Chapter 12: Jalhamut vs Benson

Daniel sat back down in his seat in the MVP section, watching Uraku strut over to his seat and waving to the cheering fans. Kilch eventually emerged from the stairway too and walked over to his seat. He had a smile on his face, some of his fans still cheering for him. Daniel was glad that the big brute was a good sport about it.

He saw the red fox not far from him on the left lift up the hood of his black robe, holding out his paw to his left and vanishing in a midst of black powder. Nobody seemed phased by the display except for Daniel. He looked over to where Jalhamut sat, noticing that he had already gotten out of his seat and was jogging over to the stairs nearby where Daniel was. The cheetah gave Daniel an amorous quirk of a brow before jogging down the stairs.

Daniel was bright red. Was the cheetah showing interest in him? Come to think of it, Uraku, the vixens, girls at the celebration...he seemed like the sex toy of this world. Although the prospect of everybody wanting to get in his pants was kind of exciting, he also felt a little depressed that Uraku might only want Daniel for his sex. And, if they ever got into an actual relationship, Daniel wants it to be exclusive...to show the devotion.

The elephant returned to the middle of the arena, ready to announce the next battle.

"A fabulous first match indeed! Personally, I have been looking much more forward to this matchup! These two have a long history together, and not the most benevolent one. They didn't get the chance to fight in the last tournament, but now they can put to rest once and for all...who is the mightiest!"

"In the South gateway. The neighborhood's friendly dark sorcerer, the spawn of great evil that rebelled against his master, the master of foul play...BEEEENNNNNSSSSONNNN!"

A dark mist appeared between the elephant and the South gate, the red fox appearing with his black hooded robe, left paw and arm outstretched. He lowered his arm to his side, letting the robe's sleeve cover his paw like the other. The crowd was light on the welcome, only a portion of the onlookers clapping respectfully for him.

"And in the North gateway! His agility can make bird's jealous. His charm can make your heart melt. The king of Bai'ji himself...JALLLLLHAMUUUUUT!"

The king sprinted out on all fours with such speed, Daniel's eyes could hardly keep up. Not only was he fast...but he circumvented the need for acceleration. He sprinted full speed to his target destination between the elephant and the North gateway, then suddenly stopped, holding his tail up high to swivel it side to side as he roared out loudly, enticing the wildest and loudest cheering from the crowd. Daniel held his sensetive ears along with some of the younger furs in the stadium. Jalhamut got up onto his two feet, showing off the two claws he had strapped to his wrists. The sharp spikes were sleeved with rubber for obvious reasons.

Daniel looked over at Uraku, noticing the tiger quickly avert his eyes to the arena after previously looking at Daniel. The tiger looked...angry? Daniel turned his head back to the arena after hearing the elephant's blow of his trunk to initialize the battle.

Jalhamut held his arms behind him as he leaned forward quite far before darting at his opponent with such incalculable velocity. He swung his arm at the fox, striking him dead on in the chest with his claw. The fox's body started to puff out in a cloud of smoke. Jalhamut looked around frantically, searching for where his target teleported to. Benson reappeared in mid-air, above the battle grounds. The cheetah was sprinting around, trying to find where his prey had escaped to.

"Hmph...easy." grunted the red fox as he held out his paw at Jalhamut. A loud screech was heard as a large black sphere left from his paw and barreled down at the king. Jalhamut quickly reacted to the sound, sidestepping from the darkness just in time to let it crush harmlessly into the ground. Benson growled angrily, holding both paws out and rapidly firing tons of smaller dark spheres at the cheetah. The cheetah had an excited look on his face as he waited for the balls to reach him. Then he started showing off to his fans, doing courtwheels, backflips, frontflips, and various odd stances to dodge the barrage. The crowd cheered on as he displayed his skills.

Benson sent one last ball of darkness before disappearing again and reappearing just behind Jalhamut who was still busy dodging the incomming darkness. Once the last ball was avoided, Benson shoved his paws into Jalhamut's back and enveloped the cheetah in a large orb of darkness. Jalhamut let out a loud cry of sorrow. Everybody could hear Jalhamuts misery as every moment of depression, loss, betrayal he suffered from in the past had been resurfaced and piled up to create a weak heart. As the darkness dissipated, Benson just stood there for a bit, watching Jalhamut writhe on the ground in agony. He wasn't crying from his wounds...but from his depression.

The audience fell silent. They knew it was over. Benson had destroyed Jalhamut's will to fight, and could now simply toss him around. Benson held out his paw to Jalhamut, the cheeta rising into the air on his own before he was slammed into the wall near where Daniel sat. Benson pulled back his arm and shoved it forward again and again, forcing Jalhamut's body to repeatedly slam against the wall. Daniel looked in horror as bigger and bigger bloodstains appeared. It wouldn't be long before he had a broken face too. Jalhamut raised his head slightly, eyes going blurry from the repeated blows to the head. He saw the outline of Daniel, which brought a smile to him even in this time of great suffering.

Jalhamut reached up his claw, somewhat laughing as he slowly stood up. The telekenises wasn't working anymore, and Benson was cursing loudly as he frantically tried to regain control. The fox threw another barrage of dark balls at the cheetah, but this time instead of dodging, Jalhamut jumped through the barrage, letting ball after ball of misery envelop him as he reached the red fox in the air. Jalhamut reached out for the fox's neck, grabbing a tight hold of him and almost choking him. The cheetah pulled his fist back and punched Benson straight in the jaw, the loud crack of impact signaling what just happened. They both fell from their mid-air locations, both hitting the ground hard and not moving.

Jalhamut was the first to move again, slowly getting up on all fours and sobbing. All those miseries he had in the past were relived each time a ball hit his body. He crawled over to Benson, holding his paws against the red fox's throat. "But...how?" Benson asked.

"Becuase I have a reason to fight." replied the cheetah befoer Benson passed out. Jalhamut stood up, wiping tears from his eyes as he looked over to Daniel and smiled. Daniel drowned out all the cheering as he processed what just happened between those two.

Jalhamut was basically just telling Benson that he wanted to impress Daniel, and that drove him to a strong will against the darkness. Could the cheetah have feelings for Daniel? Daniel didn't think Uraku was interested in him in a romantic way, but the cheetah was fighting a brooding depression for Daniel's sake...he thinks. Daniel knows human psychology well, and what certain actions can infer...but these aren't humans, so human psychology may not apply here.

Jalhamut finished pleasing the cheering crowd before he approached Daniel's seat, hopping over the tall wall to be next to him. He crouched down, eye to eye with the boy. "Hey, Daniel. After your match, I'd like to see you in my chamber, please. The path is marked with red carpet. You should see it on your way back to your room." The cheetah got up and walked back to his seat now, tail swaying so perfectly as those sexy buns stretch out that speedo.

Daniel almost melted at the summons to the king's bedroom. Perhaps the cheetah was going to ask him out? What if he was!? What should he say? He felt something for Uraku before, but now he felt something for Jalhamut. He didn't know what to do without seeming like a whore.

Daniel didn't notice, but Uraku was growling in jealousy after he saw Jalhamut talking to Daniel. "Jal...don't you even think about it." he muttered.

Sorry if this was a shorter fight than yall wanted. The next fight will be pretty sweet though! Two magic users, PEW PEW!
