Foxes Across the Stars

(A Lore Friendly Star Fox Story)

Author's notes: So I knew it was high time I got back to Star Fox. But for the month of August I didn't want to just focus on Fox x Krystal. That is because one, it's not fair to the other canon couples. Two, with the horrible things out there, I wouldn't be a true fan if I didn't cover more than one couple. Three, some things I've had in my head for a long time and now is that time to get them out there. Four, to keep showing who is really with who. And finally, to show why me and Fara are meant to be together only. This idea I've had of me and her came from getting ideas from quite a few things so sit back and enjoy as I show one powerful and night of true love and passion between me and this vixen. Eventually I will do a whole story with chapters of just focusing on me and Fara but for now, this will do. I also snuck in a few Easter eggs from other things in here. See if you can spot them. One final note is this is what I want to see and not the horrible stuff and things that makes no sense whatsoever when it comes to franchises like Star Fox for certain individuals. Just like with those from Rimba Racer, Helluva Boss, and many other series. What do I mean by that? Simply by taking what has been seen, (Sometimes if it's murky), and then expanding on it in a way that shows true love and a vision of what the original series' creator or creators may not have been able to show. And then sometimes what I do is more to show true love and dedication with a character or characters and pairings, and doing it in a way that makes sense with how each character, the real one, is portrayed. Not the horrid fucked up shit that makes no sense in anyway. Then sometimes in other series the things that are horrible and fucked up, just get out of hand and we need to see more true love and passion. Not the quick emotional fling or hormone release. What I want to show is what real romance is, not just my love for certain characters and/or franchises, but for others who feel similarly about things as well.

Throughout life, there were always points where one never knew how things would go. This could range from taking on jobs or interacting with others. Sometimes this could lead to a very horrible, dark, and painful path. But on the flip side what could follow was a much happier and brighter future. The latter had happened for all the teams and those who lived in the Lylat system. Right now it found among the beautiful clusters of stars a celebration going on at one of the outpost stations that had started to pop up in recent years. These not only served as pit stops to repair and refuel ships, they were also resting points for those traveling from one end of the this system to the other. These places didn't provide sleeping areas, but they did have ways of rejuvenating tired bodies and minds. One could get food and drinks as well as stretch the legs by walking around the establishment, and even bathrooms to relieve that basic need. And one of these places was being occupied with the many bodies of those celebrating due to the victory that had happened just a few days ago. This outpost named Cluster Nebula, due to the fact it was located near Sector Z, was one of the more popular of those places. It wasn't the location that did this but rather the atmosphere, décor, and size. All manner of species could be found inside from civilians, drifters, mercenaries, those in the navy and army, to even smugglers and other wanted criminals in disguise. There had been a couple of outpost that was more for the wretched hive of scum and villainy of the Lylat, but those had all been cleaned out and destroyed. But Cluster Nebula wasn't like that. This was more like the safe and secure place that was cool, hip, and one where you would take a group of friends or a loved one to for a fun night. And that was certainly what was happening tonight in this place.

Inside the huge circular main area the atmosphere was charged with the sound of laughter, talking, consuming of food and drink, and the music playing on the speakers. None of these were too jarring or chaotic; it all blended in harmony just like a cozy and friendly futuristic tavern. Certainly what helped set the mood was the bar and eating area having a number of rectangular tables to sit at which were accompanied by comfy stools and banquettes all in colors that were dark, but pleasant kinds. This was so the colored lights in here wouldn't clash as those were warm, bright, and friendlier ones due to being lighter in tone. There were elements of wood and brass seen in here, but mostly one could find and see metal and leather were used. This was the kind of place someone could stroll in and feel at home and comfortable without fear of being robbed or killed. Certainly the security system helped, but it was also due to the kind of patrons who came inside. The staff here also helped one feel at home in a non-sexual way with good customer service. There were some robots working but mostly other species did the majority of the work. Even though tonight was going to be the biggest night of the year, they always strove to do the best they could to keep those that came in happy and satisfied. Sure there was occasionally the bad apple who would break one of the rules of the establishment like being too rude, stealing something, trying to hit on one of the workers, sneaking drugs in, or even to sneak in a fuck session. There were those who thought they could get away with it, but the security would catch these all the time with those that were alert and the security camera system. Luckily these sort of incidents were exceedingly rare. And as long as one didn't break these rules, the doors of Cluster Nebula was open to anyone. And those that broke the rules by going too far were always kicked and banned from this establishment.

Right now all the activity was at the main area. Some of the walking areas had been visited that were tunnel shape and made of the hardest glass available so one could see the beauty of Lylat while walking in those. But the real party was happening elsewhere. Of course that wasn't the only activity going on. Out on the dance floor in the middle of the main area, bodies were dancing and moving to the beat. It was a huge square shaped area, raised up a step, and made of glass tiles where one could see the strobing lights under their feet that would flash on and off to form different patterns depending on what music was playing. Many of the ones moving to the beat were couples dancing with their loved one for it was a time to be thankful they were alive and could be together when those bonds could have been so easily lost during the fighting that had been going on. That's why tonight was one of celebration as a conflict had ended. It seemed like a lifetime ago when it had started due to what had happened even if the conflict had only gone on for some months.

What had happened in the beginning seemed ordinary enough. The Lylat had still been recovering from the Aparoid crisis when a few jobs had come in. They appeared simple as there were mainly investigating kinds. Star Fox had been tasked with finding the source of a strange object and signal that had been detected in Sector Y. It was from something that had never been seen before, and shouldn't have been there. Star Flight and the Hot Rodders were tasked with checking out the rumors of odd ships that had been spotted in the Lylat. The last of the jobs was more shady and why Star Wolf was more suited for it. It was to check out rumors of illegal drugs coming out of a couple bars/casinos that while on the surface seemed fine had a feeling of being suspicious. One of these drugs was a new one that went by several names called Sauria Kush, Sauria Leaf, and Sauria Joint, with Sauria Purple Kush being the most addictive and dangerous of the lot due to being a more potent stronger version. But it was all the same highly addictive and terrible substance with a key ingredient from the planet it was named after used to make the drug. Due to the fact that the drug was illegal, and the fact someone or a group was harvesting the raw material in a inhumane way, this was definitely concerning. Especially since not only had reports come in of some species dying from overdosing but also the horrible uses of it to make a profit, turning rational thinking beings into drugged up addicts which lead to other terrible choices and careers. This could range from prostitution in awful situations, to shoot outs, robberies, and murder.

While Star Flight and the Hot Rodders found nothing, the other two teams did. For Star Wolf, Wolf had sent in two of the goons from Sargasso to the source. It was better unknown monkeys who looked rough went in then someone like him or Panther since they would most likely be recognized. It turned out to be the right move as these two primates not only got their hands on some samples of the drug, they also discovered a much bigger score. At the same time Star Fox found the source and it turned out to be a satellite probe from an unknown system outside the Lylat. This was disturbing because it turned out the machine was hostile and tried to attack and capture the team. Thankfully the group had managed to defeat this probe and subdue it without destroying it. Every team and their allies and friends had then come in to report their findings as a connection was made. Digging in deeper by analyzing the drug and data on the satellite led to the discovery of an extremely powerful and evil crime syndicate that had made their move after the Aparoid crisis. This organization had originated outside the Lylat and had been planning to invade by careful planning for a long time. They had been waiting for the right opportunity and with this system recovering, the syndicate made their move. They had begun to spread their influence in shady areas, distributing illegal drugs and other things to gain influence and power. The only reason it had taken so long to figure out was because of some of the deaths that hadn't been able to be fully covered up and those finally realizing the wrongs going on and speaking up.

Despite the fear of this new enemy, the time had come to rid the Lylat of the disease that plagued her. The base of operations on Sauria was found where the drug was being manufactured as well as the places where the raw ingredient used to make the substance was being harvested and eliminated. A the same time the areas where the horrid thing was being distributed were raided and destroyed. Doing so led to discover even more despicable and disgusting things this syndicate were doing. It showed they were truly monstrous, inhuman, beyond saving or redeeming, and evil in a way that was different than Andross who had only gone insane. These were some of the worst scumbags ever encountered and their method to take over had been done in a very clever and strategic way. They had created the drug and snuck it into food, drinks, or disguised it as ordinary, regular, and sometimes what seemed to be harmless, things. That was how species got hooked on the substance without realizing it. Due to how addictive this was, profit had happened quickly for species needing to get the high no matter what or how often. Those under the influence or being stoned would be so out of it, they could see the wrongs done and not lift a finger or say anything to put a stop to it. But the worst effects was the way this drug could affect someone's behavior when it came to sex. No male or female was immune and turn them into mindless and disgusting sex crazed beings that would fuck anyone or anything that nobody in their right mind would ever do in an eternity or while being normal.

This drug made it so these species would swap, share, cheat, be into BDSM in all forms that were very extreme and often included pain, drowning, torture, violence, rape, incest, be a cum slut whore when they never would be, want to get the wrong genitals, be completely gender bended, turned into a giant, wear a zero blue suit from a franchise in the wrong way that didn't belong in the Lylat, wear other outfits they never would that were just awful looking to look like sluts and whores, fucked by aliens, scalies, and dinos, tentacles, as well as fuck others they never would in any lifetime. This led to them doing things like threesomes, gangbangs, orgies, and at worse impregnating when nobody in their right mind would want since that was never done with true love and passion. This led to the final disgusting thing of lactating breast milk which nobody in their right mind would ever want or drink. And to add more insult to injury when the females were on the drug, they would be slipped a pill that increased their hormones so that horrible lactating thing happened without pregnancy. Thanks to all of this and the blindly devoted, brainwashed, and fucked up followers of the syndicate, many who were just lowly grunts, the whole thing had become so fucking profitable in a horrible way.

It showed everything and everybody in this organization or connected to it were truly despicable and monsters. It seemed nobody could stop them and for the few who wanted them to be, they couldn't do anything as they were scared what would happen to them if they spoke up or tried to leave. And for very good reason since examples had been made. It was horrible to say the least. Then the scumbags in the syndicate had gone a step further down to hell; they had been able to create fake versions of certain females and males to do all the horrid fucked up shit for their sick, twisted amusement. These ranged from all those on the team to those that never would be in the Lylat, or ever would in any life time. Plus it was the kind of things the real males and females would never do in any way shape or form. But when the crime syndicate were powerful enough they came to the Lylat to get the real males and females on the team and get them to join by treachery, black mail, or force. All for the real ones to further their sick, twisted, fucked up ambitions.

But they had made some big mistakes that led to their downfall which was not only invading the Lylat and hurting the innocent. They had also targeted all four teams who by this point a number of the members had loved ones either on the same team or a different one. And nobody fucked with those relationships in anyway shape or form. The enemy had grossly underestimated how powerful that love and the teamwork was. From the first battle, Star Fox, Star Flight, Star Wolf, the Hot Rodders, the Cornerian Fleet, and all the other friends and allies showed they were willing to do whatever it took to win or die fighting against this evil. This became even more obvious when Krystal and another with their telepathy abilities tore the knowledge from the mind of a defeated enemy that revealed the information of the fake versions being made for fucked up sex situations. Everyone on the side of good were appalled, disgusted, and enraged. Everybody else fighting against the syndicate were too, especially when seeing the horrid aminations, stories, comics, and art from the leaders of the crime syndicate. Everybody was straight and extremely happy with not just how things stood for them romance wise but also every couple would never cheat, swap, or share. Each being would only be with the one they were truly meant to be with as well as never want to change their gender, or fuck something else, or those that didn't belong in this universe. Then these feelings of rage and anger burned to a level eleven and beyond when seeing the same organization also dealing with different illegal drugs, activity against the law, rape, and specie trafficking. No mercy and no quarter was given to any of them, or the fake versions of the males and female created, and all were slaughtered. All of the horrid tentacles, drugs, and substances were reduced to ashes by burning. Only those who were innocent and who could be saved were sparred for they hadn't signed up or asked for what they had gone through. Not all of them had been able to be saved and had died, just like some of those on the side of good had while fighting. But for the innocent who had been suffering and lived through the conflict, they were now in therapy and rehab to recover but would always be scarred for life.

For those fighting for the Lylat on the four teams, they had all survived the battles which only got more difficult and intense. Especially the final ones when each boss and leader in the crime syndicate were taken on. Luckily one of the team members had sent out a beacon of help to the system he had originally come from which brought in more reinforcements, allies, and friends to help. That had been needed and when all was said and done, the entire crime syndicate had been destroyed. Not a trace of it remand along with the horrible art, animations, stories, and comics, which meant there would never be something like this again.

That was why at the Cluster Nebula the celebration was going on as not only was this crisis over and the ones who had fought were alive, it was also a way to remember those on the side of good who had lost their lives during this. All of the Cornerian soldiers and units were busy talking, laughing, drinking, eating, and sharing stories with each other. Joining them were the others outside of the Lylat who had fought during this, and even some of those from Sargasso who were the thugs Wolf and his team were in charge of. Even this rough crew not only had a rugged honor code, they also had known if this syndicate had gotten to them, they wouldn't have been spared. Teaming up with the rest of the Lylat was the only way everybody could avoid a horrible fate. That was why they and Star Wolf were allowed into Cluster Nebula as they had done their part and it was fair since everyone else was. But not before being given a strict warning about the rules here. But there was nothing to fear. Despite being criminals, many, including the members of Star Wolf, had begun to change for the better. Right now nobody was separated by rank, history, gender, or any of that. At the end of the day all the species in here were citizens of the Lylat who had fought hard against a great evil.

Tonight in this place things were going wonderfully. Besides the crowd, love was also going on as well. The bar that was being attended to by a ram tonight smiled as he looked out to see not just the good business, but also the romance happening as well. And unlike in a horrid story, there was no illegal drugs being passed to him as this male made an honest and clean living. His gaze spotted some of the more recognizable faces despite never have met them in person. The ram saw all of Star Fox, Star Flight, Star Wolf, and the Hot Rodders not only spread out but also the couples having a good time with their one and only. For example Kool, the blue male feline who led the last team, was very cozy with his love Emily, another female feline with greyish silver fur. The ram saw a few of the couples were on the dance floor, talking amongst the others here, or in their own little corner. Well, almost every couple that is as the male at the bar glanced to the patron sitting a few stool seats down to his left. Just a couple of minutes ago he had heard her sweet voice, asking for a Absinth of Light. The vixen's voice had been somber and sad despite trying to be cheerful and happy.

Right now she was slowly taking sips of the small drink, just looking out at the crowd. Her beautiful dark green colored eyes seemed to be drawn to all the couples seen from the bar. It was hard at times to see love when being single since Fara was right now. Yes, it was Fara Phoenix, gorgeous and lovely in terms of her appearance and personality. Her fur was a beautiful shade of light brown, which went well with the usual outfit she wore. Green colored pants were covering those curvaceous and sexy shaped legs and ass that went well with her light grey boots. For the upper body the vixen wore a purple colored shirt that exposed the stomach area and showed the bust Fara had was easily a double-d cup. The final piece of clothing was a white colored vest that went over the shirt that was longer in length but didn't go all the way to the tops of the pants. This outfit was only her regular outfit when working on her team which was Star Flight but it certainly showed Fara had quiet the lovely and sexy body. Even the pants did well to show she had a great ass worth dying for. What made this female from the Lylat perfect dating material was despite being a pilot, a mercenary, fighter, and would kill if it meant protecting her friends and loved ones, this fox was very sweet, kind, and loving. Fara was the kind of girl who would love someone back with all her heart and never dream of cheating, swapping, or sharing. If that weren't enough, the brown-furred female wasn't hopeless when it came to cleaning and cooking along with what it took to run a house or when it came to her turn for some of the chores the Star Flight did on the their mother ship. Everybody on that team did their part to keep the vehicle clean and happy.

In the present Fara let out a small sad sigh as she set her now empty glass down on the bar. Despite her beauty and looks, the vixen was single and not dating anyone. Sure, a few tonight had tried asking the brown-furred female out, but like in the past, she had turned them down. Fara was only interested in one male as her gaze scanned for him somewhere out there in front of her. She saw the other couples though and while she was happy for everyone finding true love, it left a lonely heartache that was painful for the fox from the Lylat. She wanted love herself but so far hadn't been successful in pushing the relationship she had with the only one for further than what they had. But Fara would never dream or think of ruining things for the other couples. She did see Kool and Emily being with the other, but also the rest of the Hot Rodders mingling with the other patrons. Dash Bowman was also here as he was a member of Star Flight and also doing the same thing. Next Fara's gaze spotted Leon of Star Wolf just minding his own business. That chameleon was more a loner after all and in no way shape or form ever interested in socializing too much, much less going for romance. The same couldn't be said for his other two teammates. Out on the dance floor Panther was with Miyu, the love the two felines had for the other dancing in their eyes and looking the happiest they had been. Wolf on the other hand was at one of the booths, an arm around Fara's teammate Luna. The she wolf and lupine were very cozy, also painfully obvious they were in a happy and romantic relationship. Both of these couples had no intent of breaking up.

Fara next spotted more of her team members on Star Flight. Cody and his girl Kira who were otters, were more in the middle of the main area of the establishment. It looked as if the male mustelidae was having a bit too much to drink. Luckily his girlfriend was there to help reel him in. The vixen then spotted Bill and Fay also out on the dance floor. Both canines were clearly extremely happy and deeply in love with the other. Finally in a another corner were Lucy and Ben talking with her father Peppy. The older hare was smiling with seeing his daughter being in a loving relationship herself. Fara's eyes then saw all of the Star Fox members too. Slippy and Amanda were easy to spot as there weren't many amphibians here. Despite her being taller, it was clear the two frogs were deeply in love as well. Next the brown-furred beauty saw Falco and Katt together. Now one would think it wasn't possible but it really was for him and the feline to be in a loving and romantic relationship. They might not have been the most emotional pairing, but the two really did love the other. And finally Fara spotted Fox and Krystal who were also clearly happily in love with the other and together. But then the brown-furred female spotted the one she wanted and he was talking to the foxy couple. The browned furred female's heart lurched and ached just by looking at him. It wasn't Fox, Krystal, or any of these other males and females her eyes had spotted earlier that Fara longed to be in a loving relationship with; it was the leader of her team Star Flight Nicholas McCoy.

This vulpine had bright orange fur with the white in the middle of his body was like a regular fox. He also had small square framed glasses on the face. In addition Nicholas had long yellow hair that was tied back in a ponytail that went well with the his handsome and cool looks. It could be compared to that of say Fox, or say Wolf's rugged, yet handsome looks too. What added to Nicholas's features was also the thin, one inch scar on the right side of his chin that had happened from a fight in his past. It added to his character and physical appearance a bit. For the outfit, he was wearing his usual long green vest that went to the belt of his pants that were a darker shade of the same color. Underneath that vest was a sleeveless black shirt so the muscled arms could be exposed with each one having a spiral tattoo just like what Krystal had on her legs. Around the male's neck was a necklace that had a cross attached to it. On this piece of metal were lines that were exactly like the kind found on Krystal's staff. These two things were no coincidence with showing Nicholas wasn't originally from the Lylat for he was a part Cerinian. While all the ones on Cerinia were dead which left Krystal the only survivor and last pure Cerinian, the culture of her people hadn't perished. Long ago some from that planet had begun to explore and settle down on other planets. Due to the love that had happened with others species who weren't Cerinians, the children born due to these loving relationships had inherited the telepathy powers of the pure Cerinians. This gave rise to part ones and from there, they only kept growing in number. They not only got the same tattoos Krystal did since all Cerinians had them, each part one got a weapon that formed a bond with each wielder. For the former, the females had the line tattoos around the arms and the spiral ones on the sides of the hips. The males, like Nicholas showed with his bare arms, had the spiral markings on that part of the body while the line ones were around their ankles. Another custom had also risen up and that was those who married a pure or part Cerinian was given the option to get the tattoos as well if they wished. So for example if Fox married Krystal he had the choice of getting the tattoos in the same area Nicholas had his. And if Fara married the part Cerinian, she would get the tattoos in the same area Krystal had hers. As for the weapons, those ranged to other staffs, swords, maces, and other melee weapons. These could even be shields and a few ranged type of weapons too. But there were still some differences that separated the pure and part Cerinians like it was for Nicholas and Krystal.

Unlike the first type of being who had a small lower back tattoo, the second didn't get those, including the others who married part of pure Cerinians. In addition, Krystal's home planet had been very tropical like while the home planet of the part Cerinians name Eladard had a variety of places with different climates. While Cerinians were quiet advanced in technology, some might argue more so than the Lylat, everyone on Cerinia wore outfits similar to the blue vixen, or a little more than that due to how hot it was. But since everybody could read minds and pick up on moods and emotions, nothing was really hidden even though all Cerinians, pure and part, had been taught and disciplined to not invade the privacy of others unless it was really needed. Thanks to this, both races believed in true love and relationships, dating only one person at a time, and never swapping, sharing, or cheating. If the relationship didn't work out, the break up would be like any other normal one, but nobody forced one on somebody at all. The other difference between pure and part Cerinians was the latter lived on a number of different planets ranging in so many different environments so clothing was more diverse depending on where one lived. Other than that, the things in common were exactly the same. Nicholas, being a part Cerinian, could read minds and mood swings like Krystal and his weapon had the same properties as her staff. The vulpine's weapon were a pair of gauntlets attached by a flexible and metal tube that didn't interfere with his use of the arms for fighting. All Cerinian weapons could use the same abilities a Krystal's staff, and they used the same energy to replenish the magic needed like what was found on Sauria. Cerinian and all the planets the part ones were on had similar or the same properties for magic as the first one. And of course all traditions from the pure Cerinians, including the architect design, was seen on the planets the part ones lived on. These were in a system out of the Lylat.

Nicholas McCoy himself had come to the Lylat with Cody, Kira, and Ben. Those three weren't part Cerinians but normal species. Even so, the four had a great bond of friendship and teamwork who joined the vulpine to form a team. But they needed more help and from there Miyu Lynx, Fay Spaniel, Bill Grey, Dash Bowman, Katt Monroe, Amanda, Lucy Hare, Luna McCay, and Fara Phoenix had joined. A couple of these people were on board only as temporary members that could always return to the team when need be, but everyone else was a full time one. In the end everybody had worked hard to grow as a team, improving their skills in aerial and physical combat, but had also worked with Star Fox, Star Wolf, and the Hot Rodders on various missions. During that time all the other couples had hooked up which left Fara the only one to not be in one. The vixen at times had her doubts and wondered how in the hell Nicholas could ever be into her. The brown-furred female was confident in her beauty and looks if one was thinking about those in the Lylat. But the long-haired male wasn't and was a part Cerinian. Like Fox had doubted with Krystal, Nicholas seemed to Fara that he was way out of her league. Her biggest fear was that he would leave her for the blue-furred vixen when first seeing the pure Cerinian as Krystal also seemed in a class all of he own. But those worries were quickly put to rest as the blue-furred female and Nicholas revealed they would be nothing more than friends. Sure, the male with yellow hair had been so relived Krystal had escaped the destruction of Cerinia, he never once looked at the pure Cerinian twice. It was the same for her too since she only had her eyes for Fox due to being in love with the leader of Star Fox.

In the end Fara would see Krystal and the leader of Star Fox also become a loving couple. The brown-furred female would never get in the way of that having never met Fox or wanted him at all. So then why couldn't she push the envelope even more with Nicholas? They had fought together side by side and back to back more than any other member. The part Cerinian always made time for her and had personally helped the his brown-furred teammate grow stronger as a pilot and fighter. Sure, the long-haired vulpine wasn't the best when it came to cooking and other household chores despite not being an expert. Yes, he had a temper at points and could become quiet foul-mouthed when pissed, but even with these faults Fara saw the other wonderful qualities Nicholas had. It wasn't just his looks of course, the part Cerinian showed he truly did care about his friends and teammates, he supported the other couples in love, would fight and die for anyone he cared for, and was a great leader and tactician when dealing with an attack plan. Not like the level of a commander in an army, but for his team, it worked. Nicholas always analyzed any situation as well and could be quiet observant at points. This of course was due to all the hard work and training he'd put in to reach this point. According to the male, back in the day, he was actually deemed a hopeless case by others. His abilities and fighting were pretty bad. But through hard work, determination, as well as having support from family, friends, and loved ones that didn't give up on him, Nicholas had proven himself. The part Cerinian had grown into the fox he was today and paid it forward by helping others going through the same struggles as he had. And seeing and hearing all this made Fara admire and love him even more.

Then there was the fact Fara also saw how kind and loving Nicholas could be too. That gaze and smile, one glance was enough to make the vixen get so wet and make her heart melt with love. Especially when the part Cerinian was smirking with amusement, acting goofy, or seeing his bare muscled arms toned and ripped from years of training move which made the spiral tattoo on each ripple. The clothing he wore also indicated he had defined and built up muscles in other areas too. The two foxes had talked a lot, laughed over things, as well as finding out how much they had in common. The vixen from the Lylat nodded in thanks before looking back with her sad and moody face. The member of Star Fox had a pretty good idea what was going on even without reading Fara's mind or picking up on her mood. Not that Krystal would ever dream of invading the privacy of the mind. "Not having quiet as much fun tonight?"

The former firmed her lips a little. "Not really..." Fara then let out a sad sigh. "I know I should be. Believe me Krystal, I'm happy we won but..." She trailed off.

"Because you're having guy troubles?" the pure Cerinian asked.

The other vixen jumped a little while blushing. Was it that obvious? "How did you know?!" Fara asked in a whisper.

"You look exactly like I did before I hooked up with Fox." Krystal jerked her head and the two saw the said male was nearby and waiting for the blue-furred beauty to return to his side. It would seem the pure Cerinian had seen how Fara was looking and had just come over to talk. All three foxes knew there would be no funny business as both females were straight and Krystal would never cheat, swap, or share Fox just like he would never do those things with her. Plus Fara supported the relationship and would never get in the way of that.

"Wait, you were like that? You had your doubts?"

"For me and Fox it was love at first sight and that's why both of us at points had a hard time confessing for fear of rejection. But it worked out in the end." Krystal and Fara looked for a moment out at the sea of species in front of them. "So, spill; who is on your mind and heart?"

The brown-furred female considered not telling, but figured she may as well. The pure Cerinian could just read her mind and it seemed Krystal really was trying be sympathetic to Fara's cause. She might even be able to help. "Just... Him. Nicholas since... I'm in love with him..."

The latter nodded. "I suspected as much without mind reading." Krystal did smile. "Well I think that's wonderful as I can tell you'd make a really good match for him."

The other vixen felt hope but got a sad face. "I... I'm happy to hear that, but..." Here the two ladies spotted the said long-haired male out there. "He just seems so out of my league. It's been quiet tough on me up until this point in addition to the fighting that happened lately..."

"That's rough buddy," Krystal said sympathetically, which made both vixens crack a grin as they knew where that came from. But then the mood got serious and sympathetic again.

"I mean... even without what has happened, I just can't understand why Nicholas hasn't been responsive. I've dropped hints all the time, yet he doesn't seem to pick up on them. I know he respects the privacy of my mind and wouldn't use his telepathy on me without my consent. But I wish he would sometimes as I find it so hard to just say my feelings for him. He's so full of life, everything about him gets me, and after all he's done for me I can't help but be in love with that vulpine..."

"It pretty much sounds like what I had to go through with Fox," Krystal commented, but then grinned. "Did you do what I did when I was trying to let him know my feelings? Have you brushed against him with your tail, dropped things on purpose to bend down in front of Nicholas, wearing a bit more revealing clothing, and snuggled against him on the couch?"

The browned-furred female nodded. "I've done all that," Fara answered, still sad. "But nothing has happened." She pinched the bridge of her nose after taking a swig of the second drink. "God, why are matters of the heart so damn complicated and hard? Why can't they ever be simple?"

"It always is," Krystal agreed. "But I don't think you should give up that easily Fara. Even if I haven't known you as long like Nicholas, I know just like with him, you're not the kind to give up so easily."

"True. But maybe he doesn't think I'm beautiful or something?"

The pure Carmina shook her head vigorously. "No, that is not true at all. And if you doubt it I can say without reading his mind that Nicholas does and can return your feelings."

The first vixen's ears pricked up with a tiny bit of hope while her face was a bit of shock. The same feeling was in her heart. "Wait... he does?!" Fara whispered in shock.

Looking to Krystal showed there was nothing but seriousness on that face and in the eyes. This showed the Cerinian was telling the truth. "You may not see it from your point of view but I can. I've seen the way Nicholas has looked at you; it's exactly how Fox did towards me before we hooked up. I can see the love in that part Cerinian's eyes, the way he smiles softly when talking to you or seeing you walk away Fara. And after doing a quick probe of his mood, I have no doubt, he's in love with you too."

The said female's breath caught in her throat but still had her doubts. "But... Then why hasn't he said anything?"

"If I had to guess, I think it's because he too is uncertain like I was with Fox. Nicholas certainly wouldn't want to be rejected, but there's also probably other reasons why he didn't say anything yet. Maybe part of it was taking time to realize his feelings for you Fara. But then there was this fighting and I think he's held it in because of the danger. However I saw him battling by your side and the look of keeping you safe no matter what." The female from the Lylat thought back to every moment with the part Cerinian and realized Krystal was right. "I'm sure now that this fighting is over, Nicholas is going to make his move to confess to you Fara. It fits very well with him in the past." The reason the pure Cerinian did know this was because her parents and Nicholas's had been friends. So the long-haired vulpine and Krystal had met and gotten to know the other while growing up. But even then, there had been no click in a romantic way for the two foxes. The blue-furred female wasn't Nicholas's type anyway like he wasn't hers. Plus the pure Cerinian had usually been dating someone else every time and Nicholas wasn't about to cheat on anyone. Everyone else knew of this when he and Krystal had explained that part not just in general but to also reassure those in doubt.

Fara looked to the one for her again as he seemed to be heading over to where Cody and Kira were to talk to those otters. "So... maybe now's the time?" the vixen suggested to Krystal.

"Certainly. And if he doesn't make a move, you should. Just wait by his room or something and go for it. I believe you've got nothing to lose at this point. Just say how you feel to him and I'm sure he'll answer right back in the way you want him to. I have no doubt you two will be great for the other and plus he's the kind to commit which it seems that's what you want to be too."

Fara nodded, now encouraged and was determined to either go for it later tonight or tomorrow. "Then I will take up on that advice. And fuck it; better him than anyone or anything else."

"Well said. Good luck and I'll be interested to hear how it goes." Krystal then got up from the bar while the former finished the second drink. The blue-furred female joined Fox and told him what the two had exchanged with words.

Meanwhile the brown-furred female was about to rise up to see if she could talk to Nicholas but then an explosion of noise was heard. Fara jumped as did a few others and whipped their heads towards the source. It was the leader of Star Flight, beyond livid and pissed with anger over Cody who now was clearly shit faced drunk. Kira was trying her best to help. "HEY! THAT'S ENOUGH FOR YOU CODY!" the vulpine shouted, being so loud that even the music and what else was going on couldn't fully drown him out. "I'M CUTTING YOU OFF RIGHT NOW!" That meant no more drinking for the male otter tonight.

Fara saw the mustelidae do a drunk response by the movement of his lips which she assumed Cody saying something like, "Wha... Why? I feel fine... Says who?"

"SAYS ME, YOUR TEAM LEADER; THAT'S FUCKING WHO!" Nicholas yelled back, now starting to go red in the face with anger.

The brown-furred vixen shook her head and shrugged. Cody would probably be dealt with later. At least looking showed Kira say something to the part Cerinian before dragging her boyfriend's ass out of here before more trouble happened. Fara then saw the long-haired male take a deep breath before calming down. He did apologize and very quickly things went back to normal like nothing had happened. There was no more trouble tonight at this establishment and Cody wouldn't be kicked off the team. It was just another time where somebody's antics went a little too far. But nothing serious of course. But this night was far from over and it would lead to something new and wonderful for Nicholas and Fara.

Later that same night found the part Cerinian walking down one of the hallways of the Star Flight mothership that was parked and resting nearby in outer space by Cluster Nebula. Like the one Star Fox used, this vehicle was also a dreadnaught class carrier. Each Star Flight member had their own quarters or rooms to sleep in, and there were guests ones in case other team members need a temporary place to sleep. The ship also hosted a medical bay area, a living and lounge room, a training area for flight simulations and area to practice shooting and hand to hand combat, a workout room, and a place to prepare food and eat meals. There were also a number of storage areas to keep cleaning supplies, extra items and food, as well as the vault to store valuable and dangerous objects. Finally there was the holding cell in case of transporting dangerous criminals along with the docking bay. The latter could house not just all the X-Striker fighters Star Flight used, but also had space for a few guess ships, and even the I-Striker Tanks and the two subs used on aquatic missions as well. This ship had everything needed to keep Nicholas and his team happy. Especially since the vulpine wanted was best for the group as a happy one meant a much easier time living on board. The part Cerinian walked past one of the windows in the corridor he was in that showed a glorious view of the stars as seen in the Lylat while being in outer space. His green colored eyes drank in the sight for a moment, smiling. There was a lot to be happy and proud of, showing that coming to this system had been the right choice after all.

Nicholas never forgot where he came from or his Cerinian heritage. And while the long-haired male did love his home system and the planet in there he'd been born, there had been a calling inside the male somewhere to leave and head to the Lylat. The part Cerinians were aware of Lylat and not because of Krystal going to it. The former and his people had known about the system long before that due to the technology in some areas being even more advance. They had discovered Lylat and the inhabitants by scanners. No move for invasion had happened but Nicholas felt his calling and purpose was there. After much talking and planning, he, Cody, Kira, and Ben left all they knew behind and journeyed to the new system after gaining the mother ship and all the vehicles on board. This included acquiring three robots with four arms each named Wire, Robert, and Jazz to help with some of the tasks and jobs needed to keep things running smoothly. Then Star Flight had grown by how many others joined, true love had happened, and without Star Flight, some of the worst things that had happened like the evil crime syndicate would have ended much differently. Now with the Lylat system at peace again, things could finally settle down and normal life could go on. Especially with the love and relationships developing further. Nicholas had seen them all grow and progress along just like with the growth others had made, including himself when it came to being on a team and getting stronger for the kind of work they did. He could remember the points of progression reached as each one felt like a grand achievement. This certainly applied more to him given how things were in the past.

Although Nicholas had been trained like all part Cerinians in the ways of fighting and everything, this fox had actually really struggled. It was so bad that there were those who not only wondered if Nicholas really was a part Cerinian, despite the obvious fact he was, there were those who went a step further by giving him a hard time. They harassed, put the male down, discouraged the fox, and telling Nicholas to give up, that he would never succeed and be a true part Cerinian. But not everyone was like that. There were those who not only truly supported the vulpine, but had helped him and never gave up on the long-haired male. Nicholas though had put in the effort because he knew and believe he could do it. By working extra hard, the effort showed as the part-Cerinian wasn't doing this to prove the haters wrong; it was for himself and those who believed in him and truly had his back. Nicholas not only showed others wrong, he had proven himself time and time again not just with leading his team, but also succeeding in mission after mission as well as also being victorious in battle. But the long-haired male never gloated about it or rubbed it in other's faces. He was humble, always remembering what it had been like to be helpless once, that there were friends and allies to help and be trusted back up, or fighting side by side with him. That was why Nicholas always paid it forward to others who had been in similar situations as not only did he know what it had been like once, the fox wanted to be there for them and help like others had. The other reason was a lot of what had been done to get better had been on the male's own time with nobody else to help other than his own determination and never giving up no matter what. Nicholas didn't want others to feel like they were alone and nobody cared about them when the long-haired part Cerinian did at least. As Star Flight began to make a name for itself in the Lylat, the other qualities and traits that made Nicholas a good and carrying leader, as well as his abilities for fighting and flying had a chance to shine. Battling against that horrid crime syndicate had just been one of the greatest tests for him, his team, and their friends and allies in life and had come out on top.

Nicholas in the present stretched before continuing down the hallway towards his room on the Star Flight mother ship. He had a lot to be happy and proud about. One thing was this ship that had blasted so many enemies and things with the powerful laser canons, and it severed his team well. Nicholas also was grateful to all of them and the other friends and allies for sticking with him through the thick and thin as well as how far everyone had come. Sure, all of them had their faults, but nobody was perfect and this applied to him as well. At least these were being worked on to be better species. That included Cody who despite his drunk antics tonight, Nicholas's anger at that otter had been cooled off. He valued the otter's friendship too much to end it or kick the mustelidae off the team. That was what true friends and teammates were about and wouldn't let something little like that get in the way. This extended to those in Star Flight, Star Wolf, and the Hot Rodders. Nicholas had seen the teamwork between all four groups, the friendships, and even the true love and romance that had blossomed and grown into such beautiful and wonderful things. The long-haired vulpine was glad things were now over with the fighting against that crime syndicate. The fox with long hair figured the romance could continue on, new friends and allies would be made between the Lylat and the part Cerinians who had fought with them as comrades-in-arms. That meant now after taking some days of rest, the next real work would begin with solidifying trading deals, treaties, and other things to maintain the alliance that had been forged. Things were certainly going to get busy but there would still be time to focus on other stuff.

Tonight though only happy celebrating had happened and Nicholas was overall pleased that had gone well. He paused in the hallway by the viewing glass and stretched again but with a content sigh. Right now there was one goal in mind. "First a shower is in order to get the stink of the day off my body," he thought in his head before continuing on the walk towards his room on board. The fox's boots made slight sounds of footsteps from making contact with the metal floor. "And then..." The long-haired male's stride which had been content and happy suddenly became sadder and lacked energy as what came next to him soured the good mood. His tail that had been swishing back and forth and in time with each step dropped sadly which matched the look on his face which fell with a frown. "I go to bed by myself... all alone without her by my side to be happy with and keep warm with love..."

The vulpine's thoughts were instantly flooded with images of Fara Phoenix. Nicholas wanted nothing more than to have the vixen by his side in a loving relationship because as Krystal had told the said female, the part Cerinian indeed could return the same feelings back. Just like how others could think and feel in the same way as their best friends, the differences were still there. And sure, an enemy could make a complete identical copy of Fara from her DNA, have that fake act and behave in the exact same way, perhaps even make the abomination think and feel the same way, there would always be something off that Nicholas could detect and sense. That applied to any of his other friends, allies, and teammates too because there was one thing an enemy could never duplicate at all. It was the memories, soul, and spiritual heart of anyone that couldn't be faked or replaced no matter what and with no exception. The part Cerinian had made sure to memorize everyone's thought patterns and emotional reading by heart for just such an occasion, but especially when it came to Fara that he loved so much. Krystal had done the same thing but especially for Fox whom she felt the same amount of love for. Thanks to this, and the fact both the Cerinian and part one could detect emotions like malicious intent as well as communicate with others by thought, that had helped the others with fighting against the horrid fake female and male abominations made by the enemy. Even if any telepathy abilities had been blocked, other factors helped when figuring out who was a fake and who was real.

When it came to Fara, Nicholas knew without a doubt they could be a perfect couple. Every single thing about her physically and personality wise had hit him hard in the heart. When the part Cerinian had first come to the Lylat and recruiting others, the male hadn't been planning on finding or falling in love like with her. It had just happened from the moment he met the vixen. Everything about this fox from Lylat had gotten Nicholas. From that loving and kind personality, those beautiful green eyes and light brown fur, her laugh and smile, all the way down to Fara's gorgeous and sexy body and curves. Nicholas had respect for Fara but at times the long-haired male got hope. Especially when the hints had been dropped. The male had done that and swore once the final battle was over he was going to let Fara know how he felt regardless of the outcome. The part Cerinian could have easily lost her during the crisis but fortunate and love had been with them and that horror hadn't happened. That was why during this period of resting, Nicholas would do everything starting tomorrow to make all his time be with her as much as possible to get to that point of hooking up. "When it does happen, I swear I will make my Fara happy and loved," the part Cerinian thought in his head. "I don't see her like so many others do. Fara isn't some sex addict or slut. She's not a sexual object; she's a beautiful fox meant to be loved the right way. I don't see her how most do, I see her the right kind of way. And when we do hook up, I swear I will treat her well like a vixen goddess queen."

Nicholas rounded the corner and there she was, waiting against the wall in front of the entrance. He was momentarily distracted by seeing Fara looking lovely as always. The yellow-haired fox also noticed from the way her body was leaning against the wall that his teammate and secret love had been waiting for him. There was also something else the part Cerinian was picking up without using his powers. Like there was a different feeling around Fara than normal. "Um, hey Nicholas," she said. Although the male didn't see it, her body was slightly trembling with nerves but her heart was set on what she wanted to tell him.

Both of their eyes met, a slight blush warming their cheeks. "Hey there Fara, what are you doing here?" he replied.

The brown-furred female straightened up before walking up to the bigger male. Looking showed he was that being at 5'7 since she stood at 5'5. "I... I was waiting for you to come here since I really need to talk to you about something. You've got a couple of minutes?"

"Damn! Guess I'll have to wait on that shower!" the part Cerinian thought. But Nicholas wasn't annoyed or angry at Fara. He never could be with her.

"Of course Fara," the vulpine said kindly. "You know I've always got time for you."

He thought she would say it out here but the vixen shook her head. "Not here; can we talk in private?" the female whispered.

This was a turn the bigger fox hadn't been excepting, but respected her choice. "That's fine with me."

Nicholas turned to the keypad on the right side of the door to his room. He quickly punched in the entry code on the key pad before using a finger scanner to get past the final security. The door opened smooth and quietly.

"After you," he offered to Fara who went in first, now a bit more nervous but didn't falter in what she wanted to do. The part Cerinian was right behind her and the door to his room closed behind them.

The female took the few brief seconds she had to glance around Nicholas's living quarters. She had been in here a few times in the past when helping the part Cerinian move things out or when delivering an item or package. The place looked and smelled like the vulpine had cleaned it recently. And there was a very comfy, warm, bright, and homely feeling to this room. It was just like the long-haired male and shown by the decor in here. The flooring wasn't metal but instead a bit more carpet like in substance. The color of it matched the walls. A couple of metal shelves were here to hold various items the orange-furred fox had that ranged from what he valued, to things he wore everyday like his glasses. In one corner was a large metal dresser to hold clothing while the closet was next to that. Fara also notice the door to the bathroom as every living quarters had one with a shower too. And there against the wall was the large bed, big enough for two with the green covers and port window that would allow Nicholas to look out at outer space while resting. The size of this place, like with all the living quarters, was big enough for two species and this was no exception.

The part Cerinian here leaned against one of the walls here, arms crossed in a casual and relaxed kind of way.

"So, what's on your mind Fara?" he asked. "Did you have a good time tonight at Cluster Nebula?"

She took a deep breath before letting it out. In her mind her resolved was set in stone. "I did, but that's not what I wanted to talk to you about." The two were looking at the other now. The vixen paused a beat, scratching the back of her head nervously. "Nicholas... We've been teammates and good friends for a while now, right?" In her head, the female scolded herself to not put the part Cerinian in the friend zone.

He nodded in agreement with a smile. "Yeah, I'd say we are. We have worked together more than with any of the others. It's been longer than a while too. I'd say I trust and value you very much Fara especially since we've fought side by side, been through hell and back; we've even faced against death more than once for certain." The long-haired male paused a second. "I'd say we're close too."

"Yeah, that's us!" Fara made some finger blaster motions with her right paw and even imitated the sound the weapon made. She was trying to diffuse her nerves and the tension building since both were alone in his room after all.

Nicholas smirked with amusement at her antics as she was just so cute and adorable while letting out a chuckle. But he then got serious. "Look Fara, I'm kinda tired and I feel there's more to this than just a friendly chat. I'm sure whatever it is you want to say I can take it. Especially since... Author's notes: That was a long story but worth it. Especially when I don't have hours a day to spend on writing. I have other life responsibilities. And it's not easy to write at all, especially when creating a good story and finding the right words to put down. It's not like writing a script for a play, movie, or even a comic/manga. You have to not only describe what the characters look like, but also how the think and feel, be able to make your audience connect or relate to them, and even describe in greater detail the surroundings and settings. The other things visually solves a lot of those problems for the audience because they see it. A story like this or chapters in a series needs to help paint the picture in the mind of the reader. So some may go, oh writing is easy and I can do it with no problem, they are wrong because it's a lot harder than they think. To me, a true writer can paint a picture in the head so well, and also have a lot of love and passion put in. Especially when it comes to a series. This can apply to art as well for the other two things in my view and opinion. But of course improvement can always be done. In any case, this is more of what I want to see out there so no matter what others make think or say, good or bad, I will still continue to write and do what I love because it's too much of a part of me to ever give up.
