Meeting (and Zonking) Your Idols

There are few things more disorientating than being at a convention without a group and without a plan. You're surrounded by throngs of strangers - like minded ones, for sure, but still strangers. A constant rolling tide of noise with the odd shout or laugh rising above it like a bit of ocean spray. Almost everyone is mingling in a group of friends, new or old. Some would liken being alone in a crowd like this to swimming in the sea while everyone else has a lifeboat. Kodi didn't mind too much, though. The wolfdog was happy to wander, dressed casually with his trademark blue neckerchief almost hiding his lanyard and badge.. Sooner or later he was going to run into someone worth zonking; or someone would run into him.

After all, at Fractionate, you were encouraged to mingle with people you'd never met. Or people you hadn't realised you'd met, since they'd put you into a trance earlier and made you forget your first encounter. It was a little more laissez-faire than other hypno-kink conventions, and it was easier to be yourself and really indulge that side of you. That; plus the fact that it was kept a lot 'cleaner' than other cons made it particularly popular.

The 'fractionate-and-forget' approach was one that Kodi was particularly good at. He had a few mesmerised subjects on the go, waiting for him to pounce on them for the "first time". It wasn't really a one-night stand, more of a series of weekend-long stands, and no one forgot a thing without their own consent.

Kodi checked his badge, making sure the side of the lanyard with all of the labels was facing forward. A little modular series of slats held cards with his name, his pronouns, as well as a series of easy-to-read symbols that showed off his status.

A spiral symbol denoted you were a hypnotist, a little smiley-wolf with spinning eyes put you down as a subject, and both made you a switch. The colour of the badge - a pale green - indicated that anyone was welcome to approach him.

Kodi only had the spiral symbol on his. No one needed to know about what happened to him earlier that day with the red panda in their room. A friendly wager had not gone his way. The wolf-dog blamed his lack of sleep for his inability to resist the panda's amber pendant and soothing voice. Besides, they'd sent him out with a boost of excited post-trance confidence, giving him some suggestions for things to try on his next subjects.

Kodi appreciated Leem's discretion.

He could see other con-goers looking at him, then his badge. Shy eyes, curious as to what his methods might be. He didn't want to give anything away. Let them come to him. Good doms like him were at a bit of a premium at this con. Who was he going to grace with his presence first...?

He spotted not one, but two idols of his just outside the dealer's den as it was closing down for the evening. A grey furred kitsune with pink highlights in his long, on his paws and on his tail, and a hyena dressed like a scene kid with piercings in his ears and a dark blue snout. Errol was massaging his drawing-wrist with his other hand idly, while Domino held on to his drink. They both looked exhausted.

Kodi considered leaving them be, but maybe he wouldn't get the chance to talk again. He mustered up the courage to approach. Just a quick cursory chat, that was all.

"Hey!" he approached, waving to the pair. They looked at him, a little exhausted, but managed smiles that seemed genuine enough.

"I wanted to stop by the Den, really sorry I missed it!" Kodi continued. "How did it go?"

"Great, thank you," Domino said, handing Errol's cup back to him. "We sold out all our slots pretty fast."

"Aw damn!" Kodi rubbed behind his head with a laugh. "Should have gotten in sooner. I'm a big fan!"

"Thank you," Errol said, peering at Kodi's badge. "...Kodi?" his face scrunched up for a moment as though he was trying to figure out a math problem.

Kodi's heart fluttered. Did... did they recognize him?

"Yeah! I uh... drew you gift art ages ago, it wasn't very good-"

"No, hard disagree! I loved it! Yeah! Hi!"

Errol seemed to light up and forget his tiredness for a moment. He looked to Domino, including him in the conversation. "This is the guy who did that portrait of me coiled in a fluffy black tail, you saw that one right?"

"Oh yeah," Domino said with a smile and a nod, leaning a bit to look. "Yeah, that looks like the same tail!"

"Good taste, good taste..." Kodi said, nodding along. He was nervous. Extremely so. But he knew just the thing to power through it.

He glanced at their lanyards. Errol and Domino's badges both had yellow cards in them.

He saw no reason not to try his luck.

"Could I interest either of you in a trance?" he asked.

"O-oh!" Errol laughed. "I mean... I'm a little tired."

"Sure, go for it!" Domino stepped forward towards Kodi, putting his now-empty drink into a nearby trash can. "I'm down."

Kodi nodded. Maybe he could convince Errol to take part. He just had to wow the pair of them.

"Just no hypno eyes, okay?" Domino added, "My eyes kinda hurt at the minute."

"Sure." Kodi said. "Absolutely."

That request narrowed his options down perfectly. He had it.

"Could I shake your hand?" Kodi asked.

"Sure," Domino said, already smiling with interest. He offered a paw, and Kodi took it with a gentle grip. He shook it.

"And sleep. Nope."

Kodi's little quip made Domino visibly relax and laugh a little. Kodi continued.

"It's not quite that easy to go into trance, obviously. What I want you to do is focus on the feeling of my paw in yours. The texture of my pawpads and my fur."

"Mhm." Domino nodded. "You've got a really soft paw."

"Thank you~" Kodi said. "I appreciate that. Zero in on what textures they remind you of. Pillows, or marshmallows, or whatever you like. Now that I mentioned marshmallows you're thinking of marshmallows, aren't you?"

Domino shrugged. Kodi was right.

"That's fine, that's how the brain works. Don't worry about it too much. Have you been hypnotised before?"

"Mhm."

"Great, so you know the drill. You know the basics, that you need to just focus on your breathing, and let your eyes relax and focus on me, on my eyes. Don't worry about my paw, you can feel it, you don't have to look at it. Can I rub your paw?"

"Sure..." Domino looked a little dizzy already. Their eyes had little brief flickers of gold.

Whoops, Kodi must have gotten on autopilot.

"Are my eyes swirling?" he asked, unruffled.

"I don't... think so," Domino replied.

Kodi tried not to let it perturb him, rubbing the hyena's hand with his thumb and brushing his beans against his subject's. He was tracing slow circles and pushing in gently, like he was kneading dough. He continued his gentle patter, speaking just loud enough to be heard around the background noise, but quiet enough that the hyena had to lean forward to listen. It was putting him off balance a little, bringing him in, and his eyes remained glued to Kodi's. More rings of gold began to flow through them, his pupils dilating and nictating.

Whoops. His hypno-eyes were going. He was too used to using them as a crutch.

Time to wrap things up before he got uncomfortable. He took one step back and bent his knees to brace himself, before yanking Domino by the arm.

Domino careened forward, his serene expression turning panicked for a moment. Like a judo expert, Kodi leaned to the side and caught him, letting the hyena's snout nestle against his neck.

He allowed his voice to get a little louder and sharper as he spoke one command.

"Sink."

Domino grunted as his full weight balanced against Kodi's body. Kodi embraced Domino and held on tight.

"I've got you. That's it. I'm right here. I've got you. Nice and relaxed. Sinking into my shoulder and drifting deeper, just letting yourself fall right into a wonderful relaxed trance."

"Nnh..." Domino murmured, his arms dangling against Kodi's torso. His breathing had slowed to a crawl, and he snuggled in like he was getting into bed.

A job well done.

"Just drifting along in this feeling of warm pleasure. An oasis of relaxation after your long day. I want you to think of something nice you can do for yourself tonight. Picture it in your mind, let it settle in..."

Kodi heard a tiny, contented groan from Domino. He had something in mind already, it seemed.

"And I'm just going to bring you back up, up up up, you'll be back on your feet and wide awake."

With a click of his tongue, Kodi guided Domino back upright. The hyena didn't stagger, but he shook his head and blew a sharp breath out through his nose.

"Hooh! Wow..." he said, laughing. "That felt... damn, how long was I out?"

"Oh, about thirty seconds," Kodi said. "I didn't want to keep you down too long, you know?"

"Ah..." Domino seemed impressed. "Well, maybe we can find some time for a longer session later?"

"Sounds good!"

"What do you think, Errol...?"

When Domino and Kodi looked, they saw Errol was staring with a distant, dazed expression. Rings of yellow and orange - Kodi's colours - were slowly wafting through his half-lidded eyes. The drinks he had been holding were down by his feet, and his lower legs were soaked.

"Oh, shit..." Domino rushed over and gave Errol a shake. "Dude!"

Errol murmured and slowly worked his way back to wakefulness, smacking his lips.

"What's up...?" he looked down at his trouser legs. "...Oh fuck not again..."

Kodi resisted the urge to panic and rush away. "I'm so, so sorry, I didn't realise I caught you in the crossfire...!"

"It's okay, really..." Errol sighed. "I'm a bit weak to hypnosis."

"Still, though," Kodi said. "Can I do something for you?"

"You can come back to our room with us," Domino said. There was something behind his expression. Intrigue. An eagerness to know him a bit better. He'd had a taste of Kodi's hypnotic tricks, and might have gotten the opportunity for more...

Kodi could indulge that.

-

At the hotel room. Errol barely had any time to get his trousers off before Kodi put his moves on him. There was no point in delaying.

A few rings of colour were enough to make him go stiff and dizzy once again. Domino had gotten over his eye strain, evidently, judging from how eager he was to stare into the wolfdog's eyes. He followed the wolfdog's gaze like a puppy, eager to forget the embarrassment of earlier.

"You needed this, huh?" Kodi asked, scratching under his chin.

"Ahuh..." Errol gurgled.

"Don't think you're off the hook, by the way," Kodi said to Domino, beckoning with a hypnotic glance. Before long, the two of them were well on their way to trancetown.

Kodi had one hand around each of their bodies, standing upright with them. He took time feeding them with the pretty colours, spending a few seconds with Errol before sliding his gaze to Domino, then back to Errol again. His paw worked behind their ears, keeping them staring. Domino gave little chittering scoffs of laughter, and Errol's tails were wiggling and waggling. From their happy smiles and their drooping eyes. Both of them really needed this break. There was a tension to their bodies that kept them from properly relaxing, but it melted away as they melted into his warm hypnotic gaze.

Kodi did his best to keep his cool; he was hypnotising his idols! Two of them, in fact! But that didn't matter. Their pleasure was paramount.

"You're falling deeper, sinking further, and giving yourself the rest you deserve. Remember, Domino, you're gonna treat yourself to something nice. And you too, Errol. Yes?"

"Hhye..." Errol managed. Domino just sort of grunted.

They seemed really tired. Kodi didn't want to keep them too much longer. He had just the thing for it. As they swayed together, he guided them so they were at the foot of one of the large beds, just to make sure that when they fell back it would be a soft landing.

"Good... I wanna ask, though, would it be okay if I took a selfie? Just to remember us by. The moment the photo is taken, you'll drop into a nice, dreamy sleep. Forgetting the embarrassment from earlier, forgetting this encounter... just for a little while, of course. You can remind yourself at any time, and approach me at any time during the rest of the con. But you both need your beauty sleep, don't you?"

"Ahuh..." Domino giggled.

"Okay, paws around my shoulders," Kodi said, fishing into his pocket for his phone. As he turned on the selfie cam, he guided the hyena and the kitsune to stare at it. Gosh, the two of them looked so cute, with those dreamy smiles and the rings of colour flowing through them. They nestled cheek to cheek with him as he lifted the camera up. He made sure it was in the right focus - he was only going to get the one shot.

"Smile, and say cheese..."

"Chee...se..."

The phone made a little chiming click. With little grunts and gasps, the hyena and kitsune shot bolt upright. Their eyes spun as they smiled and stared into space, toppling backwards and landing like two planks on the bed. Kodi stepped away and admired his handiwork. They were perfectly still, snouts pointed towards the ceiling, their feet hanging off the bed a little from the way they fell.

Kodi considered moving them in a bit before he slunk out, but then... maybe it was best to let them be.

He examined the photo. It wasn't the most flattering look for him; his smile looked a little dorky. But the two of them looked stunning with their wide eyes and happy grins...

One more photo he could add to his collection of memories from the con. As he slipped out of Errol and Domino's room, he scrolled through his roll.

...There were more photos of him with Errol and Domino, earlier in the con.

All three of them had eyes full of purple and gold rings, staring at each other with woozy, lopsided grins.

The angle suggested it was being held for a selfie... and in the corner of the photos, the cameraperson was winking at the viewer, a tongue poking out from their shit-eating grin.

It was that panda from earlier...

What else had he forgotten?

He couldn't wait to find out.
