Chakona Hospital

Amistad

The white female tigertaur was resting comfortably in her bed, looking out of the window at the rain, which seems to mirror her mood, cold, dark and miserable. The nurses checked up on her occasionally, but if it wasn't anything medical, they avoided her totally. Recent events had darkened her spirit and mood, making her high unpredictable. A few unlucky orderlies could vouch to the fact, coming away with deep scratches to their arms or chest. Nothing lethal, but enough to leave a scar and a reminder of their foolishness and carelessness of trying to converse with her.

Looking away from the window momentarily, she lightly touched the ugly scar on her right breast, which was fortunate not to have been severed totally. The matching scar on her abdomen was the largest, and the most painful to look at, because it not only nearly took her life, but it claimed the life of her unborn cub she was carrying. Sobbing gently, Snowdrift looked back out to the storm that raged, occasionally broken by streaks of lightning, which was followed by the sudden boom of thunder.

A nurse came in with a tray that contained the medication for Snowdrift, looking up; she noticed that it was a foxtaur, white with a black stripe down her back and tail. But what caught her attention, was the foxtaurs eyes. One was bright green, while the other was golden. The name tag read Illumanati Glazer, and she paid more attention to the nurse, as shi had the same surname as hir mate Solarblaze.

<Evening my dear, ready for your medication?> shi asked through telepathy, handing 2 pills and a cup of water. <Did you get enough rest?>

"Some, why do you care?" she asked sourly, accepting the pills and swallowing them with a mouthful of water.

<Well I am a nurse after all; it's my job to make my patients comfortable and happy. And I am taking sole charge of looking after you.> shi replied, accepting the cup back, then produced a syringe and a vial, and proceeded to fill the needle with some of the contents.

"What is that?" Snowdrift asked, cautiously.

<Why it's your medication my dear.>

"I thought the pills were my medication?"

<It is, this is your, "special medication" > shi added, flicking the tip, to get the air bubbles to the top and squirted some of the liquid.

Curious, Snowdrift eyed the nurse carefully, then whispered.

"What special medication is that, pray tell?"

<Why Dyroxium my dear, I understand that without regular shot's you'll die?> Injecting the needle in Snowdrift's neck, causing her to wince with pain, then relax from the illegal drugs effect.

"It is, but how do you know about that?" she said, feeling a slight wooziness as the cocktail of drugs slowly put her to sleep.

<Because, my dear. I'm Solarblaze's stepmom, and we in the family know all about you. Now just relax and get some well deserved sleep, coz you'll have some company tomorrow, and you'll need your strength.> shi said, softly stroking hir daughter in laws head and kisslicked her cheek, which she tried to return, as it was Nati who had saved her life, but regrettably not her unborn.

As soon as hir daughter in law was asleep, Nati checked the tigertaurs' vitals and petted her head a few times, before going back to hir post at the nurses station. Stephan and Stephillum were waiting for hir.

"How is she my love?" Stephan asked his lifemate, nuzzling and kissing hir softly.

<Very angry, depressed and miserable, as you could guess, after losing one's own unborn.>

"The next morning is going to be even more difficult for her." Stephillum replied, hugging hir mom.

<Yes, if losing one's own cub is bad enough, to find out that the cubs sire and her mate will have no memory of her at all, is going to devastate her even more. I hate to think of what she might do>

Stephan hugged his taur mate, rubbing hir back and shoulders lovingly, making hir murr with happiness, and they were joined by their daughter.

<Only time will tell, so we must show her that she is not alone on this world, and that she has family that loves her, even if we only just met.> Nati sighed, disengaging so that shi can continue hir work.

"Ok, well will I see you a little later love?" he asked, holding his daughters hand.

<Yes, but not until around 2am. But I will be home.> shi said smiling, giving him one more kisslick, before he and his daughter vanished before hir eyes, teleporting from the hospital to their home in Silverlake. The one advantage with Teleporters, is that they can avoid the weather, if it was cold or wet and windy. So as soon as they arrived home, Stephan made two mugs of steaming cups of chocolate with marshmallows, and handed one to his daughter. They drank the brew while snuggling with each other. Then afterwards, Stephillum made hir way to hir own bedroom.

Stephan followed shortly, but he looked in on his other teenage daughter, who was curled up in a ball sucking hir thumb, like shi was four year old again, which in hir mind, that's what shi was, four years old, with no memory of the life shi lived, meeting Sundawn, training with hir grandmother, killing hir in that terrible incident, gaining new and frightening powers, conceiving a cub, mating with Snowdrift and conceiving a second cub, loosing the cub and going on a rampage on an Island, then having hir memory blocked.

Yes, tomorrow will be the most traumatic moment in her life...

Stephan gave his daughter a kiss on hir cheek, and shi murred and curled even tighter, clutching an old fox plushie, that shi somehow had found again. They way shi moved and curled tighter into a ball, reminded him of that morning which claimed Sunrise's life, and set his daughter on the path of destruction.

Crawling into his bed and slipping under the covers, he soon was fast asleep, and was briefly woken by a large furry taur body snuggling up next to him around 2:30am A few passionate words of love was spoken, then both parents were asleep, to be able to handle the rough morning ahead of them...
