Thunderbolts and Lightening

Chapter 2

So seem to have liked the first one, because I got some watches. So, I decided as long as at least some people like it, I might as well continue :P

Note, this one will have MULTIPLE PERSPECTIVES (yaaaaaaaaaaaay :)

DISCLAIMER!!

~~Silas~~

I pulled into the schools parking lot. This would be the beginning of the end of high school, and soon a new chapter in my life would start. I took the keys out of the ignition, when I saw someone unfamiliar walking across the parking lot. A golden fox strode quickly across the parking lot, and though his bangs covered his face, I could tell he was flustered. I grabbed the rest of my stuff and got out of the car, and walked after the fox. To get his attention I yelled to him. The fox jumped a little, and turned around nervously.

"Oh, um....hi" was his response.

Then I realized he hadn't even introduced himself to the fox.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself" I said quickly "I'm Silas" I told him smiling "What's your name?" I asked cocking my head a little

"Oh, my name is Jake" the fox said a little less nervous now "Nice to meet you"

"Nice to meet you too" I said cheerfully "You look a little lost, and I don't remember seeing you before. Are you new?"

"Yeah, I moved here over the summer, I took the time to find out where the school was, but totally forgot to find out where my classes were" Jake stated.

"Let me see your schedule, and maybe I'll be able to help you from there"

When the fox handed him the schedule, he noticed that they had all of the same classes

"Well, you're in luck! We have all of the same classes, so I'll be able to show you around" I said as I handed Jake his schedule. A look of relief swept across the foxes face.

"Follow me" I told him as I turned and pushed through the doors of the school, Jake following behind me.

~~Jake~~

As I walked inside, I noticed the school seemed bigger than I initially had though. I looked around to make sure I wouldn't lose the lion guiding me through the school. There was quite a crowd; an ocean of people filled the halls. So many people in one school was foreign to me, my last school was so much smaller in population, and just looking down this one hallway seemed to dwarf it. I started to feel the gaze of some of the people I passed, trying to figure out who I was.

I turned my attention to the lion in front of me, and I started to look him over. He had more muscle tone than I initially thought, and he looked to be about 5'11 or 6', not much taller than me. My eyes drifted south to his butt, it was toned, like the rest of his body. However, I was more submissive than dominant, so it didn't interest me as much as what was on the other side of the strong looking lion. At that moment, Silas turned around, and I quickly brought my gaze back up. He didn't seem to have caught me looking at him.

"Phew!" I thought to myself "That would've been hard to explain"

"Here we are, Calculus, room 101" The lion told me.

I sighed; math wasn't really ever my strong suit. I wasn't horrible, but it wasn't my best subject.

I studied my schedule again, looking for the name of the teacher.

"Mrs. Jones" I read in my head as Silas opened the door and we walked inside.

Mrs. Jones was a wolf, probably in her late 20's early thirties. She had thick black fur and long black headfur to match it. She was looking at a paper, and was too occupied with looking at it to hear us come in.

"Hey there Mrs. Jones" Silas called to her, snapping her out of her daze.

"Oh, hello Mr. Scott" She said looking to him "Oh, and who is this you have with you?" She asked looking over to me

I flashed a shy smile and responded "I'm Jake, Jake Sawyer"

"Nice to meet you Mr., Sawyer" she said smiling "I take it you just moved here?"

"Yeah, from the wonderful, tiny, state of Vermont!" I said with noticeable sarcasm

I'd lived in Montpelier, Vermont since I had been born. I'd always wanted to go some place bigger. I never understood why people would flock there during the fall to see the leaves change, it wasn't anything special, not to me. Another reason for my distaste for Vermont was winter. I absolutely 100% despise long cold, snowy winters, and in Montpelier, winter was all of those things. I could deal with winter for a few days, a week maximum, and then it just got boring and became a nuisance. The only thing I really liked, and missed about Montpelier were my old friends. But, I could still keep in touch with them, so that made it easier to leave them.

"Well welcome to your first class at Hudson High, I hope you enjoy your time here" she said.

I looked up at the clock and saw that class would be starting soon and looked over to Silas, who had already moved to a table and motion for me to come and sit next to him.

After a few minutes the bell rang and furs started pouring in. The class went by uneventfully, and soon the bell rang. It made a rather loud beeping noise that made me almost jump out of my seat. As we walked out the door, I heard someone screaming Silas' name.

I turned to see a rabbit girl speedily making her way towards him.

"Oh no" was all Silas could get out before he was tackle hugged by her

"Hey Emma" he said chuckling "Long time no see"

"You can say that again" She turned her attention to me. "Hi there, I'm Emma" she said cheerily "And you are?" she asked

"Jake, Jake Sawyer" I responded.

"Nice to meet you Jake" she said before turning her attention to Silas again.

"Now, explain to me why we never hung out this summer?" she said flatly

"Because I was incredibly busy" countered Silas sarcastically

"Fine, be that way. But we have to catch up soon. Okay?" she said, breaking from the sarcasm

"Alright" He said cracking a smile

"Well, I have to get to my next class. See you guys later" she said as she started to walk off towards her next class.

"That was interesting" I said giggling.

"Emma usually is" Silas said to me giving me a look that I couldn't tell was serious or not.

We made our way to our next class, which was as uneventful as the first. In my 3rd period class however, AP Spanish, the teacher Mrs. Davis called me to the front of the class to introduce myself. I hated going up in front of people I didn't know and talking to them due to my shyness. And to make matters worse, on the way back, I tripped over my feet and fell to the ground, resulting in laughter from everyone, everyone but Mrs. Davis and Silas, who helped me up from the ground.

"Are you ok?" he asked me with genuine interest.

"Yeah..." I said slowly "I'm a klutz, I fall a lot. I'm surprised this is only first time today"

"Alright" he said "Be more careful though, I don't want you to get hurt."

~~Silas~~

"Silas!" a familiar voice yelled

"Oh god" I thought, as I turned to see Emma, my best friend since kindergarten, come flying at me with one giant tackle-hug.

I chuckled, Emma was always overly energetic. I looked over at Jake, who looked like he was wondering why a random girl just tackled me.

"Hey, Emma" I said starting to laugh "Long time no see"

"You can say that again" she said to me.

Then she noticed Jake and turned her attention to him. "Hey there, I'm Emma" she said to him smiling "And you are?"

"Jake, Jake Sawyer" He responded. He was starting to get more comfortable here.

"Good" I thought to myself.

Emma turned her gaze back to me "Explain to me why we did not hang out this summer?" she asked me in a flat tone

"Because I was busy" I told her

"Fine, you be that way, we'll talk about this later, but right now I have to go." She said

"Nice to meet you Jake" she said to the fox while she turned

"Yeah, you too" he said to her, but she'd already taken off.

"That was interesting" Jake said chuckling

"Yeah, Emma usually is" I said starting to laugh myself.

After that, we went off to second period, which proved uneventful, even for the first day. Next was AP Spanish. Unlike our past teachers, Mrs. Davis made Jake stand up. The fox stood up and awkwardly introduced himself to the class; a blush was visible under his golden fur.

"He looks kinda cute when he blushes" I thought to myself

Yes, I was gay, it wasn't a secret. Not many schools are as excepting as mine, the same with families. Everyone who knew me knew I was gay, and most of them supported me. Of course, not everyone is so open minded, but I could take care of myself.

Jake made his way back to his seat, but as he was walking, his feet got caught up with each other and he fell to the ground.

I was up and by his side in a second, helping him up. I could tell he was even more embarrassed now, as he hid most of his face and looked down at the ground.

"You okay?" I asked him, I hoped he was hurt"

"Y-yeah, I'm fine" he responded slowly "I'm a klutz, I fall a lot. I'm surprised this is only my first time today..."

"Be careful, I don't want you to get hurt"

I really didn't either. In the short time I'd known the fox, I'd fallen for him. It wasn't love, I hardly knew the fox, but I liked him, a lot.

Jake was silent for the rest of the class, and he quickly made his way out when it was over.

The next period we had was a free period. I showed him around the school, starting at the library and ending at the cafeteria.

Our next period was lunch, so we decided that we'd just get our food early. I got a slice of pizza with some mixed fruit and a container of chocolate milk, and he got a salad with a banana and chocolate milk. We picked a table and sat down. I decided to take this time to learn more about the fox in front of me.

"Where are you from again?" I asked opening my milk

"Montpelier, Vermont" He answered unpeeling his banana. "A super small town in a super tiny state."

"Oh" I took a sip of my milk "What made you guys move all the way on the other side of the country?" I asked

"My dad was offered a job here as a reporter for the local paper, and he took it. So here we are" He said taking the first bite of his banana. "I was never one for small towns; they're just too disconnected for my taste. Plus, Vermont has very snowy, cold winters, and I'm not a fan of either of those things. The hardest thing was leaving all of my friends" he finished.

"Well I'm sure you'll make plenty of friends here, and at least you can still keep connected with your friends there."

"Yeah, that's true" Said the fox finishing his banana

"Anyway, what do you like to do?" I asked before taking a bite of pizza.

"Well" the fox started "I love music, it's my passion. I sing, play guitar and piano. I'm more of a gamer than a sports, I've never really gotten into the whole school sports thing, even though both of my brothers were. I guess it's just not my thing. You?" he asked

"I love to draw, music, and gaming; I play soccer and baseball..." I contemplated telling him some of the other things I liked, but I feared pushing him away, so I decided against it. "And I love to write" I finished.

"That's cool, he said with genuine interest. You wanna come over to my house some time and play games?" He asked me

"Sure!" I said excitedly "I'm good for whenever"

"After school today then?"

"Does that fall under 'whenever'" I asked sarcastically

"It would seem it does" he said chuckling. "You can just follow me there I guess"

"Okay" I said.

The bell rang signaling the end of our free period and beginning our lunch. People began to pour into the cafeteria, including a few of my friends.

"Hey Silas" Jack and Tom, two twin leopards said in unison.

"Hey you guys" I said to them "This is Jake" I said introducing the fox, who had a mouthful of salad at the moment. He gave a shy wave and a smile, and swallowed his food.

Emma was the next to come in, taking a seat down between Tom and me.

"Hey guys" she said setting her tray down.

The rest of the day sped by, and soon the last bell rang, signaling the end of the day. Jake and I made our way out into the parking lot.

"Oh, I forgot!" he said quickly realizing something "I never got your phone number"

We exchanged phone numbers and got into our cars. He took the lead, and drove out of the parking lot. As I followed him, I started to realize how familiar this route was to me. As he slowly pulled onto Rose street, the street where I lived, I realized that I was neighbors with my crush.

As with before, rating and commenting would be very much appreciated. I'm pretty sure I failed at the dual perspective thing.....Bah. Anyhow, rate....and comment! :P
