#2 of Castlevania: Tammy Nook's Reign

Anon wakes up in the shack, and receives answers on the whole truth of the matter, and now it's up to him to save the other villlagers.

Anon woke up to the sound of... The waves?

Anon opened his eyes and realized he was in a hut... A hut that Tortimer seemed to live in.

"Was... Was it all a dream?" Anon asked himself.

Anon was about to believe it was, until Tortimer interrupted his thoughts.

"Certainly not, you were almost killed back there" Tortimer told him, bringing him some tea.

Anon looked at his shoulder, finally noticing that it was bandaged up.

"No... Isabelle... Lucky... Margie... Everyone... They all became that Tammy lady's servants!" Anon yelled, putting his hands between his head.

"Not all is lost Anon. You still have what it takes to save them all" Tortimer comforted him.

"But what can I possibly do? I'm just... Just a human! A human with no special powers! That Tammy vampire has powers! She'll rip me to shreds!" Anon said, not too convinced about anything.

"Oh Anon, you're being too hard on yourself. You're the mayor, and the mayor has to protect its people" Tortimer urged him.

"... What about the police? Copper and Booker, surely they could handle it?" Anon asked him.

"... I'm afraid they have fallen for her powers as well. The vampire is too powerful for conventional weapons. We're cut off from the rest of the world, not until she captures you" Tortimer informed him.

"Then... Then I'll give myself to her. In exchange for everyone's lives" Anon told him.

"This has happened before, but you already know that, don't you?" Tortimer asked him.

"You mean...?" Anon asked him.

Tortimer nodded.

"Your ancestor has done the same thing, beg for everyone's lives in exchange for theirs. That which he was mocked for by the vampire queen herself" Tortimer confirmed his suspicion.

"Then... Then what do I even do? If nothing works on her, and she won't listen to any kind of bargain, then it's useless to do anything" Anon told Tortimer.

"There is a way Anon, you had it with you before you fell unconscious" Tortimer then pulled something from a nearby drawer, and presented him with the same whip that Isabelle had gave him.

"That... That thing... That's the reason I'm in this whole mess!" Anon complained, not wanting to see something like that.

"No Anon, you have to understand, it was going to happen no matter what you would have done. This could very well lead you towards the other villagers salvation" Tortimer encouraged him.

"How? Won't this... Won't this kill them?" Anon asked Tortimer.

"No, in fact, it would save them. Anon, do you even wonder why I even tell you the tale of your ancestor all these years? How he had failed to save everyone he had been the village chief of?" Anon asked him.

"I don't know... Isn't it usually just one of those tales that you had fondly told of like you do with your other long stories told by your own grandpa just like you tell me?" Anon asked him.

"No Anon... You see, I had lived through it. Every little detail was true, and I can feel it in my rickety old bones" Tortimer said.

"W-What? How old even are you!?" Anon asked him, not believing him in the slightest, but somehow felt like he was also telling the truth, it wasn't like Tortimer to lie about something.

"I'm over 200 years old, you should have seen me when I was a young lad, hehehehe" Tortimer laughed.

"So... So you really think that I could save my friend with this whip?" Anon asked him.

"Anon, I have talked to the witch herself. That very whip is the very weapon she has forged, the one that you would wield and free your friends with. It not only strikes at the body, but the soul as well. Yes, your friends may get hurt, but it'll absolutely destroy demonic souls, they'll be freed before your friends even feel a thing" Tortimer assured him.

"Then... Is the witch from your stories still alive?" Anon asked him.

"Sadly, just as she had said, she had already passed away. But she made sure to complete her promise to infuse this whip with magic to expel demons from others, as well as destroy them. I am partly responsible for Isabelle presenting that to you. I told every descendant of the witch to tell their respectable mayors, your ancestors, about it. It was only a matter of time when it befell one of the mayor's descendants to finally have a good use for that whip, and that responsibility to free everyone, now befalls you. And this time, the vampire queen can be vanquished... Permanently" Tortimer told him.

"Then I must go, my villagers need me. As their mayor, it's my responsibility to save them" Anon said, wincing a bit as the wound on his shoulder acted up.

"You should rest a while Anon, your body is mortal, it won't do you any good to save your friends if you die" Tortimer warned him.

"I can't waste any second... Everyone's suffering, especially Isabelle. I remember her getting tossed in a cage, she must have been taken to that castle" Anon argued.

"Then I guess there's no talking you out of this. But before you go Anon, you should wear this pendant" Tortimer told him.

"What's that?" Anon asked.

"It's a necklace that will prevent you from becoming possessed by her lady's magic. It's what your ancestor wore when he confronted her" Tortimer gave the pendant to him.

Anon wore the necklace, feeling oddly more calm and safer now with it on.

"You're just like your ancestor, a spitting image of him, behehehe. Isabelle is too" Tortimer reminisced.

"Wait she is? I thought it was just a coincidence she was a shiba" Anon asked him.

"She's very much blood related to the witch as you were. Although this might have cast some confusion in Tammy, after all, besides your ancestor defeating her minions, she was the one responsible for her getting sealed. She had been the one to seal him after all, and now Tammy wants her witch back on her side. Perhaps maybe she thought that she could convince the witch to join her side again, something that Isabelle has completely no idea about" Tortimer theorized.

"Then I'm off to rescue them" Anon said.

"I already told Kapp'n to wait for you, once you land on shore, I'm afraid there's no going back. It's going to be a rough journey ahead, but I know you'll come out on top. Your bloodline always has" Tortimer assured him, sitting down on his chair, and passing out.

"Gramps!" Anon yelled, before checking on him.

Anon has always worried about Tortimer, he was always an old codger, but he worried about when he would suddenly keel over and die all of a sudden. Thankfully, he was just sleeping.

"Sometimes he worries me..." Anon said, before leaving the hut and heading towards the docks.

Upon seeing Kapp'n, he was glad to have seen Anon.

"Ah! Anon! Tortimer told me that there was an epidemic on the island, I hear that you're on your way to ask nearby villages for a cure. Shall we set off?" Kapp'n asked him.

Epidemic? Seems that Tortimer had made up an excuse so that Kapp'n wouldn't put himself in danger, and keep him from panicking. Good thinking though, he wouldn't want to involve Kapp'n in this, especially when Tammy wants to get her revenge on his bloodline.

"Yeah... I was told there was a vaccine and a way to stop the uh... The itching disease" Anon told Kapp'n.

Kapp'n shivered, scratching a bit at his kappa skin.

"Golly! I sure wouldn't want to stick around for that. Maybe I'll check back in maybe a day or two just to be safe, I wouldn't want Tortimer or the others to catch it" Kapp'n said, making Anon feel relieved that Kapp'n or anybody else on the island wouldn't endanger themselves.

Getting near the village, Anon finally noticed that the sky had turned red... Huh... This must be why Tortimer said something about a plague in the village. It was visibly threatening to look at.

"Well here we are Anon, tell the scientist guys that they have my thanks" Kapp'n said, before they docked.

"Thanks Kapp'n, tell Tortimer that he has my thanks" Anon said as he got off the boat.

"No problem! And good luck with that kitchen accident. Gotta be more careful you know" Kapp'n said, before he started to leave the island, slowly becoming a small dot in the distance.

Once Anon thought he had safely made it away from the island without danger, he looked upon the castle in the distance.

Good thing Kapp'n didn't ask too much questions, the castle was a big giveaway, but somehow Kapp'n didn't question the possibility of a castle in the first place.
