End to a Rivalry
It was early evening and Sonic the Hedgehog was running through the woods a few miles from the Mystic Ruins. He was nearing his favorite spot by the lake in the center when he froze because he heard someone pacing and rambling angrily. He crept behind a tree and peered around it only to hide behind it again in shock at who he saw. Sonic's anti-self-Scourge the Hedgehog was pacing and muttering to himself and had worn a groove into the forest floor.
"Why can't I control myself when I see them? I'm trying to become friends with them after all so why can't I stop attacking them?" Scourge ranted.
Sonic wondered who Scourge was talking about when the next sentence he uttered made him widen his eyes in further shock.
"I mean I really want what that fox has with blue. A close friendship and bond. They're not even the same species and blue treats him like a kid brother. His ant-self and I despise each other and he's already betrayed me twice. I bet Tails has never betrayed blue like that. What am I doing wrong that I can't even get close to him to try to forge a bond between us? I'm his equal in speed, power, and skill not like that fake black hedgehog blue hangs around. I know we've had our problems in the past and I deeply regret that but I can't say this to him he'll just think I'm lying or trying to kill him again." Scourge nearly shouted. "What can I do to show them I mean no harm to them anymore? Even the squad wants to join blue and become his allies and I bet he would accept them before he would me." Scourge said
The more Sonic heard his Mobiean twin speak the more he felt Scourge was genuine in his words. He was about to confront Scourge when he saw something that shocked him more. Scourge had started to cry and mumble apologies to himself.
"Sonic ", he whispered, "I wish I could tell you these things in person but I guess I'm just too scared to." He said.
"Well lucky for you than I heard everything huh?" A voice said behind him.
Scourge jumped in shock and turned around to see his cerulean blue Mobian counter part.
"S-S-Sonic how long have you been here?" Scourge asked.
"Long enough to hear your rant and your apologies Scourge." I happen to agree maybe it is time we put his war behind us and join forces. I really don't like to fight you either since you are like my twin brother. If you mean everything you've said maybe we can work on that bond you want. Perhaps that's all you need to change." Sonic replied.
"Trust me I meant every word and I'll prove myself to you and your friends." Scourge said. "So friends?" He asked with his hand out and hope in his eyes.
"How about friends and brothers?" Sonic replied shaking Scourge's hand with a smile.
"Gladly." Scourge smiled back.
