Today's a special day for Trevor and Gale, an odd couple with really weird circumstances. Despite that, they kept on enjoying the small moments they had together and today's such a day.

A movie, a lunch date, and a stroll in the park. Just a regular little date for the dog and the dragon.

...did I forgot to mention the massive size difference between the two?

He opened his eyes, and all he could see was the expansive darkness all around him, littered with various specks of light that were dancing around him erratically.

He had become familiar with such sights for quite a while now. It was his home, his own cage. There were a few things he could do to escape, but he always returns here. The expanse was such a beauty when he first laid eyes upon it, but now it had become such a chore to just look into it.

He sighed. He was bored, there was nothing here to do. At first, he was excited but now he was just numb.

It was a good thing he has something planned for today, else it would be another day floating in this darkness.

He nodded to himself. With a bit more effort he snapped his fingers and felt his consciousness fade away. He smiled as his eyes became heavy, lulling him to a deep sleep as he felt his surroundings change.

He can't wait to be with him again.

**********

Trevor woke up like always, brimming with positivity and energy. He gently turned off his alarm clock then stretched his body, the golden retriever's bones cracking a bit.

A lot of his friends always ask him how he managed to keep waking up so full of energy, but it was simply a normal occurance for him. Actually, he wondered the opposite, why everyone woke up so groggy and tired.

Guess being a dog has its perks.

He chuckled to himself as he stood up from his bed, his 5'8 body stretched to get rid of the sleepiness. He wagged his tail as he walked around his bedroom, but not before looking at the calendar.

He smiled when he saw the date. It was the 27th today, a very special day for the dog.

He giggled. 'Right, I have to get ready!' he thought as he quickly did his morning rituals. He was brushing his teeth so quickly like his life depended. As he spit out some suds, he laughed at his own enthusiasm

Was it too much? Probably, but he can't help it. Today is just a special occasion. He went back to his bedroom. He quickly eyed the item by the far corner of his room, a 2-foot doll house designed like an ancient villa on an ornate table.

He slowly walked towards it, his body shaking from excitement made it harder for him to trek gently. Once in front of the dollhouse, he crouched down, the decorative door now on his eye level. He waited there patiently, as if he's waiting for something to come out of it.

Seconds passed, then minutes before he got worried. He didn't get the date wrong, that's for sure, so where is...?

"Looking for someone down there?"

His eyes widened as he looked up, suddenly focused on the small dragon on the dollhouse's second floor, a green dragon waving at him from the windows, and chuckled. The dragon was wearing doll clothes that fit for him, a sleeveless open vest that showcases his muscularity, and brown pants.

But what made his heart warm were the dragon's golden eyes, gazing at him with so much love. Trevor smiled as he wagged his tail, rose up a bit so that he could see the inch tall figure more clearly. The dragon is so small, yet had the biggest impact in Trevor's life.

He felt his tail wag as he greeted his lover. "Good morning, Gale."

The dragon simply smiled as he lovingly gazed at the face of the dog in front of him. "Good morning, little speck."

Trevor laughed at that nickname as he, with permission, gently grabbed the dragon and let him stand on his palm. He was small, more so when he was standing on his paw, only standing just an inch but his body is filled with hardened muscles, all strong and hard.

Gale gazed into those ocean blue eyes, immersed himself in how deep it is. Trevor can't handle it anymore. He hugged him close to his chest, the dragon reaching as much as he could of the dog's golden furred torso, but it was enough for the two.

It was simply enough.

Trevor pulled away from the hug and kissed the dragon gently, his lips touching the dragon's horns. Gale simply accepted it and chuckled. His little speck is always so loving.

"It's been a month, big guy. Where've you been?"

It was a silly question for the both of them, but Gale couldn't help but answer as the dog gently walked towards the kitchen. "Ah, you know. Here and there and everywhere."

The golden retriever turned a corner to his little kitchen. He could see his big guy looking around his house for something new. "Sorry to disappoint you but I haven't bought anything yet."

"You should, your house is so sparse of decoration." Gale said as he pointed at the blank part of his wall. The dog simply chuckled as they moved on. It's not like he wasn't trying, he thought. It's just that most of what he saw was too gaudy for his taste.

He put down his hand on the table and the dragon jumped out of it. The dog grabbed a coaster and placed it onto the table and Gale smiled as he saw the design, it was a coaster with an eastern dragon design, curling itself in the middle where a golden orb is.

Trevor donned his apron and grabbed a few things on his fridge, ingredients for their breakfast. "What do you want for breakfast, big guy? I assume you're starving right now?"

Gale chuckled as he saw his little speck move about the kitchen, his tail wagging so fervently that he can't help but wag his own scaly tail with him. "I'll just have the usual."

"Toast and bacon?"

The dragon nodded. "Extra toasty, if you will."

The dog laughed and placed a bagel on the toaster as he prepared the pan. The dragon, admittedly a bit bored, decided to walk around the table, picking up stray pieces of food and wiping the table with a cloth he found.

He was dragging along the cloth when he started asking the dog some questions.

"So, what happened to you while I was gone?"

"Hmm?" The dog looked at the busy dragon as he was cooking some scrambled eggs for himself. He smiled at his lover, polishing the table like the clean dragon that he is. "Oh yeah! I managed to get the job I wanted. The one I told you about."

Gale stopped and looked up to the dog, face beaming with pride for him. "Ah, congrats, Trevor! You were trying to get that job for quite a while."

Trevor chuckled as he placed the strips of bacon on the pan. He heard the dragon sigh and asked what's wrong.

"Oh, it's just...it's too bad I wasn't there to celebrate with you."

The dog smiled, briefly leaving his station as he touched the dragon, rubbing his fingertip on the scaly head. Gale simply hummed as he felt the large furry paw of his lover surround him.

Gale is always like that, the dog thought, worrying about missing his lover's milestones, but their situation is just a bit too strange. They both knew that, so the only way to go is to make up for it.

He continued to affectionately pat his lover, slow strokes on his head and hardened body, before letting a bit of excitement slip on his next words.

"Well now that you're here big guy, we can celebrate now! It's a good thing I have a day off today, because we'll be having a full day all to ourselves." Trevor said positively as kissed the dragon softly before going back to cooking.

The dragon eventually sighed at that. 'He's right.' he thought as he dragged the cloth into another part of the table. 'We could celebrate right now, as always.'

A few minutes passed and the dragon was halfway done in polishing a quarter of the table, when the dog finally put down some plates, a normal sized one for the dog and a small one for him.

He then served breakfast for today, large slices of bacon, slices of toast and scrambled eggs. The dragon literally ran towards the big plate but got blocked off by a metallic wall. Trevor chuckled as the dragon banged on the spoon. "Gale, wait for your turn. I gave you a plate for a reason."

The dog grabbed a small knife and sliced a piece of toast and bits of bacon for the pouting dragon. For the dog, it's merely a small part of his meal he is sharing, barely even a quarter.

For the dragon, it was quite a buffet for him. Toast crumbs that tower over him and slices of bacon that he could use to fully cover him up. The dragon is in breakfast heaven.

He immediately ran towards the little plate, heaved the toast up with all his might and took a large bite out of it, thankful for how nicely toasted it is. It was lightly buttered as well, his little speck truly knows him.

The dog simply chuckled as he ate his own breakfast, toast, bacon and scrambled eggs. The two ate while talking, mostly talking about Trevor's life and their plans for today.

"A celebration date, huh?"

"Yeah! It's to celebrate my new job. What do you say?"

An impromptu date seems like a hassle, but the two are used to such considering Gale's circumstances.

Gale smiled, gazing at his lover as he answered. "That sounds fine to me. Guess everything lined up for today, huh?"

He saw how bright the smile of his little speck was as he said that. He could feel his heart beat fast as the inch tall dragon stared at that bright smile, those happy eyes. It was amazing. "So, what does my little speck plan to do?"

Trevor immediately told him what they should do for today; a movie, a lunch at that new restaurant and probably a walk in the park. Gale is pretty sure the dog had planned for this for quite a while, but it's fine. He knew how much the dog was waiting for this moment, so he let him talk and talk, his voice so full of energy that it made the dragon feel oh so warm. Just seeing him so energetic and happy is such a delight.

Trevor keeps on trying to think of something else to do, especially at night, when the dragon chuckled.

"Anything sounds good as long as I'm with you, Trevor."

The dog blushed when he heard that and Gale had to laugh as his boyfriend tried to hide his embarrassment by reaching out to him once more, rubbing his paws on his scaly inch tall body.

He sighed. He missed this and he's pretty sure so did the dog with how touchy-feely he is.

Then again, he's always touchy-feely. Not that he minds...

The two finished their breakfast and the dog decided to freshen up a bit for today, but not before setting up a little bath station for Gale. The dragon, once again, looked at his lover as the dog set up a makeshift bathtub at the counter.

He set up a small bowl with warm water, a piece of mint soap and a strip of cloth from a towel beside the bowl. The dog even added some finishing touches, adding chopped-up rose petals on the bowl, making Gale chuckle.

"Now where did you even get this idea?"

"I've been doing it for my own bath for a while now. It's kinda relaxing, honestly."

After that, he admired his work and gently grabbed Gale from the table, the dragon enjoying how he is being handled, and placed him on the sink where the bathtub is.

"I'll be back, big guy!" He said as he left for the bathroom, but not before giving the dragon a big kiss.

Gale chuckled as he gazed at his little speck leaving. He climbed the makeshift stairs composed of matchboxes that Trevor made for him and immediately dived into his little pool, swimming about before relaxing on the side. The temperature is just right, Gale thought as he grabbed one of the petals and played it with his hands.

He dived a bit deeper, the warm water reminds him of the touches of his lover. He stayed there for a bit, enjoying the warmth of the water before surfacing. He eyed the soap and towel over at the side and smiled.

He can't wait for this date.

**********

Trevor is walking giddily, passing a few people, humming a tune to himself. It has been a month since and he was excited. He thought about the dragon who was peeking discreetly in his breast pocket of his blue polo shirt and simply chuckled.

Gale, besides hanging on for his dear life, is enjoying the sights. It has been a month since he had been in town and there were already new sights to see from his point of view. He adjusted his vest and pants once more as he held on to the edge, eyeing all the new things.

He could see a new building being constructed, a few trees planted on the walkways. He saw that one building he recognized as just an abandoned lot before, now a bustling store. He chuckled as he absorbed the sights, knowing it will take a while for him to see these again.

"Enjoying the sights, Gale?"

"Why yes, little speck~"

Trevor noticed the tone as he slowed down and looked into his pocket, where he saw the dragon gazing at him with those golden eyes of his and grinning. "I am enjoying the sights, alright."

The dog blushed when he heard that. He continued walking as he placed a finger on the pocket, feeling his small yet muscular lover with his finger tip. Gale simply chuckled as the finger on the pocket kept on touching his head. It was always so easy to fluster his lover.

After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at their first destination: the movie theater. It was the perfect timing, too. Not many people are around to see the movies. Trevor was surprised to see such sparse people, however. 'Wasn't there a famous superhero movie showing today?'

He felt Gale climb up his pocket to take a peek at the selections. He immediately covered him up with his hands as best as he could while he looked around to make sure no one noticed the dragon in his pocket. The dragon studied the large posters depicting various movies showing.

"Anything you want?" Trevor said as he noted 4 movies showing today, including the superhero movie he thought of earlier.

It took Gale a few minutes, admittedly not knowing a few for obvious reasons, till he pointed at the one depicting a fox and a ferret holding hands, looking at each other as an explosion happened in the background. The title "Passionate Battle" is seen in pink cursive.

"Huh." Trevor simply said. This doesn't seem to be something Gale would watch, then again the dragon is just full of surprises.

"Is my choice that surprising?"

"A bit? I was expecting you to pick that one." The dog said as he pointed on a poster featuring two horses, both of them holding a gun in each hand with a title "No Horsing Around: 4 Glory" in large letters

The dragon simply chuckled as he leaned a bit on the edge of the pocket. "I guess I'm craving for some romcom."

"How do you know it's a romcom, though?" Trevor said as he entered the building. Just like the outside, not many people are in here. The only notable ones he saw is a family of 5 buying popcorn.

"The title says it all. If it isn't, then sue me, I guess." Gale said as he went back to his comfy place inside the pocket. He eyed the corner of his little space and found large amounts of lint. His eyebrows twitched at the sight and decided to grab a handful of it to clean up, but once he did realized how soft it was. He managed to mold one to a block and had an idea.

"Pfft, fine." Trevor conceded, unaware of the dragon's idea.

He moved into the counter to order a single ticket. Technically, the two of them could simply occupy one seat so it's fine. Definitely a boon for his wallet.

Guess having a lover who can be a mere inch tall has its merits.

With a bit of convincing from the dragon, Trevor conceded and decided to buy some popcorn as well.

"We have a lot of flavors, good sir! Would you like plain salt, butter, chocolate or our new strawberry popcorn?" The guy at the counter said as he pointed to all the flavors, especially the full stock of strawberry popcorn.

The dog raised his brow on the mention of the last one, he didn't even know strawberry could be a popcorn flavor. He was about to order salt when he felt two pokes coming from his pocket. He immediately understood what it meant, so he ordered a large bucket of butter popcorn instead.

As he went on his way to the room, he dropped a kernel in his pocket and he could already feel the dragon munching on it like there was no tomorrow. An image of a pet hamster munching on a seed crossed his mind and he can't help but chuckle at the comparison.

"Hmm? Now what is my little speck chuckling about?" Gale said with a mouthful of popcorn.

The dog immediately shook off that thought, not keen on angering the dragon. "Nothing. Just...thinking about the movie, yeah."

Gale hummed at that but he let go of it immediately, instead he decided to tease his dog a bit, humming as he grinned. "I noticed how firm your chest is when I poke it. Is my little speck buffing up a bit?"

Trevor stammered as the dragon laughed, scratching his head a bit in embarrassment. "Uh, yeah. I thought it would be something to do, y'know..."

The dragon chuckled as he did a bit more poking on the dog's chest. The dragon could notice the slight firmness of the muscle and grin at the dog's progress. "You're doing well, Trevor. Keep it up and you may catch up to me." Gale said as he flexed his arm to the dog, and Trevor couldn't help but wag his tail on that compliment.

The dog finally entered the room and was thankful there were barely any people. He could spy the family in the forefront, but not much else. He walked towards the seat he bought way at the back so that the two could have some alone time.

Trevor sat down on the edge seat and immediately grabbed the dragon and placed him on a ledge beside him, the platform just level with his head. Gale looked around the place, dirty as always with so much tissues and spills that it made his blood boil.

"Can I have a few tissues? It's...kinda dirty here." The dragon said and his boyfriend chuckled before quickly supplying him some. He wiped the floor with all his might on a certain part of the ground, making sure it is at least cleaner than it was before.

Trevor saw what was happening and helped as well, picking up a few pieces of trash like tissues and other things too big for the inch tall dragon to carry, and placed them in a garbage can nearby.

"There is a garbage can nearby and...!?"

"Calm down, Gale. It's fine. It's my fault for choosing this spot."

"Little speck, it's not your fault." The dragon sighed as he looked around. There was still some trash but it was pretty far now in his vicinity. "Let's just relax and enjoy the movie, okay?"

So, that was what they did. Trevor offered more tissues for Gale to use as a floor mat, and the dragon agreed. He dragged the large sheets and placed them near the dog's head, now making himself comfortable.

Trevor smiled as he placed the popcorn bucket between them, enough for Gale to simply reach out and grab a kernel whenever. "Just tell me if you want some soda, okay?"

Gale nodded, yet Trevor could see a mischievous glint on the dragon's golden eye. He sighed as he added. "And also, don't jump on the bucket. You remembered what almost happened last time..."

Gale immediately flinched as he clearly remembered what happened and nodded. The dog sighed before affectionately petting the dragon as the movie started rolling.

Well, more like the trailers, but who has time for semantics?

**********

The movie is going quite well, really well in fact. They are already halfway through the movie, and they're simply enjoying the antics of the main couple and their friends, laughing at the jokes and crying at the rare emotional scene, especially Trevor.

Gale saw the dog trying to wipe his tears away with the tissues at one point of the movie and the dragon simply watched his emotional dog cry his heart out at the emotional climax.

He was content with this. It's been a while since the both of them had a good romcom, especially so for Gale.

The two had managed to finish their popcorn a while ago. The dragon is craving a bit more, but knew it would just hassle Trevor.

Besides, the prices of those things are a crime in itself...

He heard his little speck laugh at a joke and he can't help but look at him with so much love. The giant head of his lover whenever he laughs and smiles brings such sunshine to his heart. The golden fur smooth as silk. Those bright ocean blue eyes he could get lost in.

Trevor took a glance to the dragon beside him and reciprocated the gaze with a wink. Gale simply chuckled at that as they continued watching the movie.

The movie finished with a dance number featuring the cast. Surprising but it wasn't welcome. In fact, Gale tried doing a few steps of the dance while Trevor looked at him, softly clapping with the beat of the song.

The dragon swayed his hips and waved his arms, trying to copy the dance on the big screen and Trevor couldn't help but smile at his antics. Gale heard the dog chuckle and held out his tiny hand towards his little speck, wanting to have a dance.

Trevor smiled before giving him his right hand and Gale danced with it, thumb and pinky in his hands. The two shared a joyous moment as the two danced alongside the characters in the movie.

As the main leads kissed, so did Gale, kissing the back of the dog's hand. Trevor simply chuckled as he and the dragon bowed down.

They decided to stay for the credits, laughing and talking about the movie. It was a surprisingly fun watch, especially at the climax, where a fight happened between the two leads and their former friend.

"Now who would have thought the villain was their deer friend all along?"

"Right? I was really blindsided by that. He was so nice to the group, too."

Gale's smile strained a bit. He didn't have the heart to say he was being sarcastic so he simply nodded. Trevor was about to say something else when the lights were turned on. The two looked at each other and nodded. It was their cue to leave.

He quickly deposited Gale back into his pocket, not before wiping off the grease and butter from the dragon, and they exited the theater. In the end only a few people watched the movie with them and Trevor was thankful enough that they sat far away from them. "Seriously, that was really great."

"It really is, little speck." Gale said as he made himself comfy, grabbing a few more lint as he continued with his project. "Now where are we off to again?"

"Oh, right! You see, there's this new steakhouse that opened up around here..."

The two talked to each other for quite a while, although they had to stop once they reached a more populous part of the town. Gale was quiet in the pocket and Trevor wouldn't have realized he was there since he was so light.

He took a peek inside and saw the dragon making something out of pocket lint. A top hat?

The dragon stopped what he was doing to look up. He waved at his lover before continuing molding the lint like nothing happened.

'Well, at least he's busy.' He thought as he went back to walking. 'I should probably lend him my phone today...'

In a few minutes, Trevor stood in front of a old-western style building with a bull mascot cutout right beside the door. He entered the establishment and looked around in wonder.

'Wow, they're really going hard with this cowboy style, huh?' Trevor thought as he walked on the old-looking floorboards, confident it was more of a design rather than actual decay. The waiters are wearing old style clothes complete with a cowboy hat, the booths, table and chairs look like something from the wild west movies. It honestly looks like he was on a movie set.

He found a private looking booth over at the corner and immediately sat there. He looked around, careful to grab his big guy from the pocket, who is currently wearing his lint top hat.

Trevor took a glance at the dragon with a raised eyebrow, and the only thing he got in reply was Gale tipping his new hat to him as he spoke with the worst English accent he ever heard. "Greetings, m'little speck."

Trevor just stared at him for at least a minute before covering his mouth with his other hand, trying hard to suppress his chuckles from escaping. "Gale, what?"

The dragon chuckled along as the dog gently put him down on the table, he admired the cleanliness of the table as he walked around with his hat. "Seems I didn't get the memo..." he said as he acknowledged how his top hat clashes with the resto's general atmosphere. "Guess I'll have to reshape this hat, then."

Trevor simply shook his head as he watched his big guy sit down and began reconstructing his lint hat. He grabbed the menu from the side and decided to choose for the two of them.

Gale saw what he was doing and immediately ran towards his little speck, hat in hand, The dog saw this and plopped down the menu to make it easier for his big guy to choose. The dragon started walking around the menu, looking at the choices.

"Hmm..."

"Anything you like, Gale?"

The dog saw Gale eyeing a particle meal, hickory-smoked ribs. 'Not gonna lie, I do really like that...'

Though he noticed how instead of eyeing other meals, he instead eyes the price, which is quite an expensive meal. Trevor smiled, he could easily tell Gale wanted it but is too afraid to make him spend a lot on just a meal.

'Ever the thrifty guy...' he thought. Still, If Gale wants it...

"Waiter!" Trevor shouted which surprised Gale, the dragon immediately hiding behind a salt shaker as a deer waiter immediately beckoned. "Howdy, partner! What can I get you?"

Trevor hid his chuckles once more, as he made a show of looking at the menu for a few seconds before finally ordering. "I'll take hickory-smoked ribs with a side of fries."

The waiter wrote it in a note and Trevor could see from the side the astonished look of his big guy. He winked at him quickly before facing the waiter again. "Drinks?"

"Hmm...I'll take a lemonade."

"Alright partner, the order will be here in 20 minutes. Will that be okay?"

"Sure!"

Gale couldn't believe it, his little speck really did order the ribs. 'Isn't it a bit too pricey?'

After the waiter left, Gale finally got out of his hiding place and talked to the dog. "Is it really, okay? The price is..."

"Relax, Gale." Trevor said as he could see the dragon was feeling a bit guilty so he decided to rub his finger against the dragon's head, careful with the horns. "Besides, I'm always saving up for our dates, so of course I'll splurge today. It's for us, after all."

Gale had to admit, that made him feel a bit worse. Still, he gazed at his lover, seeing that smile, his eyes shining so beautifully.

He sighed, he couldn't help but give in. "Alright, little speck. If that's what you want."

"It's really what I want." Trevor said as he kissed the tiny dragon once more.

The wait for the steak was long, so Trevor decided to lend the dragon his phone a bit. He saw how the dragon had to run across the screen to access various functions, but at least he's getting occupied.

The dragon is in the middle of searching for pictures of a cowboy hat he could use as a reference when the lemonade comes in. Trevor managed to hide the dragon just in time with his hand as the tall glass of lemonade was served to him. Gale, ever curious, was given a chance to take a sip. Though since the straw was too big for him, they had let the dragon sip unconventionally.

"How is it?" Trevor asked as he carried the dragon with his paw by the glass, just enough for Gale to reach out and take a handful of lemonade. Trevor could hear him humming as he tasted the drink.

"A bit too sour for my taste, but it's fine."

Trevor chuckled as he put down the dragon and took a sip himself. He personally liked his lemonade a bit more sour than average, certainly more sour than what Gale likes.

A few more minutes later, Trevor saw Gale molding the clump of lint into a hat when he asked a question. "What do you think we should do later in the park?"

The dragon took a while to answer. He chuckled at how worried his little speck is as he adjusted the hat with his hands. "You're worrying about that a bit much, Trevor."

"Haah, I know, I guess I just want this date to be perfect."

"Every date is perfect with you, my little speck."

Trevor felt his face flush at that, making the dragon chuckle. The dog decided that he should retaliate and grabbed the dragon.

"Little speck, wha-" That's when the dragon felt large fingertips rubbed on his sides as Trevor started tickling him. The tiny dragon felt weak as he tried to clamp his mouth shut, otherwise everyone would hear him laugh. "H-hey, stop that! Trevor! I'm sorry, little speck! Hehe, stop!"

Before the situation escalated, the meal finally arrived. Trevor hid Gale inside his fist as the waiter served the delicious rack of ribs with mashed potatoes and vegetables, with a separate plate for the fries.

Trevor had to admit, he is really hungry right now, the popcorn from the movies aren't enough to satisfy his hunger. And he is pretty sure, the same goes for his lover, who he can feel moving inside his fist. 'Probably trying to calm himself down.'

The server gave him a few tissues and then left to serve other customers. That's when the dog released the dragon while apologizing for the sudden idea.

It's then he noticed the dragon, his big guy wearing a cowboy hat. He tipped the hat with his hand and did the worst impression of a cowboy the dog has ever heard. "'Tis alright, pardner. Life's always harsh on the wild west..."

The dog is on the verge of another laughing fit, to the point that he almost dropped the dragon from his hand. "Gale, please stop this."

Gale simply laughed at that as he felt himself being dropped down at the table shakily. "That's for earlier, little speck."

He saw from his point of view the building sized (for him) ribs in front of him and he couldn't help but drool.

Trevor finally stopped laughing, though the image of cowboy Gale is etched in his mind. He saved a bit of space on the plate and placed a piece of ribs on it, alongside some mashed potatoes. The dragon immediately ran to it, licking his jaws in front of such a delicious meal.

Trevor simply laughed at that as he grabbed his utensils, ready to eat as well. But before he could, he saw the dragon raise up a piece of meat as he looked at him fondly. "Cheers, to your new job, and for this very special day.."

The dog smiled brightly as he raised a piece of meat with his fork and raised it as well. "Cheers, for being with me, and for more special days to come, Gale."

The two shared a loving silence as they began to eat.

**********

The meal went well. There's really not much to say as the two continued to eat quietly, savoring the food in front of them. Gale asks for more, Trevor gives him more, the cycle continues as the ribs are slowly devoured by the couple.

One would think that the two, who hadn't met for a month, will have so much to say, so much to show. But the two are simply enjoying their company in silence.

As always, that was enough for the two.

The two ended their meal with full stomachs, especially so for Gale, as the tiny dragon devoured way more than his size would allow him. Trevor sometimes wonders where all of that goes, then again, he is always hungry....

He grabbed a tissue to give to the dragon as he took a few for himself. Gale did his best to clean himself up of sauce, he might have been a bit too voracious earlier. Trevor laughed as he saw the dragon struggling and decided to help him, grabbing a clean one to use.

As the dog gently wiped off the sauce from the dragon, Gale kept on gazing on his little speck, then on the hand that towered him. He slowly tried to reach out to the large paw pad, Gale's hand shaking a bit as he...

"Gale?"

The dragon stopped and sighed as he dropped his arm to his side and grinned. "Nothing. Just...thinking."

Trevor smiled as he gently slid the dragon inside his pocket and paid for the bill. He slightly cringed at the price, but sighed. It was worth it anyway, especially since it's so good. 'I should invite my co-workers here. I think it might be a good time.'

With nothing else to do, he stepped out of the restaurant and walked slowly. He felt his big guy move about inside the pocket as he ventured a bit more onto the town, heading towards the park.

"Thought of anything yet, my little speck?" He heard from the dragon who finally let go of his little lint hat and Trevor simply sighed.

"Not really." Trevor admitted as he touched the dragon once more with his index finger, circling around the dragon's muscular back. "Maybe we could ride a boat-?"

"Pass. I remembered what happened last time."

Trevor chuckled at the sight of the pouting dragon. He held Gale in his paw tightly as he reassured him. "I won't let it happen again, I promise. Besides, they got rid of the kois a long time ago, Gale."

"Still pass. No offense, but I'd rather not relive it."

The dog merely sighed at that as he looked beyond the road. He could see the trees from afar now, but what got his attention is the various posters and flyers around him about some event happening. He happened to grab one flier and take a look at it. "Hmm?"

Gale, curious why the dog had stopped walking, peeked out of the pocet and saw the paper and hummed in thought.

It was about a fireworks show planned for later tonight. Stalls, booths and a little concert as well. There was free admission, too.

The two looked at each other for a few good seconds, and nodded.

Looks like they have something planned for tonight. 'Now, how to pass time...' Trevor thought as he moved forward.

**********

"Haah, that was tiring..."

The dog is now sitting on one of the benches, tired after a lot of walking he had done. It has been a few hours now since they arrived at the park and the two simply decided to see the various booths and stalls around as part of the celebrations.

If Trevor was honest, he would have appreciated knowing about the celebration before so he wouldn't be that worried about their date. He sighed, releasing all that stress into the wind. 'No use complaining now, I guess.'

Now that the sun has set, it's only a few minutes till the fireworks show will begin. By Gale's recommendation, they decided to hang out a bit in a more private part of the park to eat up their snacks.

On his right is his beloved dragon, eating the cotton candy the dog had bought for him. In fact, Trevor bought a lot of snacks for themselves. From fish-shaped pastries filled with cream to candies, the two shared their haul of after all the walking they had done.

He then felt something trapped between his legs and he was reminded of the dragon's little gift for him. Trevor smiled as he grabbed the toy on his lap. It was a small, green plush dragon that Gale 'won'. Sure, he might have cheated a bit but as Gale said, "The game is rigged anyway."

Besides, the look on the guy's face was priceless.

He studied the toy in his hand, it was bigger than his beloved dragon at 6 inches tall, and was wider due to being chubby, full of cottony fluff. It reminded him of the picture he took when he 'won', in which Gale is struggling to carry the damn thing.

He chuckled a bit as he grabbed a cupcake and took a bite out of it. It was really good, too.

He looked down and saw his big guy eating happily, the tinyinch dragon took a big bite out of his cotton candy. Despite eating lunch that was intended for a child way bigger than he was, Gale managed to finish half of the snack Trevor bought for them.

The smiling dog looked over what remained of their snack haul; a couple of red velvet cupcakes, small bite-sized pancakes (for Trevor, at least), two packs of jelly beans, and a piping hot serving of takoyaki.

He saw Gale absolutely destroying the cotton candy that outsized him in any way. It's always funny to see. 'It's a good thing he never gets fat.' He thought as he touched the strong, hard muscles of his lover with his other hand.

The dragon was surprised but eventually let him, even flexing a bit to show off. HIs biceps bulging and pecs bouncing as the dog pushed his fingertip against each hardened muscle. The dragon did a wide lat spread and the dog whistled in response, tracing his thumb on the wide back as the various ridges of the scaly back showed.

"Impressed, little speck?" Gale said as he showed off his magnificent pecs. The dog chuckled as he traced the muscles with his fingertip.

"Always, big guy."

The two laughed and the dragon continued his one-way trip to a full stomach. The moon is shining dimly in the night sky by the time Gale is done with his cotton candy. The dog clapped his knees and stood up, stretching a bit as he cleaned up the mess they had. "We should probably get going and find a good spot for the fireworks."

The dragon nodded as he immediately stood up and grabbed scraps of cake and sweets he could gather and threw them in the empty cupcake holder. The dog then grabbed it and threw it away. As for the rest, he grabbed all the food besides the takoyaki and put them in a plastic bag.

"Let's go?"

Gale nodded as he felt the dog gently grabbing him and putting him back inside his pocket, then grabbed the hot takoyaki with the other. With that in mind, they walked around some more as they found an area with the least amount of people; a small clearing by the trees, just private enough for dragon to enjoy the sights on top of his lover's paw.

They won't see the fireworks clearly, the trees made sure of that, but the quietness of the place is a perfect place for the two of them.

Gale simply sat there as he yawned, tiredness finally caught up to him as he made himself comfortable on the dog's paw pad.

"Feeling sleepy?"

"Yeah..."

The two shared a silent time with each other as they slowly ate the takoyaki. They could hear the crowd being excited as the time for the show was getting nearer.

"This is nice." Trevor heard the dragon say as he felt the inch tall dragon move about on his paw. He let out a satisfied sigh as he reached out to the dragon with his other hand. The two contemplated in deep silence.

A relationship like theirs wouldn't have normally survived, especially with the situation they are in, but it did. Trevor sighed as he heard the telltale signs of fireworks flying to the sky. Trevor said the first thing in his mind as he smiled.

And as they looked up, they saw colors painting the sky.

The two were mesmerized, eyes wide open to the fiery colors dancing with the stars. All shapes and colors, they pop out of the dark blue sky and fade just as easily. With one gone, another replaced it, just as beautiful as the last one.

Gale, sitting on the dog's paw, gazes at the beautiful colors. It has been a while since he saw fireworks like these, yet he is still compelled to look at his beloved.

He saw Trevor's golden fur being lighted up by the various colors. Greens and blues and reds, all suit him as he looks up and smiles. It was like looking at him for the first time, when the dog found his dollhouse in the shop and they locked eyes for the first time.

Gale slowly reached out to the dog's finger, slowly dragging his hand downward through the golden fur. He smiled as he shed a tear. 'This is really happening to me, huh?'

Trevor felt this, felt the small hand brushing through his fur. He took a glance at his lover as he slowly clenched his fist, surrounding the dragon with his fingers. It was like the first time he felt the dragon up, mystified with him as the dragon chuckled at him after the dog found him inside that dollhouse.

Trovor slowly turned his head and looked, really looked, at his big guy. How his scales and horns give him such a strong silhouette, how his green scales shined beautifully with the colors. How his body is full of bulging muscles fit for a model. Those eyes that always look at him, gaze at him with so much passion.

The two were mesmerized by each other, forgetting about the dancing colors in the sky. As they look at each other, so deeply in love, they pour out their soul in a simple sentence.

It didn't need to be said, but regardless they did.

"I love you, Gale."

"I love you, Trevor."

And as the sky turned blue, green and gold, they kissed deeply. Gale is holding on, hugging his lover's snout. Trevor clenched his fist just enough to secure Gale. The kiss lasted for a few moments, both of them not wanting to let go of each other.

But alas, they both knew their time was running out.

The two relented and separated, the fireworks a perfect backdrop as they gazed at each other, smiling as the moment of goodbye ws coming.

"I'll come back in another month, Trevor. You know I would."

"I know. I'll wait for you, Gale."

And in one final hug, the two could feel each other's warmth. Trevor hugged Gale with all his might, and so did the dragon to the dog. As the fireworks reached their climax, the two let all their love in one single action.

Tighter and tighter, harder and harder.

And as the colors in the sky faded, so did the dragon in Trevor's hands. He looked down at his empty paws and saw no one. Only the clothes that his big guy left behind.

Yet there were no tears. Only contentment as he pocketed the small garments like how he did with his beloved. He cleaned up their mess and grabbed the plastic full of food. He took another glance at the plush dragon and petted it, feeling the soft fur between his fingers, smiling as he carried it with him all the way to his home.

The date has finally ended.

**********

Trevor just finished washing off the day away with a nice hot shower. He sighed as he dried himself off. It was admittedly a long and tiring day for the golden retriever, and he can;t wait to end this with a restful sleep.

He exited the bathroom with only a towel on his waist. He had to admit, Gale's previous comment about him getting buff made him really proud of his body, even for this short while.

"Can't really compare to him, though." He chuckled as he traced his fingers that touched his dragon's body earlier. As he thought of his muscular lover, he saw the dragon plushie by the kitchen table, staring at him with those round, cartoonish eyes.

He smiled as he grabbed the precious plushie with his hands. It's bigger but the damn thing reminds him so much of Gale. "I wonder if that's why you're so keen on winning this for me." He said as he hugged it with all his might.

...

Silence hit him as he went straight to his bedroom as he contemplated their initial meeting..

Their meeting was by chance. Heartbroken from both his relationship and career, his friend brought him to an antique store, possibly to distract him with shiny doodads and old knickknacks. That's where he found Gale, an unusually small dragon whom he thought was just a doll inside the doll house.

When he asked the shop owner, he denied such a thing but the dragon was on his mind for that day, there's something in his face that reminded him of something.

It took him a few hours to know what it reminded him of; it reminded him of himself, when everything in his life went wrong.

He bought the house the very next day, pretty much an impulse buy but he was so curious about the tiny dragon, yet there was none to be found. It wasn't until another month since he found him again, hiding, terrified. It took a while, but they introduced themselves to each other, they talked and then he was gone.

Another month, he was back then gone, then another month. The routine was set for the two, as they enjoyed the limited time they had together. At that point, it was like everything changed. Gale was like a lifeboat that he wanted at that time. The simple time of companionship turned to friendship. Then one day, that turned into something more. Something mutual.

He can't help but feel lucky.

He removed his towel and wore his usual pajamas. Before going to bed, he took another look at the dollhouse. At some point, he crouched down and eyed the window on the second floor, the same window his big guy was in early in the morning. For some reason, he wanted to see his dragon once more. Maybe he's just sleeping on the small wooden bed, or maybe...

...

He chuckled sadly. He misses his big guy already.

As the night got darker, he went to bed with the plush dragon in tow. In some way, he would never feel lonely. Yes, he does miss him. Everyday, in fact. But...

He looked up. Not on the ceiling, no, but beyond that. Beyond the skies, the stars, the galaxy. Even from here, in this lonely room of his home, he could just feel the piercing, loving gaze of his lover.

His big guy.

Gale.

He felt himself wrapped in that loving gaze, such a passionate stare keeps him from feeling alone as he made himself comfortable on his bed. He kept the plush with him, hugging it tightly as he felt the warm stare of his Gale from afar.

***

Gale felt his body float around as he became conscious once more. Even if he just woke up, he already missed the warmth of his dog as he opened his eyes, eyeing the dark expanse of his cage once more. He floated around, his muscular body weightless as he flailed around to turn himself upright.

Then again, what is upright in this 'home' of his?

He sighed, as always, he was back to this place. No matter what he does, the end is always the same. "That's why it's a curse, I guess." He whispered as he looked down at his body, naked once more showing off his physique for everyone to see.

He sighed as he patted his stomach. He could still taste the various foods he had eaten earlier; the takoyaki, the cotton candy, the ribs, the popcorn and then breakfast...

...he was glad he met Trevor, more than his life. When he got cursed due to his hubris, he hadn't thought he would even have someone to be with, especially with what the curse entails. Living life alone in this neverending space, only getting a glimpse of normal life once a month, and in that size, it was the dragon's personal hell.

Then he saw Trevor. No, more like Trevor saw him.

He admitted he was scared. Terrified, especially when he saw the dollhouse in a different location. He hid away from him in fear but it didn't matter when the golden retriever waited for him, but instead of mocking or ridicule, all he got was genuine wonder from the dog who gently touched him.

That touch, the dragon's spine tingled when he felt the warm touch of the dog. SInce then, his fear of returning slowly vanished, replaced with excitement for what the dog has in store for him. Food, news, conversation. Simple meetings made way for friendship...

...and eventually, love.

He sighed as he spotted a few dim lights at the corner of his eyes and floated towards a particular one. The light is barely bigger than half of his fingertip, yet it holds so much meaning to him as he gently cupped it into his scaly hands.

He sighed as he gazed at the speck, the speck containing so much life.

That speck of light, a multiverse, contains a certain universe, that certain universe contains a certain galaxy, that certain galaxy contains a certain system, in that certain system is a certain planet...

...and on that certain planet lives his beloved dog.

His little speck.

Trevor.

Just the thought of his little speck made him feel his loving warmth, how he was wrapped with those loving hands, how those soft fingertips traced his body. It makes him miss his little speck even more, but he can wait.

He had waited years for a way to escape, a way to be free. A month is merely nothing.

He closed his eyes and curled himself on the little light, careful not to disturb the others like it surrounding him. He closed his eyes and he could feel the warmth of Trevor's hands surround his body.

***

And as the two rested for another day, they felt loved.

The dog felt the loving gaze of his big guy pierce through his loneliness.

The dragon felt the warm touch of his little speck surround him through the cold.

They eagerly await their next meeting in another month, knowing that their love will prevail in any situation.

"I love you, Gale." said the dog as he hugged the plush tightly, eager to hold his lover tightly.

"I love you, Trevor." said the dragon as he curled closer to the speck of light, still mesmerized by his lover.

In the end of the day, there was love all around them. For the two people who met, who stayed, who loved, that was enough.

That was more than enough.
