All of that extra time lifting weights really paid off for him in the end as he possessed the body of an underwear model by the end of the week, much to his amazement. Never before had he looked like this, and yet now that's what stared back at him in the mirror. The clothes that he came didn't even fit the same as they used to, needing a belt just to hold up his pants.

And all the while, BoJack didn't even think about how far overboard he was going with his weightlifting routine. It was practically the only thing that he could do while on location, so he didn't notice that it'd started bleeding into the other parts of his daily schedule. No matter what he did to pass his free time, he was idly lifting while doing it and never regarded it as odd.

Even while visiting his dressing room at the studio he was curling a dumbbell that he'd brought with him. He grunted as he belted out the rest of his set in front of the mirror, groaning in relief when he finished. "Okay, that was probably somewhere around the hundredth rep. I did need to go to a hundred, right?" It was just then that he remembered that he kept his instructions in his pocket, though he couldn't believe what they said when he pulled them out. "Really? Only ten? Huh, guess I need to move up in weight again already."

A satisfied sigh escaped past his lips as he stood up, stretching his sumptuous limbs in the process. "Huh, this exercising thing is easier than I thought it'd be. I wonder why I didn't do it sooner." The answer came to him almost instantaneously. "Right, I'd have to leave the house to do it. Maybe I could make one at home somewhere, I do have a ton of spare rooms I'm not using. Probably would need to knock down a wall or two though."

His gaze flicked to the mirror where he could see the outfit that he had picked up for himself while he was there - a form-fitting athletic shirt that he'd never have thought to buy before, and a pair of jeans in a size that he hadn't worn in over a decade. "Damn, I actually look good!" He spun himself into various positions to get a better look at himself, thoroughly liking what he saw.

"Say..." BoJack knew that there was still time before the shoot took place, but he contemplated whether or not he was sufficiently ready to perform. "I know the character was said to have bulging muscles, but how big do mine have to be before they're considered 'bulging'?"

Curiosity overtaking him, he stripped himself of his shirt, whatever sweat not taken with it matting his fur instead. What stared back at him was a total shock, however one that he was thrilled with. The stallion reflected back at him resembled someone that had spent many months toiling away at the gym, not the week that he'd been in actuality. He knew from the first glance that he was leading man material, but doubt still overtook him when considering the role that he was competing for. "Is this enough? I think it's enough, but will the director think the same?"

He took it upon himself to try out a few poses that he discovered on the internet. Unlike those who sculpted their bodies for a living, he wasn't doing it to merely show off, instead scrutinizing him all over. This was his chance to come back into limelight after an extended break, so he had to make sure that as perfect as could-

"Hey, there you are. I've been looking all over for you!" Mr. Peanutbutter waltzed into the dressing when he saw the equine just past the door, only to do a double take upon getting a good view of his friend. "Doggy doggy... what now? BoJack, you're totally hot right now, buddy! You're looking as healthy as a... well, horse." He giggled at the coincidence.

BoJack, meanwhile, had one hand clenched onto his vanity while the other clutched his chest where his beating heart threatened to burst free. "Goddamn it, you're gonna give me a heart attack one of these days."

"Sorry, I was just excited to see your progress. You're looking, uh..." Peanutbutter snapped his fingers trying to recall a word that he'd just learned. "S-Swole, right? Swole? Is that what the kids these days are saying?"

BoJack cringed. "I should really hope that's not what the kids these days are saying." His breathing had slowed down enough where he could stand normally again, though his eyes nearly fell out of their sockets when he finally got a good look at the dog. His question of whether or not he'd left the Labrador in his dust had been answered, much to his chagrin, as his competitor somehow looked exactly as pumped as he did. How was that possible?!

"Anyway, I just wanted to see how things were going." Peanutbutter patted the horse on the shoulder, though pleasantly surprised at how firm it was. "You're probably gonna land the part, I know it. You're totally looking like star material right now!"

"Yeah, uh..." BoJack squeezed one of his pecs. "A neutron star, perhaps."

"That's the spirit! Happy lifting!" With his usual cheery demeanour, Peanutbutter waved goodbye to the equine as he left the room.

To simply be the same size as the canine wasn't enough for BoJack. He couldn't leave it up to the director to choose between them; he had to be the one that made the decision obvious. He had to get bigger to ensure that the role was rightfully his, and he wasn't about to let the dog steal his shot at fame and glory. "Envy, thy name is BoJack."

It was time to up his game.
