The silence
The silence rolls like thunder
Amongst the moon lit plains
Whispers flood the air I breathe
From the coos of water cranes
Nestled deep in slumber
My dreams complete my mind
Complimenting my every wish
I'd been wishing for some time
All of this is what I know
And all I know is what I have
Can you help me break this secret?
That locks this better path?
Influencing these harbored thoughts
That trickle over me like rain.
Ensuring passions long forgotten
Echoed faintly through my brain.
Allowing me to slip away
In fantasy, but not dismay.
Into a world of endless pleasure
Far too great to even measure.
Where grass so gently dances
Flowing softly in the breeze.
A world so full of beauty
That it brings me to my knees.
Increasing in abundance
As I walk this new set path.
Where a spectrum never seen before
Creates a scene I can't ignore
I feel it though, slipping away
Waking from a summer day
And returning promptly into gloom
Alone, awake inside my room.
