#3 of Back for Revenge

When I slept, and my dreams came, they were always the same. I had a dream after I had passed out. The dream taunted me with bad memories. Losing my parents, my friends, my family. The years of sleeping on a pillow stained with tears. I had a vision then, I saw the creature that I had been running from. Whom I feared greatly. It stood over me while I was lying on a table; it had a large spear like tool it was using to jab into my shredded shoulder. There was no mistaking it for the images were a dream, but the pain in my shoulder... it was too real, I could actually feel for a second like something was poking and prodding my shattered bones. That's when I noticed, in the eyes of this creature, that it was this one that I saw kill my step mom when I was daydreaming. It was this creature that was chasing me in the woods and saved me from drowning to death in that mucky stream. How did I envision this creature before I even knew it existed?

The images faded and I couldn't see anything. I felt cold as chills began to tinkle my senses. I could see my breath huff into a cloud. Then, like falling from the sky and finally hitting the ground, reality snapped me awake. I opened my eyes but all I could make out was a warm dim glow from a candle that was across this room I was in. I tried to get a sense of my surroundings and felt a cloth keeping me up as a lay. It was a rather large cot made of cotton. It was a few feet too long for me and 2 times my width. I felt around and found a wall to my left, it was not a straight wall, it felt more like a rough stonewall. It was moist and cold just like the air around me. My body's warmth diminished quickly as I found the only clothing I had anymore on my body was my boxers.

With another shiver a tried to warm myself by rubbing my arms with my hands but stopped with a wince of pain when my hand ran over my shoulder. My shoulder was still hurt but it was bandaged, and I could freely move my right arm. Where was I? Where had I been taken to? The questions soon turned to fear. I didn't know what to do, what had happen. After years of emotional and even physical abuse now what will ravage my soul. The pain of it all began to draw tears to my eyes, now I really was lost and confused.

I heard the sounds of footpads walking nearby but it wasn't in this room. I quickly became quiet again and then a door, flooding the dim light from outside this room, creaked open. I saw a hallway outside the metal door before a dark figure took its place. It walked into the room shutting the door and lit another candle. This candle was placed more closely to the center of the room and hung from the stone ceiling by metal links. The candle was a bit bigger creating a large flame and was able to lighten the entire room enough for me to see where I was. I found myself in a corner of this room, the foot of this cot against the wall that the door is that leads out of here. I saw a wooden desk, fashioned with craft, across the room from me. Near by it was a tall chest with things placed on top of it I could not understand. I found a large bed against the wall opposite of the door. The bed was finally made of cloth that looked not from this world. A thick comforter on top of the tall mattress. I was so cold I wanted to hop right into that bed for warmth but then I remembered the figure that walked in.

Looking near the center of the room I saw the tall creature, it was the creature I've been seeing all so much of recently, but it had it's back turned. Coming to the quick conclusion that they have kept me alive for however long I have been out I would pretend still being asleep with the instinct of staying alive. I could hear the creature walking around the room, shuffling things around lightly before letting a small huff in the form of a sigh. Then it put out the two candles leaving the room in complete darkness and retreated to its bed.

I laid there trying to keep as quiet as possible, I was trembling from the coldness but I was partially thankful for the creature being here, it's warm breath it released into the cold room helped slightly after a while. When I felt it had been far long enough that the creature would be asleep I opened my eyes again but couldn't see a thing. That's when I noticed there was something on my right wrist and I move a rattling finger over to it with my other hand. It was a metal cuff, and it had metal links running for a few feet before connecting to the cot I was on. It was at that moment I realized I was a prisoner of these creatures.

Cold, lost and pretty much alone I curled up on the cot for warmth and whatever comfort I could get hugging my knee's to my chest and be very careful with the chain coming from my wrist so it would not make too much noise. Perhaps it was the desperation for warmth, or the severity of my dark situation that took over my emotions again. I cried into my knees quietly. Sobbing lightly to myself, I was so scared of so many things.

I cried to myself for what seemed to be hours when I felt the chain from my cuff shift slightly. I quickly calmed myself and laid back on my back slowly, bringing my left hand to the start of the chain. I slowly followed it almost holding my breath. I tried to keep my hand from shaking but from time to time I would jerk slightly and rattle the chains. As I feared the chain was not leading to the post of the cot. I kept following it until it felt tightly held onto something a little higher then I was. I reached a little further and felt it lead between two distinct fingers and a thumb with short soft fur on them. I pulled my hand back quickly and tried curling up against the wall on the cot but laying on my shoulder only hurt it more. I let out a quiet whimper trembling in fear knowing that creature had a hold of me by that chain.

Light came into my watery eyes when this creature lit the main room candle to let me see. I have figured by now its sight was better then mine if it could walk around in the dark undetected like that. I leaned against the wall on the cot petrified and once again cringing before this beast of a creature in front of me. My panting was seen in light puffs into the cold air as I looked over the creature briefly.

I was able to finally decipher it's gender by the swelled chest and lack of anything dangling between her legs. She didn't wear clothes but her fur covered her enough so I couldn't see anything. A bushy tail swayed behind her patiently. Her leg structure was feral, a more animal like design. She also has a snout that reminded me slightly of fox's muzzle. Her narrow eyes stared down at me, every time I saw those eyes; they looked so sharp with a higher authority engraved in the glare.

My gaze shied downward immediately as another light whimper escaped my shivering body. I saw her drop the chain she was holding, it was still connected to the cot however. She turned around and walked to the chest opening a hatch in the side of it. I watched in a cowering heap against the wall fearing what she would pull out of there. My mind raced through possibilities, a weapon, or a tool, something that could hurt me. She pulled out a large pair of sharp scissors that were curved against each other and I held my breath with wide eyes. I partially relieved when she set them aside, pulling something else out. My eyes lit up when I saw a thick wool blanket in her paw. The only thing stifling the urge to jump off this cot was the fear of what was holding onto the blanket so I waited trying to rock myself for comfort.

She tossed the folded blanket slightly in front of her on the floor and never took her eyes off me. I Looked at her, then the blanket. She was waiting, waiting for me to go get it. No I couldn't... it had to be a trap. I fought with myself until I finally realized if I didn't get that blanket, I was going to freeze to death eventually. I had no choice, so trying my best to build up my courage I started to move towards the edge of the cot slowly. The only thing on her that would move is her eyes as they followed me closely, expectantly. I placed my feet on the cold stone. I didn't want to look into her eyes but I kept checking to see if she had done anything, I was afraid as soon as I get to the blanket she would do something bad. I moved off the cot slowly and stayed low, keeping my hands on the ground and sitting on my legs.

I waited at least 5 minutes before even making the slightest move. I was scared to move any closer but she did have great patients. She never moved, just stared at me. I started inching my way towards the blanket and with one more whimper I reached out for the blanket. I froze when I couldn't reach it, and the chain was fully extended holding me back. I couldn't reach it and I had no idea if she expected this or not. I didn't move, I knew if I did I would be back on that cot faster then I would have thought was possible but I also knew sudden movements have always had bad reactions in situations like this, and she had lured me all the way to the middle of the room for a reason. She didn't want me to start back on the cot after the time I took to get here.

My fear to move was over come when she turned around and grabbed something else from the chest. I pulled back my outstretched arm and was about to flee back to the cot when her foot paw came down on my wrist. It startled me enough to jerk my arm back but she had claws on her feet that extended out and grabbed my skin, one of the large claws even piercing through the skin. I clenched my teeth a bit; if I pulled anymore the small cut would turn into a serious wound. So I froze and trembled laying on the ground with her cold foot paw on my wrist. I looked up at her for directions, what she wanted of me.

She crouched down and put into my hand a long wand with a dark blue glowing gem on top of it. She slowly took her claws out of my skin and I didn't move, when she saw I wasn't withdrawing yet she lifted her foot paw releasing my arm. I panted lightly trying to get rhythm back in my breath at a steady rate, I slowly grabbed the wand in my hand and brought it closer wondering what it was for. It was long enough to reach the blanket though, so in my second attempt looking for her approval I moves my arm out with the wand this time and placed the gem end down on top of the blanket but I couldn't pull the blanket across the rough floor, and the gem was too smooth to grip against the material.

I was about to give up when I saw the creature motion with her open paw "up". I blinked a little at this and nodded softly, and pulled the wand up from the blanket. I was surprised that the blanket came up with the wand, like it was stuck to the gemstone but the blanket stayed neatly folded in air. In my excitement I retrieved the blanket, pulling off the wand was as simple as putting it on, it felt like a magnet and lost its grip. I immediately wrapped the blanket around me and jumped back up on the cot leaving the wand on the floor. I wrapped myself up in a ball with the warm blanket, it was a paradise of pleasure to feel the thick cloth against my skin and keep my heat from floating away.

I sighed with a slight smile and looked up at her. Her looks didn't change but she picked up the wand and placed it nearby the cot in case I needed it again. At that point my fears were beginning to turn. This couldn't be that bad, I am being taken care of in a way. In my comfort I realized that this Female creature was still standing close to me staring down at me. I shyly looked up at her wondering if she wanted something from me, or was she just observing me. When she saw she had my undivided attention she pointed with a clawed finger at me and I cringed under the blanket, it was a constant fear that was becoming instinct for me. I poked my head up and she had not moved, I wondered if it was me she was pointing at and I pointed at myself questioningly. She responded with a slow shake of her head.

It was then that I really felt like we had an understanding of language, even though it was only body language and a simple no, we both understood and it was a start. I thought for a moment, if she wasn't pointing at me then, maybe the blanket... I tested my theory by pulling the blanket up a little and pointed at it, she nodded and gestured her paw like I was suppose to do or say something. Since communication was the most recent thought in my mind I said what it was I had wrapped around me to her.

"Blanket..." I said nervously, my voice making sound for the first time since I was taken here.

She titled her head as if making a mental note studding my word, my sound. She then nodded and moved off blowing out the candle light in the room and laying into bed again. While I laid there in the Dark for the first few moments I thought to myself. I wasn't so cold anymore, I was able to breathe normally, no more trembling or shivering, the blanket was very warm now and I wondered why she had given it to me. If I hadn't gotten this blanket, I could have died from the cold over time, then again why did she save me from that creek. I had so many idea's, maybe I am her new pet, or perhaps she is keeping me for anatomy information, I worried maybe she wanted me for the information I knew, and if she learned what I knew would she need me after that. It was just worry for the future, and my body could only think of right now, my tiredness, so I slept taking what comfort I could in my new blanket.
