Rule Number One

Coevolution Ch.1

Umbre was going to have to remember to get a west-facing room next year. Either that or invest in blackout curtains that actually did their job. There he was, up at the crack of dawn whether he wanted to be or not. Umbre huffed and pushed off the covers more violently than intended, sending the blanket tumbling off the bed. Resigned, he decided to leave it there for now and leave his room, in all likelihood dooming the blanket to remain forgotten for the rest of the day.

At the very least, the promise of pechaberry tea could lighten the mood. While it was true that in typical, uncultured Unovan fashion, Umbre would have to settle for microwaved tea--curse the university and its no-home-appliances policy--it would have to do. As the microwave gradually heated its contents, Umbre poured himself a bowl of PoffinPuffs doused in milk. Rainbow cereal and morally gray tea in paw, he sat down in one of the two chairs within the common area.

For the first time, Umbre registered the other presence in the room: his significant other and roommate, Levi, in nothing but his typical late-night boxers, sprawled across the couch opposite him. The Leafeon's laptop lay open on the coffee table in front of them, asleep as Levi themself. Deep golden leaves matching those of Levi's favorite October accessories were scattered across the table, couch, and floor, some of them shredded by the stress of a late night cut short by the body's insistence on self-preservation.

Umbre sighed. Poor Levi. Never knowing when to finish with their work for the night. In the year they had known each other now, Umbre had woken up to this scene too many times. In the last week it had been consistent--five long nights and five long days of an overworked partner. Umbre set his breakfast down on the coffee table and tiptoed around the leaves, hoping to give a gentle awakening. He lay a paw on Levi's head, appreciating the rough texture of their cream-colored fur.

Levi stirred and blinked their eyes open. They searched their surroundings before settling on Umbre in front of them. «Hey, gorgeous,» Umbre signed, idly stroking Levi's head fur.

«What time is it?» Levi signed back--barely coherently. They curled up and pulled toward Umbre.

A quick glance at the clock told Umbre it was better to not reveal the details. «Past your bedtime, that's for sure. You been out here all night?»

«Yes...» Levi admitted. «Gotta finish this coding project... due Monday.»

Umbre shook his head. «Today you need to relax. This has gone on long enough. You're not gonna get it done if you keep going like this.»

«But...» Levi sighed. «You have a point. I can really only afford an hour or two off though...»

«What can I do?»

Levi fixed Umbre with a meaningful stare. «Help me relax? Just an hour.»

Inwardly, Umbre chuckled. Regardless of how many times they did it, he could never get over how cute Levi got when they would ask Umbre for his "help" relaxing. It was like a code between them--Levi was asking Umbre to hypnotize them, but was too self-conscious to say it directly.

Umbre pushed a leaf behind Levi's ear and smiled. «Of course.» Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and gathered his concentration. Luckily, the moon had chosen to stay in the sky a little late that morning, perfect for Umbre's purposes. He focused his mind on the moon, pulling its energy for himself, opened his eyes, and fixed Levi with an unblinking stare.

While he had never experienced it from the subject's point of view, Levi had always described Umbre's hypnosis as one of the most beautiful things they'd ever seen. The blue ring on his forehead emitted a glow that lit up Levi's face, turning their fur a pale shade of off-white. Being well-practiced at the process, Levi's chocolatey-brown eyes zeroed in on the source of the light as their jaw went slack.

«Relax, Levi. It's okay.» Due to needing to keep Levi's eyes on Umbre's face for the hypnosis to work, Umbre had to use telepathy to transmit signs to his partner. «Just relax for me, okay?» Absently, Levi nodded. They were so used to falling into trance that they barely needed any coaxing to fall into complete suggestibility.

«Give me a countdown, Levi. Five to zero. I want you to let your will slip away a little bit with each number, just like we've done before. Can you do that for me?» Another drunken nod. «Good. Very good. Start counting now.»

Levi raised a paw. «Five.» Only one number down and already a bit of drool escaped from their mouth. Umbre almost felt like they fell deeper every time.

«Four.» Umbre reached out with his own paw to provide a reassuring pet on the head for his partner. Previous sessions had shown Levi was particularly susceptible to head scritches.

«Three...» Levi's pace was slowing down dramatically now, as the glow from Umbre's head started to pulse with bursts of bright blue. Each pulse sent a ring of blue coloring out from Levi's pupils.

«Two...» The pulsing sped up the more Levi slowed down. Umbre could see Levi's mind clearing, their thoughts easily being pushed aside by the moonlight.

«One...» Umbre smiled. Closing his eyes once more, he pushed forward with a large rush of mental force.

Levi didn't even reach zero. Umbre simply signed, «Obey,» a trigger he had instilled during their first ever session. One final pulse bright enough to shine through Umbre's eyelids flashed through the room. Umbre opened his eyes to see Levi in the same position, staring blankly ahead, blinking profusely. Levi's eyes now featured rings of blue around the edges, signifying Umbre's control.

«Welcome back, my pet,» Umbre signed, providing for them the head scritches Levi so dearly loved. «How are you feeling?»

Levi signed as naturally as if they were awake. «Obedient as ever, Sir.» They faltered. «Still a little stressed, to be honest.»

Umbre stood, motioning for Levi to sit up so he could sit next to them. Levi complied instantly, allowing for Umbre to place himself next to his partner and pull them in close. «What are you stressed about?» Umbre rested a paw on Levi's lap, right between the legs.

Levi shuddered at Umbre's touch. «Just some schoolwork, Sir, nothing important right now.» They looked down at Umbre's paw. «Do you--»

«Rise.» Umbre cut them off with another trigger word, this one sending Levi into a sudden gasp of pleasure. The Umbreon grinned at the feeling of the bulge forming underneath his pet's boxers. «Let's forget about schoolwork for now, okay pet?»

Blushing mad, Levi nodded fiercely. «Yes Sir,» they signed so quickly it almost looked like one word. Umbre watched as Levi's project and all the thoughts and ideas surrounding it left Levi's mind.

Reaching out with his free paw, Umbre scratched under Levi's chin. «Tell me again, what are you stressed about?» With his other paw, he pressed down on Levi's crotch, feeling for his pet's cock within. He clutched it and gave it a light squeeze.

More gasping. «Nothing Sir.» It was true too--they had been instructed to forget, and so they had. Umbre knew the memories would come back once the session was done, but for now, they needed no interruptions.

«Remember rule one, pet,» Umbre teased. No cumming without permission, that was the one. Levi was programmed to have their pleasure sensors react tenfold on all fronts, so there was no doubt the Leafeon was close already. «You wouldn't break our number one rule, now would you?»

«No Sir!» Levi insisted. «I'll be good, I promise.»

Umbre giggled. «You always are, my pet. You always are.» He kept teasing his partner, playing with the poor thing without even touching it directly, and Levi was loving it. If Umbre could hear, he would for sure be surrounded by helpless moans--which made him all the more eager to keep going.

«Sir... I can't hold it for much longer Sir...» Levi looked at him desperately. Umbre knew that without his control, Levi would have cum a lot sooner; rule number one had instilled the Leafeon with a near impossible amount of discipline.

«Alright pet. Another countdown. How about from three?» Levi pouted, but nodded all the same. What choice did they have, anyway? «Three...» Umbre signed, accompanied by a tight squeeze around his pet's cock. Levi lurched forward. «Two...» Another squeeze, another lurch. «Rule number one pet, be careful...»

«No... cumming... without... permission...» Levi's signs were laborious and slurred into each other. «Yes... Sir...»

«Good pet. One. Almost there, you can do it.» Umbre let the word hang in midair for longer than he should have, but he loved to watch his partner squirm in pleasure like this.

«Zero. Cum.»

Reflexively, Umbre pulled his paw away just in time for Levi's boxers to become instantly soaked with creamy white liquid. Levi collapsed backwards onto Umbre, breathing heavily. «Thank you Sir,» they signed weakly.

«Of course, my pet. Anytime.» Umbre provided Levi with more pets, which Levi happily nuzzled into.

«I love you Sir,» Levi signed giddily.

Umbre beamed. «I love you too, pet.»

«Crap, my tea is cold, isn't it?»
