GTU - Genesis of failure

The GTU "Genes & Technology United" an expert group with bio weapons developed a serum like no other it contained a synthetic gene that immediately adapted to any environment and with proper treatment and administrationa test subject may beforcefully made toevolve to their current situation. They called it the Next Step Gene. First tests where initiated on the 21st of October 2256. First subjects where rats, the animals quickly and aggressively evolved. Size increased by 200%all senses boosted toextreme levels, intelligence surpassed that of any animal in the world.Tests went well but all subjects quickly died within 42 hours the gene caused mutations in thehypothalamus, temperature control centre of the brain the animals brain cooked itself on the inside to the out.
2nd tests on other animals began shortly after. 3rd ofNovember 2256felines begun the testingrotor.One scientist known as Dr.alphonas is recording his research. "incredible, absolutely incredible. Test subject 002 domestic cat has evolved beyondthatwhich we could ever haveanticipated.This creature has become bipedal within months of gentle evolution. Walking, talking... incredible it makes idol chitchat though still learning" the doctor said as he proudly over viewed his work. "20 years of research and we have finally found a way to force evolution. No longer will we need to develop these insidiousweapons of mass destruction" (famous last words). The domestic cats anthro evolution had the intelligence of a human but agility of the feline species. But the same mutation effected the feline prompting a 20 year lifespan. The mutation was later nick named the Death Gene.
January 4th 2577 mass research was put into place to develop the Next Step Gene. Limitless funds where poured into research and test subjects. Dr. Alphonas records his research and his final moments. A wolf is hooked up to many medical devices the Dr eagerly watches as the first batch of a new and improved NSG serum come out of the monitoring machinery. first injection of test subject 014. Species Canis Lupus other wise known as North American wolf. Injecting Completed sequence. Recording effects, wolfs brain activity increasing by 4%. The wolfs spinal chord seems to have increased temperature main bodily bones have increased growth and oh, oh my god. The wolfs body began to convulse the bones and tendons broke contorted then reshaped. Muscle died and then grew into new muscle increased strength and brain power developed as the brains neurons split and reconnected electric signals of the brain shot around the body. Dr. Alphonas watched in horror. He rushed towards the intercom, HELP I NEED HELP TEST CHAMBER 03. Alarms sounded and GTU private security force known as white angel mercenaries ran toward the test chamber clad in white armor with a model 7 carbine rifle auto lock mechanism a 2-4X scope and a digital uplink that monitors heat and rounds in a clip as well as squad mates and target locators. Visors a reflective silver and the GTUs emblem on the shoulder plate.
The wolven creature stopped its transformation and stood on 2 legs. And watched as it was surrounded by the worlds deadliest soldiers. Hold fire but train your sights on it men be cautious a voice came from the back. A man walked in, commander of the white angel mercenaries Tom jenkins walked in weapon in hand. A model 5 service revolver polished to a reflective silver. Dr explain yourself immediately. Dr. Alphonas was terrified but with a slow trembling voice he said dont shoot. The serum it, well it seems to be more aggressive since the last upgrade. I need to check this creature this wolves vital signs. The commander looked at the doctor then at the creature that stood before them confused and scared. Dr is this thing safe or not? If it takes one aggressive move we will open fire. Understood?... UNDERSTOOD? shouted the commander impatiently. yes of course commander. You see when the creatures evolve their minds change intelligence increases but to a limited level. He has the intelligence of a 4 year old. Completely harmless. Dr. Alphonas carefully examined the animal. It stood 7 ft tall brimming with muscles and a silken like fur. The creature should respond to voice like a newborn to their parent so essentially the more we talk the more this thing should feel at ease the Dr said as he looked intently at machines monitoring heart and muscles. my guess doctor is that the more we talk the more well piss it off. Just because this thing looks somewhat like a human dont mean its going to act like one the commander said as he signaled his soldiers to back down. Ah I see you didnt read the report again did you commander said the doctor with a snigger. what of it. Were here to stop people from dying not take a friggin science lesson. The doctor just stared at him for a while than continued. The serum is 27% human blood commander my blood. They are like us in fact in a nutshell they are us. Created in our own vision rather like gods genesis of man dont you think. The Doctor stared for a while at his creation and tried to calm the beast and get it seated. Now Im not the religious kind of man Dr as you can see, but It sounds like your playing god, and if so doesnt that sort of thing have Armageddon type repercussions. The commander slowly approached the creature that was now sat down. Well essentially yes but we have fail safes in place if such an event occurred. Said the doctor. IF there is a break out the fail safes are supposed to help cull of the rouge experiments. But if they prove to powerful. Well God save us all.
As the doctor said those words he prepared a sedative and got the syringe ready. Now experiment 014 please stay still this will hurt for only a second. The doctor injected the creature. At first the wolf tensed its muscles but the anesthetic worked fast knocking it out. November 13th 2257. The wolf known as experiment 014 lay in a cell lightly lit by an LED lamp. Footsteps coming from up the hallway. In the last 10 months the wolven anthro was taught advanced English, math, science and about the world and what it was. Other experiments where created and the canine species was aggressively used as a main recourse for the experimentation. The next step gene serum has come a long way since January also known as the genesis month. Back to the wolf in his cell he heard familiar foot steps. As the doors slid open a familiar face peered in. Dr. Alphonas Sampson my boy. Good morning its time to wake up we have a full scheduled day ahead. Sampson the wolf looked up and smiled. Father good morning. Where are we going today? Sampson asked as he stood up. Well first off we need a serious discussion in my office to begin with and then we have to meet up with Commander Jenkins again Im afraid. But after youre free to do what ever you choose. Following Dr. Alphonas through hallways filled with cells much like Sampsons they eventually reached the hallway with the Drs office. Sampson could tell as he always saw a giant B painted on the wall. Why is that B there on the wall Sampson asked the Dr. that stands for level B. There are 7 levels all together each one designated by a letter. We are in an underground bunker A being the highest and G being the lowest. Whats in the lower levels? asked Sampson, oh nothing to worry about. Anyway were here. They both walked through large steel automatic doors. Into Dr. Alphonass office. The walls where decorated with shelves full of scientific rocks and insects in alcohol filled jars. Posters of the worlds animals and the periodic table. please be seated Sampson, we have an extremely important topic to cover. The only people that know of you existence are the people in this facility. It has been a sensitive subject on creating creatures that resemble ourselves. December 18th 2257. The press have swarmed the GTUs head quarters yelling out questions demanding answers. White angel mercs forming a barrier between the spokesman and the press. In the head quarters Sampson and his creator Dr. Alphonas are talking. Nervous much. Because if you are its fine. I wont lie to you the odds are millions will be watching. Ill be fine Sampson said. The doctor walked out and went up to a stage with a microphone and a stand with a pre made speech set up and ready. Ladys and gentlemen of the press. People watching at home. I have constantly been searching for an answer for better communication between the animalian creatures of the world. A few years ago we had created a serum like no other. Sampson here is harmless we took every percussion to keep safety to its highest. Any questions?. Several shouts came from the large crowd but the Dr chose one. Wont this cause a lot of ethical issues in the world such as religion and ethicists? The Dr just laughed and said Do not worry as I said before this is the next step in animal evolution. Weapons fire from somewhere in the crowd rang through the air and shortly after the screams of the crowd and commander Jenkins shouting out his orders . Sampson had never heard a gun fire before never in real life. He turned to his father for support but when he looked he saw his fathers white lab coat a bright shade of red as his wound bled aggressively. He had been hit dead centre in the heart the rib cage shattered the walls of his heart ruptured precious life fluid pouring to the floor. Sampson could do nothing but stare at his creator, His father as his life was quickly extinguished. The commander quickly sped to the doctor and tried to revive him but it was all for naught. And before he new it more gunfire erupted. The GTUs head quarters had turned into a combat zone. EXPERIMENT 014 COME ON. I SAID EXPERIMENT 014 MOVE. HEY!!!. SAMPSON WE GOTTA MOVE. Sampson sat with tears in his eyes as his only friend and family died in front of him. Corporal take Pvt Austin and Pvt Helios to the west try to flank em me and the rest of the platoonl keep em busy. Also get a containment team out here to get the experiment to safety
(THWAK) Sampson felt an extreme pain underneath his left shoulder. His mind a torrent of emotion and thought and then eventually darkness as he fainted. The last words that rung in his head where RETREAT
