Exciting. Nervousness. Betray.

It was a nervous day, but maybe it would be a good day. A young kid sitting in the car looking at the window while his mother is driving. Listening to music and looking at the neighborhood. Trying to not overthink much about the new school life. Though it won't be long for finishing since it would be one year left for Akio before he graduates and move on to middle school. A 12-year-old boy is ready to start a new day. It seems kind of strange that he had to transfer from his old school, although it wasn't much of a choice... since his body started to change when he was in 5th grade. A sudden red eye changed in the middle of the class. It was a surprise between him and the teacher so they called his mother about these drastic changes. Some thought that it might be a rare disease. To his mother, she explained it was early puberty. That was natural and needs to take some days off until he's fully changed... But that was a lie. The truth is that sudden change; was from his line of generations that is called Huay Chivo Birth. The mother explain to him that there would be some developed body alterations for receiving him a 'gift'. This gift she clarified was more like a spiritual being that would be hosting his body for the rest of his life. Imprisonment as Akio described. It was hard aside from sudden eyes colors, he also have a few marks on his body. The golden and brown colors, It was the cause of Huay Chivos's possession. An unexpected change to his appetite is that now, he has to eat meat like any carnivore. The kids in the class frightened him and had been going a distance, for safety measures. That was the one thing Akio misery... So his mother took him out of school and started the homeschool programs. It was the only safest way until his "adjustments" was over. One year passed and Akio started his new life, ready for a new school.

There were moments of silence between Akio and the mother in the car, as no one spoke for a while when they are getting close to their destinations. Akio was nervous about a new turn but his mother was worried about something else. "Are you exciting to see your new school?" she finally said.

Akio awoke from daydreaming. "Y-yeah, kind of nervous how this goes." He said with a sheepish smile.

"I know that from what happened last year was... a sudden to you. But things would be good to you from now on." She smiles reassuringly at her son.

"Yeah, that's... awesome." He said with a wiry smile.

Another fall silent in the car once more and he looked at the window. Akio didn't intend to break off the conversation. He was... concerned. That might happen again in the middle of the class. The mother looks at him, knowing that he is been overthinking.

"Is going to be okay Akio, have faith in yourself and be more confident," she said when reaches his hand and held on to show that everything will be fine. Though he did not look back at her, he hold her hand in motion to show "thank you" in return.

Akio notices the school is getting closer. Seeing the sign the name "Thomas Ongay Elementary" was sure enough that this is his place. He saw kids with their backpacks and hanging out with some friends and some groups around the entrance. He felt a little... tenseness. The mother parked the car neared the sidewalks.

"Alright, this is where you start the new chapter. But before you go in, let's make a few rules and explained about few things" his mother started "You got to make sure that you don't eat any meat in class or anyone see you eating it. Cause as the goats, we only eat herbivores."

"It feels so weird when you eat meat... it smell so bad when I was small but... it changes and is smell so..." he stopped.

"I know... but that's how it is. Just try to eat veggies and act like you are an herbivore. But if you get really hungry, I made sandwiches that have meat. Just don't share anyone."

"Okay." He nodded.

"The second part; never tells anyone about... him." she looks seriously when mentioning Huay. "He is not exactly bad... But he is not good. He is a mischievous being. So be careful of what he is trying to ask you." That would be a challenge to him since Huay can hear and see everything. And mostly annoying if Akio didn't pay him attention.

"I'll... try." He nodded forcefully.

"And lastly, you have to remain calm. The more emotions you felt, the stronger he would get. He is a part of you, be careful with that."

She suddenly kisses his forehead of Akio and put her two hands, squishing his cheek. "You'll do great, love you, sweetie." She smiles gently once more.

With that, Akio blushed and got out of the car and close the door. Walked towards the entrance of the school while he look back to see his mother, he waves at her and she drove away.

"Apita Atabey! Doesn't she knows that I'm listening!?"

An annoyed familiar voice came once again to Akio's ears. He cannot see the appearances of Huay, except can hear him while no one was able to. His voice mixed with foreign language and roughly English, he sounds like slang or a vulgar being. Though a spirit that has been living on this earth for more than 2,132 years old.

"How annoying of her... I'm not THAT bad! I get bored if I don't have anything to entertain." he sneered.

"... Just please don't make much trouble while we're at school, Huay." Akio sighted.

"So this is school... Oete' ni bisoj ra." Though Akio was not sure of what he is trying to say. It's probably not a pleasant word.

"Why do we have to stay here? Can't we just go somewhere besides here?"

"Please Huay, this is important to me. I need to finish at least one year so I can graduate."

"HEKETI SIRIEKO?!"

"Please don't shout! I know that it would be a pain but, we have to do this." He tried to stay calm from that shout for not to make a scene in the public.

"Meeeehhh... ma´alob tu´un. Fine. I'll behave... but if this place sucks, I'll make you wet your bed every night in your sleep."

With a long sigh, Akio nodded. As he look at the school once more, he prayed for nothing bad would happen on the first day. He entered the school and saw more students coming in than outside. Some are texting on their phones while others are talking about a few trending shows. One after another as Akio passed through the crowds in the hallway, one of the students was astonished when they look at him. Probably they notice Akio's appearances. Who would anyone walk around with spiky hair that has highlighted golden colors and a few body marks on their first day? He became little attention to students. Akio try to focus on finding the bulletin board so he would know where his classroom would be. He started to feel nervous that some are catching eyes on him. Hearing some comments that he looks "Cute" and "cool". That's probably not directly at him... maybe. He notice then a few of them are gather the board and headed there. Scanning around each paper to see where his name is at and found it. His teacher's name is Ms. Mary and her class is on the second floor. And so without any waste of time, he hurried to the stairs. As expected more student is passing through. A school bell started to ring and it means that the class has started. He found the teacher's nameplate on the door and enter. When he passed in, Akio saw a few boys and girls seated and talking. As to be expected they made a reaction to seeing him. Uncomfortable, he adverted and look down at the ground and stand still. Waited for his teacher to come.

At the right time, a female came in and hurried in. "I'm so sorry that I was late everyone." She said and the students quiet down.

"Today we have a new student, and it seems he beat me to it before I was looking for him." she chuckles "So let's give him a warm welcome and tell us your name."

Nervousness once more, Akio cleared his throat and tried to stay calm. "H-Hi! m-my name is Akio Aria. And I'm new here." He waves at the class... though everyone knew that answer, he felt embarrassed.

"Uicu' O'ot'hil chin tiao..." He heard Huay's foreign language in his left ear. Probably means "you poor fool" to his guess.

"Alright, class. Please be nice to your new friends. Akio, you'll be sitting over there right next to Darren."

Ms. Mary points to the empty desk. Akio timidly walk towards and sat. Took it out the note and pencil to get ready for the lesson.

The bell rang and the first lesson was over. When Ms. Mary left, the students were still in the classroom waiting for the next teacher. Akio rested a little until the boy next to him started to chat.

"Hey, my name is Darren. Nervous of your first day huh?" he said

"Yeah..." Akio sheepishness smile

"Don't worry, everyone gets that. But you seem so cool with all of that get up. Did your parents allow you to have tattoos?"

"Ah no, is more like I was born with it, is a gens from my dad's side." He hesitated.

"For real? That's cool! Let's be friends. I gotta show you a few things around here" he energetic delighted.

"Ah! S-sure!"

That was the first time he made a friend, it was happy and nervous for Akio. When recess came, Darren gave him a tour around the school. About where the library would be and the cafeterias at. He then also shows to Darren's other friends that hang out in their spot and talks about their new games coming next few days. It was a very good day. After school was over he headed home and talked to his mother about his day. The mother was so eager to hear everything went well that she order pizza for his day. When they ate and it came to nighttime, Akio went to his room went lay down on his bed.

"Man, I'm happy that things went okay. Thank you for not giving me trouble, Huay" he said.

"Meeh. I was been sleepy the whole day because I knew it would suck at that school. Seeing you are happy about making a friend and learning, guess I'll just behave." He grumbles. "Still, don't you think you're too comfy all of this too soon? I mean is just your first day. You don't know what's gonna happen for tomorrow or the next day if things don't last this happiness..."

It was like a weight of Akio's joys suddenly drops down like a boulder. He knew what Huay was talking about. "I just... I wanted to be normal for once..." he frowned.

"Ari, you change your mood too quickly. What I'm trying to say is, don't get too emotional over the small stuff. Just be careful about trusting too much with other people that you barely don't know, not everyone is always a good person. Everyone has dark secrets that they don't want to reveal. And trying to act like normal in the social life."

Akio covers his eyes with a blanket. "I know... good night, Huay." And fell asleep.

3 days later and Akio got used to school life very well. Though Huay was been nagging for wanted to leave the school and explore other places. Almost gonna give some trouble for trying to do mischief in class like floating chalks or switching lights to spook them. He's been thinking of what to do in that situation of how to entertain Huay. When the class was over, it was another day to wait for recess to come. So the teacher allows the students to do some little free time in class before it happens. Akio was been talking to Darren and he shows something of his action figure toy.

"Check it out! Is the toy I wanted it! It was from the series of Featherman, Red Hawk!" He gave Akio of the Red Hawk toy. And it looks like one of that red ranger that looks like a hawk. Akio never got interested in watching those series so he just pretended to be interested in his friend.

"You have to see the show, man. You're gonna love it!"

"Darren, can you come here? We need to talk about the plans for the weekends!"

He stands up and walks away to meet them while leaving Akio alone with the toy. He has no idea of what to do with it so he just puts it back to the desk to Darren's. The bell rang and all the students when out of the classroom.

A while later when Akio is eating in the cafeteria, Darren came to him. "Hey Akio, where did you put my red hawk?"

"I put it back on your desk." He said

"Oh okay, maybe I didn't see it when we were all out of class." After that Darren left.

A little while when Akio was outside the school, Darren came again to ask him. "I look around my desk and I don't see it. Are you sure you put it back?"

"Of course, I put it there. I left it when you were talking to your friends."

"You are not lying to me are you?" he asked again.

"No, I'm not lying to you!" After that Darren looked at the Akio for a while, then left again. He was sure he left the toy on Darren's desk before they left the classroom.

Recess was over and they all return to the classroom, Akio look at Darren if he found his toy. But he realized later that Darren stare him back. Felt awkward... as it felt like he is accusing Akio for stole his toy. School has ended and Akio tried to talk to him outside of the school.

"Hey I didn't steal your toy, I left it at your desk when you were gone."

"You are lying! I look around and I don't see it so you are the one who stole it!" Darren claimed.

"I didn't! I swear!"

"Then let me see your backpack!"

"Darren, no!"

Darren suddenly grab Akio's backpack and tried to yank him out to search for his toy. Akio pulled it back because he still has the meat sandwich and doesn't want to show his secrets. There were some struggles and arguments when the security of the school saw them and broke their fighting.

"What's going on here?!"

"He stole my toy!" Darren pointed to Akio.

"I didn't steal it Darren!" he repeated.

"Okay, that's enough! Tomorrow we are all going to the principal and we would explain this situation better!"

Darren left without even explaining more, leaving Akio shocked. Why did it turn out like this, he thought to himself. The security guard told Akio that he should be headed home as well.

The next morning both Akio and Darren are at the principal office. Darren kept saying Akio stole his favorite toy and Akio kept saying he left it at Darren's desk. Though Darren got into trouble for bringing the toy to school so he got punished by writing an essay letter. As for Akio, since he didn't do anything wrong they let go of him. That's where Darren got furious even more, and return to their class.

There was silence between Akio and him. No matter how many times he tells Darren the truth, he doesn't believe it. All of the sudden, every time the class ended; Darren was been avoided him. And it wasn't just him only, his others friend are doing the same. The feeling of being betrayed... was the worst feeling Akio that ever felt. Huay had told him before that it didn't last that long for this happiness, but he didn't expect it would come sooner. Akio tried to remember what his mother told him about not letting the emotion gets out of control. So he tried to stay calm and neutral. It was hurt yet, he has to compose and move on.

The next day during recess, Akio went to the boy's restroom. Alone, he was washing his hands and looked in the mirror. Kept thinking if this was normal to fight it over for some missing toy. That changed everything when he heard the door open and saw Darren once more. Behind him, there were two of his friends. Akio startles, His heart started rapidly. All three of them stare at him. No one spoke for a while. Stare and still, Akio doesn't know what to do in this situation. Then two of Darren's friends started to move and rush over to grab Akio. He tried to run away. Yet he can't because he's been corner to the wall as both of them grabs his arms, and forcedly bend his knees to the floor. Akio started to panic as they holds him down Darren started to move towards him closer.

"I'll ask you once more time. Where. Is. My. Red Hawk?" He demanded.

"I-I told you I don't know! Darren, you're scaring me..." Akio trembles.

"If you don't give me back by tomorrow, then I'll..." Without a warning, he suckers punch him on to Akio's gut.

"So you better bring it tomorrow or else I'll keep hurting you."

Without no wait to reply, all three fled to the bathroom, leaving him to collapse on the floor as he felt so much pain. Akio wanted to scream, he wanted to call help. But for his dumb reasons, he thought Darren is still his friend. He wanted to let it out of his emotions and cry. But he can't... He has to stay in control. No matter how much pain he felt, he has to retrain. While Akio was still on the floor, he started to breathe slowly. He stands up slowly as he grabs the sink, trying to support the weight. He look at the mirror and said to himself "Everything is going to be okay." The bell rang, is time to get back to the classroom. Akio started to walk wobbly. Yet he pushes on into the classroom and repeats encouraging words "you got this." "Is going to be okay."

Got almost late in the classroom when Ms. Mary was about to close the door. Then suddenly she notice something was wrong with him. "Are you alright dear?" she asked.

He look around the class when spotted Darren was there. "... I'm fine. I just trip over. That's all." he calmly responded.

"Well come in, we're about to start!"

Akio walks into the classroom and heads to his desk. He saw Darren... but he decided to not make a scene and focus on the class. "Stay calm... everything would be okay... stay calm..." he whisper to himself.

Time passed on and the bell rang. Students started to get up and ready to be headed home. Akio was still seated, trying to recover from that punch as he rubbing to his belly. He took a quick glimpse if Darren already left... he is still there, glaring. Starting to feel anxious, he averted once more and look down.

"Hey, Darren. Umm, there's something I need to give you."

"That's my toy! Red Hawk!"

Akio was alarmed by his voice when he looks Darren again and sees of that red figure again. "Where did you find him?!"

"Sorry I didn't give you sooner. After you left, your toy was left it there so I took it because I know someone might steal it. I forgot to bring it yesterday so is a good thing I remember it now before you headed home."

At that moment. It was... speechless. He took the toy. Akio was wide open when he heard it. Darren felt so relieved... but when he looks at Akio, his mood changed. "A-Akio... Umm, hey. I... got it back..." he smiled... just like that... He just smiled...

Akio grab his belongs, stands up, and just headed to the door. With no stopping, he just marched out of the school. Anger. Betrayed. He started to tear up. "I just wish that guy would go away." He whispered once again, breaking and shaken.

In the classroom, Darren sat there with his toy in his hand. Felt ashamed that he did something so terrible with Akio. He put the toy in his backpack and head out of the class. When all of the sudden, the one who gave him his toy started to talk.

"Hey Darren, are you okay? You look pale."

"Really? I didn't notice... Hey, maybe that's why I feel cold of a sudden. Did it get cooler in the room all of the sudden?"
