The pool house, much to my surprise, was open as Eddie, Sam, Janny, and I all came up to the doors. Sam and Eddie both had changed into a swim suit, and Janny was now dressed in black sweat pants, and a gray sweater with "Green Pine University" on the front. I jokingly asked her how much the student store had sold her the sweater for, and she slapped my arm, scowling at me.

"It was like almost thirty bucks," she admitted quietly then.

I only chuckled at her as I put my arm around her shoulders, stepping into the pool house. There were other furs in there, two foxes who sat on a row of indoor size bleachers, studying. Three wolves were sitting at the far end of the pool, their voices lightly echoing off of the walls inside the pool house.

As Eddie and Sam picked out a spot to drop Sam's small purse, Janny and I walked up the bleacher, and I sat down with a grunt. Janny sat down behind me, and pulled at the neckline of her sweater. It wasn't as cold inside the pool house as it was outside, and as Eddie was pulling off his shirt I wiggled an arm out of my own coat. I dropped it to my side, then Janny's fingers were reaching out to run through my hair.

I leaned my head back to rest them on her knees, and Janny kept playing with my hair. I watched Eddie pick up his arms to stretch them, admiring the way his ribs seem to ripple down his body. Sam was pull dropping her pants to the floor, dressed in an olive green color bathing suit bottom, with the top to match. She pushed her hair over her ear then, and reached out to rub one of Eddie's shoulders.

Sam and Eddie walked for the edge of the pool, and I let myself yawn then. As I was clicking my teeth together I moved my head, looking up at Janny. She was looking around, but as she looked at me she pulled a face, like she didn't want my head in her lap.

"Ouch," I smirked at her, "that one really hurt."

Letting herself laugh Janny leaned down to plant a kiss on my forehead, then sat back up, leaning back some on the plastic seats.

"What's up?" Janny asked me.

"I meant to ask you, where'd you go to school?" I asked her, "I realized like last night you and I haven't had a legit conversation yet."

"Oh, dam your right," Janny said, "I went to Echoville High, up in north L.A. You?"

"Red Hill High," I raised a fist in the air then, "Go wolves. Eddie and I went out the same day we graduated, to celebrate being able to have a summer to ourselves before we came out here to college."

"I almost took the winter off this year I'll admit," Janny was twisting her finger in a curling motion in my hair, "I thought I could do the phycology thing back home, but then I read up on this place and they have one of the best programs in the state."

"Really? I only went here because my dad did."

"Did he really? Was he your age?" Janny asked.

"Nah, he was younger than I was," I shook my head, "I think he just turned twenty-two when he started college. I only wanted the last four years to go because... well, you know. Vampire stuff really. I had to get my mind mentally ready to be around so many furs in one place."

"Mm, I get that," Janny was nodding, "I studied art the first few years after my change. I thought I wanted to do that, but then when my friends back home said I was the designated "shoulder to lean on" on the friend group, I thought I'd give the psych world a try. Guess that was the right choice to make."

"You do seem to have a down to earth vibe about yourself," I was nodding in agreement, "I used to think I wanted to be a writer, like my dad is? I went on one to many trips to museums in high school so now I know I want to study history and all that stuff."

"That's a really good field to be in honestly," Janny was looking down at me, "historians can make good money and they always seem passionate about what historic field they go into. What were you thinking? Romans? Egyptians?"

"Uh, shit I wasn't really sure yet," I shook my head on Janny's knees.

I picked my head up then as a muffled squeal echoed in the pool, and saw Eddie picking Sam up from the water to drop her back down. Eddie was laughing, hair matted to his head from the water as the splash from Sam's form hitting the water sprayed him.

"Maybe a bit of everything," I said as I looked back at Janny, "I'd honestly to hard to stick with just one historic group when there's so many to pick from you know."

"Yeah," Janny was nodding, "Nicholas the Historian, best of his field," Janny was smiling at me.

I laughed then and Janny laughed with me, her brown hair falling down past her face. I had a paw on her calf, feeling the muscle underneath. As Janny was looking at me she smiled at me, the white fur on her face complementing her smile. She leaned down to me then, and put her lips against mine. I swallowed, the show of affection catching me off guard. I kissed Janny back as her paw traced the top of my head, her fingers gently running through my hair.

We kissed a moment longer, and we broke away. Janny licked her lips, looking at me with her brown eyes that almost matched her fur.

"So," I cleared my throat gently, "when should we go get dinner tonight, since we have class at nine?"

"Fuck!" Janny whispered, her face taking on a look of slight worry, "I didn't think about that. What building is it in?"

"Ah," I closed one eye, "the one that's in between the girls dorm and library I think."

"So we go out at eight o' clock?" Janny suggested, "I don't think I'll need an hour, but this'll be the first time I've ever done this with someone else."

"Eight works for me. We'll just have to be mindful of the time so we don't end up missing class the first night."

"We got this," Janny smiled at me, fingers still brushing through my hair.

I let myself smile back at Janny, and my brain danced happily in my head, content with Janny's fingers brushing through my hair. As I let my head rest on Janny's knees she moved her own head to look away, and I watched her nose twitch, sniffing the air. I inhaled as I sat up, feeling like I had to suddenly know what Janny was smelling.

I looked around. Eddie and Sam were sitting up on the pool side now, Sam laying her head on Eddie's lap. They were talking about what they wanted to do in the future, like Janny and I just had. Now I looked right, not turning my head all the way because that was something I did to much already. "Hey, look but don't make it obvious." Oh make it completely obvious immediately? Can do.

The two foxes, who I had not heard move from the bottom of the bleachers to the middle now, were still studying. At least that's what it looked like they were doing. I sniffled the air now, and the smell of pre-cum danced through my nostrils, making my nose twitch. I glanced at Janny, and she let out a soft breath, fingers pushing into my hair more aggressively for a few seconds. I looked back at the foxes, and saw one of them sitting on their side. The other fox was sitting with his back on the bleachers, and I could see the first fox was playing with the other one. His cock was out, hidden from view by the second fox, but my angle let me see what they were doing. I glanced at the three wolves who were on the other side of the pool, but they were moving around now, looking like they were about to pack up whatever they'd brought with them and leave.

I grunted then as I sat up some, propping myself up on my elbows. Janny's paw gripped my hair then, and I stopped moving to look back at her. Her cheeks were flush, the white turned into a soft pink color. I moved my paw on her calf then, and Janny started, grabbing my hair and making me wince.

"You good?" I asked her with a low voice.

Janny only nodded, not looking away from the foxes. I looked back at the foxes along with her, watching the one fox stroke the other one, slowly. The fox who was being masturbated on the bleachers had their head leaned down, talking to the other fox who did the cock-stroking. I licked my lips then, my paw still rubbing Janny's thigh. I could smell the pre-cum that was coming from the fox's cock. I could almost see the little beads that I was sure were rubbing out and onto the other fox's paw.

As I kept looking I watched the fox who was stroking let go of the other fox, who bit his bottom lip in what looked like a face of protest. The other fox only sat up some, planting a kiss on the others forehead. The pair began to collect themselves then, the first fox putting his hard cock back into his pants as his partner was standing up. I watched with interest as the fox standing up, he had a white strip running the length of his tail up to his waist, lifted an arm up to stretch, opening his mouth to yawn.

Janny was watching the pair as they began to move down the bleachers, one fox hoisting a messenger bag onto his shoulder. They walked down the bleachers, getting about halfway down them as the trio of wolves were hitting the pool house doors and heading outside. The fox with the stripe down his tail was taking his partners paw, the other fox smiling at him. As they were starting to walk past Janny and I one asked the other,

"Hungry?"

I looked up and away from the pair as the second fox was replying,

"Yeah I could eat."

Across the pool from Janny and I, Eddie had Sam's head in his lap. The bat was reaching up and poking at Eddie's face, seeming to examine his teeth. Eddie playfully took a bite at Sam and missed on purpose, making Sam draw back her paw with a squeal.

"Hey," Janny's voice whispered to me.

"Yes beautiful," I answered with an absent mind.

"Uh!" Janny balked at me.

_What?! _my brain questioned my response.

"I was on autopilot!" I picked my head up some, looking at Janny, "You are beautiful though."

Janny starred at me now, her cheeks reddening. I only smiled at her shyly, and pushed my head back against her knees. I pushed my head more, and as Janny split her legs apart I put my paws on her thighs. I pushed them against my face then, hiding it from Janny's view.

"Ok now just crush my stupid face," I put a thumbs up into the air.

Janny only laughed at me, a giggle really, and opened her legs again. She looked down at me, pushing her braided brown hair away from her face. She put her paws in my view and wiggled her fingers, beckoning me to maybe put my head back on her knees.

I obliged, and as I lifted my head Janny rested my head back on her knees. She leaned her head back down to me, kissing my forehead. I closed my eyes as she did so, and Janny rested her forehead on mine. I took a breath, smelling her scent as she kept her face close to mine. I kept my eyes closed as I heard Sam sneeze, the sound echoing off the pool house walls. Janny took a breath then, and I took a let out a breath of my own. A content feeling was growing inside of me, like Janny was the missing piece of a puzzle I didn't even realize I was working on.

"You believe in soul mates, Nick?" she asked me suddenly.

I didn't open my eyes, but made an,

"Mmm," noise from the back of my throat.

_She loves you _my brain told me.

_So what if she does? _I answered my own thoughts.

"I think so," I nodded my forehead against Janny's, "do you?"

"I do," Janny said, "the right one at the right time kind of shit."

Her voice was so soft, so kind. Like I could have worn it as a blanket when I was doubting myself in the worst of times. I moved my forehead against Janny's then, and moved my face. I felt her face with my nose, making her laugh. I found her nose with my own, and rubbed it against hers. A butterfly kiss I think you call it. I'm no romantic expert but I like to think I can keep a girl. You definitely have to keep Janny _my mind told me _really you don't have any choice, blood-bond and what not.

Janny settled her nose against mine as we both stayed still a moment. I could feel her lips touching my nose, their soft texture feeling so comforting, so appealing to me. I got excited just feeling them on my fur, and from feeling Janny's warm breath on my face.

I opened my mouth then, ready to kiss Janny, but stopped myself when I heard Eddie's wolf-whistle from across the pool. Janny snickered as I picked my head up, shooting Eddie a glare. He only laughed at me, then fake grabbed his chest, and fell slowly back, as if my look had shot him dead where he sat.

With a groan I leaned my head back on Janny's knees and she leaned down, covering my face with her arms.

"I got you, don't let that mean old wolf bully my man!" Janny declared.

"Hell yeah, tell his ass!" I was laughing.

Janny beamed at me, leaning down to plant a few successive kisses on my face. I wiggled my face on her knees as she pecked me with her lips, the collie giggling at me.

"Excuse me, love birds?" Sam's voice called out.

Now Janny picked her face up, sticking her tongue out at Sam.

"Yes dorm mate?" Janny called back.

"You ready to call it a day? I need a nap!" Sam held up her arms.

Eddie was nodding in agreement, and as he took Sam's arms he pulled her up, the bat squealing. As Sam stood all the way up her ears flicked as Eddie was reaching up to pinch her ass. The bat squeaked, jumping away and swiping a paw at Eddie.

"You ready to hit the bricks?" I asked Janny.

"Ugh, yes," she nodded to me, "I honestly might take a nap too before we have class."

"Cool," I grunted as I started to sit up.

As I was picking myself up from the bleachers, Janny stood up with a heavy sigh. I turned to look at her, then stepped down from the bleachers to the pool house floor. I held out a paw to Janny, who took mine and bowed her way down the three steps next to me.

"Oh bravo, well done madam," I let her paw go to clap.

Janny fake curtsied to me, her face breaking into a smile. I reached down to pick up my coat, and pulled it on with a groan. I reached up to stretch out one of my arms, and Janny put a paw on my back, rubbing gently.

"Your a side sleeper, aren't you?" she asked me.

"Um yeah," I widened my eyes at her, "can you..." I paused let my voice take a fake serious tone, "can you read my mind?"

Janny snickered at me then, and said,

"Probably better than you can read mine. No in all seriousness try sleeping on your back more. I know its hard when your asleep, but try falling asleep on your back and it might help you not be so stiff in the mornings."

I was nodding then, and as I was lowering my arm to put it around Janny's waist I pulled her closer to me. She stepped up to me, a breathy gasp escaping her lips. I pulled her closer, her face almost touching mine before she rested her paws on my chest.

"Maybe one day I can show you how stiff I am in the morning," I whispered to her.

"Heehhee," was what came out of Janny's mouth, her paws tightening around my coat.

"Maybe you should," Janny said to me in a soft tone.

My face got hot then, and I only hugged Janny to me. The collie pressed her face into my neck, nuzzling my fur. She kissed me on my neck once, and my heart skipped a fast beat. Fuck what I wouldn't have given to take her right then and there, even if Eddie and Sam were walking over to us. My blood was hot and I licked my lips, swallowing saliva. Janny drove me nuts in the best possible way.

As Eddie, Sam, Janny, and I all exited the pool house, we took the short but cold walk back towards the dorms. Sam bundled herself up in her jacket, pressed close to Eddie who didn't take her arm from around the bat the entire walk back. Janny rested her head on my shoulder as the two of us walked, her fingers rubbing the back of my paw.

When the four of us were splitting up at the dorms, Janny lingered after Sam and Eddie said goodbye a moment. She took my paws in her own, looking at me with her brown eyes. I looked back at her, and she only shook her head before leaning out to kiss me. I kissed her back, it was a brief exchange, then Janny looked back at me to ask,

"Will you be cool with going with me tonight?"

"Yes," my answer was immediate, "why wouldn't I?"

"Just nerves," Janny admitted with a small smile, "I don't want our two separate styles to clash I guess is what I'm worried about."

"Mmm," I nodded to her, still holding her paws, "we can treat this like a learning experience really. I watch you, you watch me. If the other sees something they don't like, we talk about it. Figure out how we can compromise and fix it for future night time ventures."

"Future huh?" Janny picked up a foot to rub her calf, smiling, "you might want to do this again? We haven't even gotten to the first one."

"I think," I licked my lips, "that we can take this slow. We have all winter school year to learn from each other, and I've already made plans to come back here in the fall. Maybe summer too. But that's summer, ya know? Not vampire friendly."

"Right!" Janny was laughing lightly, "Shit Nick, I love how your brain works."

"My brain works?" my face took a surprised look, "never heard that before."

Janny laughed at me then, putting her face forehead on my neck. I rested my face on the top of her head, taking in a breath of her scent again. She smelled like honey still, and I was starting to really admire it.

"Your wonderful, Nick," Janny said to me, "I know I've probably said that to guys in the past, but something about you sticks out for me. In a good way."

I only let myself sigh a happy sigh. My heart was starting to spready its wings again, even if they still had feathers missing from past relationships. Eddie calls me a hopeless romantic, but maybe Janny was going to change that. Maybe my days of waiting to find the one were over, because Janny was the one.

As Janny moved her head then and looked back at me, I leaned in and kissed her. I let go of one of her paws to rest mine on her face. I caressed her cheek as we kissed, then we broke apart. Janny blinked at me, resting her own paw on mine, letting my rub her cheek still.

"I'll catch you later, ok?" I smiled at her.

"Okay," Janny's voice was soft and pleasant.

We let each other go then, and I stood still and watched Janny turn to walk back to her dorm. She clutched her sweater around her, her tail swishing behind her legs as she walked back to the girls dorm. I let myself sigh then, and pushed my paws into my coat pockets. A wave of emotion came over me, but I swallowed then and tried to ignore it. I had thought that for a second I was going to tell Janny I loved her, but could I really draw that conlusion from knowing her for all of... three, four days? It was to soon to call it love, though in that moment, that was all I really wanted for Janny and I. I wanted love.
