno told him, not wanting to seem judgmental to him.

"Thank you. Now as for the raid that occurred, my goal was to recruit Unnerve to my team. He helped me from one of the lowest points of my life, and then I spent my days trying to meet with him again. With the help of everyone in the raid, I was able to see the same officer I met once again" Nocturne continued before looking into Unnerve's eyes, who smiled back at him, showing a fierce, but loving haxorus who cares for those around him.

"So do you have any questions?" Nocturne asked Inferno and Sleuth.

"I'm still following along, and I get most of it, but I know that there's still more to the story to why you recruited SnipeS, Kain, and Unnerve's police force specifically " Inferno shook his head.

"Yes, there is more to the story and I will answer that" Nocturne nodded.

"Wait, after the raid, Governor Jalorda asked us for our help. But more specifically, after the meeting you had with the other chiefs" Sleuth told Nocturne, who, along with Unnerve, was surprised to hear that.

"How did Governor Jalorda know about anything that we had done?" Nocturne asked Sleuth.

"Well I tried to think of every avenue possible, but it could just be that Jalorda has eyes and ears throughout the entire city" Sleuth told him.

Unnerve slammed his fists on the table after hearing that.

"That's just downright bad and unethical! What business does he have listening in on us!?" Unnerve ground his teeth together in anger.

"Unnerve please calm down. I know what emotions you're going through now but we need to keep our heads together" Nocturne warned him.

"Governor Jalorda just so happens to know too much, but I haven't the slightest idea how he knew. I honestly feel bad spying on all of you" Inferno apologized.

"Governor Jalorda certainly has a lot of power to know this, especially hiring someone like you to take this job in the first place" SnipeS commented.

Nocturne sighed before continuing with the story.

"After the annual police meeting, I knew more about the four other chiefs and first decided to recruit Chief Sorien, who I learned lacked a lot of self-confidence. After recruiting him, I moved onto Chief Seth next, who was desperate for friendship. Chief Leo had some issues accepting who he really is. And finally there was Chief Ken who was carrying burdens and expectations involving Unnerve and his position" Nocturne continued, explaining each chief's shortcomings.

"Why would you keep telling me those details about those chiefs? Isn't this too personal for you to reveal these things to me?" Inferno asked Nocturne.

"I found out that the four chiefs had some kind of fault in them or there was something that was holding them back to let them be manipulated by outside forces. With the exception of Chief Leo, I saw that the other chiefs had the shadows of their former mentors in their eyes. So I rescued them as well, and let them dictate their own future, and not be controlled by the former chiefs" Nocturne explained his reason.

"That does sound like a noble cause, but why rescue them? This doesn't sound like this involves Governor Jalorda at all" Inferno said, still puzzled about it.

"This is where a bit of guesswork is required. You can already guess why I did all that, but as for Governor Jalorda, I don't know. But it seems that he has some sort of plan and I'm getting in the way of it" Nocturne chuckled.

"So why recruit the chiefs?" Inferno asked him.

"I recruited the others because I need help to overthrow the government," Nocturne replied.

Inferno was surprised, before slowly nodding his head.

"I plan to overthrow the government because I do not agree with the corruption throughout the city. I saw that the chiefs weren't in their right minds, and were forcibly molded by their predecessors. I still do believe in sending criminals to jail, but not to the same extent that Governor Jalorda wants" Nocturne said, stating his beliefs.

"Well... The two new laws that the Governor proposed certainly did go a bit too far" Inferno agreed with him.

"That one size fits all criminal bill isn't the way to go, so I'm going to put a stop to that. The other bill, the "gay" bill is just downright wrong. The government shouldn't be allowed to dictate who we can be. That is oppression, and the whole story about the child was probably fake and was just propaganda speech to rouse up the crowd to agree with him. I love Unnerve, and I will fight the hardest I could against it to ensure that anyone can be comfortable with their chosen partner" Nocturne squeezed Unnerve's talon.

Unnerve blushed before hugging Nocturne lightly, being careful not to accidentally hurt him.

"At first, I wanted to arrest Nocturne and tear him limb from limb. But after I got rescued by him, I wanted nothing more than to assist him as much as I could" Unnerve admitted to everyone.

"Me and Kain are never going to be able to live together, not without facing extreme prejudice" SnipeS said as he chimed in.

"And as long as the government is run this way, we will never be happy. We're working with Nocturne so we can accomplish our goals" Kain joined in.

"And with the other four chiefs in on the plan as well, they too strive for the world that I envision" Nocturne added.

"Taking over a government building is suicide, and Jalorda is a tough nut to crack. Who's to say that he won't try to go as far as killing you to stop you?" Inferno asked him.

"Then what do you think about all of this then?" Nocturne smiled at him.

"I respect your goal but there are way too many risks involved to go through with this. Wait, why are you telling me, a hero, about all of this information? Aren't you afraid I'll report you to Governor Jalorda and have you all arrested right now?" Inferno asked him.

"Hehehe, this is where my famous choices come in. I'm going to give you two choices. The first choice is that you and Sleuth can leave. Whatever information that you have learned here, I'll trust that you won't reveal anything to anybody. This also won't change your relationship with SnipeS and Kain, unless of course you feel so strongly against our plans that you'll let it get in the way. We'll still go through with raiding the government in hopes that we don't fight against each other. I respect that you still have to do your job, so if push comes to shove, I wouldn't put it past you to fight me" Nocturne chuckled as he gave him the first choice.

"And the second choice?" Inferno asked.

"You join my team, you can assist the raid by learning as much as you can, but I wouldn't pressure you to do anything out of character. All I ask is the blueprint so we can raid with as little casualties as possible" Nocturne offered him.

Inferno contemplated on the choices. He thought that both choices seemed good, but he wanted to pick one that he wouldn't regret. Governor Jalorda seemed to be getting out of hand, and leaving a bad taste in his mouth after the questionable acts he was made to do. Perhaps scary even knowing that he would injure someone just to further his goals. But he was on the side of the government, which was what he had always thought was the right side to take, which Governor Jalorda just so happened to be in. On the other hand, Nocturne was the Illusionist, someone who was wanted for not only theft, but spreading conspiracy on who was on his side. He had tricked many, including him, and persuaded key figures of the police, including his friend, SnipeS, to join him. He was asking him to do something against the government, but this could put him and Sleuth in danger. But Nocturne at the very least seemed to be more sane and level headed, and his intentions seem to be more noble than the governor seemed to have in mind.

"And what benefit do I get out of it then?" Inferno asked Nocturne.

"That benefit is whatever you would like from me. It's your choice after all" Nocturne replied.

"What's your opinion on this?" Inferno looked over at Sleuth.

"I'll follow along with whatever you decide" Sleuth smiled at him.

"We are a team, and whatever decision we make, we make together" Inferno chuckled.

At that moment, Sleuth jumped from his chair and kissed Inferno's snout, surprising Inferno before enjoying the passionate kiss before it turned into a deep one between them.

Unnerve and SnipeS looked in shock, while Kain and Nocturne smirked at the sight in front of them, before Sleuth pulled himself away from Inferno.

"What was that all about?" Inferno asked Sleuth.

"I've decided that I want to join Nocturne's team" Sleuth decided.

"What do you even hope to gain from joining him?" Inferno asked him.

"I want nothing more than to spend my entire life with you Inferno" Sleuth smiled at him.

Inferno was taken aback, unsure of how to respond to that.

"Kain and I talked a lot about each other, and Kain described his relationship with SnipeS. I want that too" Sleuth continued.

"Nocturne wants to establish a world where we can live in peace together, and not worry about being ridiculed for our relationship. And I know Sleuth wants that too" Kain added.

"And with the new law that Governor Jalorda had enacted, I want to overthrow the government before that can happen" Sleuth finished.

Inferno was a bit shocked, before calming down and leaning over and hugging Sleuth, kissing his head, before looking deeply into his eyes.

"If you want to join Nocturne, then I'll be more than happy to do so. There's nothing I want more than my partner to be happy, and I'll do whatever it takes to accomplish that. I should have seen this coming, but I wanted to keep our relationship as professional as possible" Inferno said while looking at him in the eyes.

"I wanted to keep it professional too, but Kain persuaded me that it's okay to be romantic as well. That there can be a middle ground between it" Sleuth agreed with him.

"Thank you Kain" Inferno looked at him, the sceptile nodded back in acknowledgment.

"I'll be more than happy to join your team, as long as you give us the world that Sleuth wants in return" Inferno referred to Unnerve and Nocturne.

"I'll do whatever it takes to give that world to the both of you, and for everyone else here as well" Nocturne smiled and promised him what he wanted.

Cheers went around the room as Inferno and Sleuth got recruited.

"I'm glad you're on our side now. It felt a bit difficult keeping things from you" SnipeS placed a hand on Inferno's shoulder.

"Now we can talk to each other more often, maybe you can help me invent some things that will help us accomplish our goals" Kain said giddily.

"Hmph... I'll forgive you for what you did to Nocturne, now that you're our ally at least" Unnerve puffed a bit of smoke.

Inferno and Sleuth smiled as they got accepted into the team.

"Say, how did you find out about this place anyway?" Unnerve asked him skeptically.

"Sleuth found this place, but he didn't tell me more than that" Inferno pointed at Sleuth.

Everyone's eyes went to Sleuth, making him blush a little.

Sleuth looked over at Kain, who then walked over next to him.

"I told Sleuth about this hideout" Kain admitted, shocking SnipeS, Unnerve, and Inferno.

"Why would you tell him and potentially jeopardize our mission!?" Unnerve got up from his seat and pointed an accusing finger at Kain.

"I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree with Unnerve. Why would you do that Kain?" SnipeS frowned at Kain.

"Calm down everyone, I have a perfectly good explanation for this" Nocturne told everyone to calm down.

Everyone did so, with Unnerve reluctantly sitting back down.

"It was a shocking idea to Kain at first, but I told him to do it. He told me about Sleuth, and how he had wanted to be with Inferno, but didn't gather enough courage to say anything. And with the announcement of the governor a few days ago, Sleuth had reached out again for help" Nocturne explained.

"And there was only one way for Sleuth to be with Inferno, and that is to join in on the plan and take the government over" Kain jumped in.

"I was nervous at the start knowing how notorious the Illusionist was from what I heard. But I agreed to it when I knew about how Kain was so happy with SnipeS" Sleuth said his piece.

"You didn't need to go through all that just to tell your affection for me" Inferno chuckled.

"I had to since Nocturne's goal is the only way I can live in a world that I want, and that is to be with you Inferno" Sleuth admitted to him.
