#22 of Taming The Wilds

Brigirth returns to the home he left so many weeks ago, with new friends and a heavy heart.

(Sorry for the late update. I really struggled with this chapter because it was so emotional, so I sorta put it off and got caught up in my other series.)

"Glrk. Glmph. Grmp." Slurping noises reverberated in Brigirth's ears, rousing him from a dreamless sleep. With a shuddering moan, he realized the sexually charged noises that woke him were his own, wrung from his slack, dripping mouth by a slow, deep-delving kitsune cock working his throat open. Nuzzling into the saliva-dripping mess he'd made of Isamu's groin, he delighted in the slimy, heated skin. The cock that owned him, the cock that captured his heart, felt so good in his mouth, and he felt a familiar hunger to please its pulsing shaft.

"There are those pretty eyes. I haven't seen you sleep this well since you found me." Doting fingers gently petted over Brigirth's horns, and half-lidded silver eyes met Brigirth's. "Finish me off. I've been holding back to make sure you can taste it." He licked his lips, bucking his hips to hurry Brigirth's gentle ministrations into a proper facefuck. Glistening muscles clenched with effort, and Brgirth hoped that Isamu would let him lick them clean after he finished feeding the dragon breakfast.

Gentle orders sent a thrill through Brigirth's scaled body, his tail lifting instinctively behind him as he doubled his efforts, rolling his sloppy maw along that perfect vulpine length. He could suck this beautiful, demanding cock for days at a time without complaint. Blurring his motions with sheer speed, he worked the dripping shaft with all the enthusiasm he could muster, sheathing it deep in his throat with every bob and letting his tongue loll out to roll against drool-flecked orbs.

A lazy growl heralded Isamu's orgasm, and Brigirth struggled to accept every sloppy string of vulpine approval, the gooey excess dripping down his chin to smear across his pecs. The flow continued for what felt like hours but could only have been minutes before a final weak drip graced Brigirth's tongue, and that heavenly cock withdrew to flop, half-hard against Isamu's stomach.

Brigirth followed that length down to Isamu's stomach with soft kisses, his lips trailing over Isamu's toned muscles before he draped himself over the kitsune, his heated bulk pressing down in a full-body hug. "I love you." He panted breathlessly against soft skin, nuzzling his nose against Isamu's cheek. Despite Brigirth's larger size, Brigirth's small dragonhood against that massive flaccid kitsune cock reminded him of his submissive tendencies. He smothered his unsatisfied member in big, soft kitsune balls with slutty abandon, though he didn't bother finishing himself.

"I love you too, beautiful." Isamu's fingers clenched behind Brigirth's head, dragging him into a long, seed-tainted kiss. With no great urgency, they reveled in each other's warm embrace and dozed in comfortable silence. Isamu's free hand hungrily clutched Brigirth's rump, giving it a hard slap before their lips parted, breaking him from his love-addled cuddling. "We should go speak with your new friend, you know. I'll stake my claim on your scaled perfection again later."

Leaning against each other, they strode from the room to meet their hosts, the kitsune's tails tickling Brigirth's scales and a claiming hand holding his. Brigirth felt like a newly married maiden, giddy and starved for Isamu's attention. It didn't matter that they hadn't known each other long; their mana exchange taught them everything they needed to know about each other.

Bo was already sitting at the table alongside Lu Meng, who looked soundly chastised, pointedly staring at the floor rather than meeting Brigirth's eyes. Strangely there wasn't a limp in his step, despite the ferocity of the tanuki's kick to his orbs the day before, as he stood up and took a few steps forward.

The fluffy lion-dog bowed so deep that his nose threatened to smash against the floor. "Sorry, dragon. I shouldn't have attacked you." With an air of a freshly disciplined child, he looked to Bo, his solemn expression breaking into a smile at the tanuki's approving nod, his cloud-like tail beating a pattern behind him.

"Oh, it's alright. You were trying to protect this place. That's perfectly understandable." Brigirth accepted the apology, sitting across from the tanuki and drawing Isamu's nude body into his embrace, perching the kitsune on his lap and resting his chin on a muscled shoulder while roaming hands explored the fox man's muscled physique.

"See Lu? All you have to do is be polite." Bo patted the komainu's chest affectionately, then turned his attention to Brigirth. "I see you two had a pleasant night, judging by the fluids staining your mouths? I'm glad he recovered so quickly. Most patients with mana sickness don't have a bountiful font to replenish themselves." He smirked behind a mug of tea, showing his good nature with his playful teasing.

"Would you like to hear my ideas? It might be presumptuous of me, but based on what you've told me, I think your growing community requires protectors if it is to recover." Draining gulps finished his tea, and Bo's finger affectionately played with one of Lu Meng's pecs, his claws tracing over the piercing. "Though this lovable oaf may not look like it, he and his kind would be best suited to solving your problem. Observe." Sharp claws stained the komainu's fluffy chest with blood, raking thin lines across it and staining white fur.

Brigirth thought about stopping the painful-looking treatment, but a loud moan from the komainu and a quick, almost instantaneous close of the wound gave him pause. That was faster than even Russell's powers. What exactly was Lu Meng?

"They heal fast, they're a stone wall of muscle, and as far as I can tell, they all enjoy pain just as much as pleasure." Bo scratched behind Lu Meng's ear affectionately as big fluffy arms pulled him into a hug and a wagging tail thumped against everything in range. "Besides Lu Meng, who's improved over the years I've known him, they're all dreadfully dumb. Easy to please, loyal, and pure-hearted, though. And best of all, they are all currently looking for a home. We visited them a week ago, and they were attention-starved."

"They'll just come with us? Without any questions asked?" Brigirth sounded skeptical, but he couldn't deny his own experience. When Lope, Russell, and Durz found him, he was desperate to serve. Loneliness was a powerful motivator.

"This lovable dope has stayed with me for around five years because I'm willing to feed him and put up with his antics. I think you have a solid chance of charming his tribe. Just rub some bellies, scratch some ears, spank some rears, and they'll love you forever." Despite his slightly coarse pet names for the komainu, it was clear from their body language that the two were a happy couple. The komainu sat happily on the floor next to the tanuki, nuzzling into his hand to demand attention like a family dog.

After a few moments spent doting on his kitsune master and eating a light breakfast, Brigirth set off for the komainu village with Bo and Lu Meng in tow. It was a surprisingly short walk, with less than an hour spent plodding along before a makeshift group of leather tents came into view.

"Friends?!" A dopey voice called from within one of the tents, and a brightly colored blur zoomed from within, barreling down on them. Lu Meng stepped forward to take the brunt of the overexcited creature's strength, catching him in strong arms and revealing another komainu in place of the colored blur.

"Yah Shi. We don't break friends. Be gentle." Lu Meng embraced the large, fluffy black komainu with a bright crimson tail and head fur, scolding him in an uncharacteristically fatherly manner. It was almost comical coming from someone that first greeted Brigirth with a slash of a sword.

"Sorry, chief." The newcomer's tail wagged madly, but his ears slid back, and he nuzzled into Lu Meng's chest. "Did chief bring new friends? EVERYONE! CHIEF BROUGHT NEW FRIENDS!" He called out without waiting for an answer, and sleepy, interested faces peeked from the remaining half a dozen tents as their occupants roused from midday naps, their bright fur endearingly messy.

Soon a semicircle of colorful, fluffy faces stared eagerly at Brigirth, dressed in nothing but loincloths with various piercings decorating their muscled bodies. Tentatively, he explained their situation, watching as enraptured muzzles stared at him expectantly. His voice cracked and faltered when he described that horrible day all those weeks ago when his home burned, but Isamu's supportive grip on his scaled hand steadied his voice.

Yah Shi was the first to break the silence. "You want us to protect friends from bad men?" With his fingers pressed together and a childish innocence in his expression as he shifted from foot to foot, he mumbled. "Will we get belly rubs if we're good boys? Lots of belly rubs? And snacks?"

"I suppose. Ko's apprentices are some of the best cooks I've ever met. And belly rubs don't seem like much of an imposition. Perhaps even a more hands-on approach if you'd prefer." Brigirth was sure there'd be no shortage of people willing to pet the fluffy komainu. He just hoped they were okay with being molested at the same time.

"BELLY RUBS!" a resounding cheer echoed through the small crowd, and Brigirth found himself assaulted by pressing furry bodies, mashing him against pecs, and squeezing him so tightly that he worried his bones would crack. Strangely, the overexuberant embraces brought a warm fuzzy feeling to his chest. It reminded him of servicing rooms full of men in Lopestown and falling asleep pressed between them.

"Wait. Chief said, be gentle." Yah Shi came to Brigirth's rescue, shoving his way through the crowd and peeling the dragon's red scales free from the press of overeager bodies. "We gotta be nice, or we might not get any treats."

Tails drooped in unison as if that was the worst thing ever uttered in their presence, and arms released Brigirth while expectant faces stared at him.

Bo patted the bewildered dragon's arm. "See? I told you, they're easy to please. It's adorable, honestly. I brought them some jerky once, and you'd swear I was a god come to earth." Leaning back into Lu Meng's embrace, he accepted the grumbling man's affection. "Yes, dear. I know. You're cuter than all of them. Don't worry."

They set off that day, leaving behind the komainu's makeshift shelters and heading south toward Mimid. It quickly became apparent that the lion dogs were nearly tireless. Rather than waiting for Bo, Brigirth, and Isamu to match their pace, they opted to carry their smaller friends, still chanting "belly rubs~" under their breath. Even Brigirth sat on Yah Shi's shoulders, despite his larger size, and the komainu seemed un-bothered by the extra weight.

With the komainus' stamina, it wasn't long before they reached the border and crossed from Shoufey's semi-tropical climate into the more traditional brisk autumn of Mimid. Brigirth knew that Lopestown was gone, but this was the most likely place for his friends to seek asylum if Prilia didn't allow them to live in peace. They would be safe with their orc allies among Mimid's forces. They had to be.

As they headed to the capital on komainu-back, a familiar lyrical voice perked Brigirth's ears. "Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!" Golden feathers caught the light, and Luminos lit down in front of them, stopping the komainu in their tracks. "There you are! We've been searching for you for weeks! You've missed so much." The phoenix lifted a feathered eye ridge as he looked around Brigirth's ragtag group and laughed. "Looks like you've been busy, too. No need to explain; I get it. We attract strays."

With a hurried explanation, Luminos took to the skies, guiding them toward Lopestown's remaining residents, flying low and trying to slow himself to stay within sight.

Unlike the verdant forest home that Brigirth put so much love into, their new home jutted from a sheer rock face. Expertly carved tunnels lined with stone and reinforced with wooden support replaced their simple wooden houses.

The space outside the tunnels consisted of shady, tent-like spots where monsters and humans lounged, some engaged in erotic activities. In the middle of the leisure space, a wooden figure stood proudly, and Brigirth felt his throat tighten when he realized what the figure represented.

Though the wooden statue's face wasn't quite the same as Brigirth's beloved tanuki, it was clear from his intricately carved curves and a kind smile that it was Ko. As Brigirth walked closer, his face twisting in sobs, his eyes lit on a curling inscription beneath the fatherly tanuki's feet, lovingly carved without a single mistake.

[In memory of those that gave their lives to protect our way of life. Your heroism humbles us, and your kindness lives on within us. Rest peacefully, friends. We'll never forget you.]

This touching tribute was what Ko deserved. Not the denial that Brigirth's grief spawned, not righteous anger. Just a memory of everything the man stood for and what he died to protect. Now he could watch over the people he loved, even in death.

"Isamu? UNCLE ISAMU!" Nimei's voice rang out, cutting through Brigirth's sobs. As streaming eyes turned to follow the blur of crimson fur, a smile cracked his lips through sobs. It seemed his suspicions were correct. The silver eyes that Isamu saw moments before mana sickness blanked his memory were Nimei's.

"How are you still alive? Are mom and dad okay? Did anyone else make it out? Where have you been?" Rapid-fire questions assaulted the muscular kitsune as arms wrapped around his waist, long red hair hiding Nimei's face against his chest.

Isamu returned the embrace and rested his chin on Nimei's head, stroking his hand through silken hair. "I honestly don't know how to answer any of those questions. I don't remember anything before my lovely dragon over there found me. At least everything after our last stand." He drew the younger kitsune into a deep hug, his eyes drifting closed and a serene expression on his face.

Brigirth wiped his eyes and left the two to get reacquainted, patting Isamu on the back on his way. He had no particular destination in mind, but he didn't want to ruin a family reunion, and his feelings were too raw to explain his journey to Russell and the others. Despite his reputation as the village slut, he still had SOME pride as a man.

"Excuse me. Are you Brigirth, by any chance?" A scratchy voice roused the dragon from his reminiscence. A griffin with patchy fur and nubs in place of wings stood in his path, leaning on a wooden cane. "You're the dragon I've heard so much about, aren't you?"

At Brigirth's nod, the griffin threw his arms around Brigirth and squeezed him weakly, tossing his cane to the side. "I'm so sorry. While I rotted in my cell, wallowing in self-pity and circumstance, people like you worked hard to improve my people's lives. If I were stronger- If I were strong enough to protect this land, your friends need never have died."

Tears stained Brigirth's scales, and the weakened griffin shook, his eyes shut tightly. "You did what I couldn't, and you faced nothing but hardship because of it. From the bottom of my heart, I, Hephaestus, thank you. You're a better man than I." Hephaestus took a shuddering breath, "I hope the statue of your fallen friend brings you some comfort. I've never met him, but I've heard many wonderful stories of his kind and gentle nature. I tried to match his likeness to the best of my ability."

Hephaestus's kind voice reminded Brigirth so much of Ko's that he couldn't help himself. Barely contained sobs deepened, and he fell to his knees, squeezing the man tightly and burying his face in soft white feathers. Until now, he tried to keep himself together, worried that he had no home to return to and that his life would never be the same, but this stranger's show of kindness proved him wrong. The community Ko lived and died for still existed. His spirit lived on, even in those who never met him.
