Chapter 29: There's a light (December 27th 2019 A.D. - Sunday 8:00 AM)

"...daemon..." Ozwot mumbled.

Kitsune awoke calmly, feeling his lovers paw on his chest. His body was refreshed, an oddly perfect sleep, his lovers body against his, he rubbed his nose against his mate. Licking at his neck he still felt as if he was in a dream. Figures rolled around, moving softly in the shadows of the darkened room. The rain poured heavily outside, but no fear touched the heart of the fox. The shadows seemed to jump at them, but an unseen force would throw them right back, this force was emitted by Ozwot.

Kitsune felt warm against his lover. Feeling safe from harm. Safe even from the red eyed, black furred fox who stared at him from across the bed. The red eyes attempting to pierce the vulpine heart. The fox continually opened its mouth trying to speak but nothing touched Kitsune's ears. Kitsune felt oddly calm even from the strange spectral shadows and demonic figure who stood near him and around the bed. All of them fended off, by this sleeping wolf, who held the boy close.

Kitsune lay his head on the chest of his mate, hearing the heart beat, like a drum warding off the beasts, monsters, demons, and ghosts who wished to plague Kitsune. Ozwot awoke as he felt Kitsune's ear against his chest. He gave a sleepy groan and rubbed the back of Kitsune's head. The wolf looked down at the man he loved, scratching at his ear. Though the fox smiled back, he felt an eerie feeling about his look, as if he was covering something that had just passed. Looking about the room he only saw the clock. The numbers did not appear, the power was out.

'Kit must be scared of the lightening...I felt his paws clenching me in my sleep, now he seems to be covering his fear...' Ozwot thought to himself rubbing Kitsune's back raising him reassuringly, he seemed to be reluctant to leave his chest '...I'll tell him...I'll tell him the truth today...he deserves it'. Kitsune could see the shadows but they were faint, they seemed to move frantically about behind the fox who slowly moved back, scared of the white wolf, slowly being covered by darkness with the shadows.

"I think the power is out" The wolf spoke quietly "Stay right here, I'm gonna get a flashlight". Suddenly Kitsune clang to Ozwot, rubbing his cheek against his chest.

"No" Kitsune spoke so quickly "I'll come with you". Ozwot gave a smirk and held onto the wrist of the fox as he stood, nothing covering his body. Kitsune followed up, just as vulnerable as the wolf. Ozwot lead Kitsune into the kitchen then let go of his paw, moving over to the drawers, pulling one out and looking through it. He gave a sigh of dissatisfaction, and pulled out a flashlight but then opened it, showing it had no batteries, then gave a shrug. Kitsune giggled, the wolf never spoke much in the morning.

"That means no shower either" Ozwot gave a laugh.

"Why not!?"

"No really, the water is connected to the electricity"

"You liar"

"What?" Ozwot walked up to Kitsune grabbing his arms "I'm serious, ever since the 1970's the water has been connected to electricity, it's why the water doesn't suddenly get freezing, like a lot of human books say".

"No way, I thought the water was separate". Ozwot gave a sigh, knowing Kitsune would argue until proven wrong (some times even after proven wrong), a family trait, Ozwot supposed. Ozwot turned the nozzle of the sink paused for a moment and nothing happened. Kitsune gave a tilt of his head and dashed up turning the other nozzle. A slight drop of water pushed out, falling so quickly towards the iron ground. Then smashed into millions of little droplets splattering and seemingly disappearing from the eyes of the two lovers.

Kitsune blushed and pulled back covering his mouth.

"Awwww" Ozwot moved up to Kitsune and nuzzled his cheek against Kitsune's.

"I-I thought the water was separate". Ozwot gave a smirk, an evil smirk he licked softly across Kitsune's neck.

"I told you so, I told you so" Ozwot started to laugh out childishly.

"Hmph, meanie..."

"You'd do the same thing!"

"So!?" Kitsune whimpered. Ozwot only chuckled at the reply, then took Kitsune into an embrace a slight tear running down his cheek. Kitsune's ears twitched and his head tilted.

"Don't ever leave me..." Ozwot whispered into Kitsune's ears "...I know...after what I've done, I'm not in clear to ask you that but...that time away from you...I felt like only a fraction of myself...as if I was no good without you...and I saw you...I watched you suffer, and I could do nothing...I'm not going to be like that anymore...never again...". Kitsune closed his eyes and rubbed Ozwot's back softly with his paws, which felt like silk against the bare back of Ozwot.

Shadows swirled around them, dying out and fading away from the sunlight which slowly crept through the window. Though it was very slight, the clouds were dark and rain poured down heavily, thunder cracking and lightening smashing. Kitsune was close to Ozwot's chest, shivering heavily, half in fear, half from the cold. Ozwot ran a paw down Kitsune's back reassuring him.

"Look Kitsune...get dressed, you'll catch a cold like this...heh I probably need to too" Ozwot chuckled looking down at himself breaking from Kitsune's embrace. Kitsune went to speak but then he looked to the window, he didn't know what it was but something told him to go to it. Slowly he moved across, Ozwot following behind confused. Kitsune closed in on the frame and moved the blinds slightly to look out. Kitsune hadn't known what he was looking for staring intently. Suddenly the thunder cracked, he stayed still but a flash, an image of that demonic vulpine flashed in front of him holding a bloody knife over a corpse, Kitsune fell backwards in fear shaking his head and whimpering terrified at the sight, wasting no time in trying to convince himself he saw nothing.

Ozwot quickly went down bringing Kitsune close. The fox shivered in Ozwot's arms, but then he quickly brought his ears down placing them on his chest. As the heart beat a warm sensation crossed his body, every fear inside him quickly flushing itself, he breathed in calmly.

"come on Kit...don't go near a window in a thunderstorm...you know better" Ozwot tried to comfort his mate. Kitsune gave a sigh, and Ozwot helped him to his feet, moving close to Kitsune, they both went into the room. Getting dressed Kitsune stared at Ozwot, as he ran the long black jeans up his leg Kitsune noticed, he seemed to be in heavy thought. Kitsune buttoned up his blue dress shirt slowly, still staring over. Ozwot had a very heavy thought on him, he went to pick up a shirt then stopped. Kitsune couldn't help but cross his way over to his mate, placing a paw on his back. Ozwot quickly turned and took Kitsune's wrist, pressed his palm against Kitsune's chest, pressing him back so he fell onto the bed.

Kitsune gave a giggle, and blushed.

"So early?" He questioned. Ozwot smiled at it but quickly went serious.

"Kit...I've been wanting to tell you...why I left"

Kitsune stared at Ozwot, his ears dropping slightly.

"Look, love, you don't have to, if you don't want"

"No...if I don't tell you means I'll be carrying on a lie...and you know how I feel about that..."

Kitsune stayed silent watching his lover. Ozwot looked about and then looked down.

"Close your eyes please?" he asked the fox softly. Kitsune looked down and closed his eyes, putting his paws over them. Slowly Oz stood still, velvet smoke slowly forming around his body, and then engulfing him. As the Smoke faded, a black paw emerged from the smoke, taking hold of Kitsune's.

"Open your eyes" Came the voice of his lover. Kitsune opened his eyes, meet with a new pair of eyes, the left dark red, the right golden yellow, Kitsune gave a gasp moving backwards, the dark fur, a scar over the left eye. Ozwot's fur was now sable, blending with the shadows, A large pair of Maroon wings jutting from his back, slowly moving around the two

"Please don't hate me" the wolf begged. Kitsune took in a breathe looked away and then directly into Ozwot's eyes.

"Hate you?" Kitsune's face became serious and he gave a slap to Ozwot's cheek "How dare you!?"

"I-I...Kit..." Ozwot's ears drooped.

"How dare you say something like that to me" Kitsune quickly stood bringing himself close to Ozwot "...I don't care what you look like...and I don't like the idea you thought it mattered..."

"I...I'm sorry" Ozwot smiled "you're right..."

"So what is this?" Kitsune asked rubbing at the thick of the wing.

"I...I am a demon...well half demon...Half dragon...My mother is a demon...my father was a dragon" Ozwot stayed silent after this.

"I-is this a dream?" Kitsune gave a breathe.

"No...Kit...this is what I am..."

"I...thought you were joking about the pendant"

"No love...I was serious and I'm serious now..."

Kitsune then went silent and pushed away from Ozwot giving him another serious look.

"What?" Ozwot inquired.

"that's why you didn't want money!" Kitsune shouted "you flew here!?"

"Oh" Ozwot blushed "...yeah"

"That must have been so difficult..."

"That's why I waited so long...I would have come to you earlier...had I known I had the strength...It's why I didn't want you coming for me..."

"I'm sorry about that time apart from you...sometimes the dragon will come out...and I lose control...I used to have control..." Ozwot looked at the ground.

"...thank you" Kitsune kissed his lover's lips.

"..." Ozwot sticked to Silence then cracked a smile "...No thank you...I was scared you'd run off...Scared you'd leave me..."

"Never" Kitsune breathed "Not even if you shot my friends...I'd definitely give you a nice slap and questioning...but I'd never leave your side...I love you"

"..I love you too" Ozwot brought Kitsune close.

"...how will you take class?"

"Oh" Ozwot chuckled "I can change back no problem, heh". Kitsune stared into Ozwot's eyes, seeing a swirl of flame, and a torrent of gold.

"...your eyes" Kitsune continued to stare.

"Oh...they must be so frightening for you love"

"No...leave them" Kitsune placed a paw on Ozwot's cheek, rubbing softly.

"They don't scare you?"

"They do....but they are part of you" Kitsune places his lips near Ozwot's licking softly over the lips "and I love them".

"...thank you so much" Ozwot pulled Kitsune close to him, brushing through his hair and giving a murmur.

"...look Oz..." Kitsune was interrupted by Ozwot pressing his lips together, slowly moving the wolf tongue inside the fox's mouth, licking above his tongue, the fox murring happily. A sweet aroma seemed to fill the room, suddenly a knock rapped upon the door. Kitsune pulled away and then looked at Oz.

"Let me go get that" Kitsune darted out the room, his hair a mess, and fur stuck to him with sweat. He came to the door and in one fluid motion turned the knob pulling it open. He found Leo on the other side looking in, dripping wet.

"Can I come in?" he asked shivering.

"Sure" Kitsune said moving out of the way leo moving in and then sitting down on a coach.

"Sorry, I didn't want to catch a cold..., can you believe they wanted me to take care of the ground today!?" Leo gave a sneeze "...damn it..."

Ozwot moved in, and walked into the kitchen, Leo staring at him, his eyes wide.

"Who is that!?"

Kitsune tilted his head and then looked at his lover to find he was still in his true form.

"Oz!" Kitsune pointed at him then covered his mouth. Ozwot looked down his eyes growing wide.

"Fuck!" Ozwot shouted covering his eyes with a paw.

"That's oz!?" Leo breathed in eyes still wide "no way...you're completely different...come on tell me that's not oz".

"It really is-...wait why?"

"...no reason" Leo looked away giving a slight blush "But anyways...I didn't know Oz had wings".

"Oh...you have to keep this hush leo" Ozwot told Leo approaching him.

"Oh...no problem I guess..."

"He just showed me" Kitsune sat down beside Leo "I still keep expecting to wake up from a dream".

"Well it's nice knowing I'm not the only one with wings in this place" Leo said then looked at kit "What was your reaction?"

"Same as yours...except I didn't calm down as quick as you"

"Oh yeah...well it's odd...but meh...when you get to my age you see a lot" Leo paused then gave a sneeze.

Ozwot Sat down near Kitsune, folding his wings around the fox and holding him close, the three sat silent, Leo Wrapped in a blanket on the coach.

"What were you doing outside?" Kitsune asked, leaning his cheek against Ozwot's chest.

"...like I said they expected me to work today...so I "was" going to check each electric box for the dorm buildings but the walk from each had me freezing my ass off...and even with my damned thick coat...it's crazy...Did I interrupt anything between you two?" Leo looked over at Oz.

"..." Ozwot stayed silent looking at Kitsune then gave a yawn.

"Not really...he just finished explaining this all, and I was absorbing it...guess that's why it slipped my mind to let someone in...I was still all frantic" Kitsune explained.

"...you're a bad liar" Leo laughed.

"huh?"

"You had a strand of saliva running down your chin" Leo laughed. Kitsune blushed and hid his face into Ozwot's chest.

"Oh you're friends with that bunny, Ryan right?"

"Yeah, why?" Kitsune asked.

"Crossed his dorm, he went in with some fox, passed it again on the way up here to ask to warm up and I heard a lot of sounds" Leo smirked "you know the kind...the kind you two were about to make".

"Ryan!?" Kitsune smiled and looked up over ozwot's wing.

"Yup"

"YAY" Kitsune cheered.

"Why, are you so happy about that?"

"The bun bun, deserves it" Kitsune giggled.

"Heh, So does the foxy" Ozwot laughed "I hope you've been pawing while I was away". Kitsune slapped lightly on Ozwot's chest.

"We have a guest".

"He knows you have a penis I'm sure" Ozwot laughed. Kitsune just blushed and leo laughed. Kitsune felt happy, though a little embarrassed happy that he knew the truth. Happy there was a reason, a good reason that he had to be separated so long. And yet... a fear was still there.

Knowing Ozwot was a demon, AND a dragon meant, there were other demons and dragons out there. Kitsune shivered at the thought for a moment while being embraced by Ozwot, leaning a soft cheek into his chest.
