Life of A Demon

Story by Isinia on SoFurry

I remember those wonderful years when I was younger. Two types of species alike, yet different. One being human, and the other being an anthropomorphic person. I am what they call a furre because of what I am. So our species became known as Furres. Humans shared this world along with us. I wasn't just a four-legged animal since I could do anything the humans could. Both of our species living together peacefully until one day, the humans became hostile towards us for no apparent reason. Like as if something had taken their peace away.

A half arctic wolf and half arctic fox, named Isinia Mosienko... me. How or why did the humans become aggressive towards us, will never be known. All I knew is they were my enemies. I grew to hate them so much and when my parents died protecting me, it only fueled my anger towards them. I only managed to grow along with my parents for a few more years until I became old enough to protect myself. Sadly, it was that point when they died, saving me, telling me to run. I also had a brother but he... disappeared one day for some reason. Oddly enough it was only a matter of days before the humans turned against us.

Now, only I remained, or so I felt like it was but I knew better. There had to be someone out there, still fighting against them. I wandered for days, barely able to escape from crazed humans. Breaking into abandoned food stores like a thief or a beggar looking for food and water, hiding in the building for long as possible until it was time to move on. I cried at times wishing that I could see my family together again. Wishing that none of this ever happened but it did. Now here I am, trapped in some stupid big huge old building that looked like a hospital waiting for death to come.

How did I arrive here? I was looking for a safe place to be. I was barely going to open the door when I suddenly got hit from behind, then waking up in this miserable looking room with no food or water. There was nothing in this bed except for an empty chair that the crazed person would sometimes come in and start threatening to kill me. Was I scared? Yes... I was. It was him who had captured me and placed me in this room. Blood stains where almost everywhere.

So here I am now, locked in this miserable room, crying wanting to get out. I could hear someone approaching the door, beginning to unlock it. Here walked in some person, who liked to keep his identity hidden by using a big trench coat along with a hat that shadowed his face. I sat in a corner far away from him as possible. He just stared, looking at me as if I was some kind of piece of meat on the floor. A dark toned voice came from him, "I can kill you whenever I can. Your suffering is delightful to me."

I stared back at him in return with tears in my eyes and shouted, "Fuck you damn it! Let me go!" Quicker than the speed of my eyes, he suddenly appeared in front of me with a gun pointed at my head, "Don't even think of fighting back. Its dangerous to make me mad and you don't want to get me mad." Rage just built up inside me after feeling so helpless for such a long time. I suddenly just whispered out, "I will kill you for this..." He pointed his gun towards my arm and fired one round, just barely scraping my skin, taking any fur along with it. He continued to do this six more times until I fell over screaming in pain, holding onto my arms as blood seeped just barely from the wounds. "Consider it as a warning because next time I won't hesitate to kill you," he said as he withdrew his gun and went back to his chair with almost no emotion.

I turned to look at him, screaming out to him how much I wanted to kill him for this. I just didn't care anymore at this point as I sat up looking directly into his eyes growled to him, "Go ahead... kill me. You are nothing more than an asshole..." His gun was pointed at my head again, only to move it towards my legs and proceed to the exact same thing he did with my arms. The thread to my pants split open where ever his bullets grazed my skin. My rage was growing and I wanted to attack him so badly. Yet here I was on the floor screaming in pain again. I kept on shouting to him, "What the fuck is wrong with you?! Kill me already! Damn you I said kill me you fucking asshole!" Again, he only proceeded to shoot at certain areas on my body while I screamed again and again. With an almost emotionless voice he said, "I only have one more bullet and this one is for your head." He proceeded to point the gun to my head.

Something clicked in my mind as I groaned in pain while growling towards him, "You won't kill me... otherwise you would've done it since the beginning. What's the matter? You prefer having me alive and continue to mock you?" I knew he had the urge to pull the trigger because his finger was shaking somewhat as he laughed, "Don't be stupid! I don't have any emotions for you to do damage on. All I have is little patience for little girls who don't keep their mouths shut." When he said that, that's when I knew I struck something within him. I didn't know what but I knew it and continued on saying, "Seems your judgment has been clouded by emotions then." This seemed to push him to the edge as he grabbed me by the shirt, pulling me up against the wall and placed his fist against my chest hard and shouted in my face, "Shut up!"

I was struggling to breathe as his fist slowly continued to push hard against me. Somehow I managed to pull off a smile towards him. Had I gone mad or was the lack of oxygen messing with my head? No, it was because there was something about me he just couldn't kill. I went on to say in a choked up voice, "Seems... I found a weak spot... within you." This time he throws me hard towards the other side of the room hitting against the hard wall as he shouted at me once more in a more angry tone, "I said shut up!" I laid there on the floor still staring at him as I winced in pain. My voice was now down to just somewhat of a whisper, saying to him, "Just... spelling out... the fact on you. You do have me... pinned to the ground... with the gun pointed at me.... Yet... you... can't kill me."

Suddenly he just lowered his gun. Within me, I was surprised that he didn't kill me after all. I didn't realize it until now that I had really struck something in him. "It seems I have trouble pulling the trigger on you for some reason." At this point I decided to play along his little game and said, "So you're... the emotional type?" He didn't even answer, but began to slowly back away. I knew he saw me smile and began to say in an almost whisper, "You going to start laughing or going to try something?" "Well what can I do? You're the one with gun here," I said while trying to lean myself against the wall. To my surprise, he puts his gun away, opening the door and starting to step back into the darkness. I could stare into the very darkness where he stepped into as if I could see him but I knew well I couldn't. I was a little startled when I heard something being kicked towards me, it was a flashlight that came along with a whisper, and "I don't know why I can't kill you..." I grabbed the flashlight, turned it on and pointed it towards the doorway only to see it empty.

The door was left open for some reason and I wondered whether he left it open on purpose or by accident. Considering what just happened I believed he did it on purpose. I had enough of this so I took my chance and stepped out the door while ignoring the pain from what he had done earlier. I shined my flashlight down the corridor and noticed it was a rather long hallway. Although as soon as I pointed my flashlight towards the seemingly endless hallway, all the doors opened by themselves. Immediately I began hearing all these cries from other people that were being tortured to death from those rooms.

The screams stopped as quickly as they began. "I don't know why I can't kill you..." he whispered but as soon as I turned towards my left I didn't see anyone and I could only guess he was talking to me from being invisible or some other form to me. "I torture them first and tear them inside out... you are different. Your goal will be to get out but I see that your guts will be on the floor before you even reach the front door." I had an extremely cold shiver from hearing those words coming from out of nowhere. I finally had the nerve to begin walking towards the empty darkness of the hallway. There was so much darkness around me I almost started to panic within my mind, but I was strong enough to push the strong instinct of fear to the back of my mind.

It almost felt like hours before I finally reached the end of the corridor. I was rather relieved to be able to see the moonlight through the rather huge broken window. I could've jumped to freedom but unfortunately it was just too high. "Damn," I thought. I could only guess that I was either four or five floors high. I was startled when I heard another person's voice saying, "Don't even think you'll be getting out that easy!" Turning towards my left I saw some stairs heading downwards so I proceeded to head for the next floor below.

For some reason, once I reached the last step, I felt some sort of curiosity to step into one of the rooms. It was unfortunate because my curiosity was my most extreme weakness. Just as I opened the door, another voice came from the dark room, "Am I scaring you?" At this point I was rather alarmed when I started to hear footsteps behind me and I immediately stepped into the room to back away from whoever it was. It turned out there was nothing there except for air.

I turned around to look what kind of room I was in and to my relief, it was just some old office room but I will still on edge, ready to attack whatever that may lie hidden from my view. The room was deathly quiet and it really made me feel uncomfortable. Dust had settled all over whatever furniture was still here, including a desk that was against the wall for some reason. Everything looked untouched as if left undisturbed for many years or possibly decades.

Just when I thought nothing more could happen the voice had returned but brought along visions for me too see. I saw blood and bodies of children and adults that been unfortunate to have stayed in the building. "Many of them were foolish to enter this house. Some of them went mad and started killing each other, even ripping their own skin off. Two remain in this building, one I call Broken Toy, and the other, The Butcher." I felt a hand touch my cheek and I tried hitting whatever that was there away from my face, but I didn't hit anything. "Think you can take the pain," the voice went on to say. I could only realize it was this thing, whatever it was, was touching me because I felt its hand run down my neck towards my arm.

I tried hitting it only to miss, losing the flashlight and end up losing my balance, ending up falling on the old couch. It didn't soften my landing either as I just fell through it, creating a hole on the couch. I felt large amounts of pain on my back as it hit the wood within, which broke as well due to the wood had rotted over the years. My back was aching but I knew I had to get up because of whatever was in here was toying with her. When I tried getting up, I couldn't for some reason. Yet the more I tried the more I felt like something was holding me back. I tried once more and felt my first tighten and that's when I realized that a piece of the wood from the couch must've gotten a hold on it from my back.

Without a surprise this time, the voice returned once more saying, "Well it seems you will be an easy target." I could just barely see someone standing in the shadows looking at me this time. In a fit of anger I pushed myself as hard as I could, ripping the back, bottom part of my shirt, leaving a small chunk of it on the piece of wood, which refused to let go of my shirt. I leaped towards the shadowy figure but it disappears right before I could grab its neck. I seized the opportunity to get out of the room, to which I did.

I scoffed for a moment, as if laughing at whatever it was that was watching her trying to instill fear in her. I was already afraid at the back of my mind but it was the least thing I wanted to feel right now. "No matter how hard you try little girl, you won't get out alive..." I gave a loud growl, growing weary of his voice taunting me ever since I got out of the room. I was way beyond afraid, I was annoyed, tired, hungry, and definitely mad as I whispered to myself, "Believe me... I will get out alive."

I was about to continue down the hallway until I saw the emergency exit sign pointing to a certain door. Of course I tried opening the door the usual way but unfortunately it was locked so I began to assault the door with hard kicks. It only made little difference and I started to yell out in frustration. I was about to do a flying kick to the door when suddenly something hit me hard on the back of my head. My body started to collapse towards the floor, feeling all my strength being sapped away from such a hit. I tried fighting from being knocked out completely but I only had enough will just to listen a rather deep voice, "Time for a nightmare little girl."

I lost consciousness right after it and I could only guess that this was the end for me, or so I thought. I soon found myself within some sort of blank dream, standing on what appeared to be a white floor with no end in sight. At first I thought if I landed somewhere in heaven but I soon realized I was nowhere close where I thought I was when I saw this shadowy looking figure looking at me from a distance.

I was even prepared for what happened next as the figure suddenly appeared in front of me, grabbed me by the neck, and slammed me against what felt like a wall hard. "I will kill you while you're asleep," he said as he let go of me, "...but I will give you a chance since I am curious as to what my comrades say about you." I choked and coughed for a moment as I tried to regain my breathing only to start running away from whatever he was, only to have him appear in front of me again and grab me by the legs and have me hanging upside down with one arm. I tried kicking him but somehow he had both of my legs together somehow with just one hand as I shouted to him, "Damn you let me go!"

All he could do is just stand there and laugh at my situation, "Hmm... well it seems my comrades were right, you are different, but weak." I took the advantage while he studied me or whatever and proceeded with a punch towards his stomach, causing him to let go of me. As soon as I landed on my hands, I grabbed him by the neck using my legs and flipped him over me towards the ground hard. After standing I looked him over with a raised eyebrow, "What are you talking about?" He didn't say anything but started to run towards me with a chainsaw that he created out of thin air. I was glad at this point towards my grandfather who taught me everything there is to know about martial arts. He tried to cut my head off but I was too quick for him as I did a swipe of his legs and send him off flying. I went on knocking the chainsaw out of his hands, grabbed the chainsaw from him and struck him in the head with it.

The very moment I had killed whatever this guy was, I felt a sharp pain on my shoulder. My hand flew towards my left shoulder reacting instinctively to the pain. I felt the shoulder part of my shirt somehow sliced open a little and had blood on me. Suddenly I woke up after hearing some sort of loud bang in the dream. I found myself on some sort of worn out bed in some sort of hospital looking room. It wasn't until at this point that I found out I was in what used to be some sort of medical building. Again, my hand flew towards my left shoulder, feeling sharp pain, but this time I felt something wet and sticky on my shoulder. I soon as I saw my hand to see what it was, I was a little taken aback that it was my blood.

The pain didn't go away and I could feel drops of blood running down my back. I looked at my shoulder and noticed that, whoever it was that was with her while she was unconscious, was trying to slash her in her sleep. I noticed a dead man on the floor covered in blood from the head. I could only guess that someone had helped me and shot this bastard in the head. I looked around for something to alleviate the pain but all I saw was gauze nearby on a metal tray. After covering the wound I had as best as I could, I immediately left the room and noticed that I was back in the same top floor where I almost started to begin with.

I knew where to go this time and I ran as fast as I could towards the stairs with the big window. Once reaching it, I paused for a moment as I saw the full moon outside, reflecting off the sun's light towards Earth. For a moment I felt some sort of peace within me and calmed myself a bit until I heard footsteps coming from the hallway I came from. I couldn't see who it was because the light wasn't bright enough to illuminate the hallway, but I did manage to catch the sight of a knife in its hand. The moment I saw it, I only had enough time to grab the person by the throat, inserting my claws into him, and tossing him out the window to fall to its death down below. I looked over the window to take a clearer look at the person, noticing it was a boy in his late teenage years.

It wasn't long until I heard the evil sounding voice again, "Ha... Its funny... a teenage boy almost killed you. He was out of control... I killed his parents and let this one go for the time being until he entered one of my rooms that had another person in it. Too bad he lost his mind and ended up killing the other that was in the room with him." At this point I found the voice rather annoying telling me all this crap I really didn't care for much and said, "If you're trying to scare me or something... you just lost my fear because I am not scared anymore."

Evil laughter filled the hallways as I ran downstairs with a growl, getting really upset over this moron who thought it was easy to scare me. When I reached that emergency exit door, I went on kicking it as hard as I could with a loud yell until it finally slammed open. I started to descend the stairs slowly, careful for any holes or lose steps that might break away. I thought I was going to make it to the first floor but I should've known better when the stairs suddenly closed on themselves to create some sort of slide. I only muttered, "Oh shit," as I started to slide down nonstop, going past the first floor, all the way to the basement. As soon as I landed hard on the floor, I looked back up to see that the stairs ended right at the door which was high up almost touching the ceiling with no way back.

I tried to get up after my head stopped spinning for a moment only to find that I couldn't move at all. Looked at what I landed on and could only see some sort of black goo that really had me stuck to the floor. I looked around to see what I could to pull myself out of it and noticed a pole just barely at my reach. I managed to pull my way out of the stuff. I had no idea what it was and went back to where I fell out from, which was a door that was about more than ten feet high.

After a few attempts at jumping for it, I gave up and started looking for another solution. It wasn't until I started to focus my eyes to see in the darkness but for a moment I thought I saw a boy standing about twenty feet away from me. I looked again and this time I could see yellow glowing eyes looking back at me. I focused my eyes a little more until I could see a boy with black and orange fur over him. It was odd to see a young boy furre in this odd place but with no surprise, the voice returned, "Let's see if you kill this one. He's been here for a long while now and he could be dangerous. Maybe you should just kill him to be sure."

Needless to say I didn't even pay attention to him since this was just a mere boy. Then again who knew what this entity was planning and what the hell he was capable of. Although I decided to let it attack me first before I did anything but, fortunately it was a real boy as it stepped out into the little light that there was down here. The glowing of the eyes faded away as he came out of the light but I was somewhat relieved it was another furre such as me. He appeared to be somewhere in the ages of eight or twelve and was of canine furre.

"Please don't kill me..." said the boy. I immediately shook my head and said, "No... I'm not going to do anything. I promise... here take my hand." I extended out my hand to him and he hesitated at first but took my hand, giving him a small hug for comfort. "What's your name and where's your family little one?" He looked up to me and returned the hug while saying, "I don't remember... My family was killed in this building." The moment I heard those last words I knew I shouldn't have asked where his family was, knowing full well they must've been killed as this made him start to cry. "D-don't cry little one. Listen, I need you to be strong for me and I am going to get us both out of here. Okay?" He looked up to me and nodded his head and said, "This voice keeps calling me Broken Toy but I don't know why."

I could only guess that whatever this entity was, he was trying to mess around with his head. I felt something different about this child but there was no time to dwell on the thought as we started to look around until I heard the entity speak up, "You know kids always lie... You should kill him while you still have a chance and he might kill you when you least expect it." In my mind I sort of spoke towards him, Yeah right... people like you lie, not this innocent child. It was obvious that this entity just wanted more chaos but I was determined to put a stop to it.

I looked around and started to rummage through junk after junk of furniture and boxes filled with papers for anything that may be of use. "Tell you what, if you kill the boy I will grant you the freedom out of here," said the voice. I definitely ignored him this time and I wasn't about to let him get to me. I looked for a moment, seeing a hole through the roof which led into some room. I started to gather anything that could be stacked and started to pile it up in order to reach that hole. Of course because it was nothing more than a pile of junk, the stack collapsed many times until I was finally able to keep it stable, long enough for the boy and myself to climb out.

I took the boy unto my back and made sure he held tightly as I began to climb the stacks. One of the boxes flattened and I almost lost my grip but I managed to keep going. I gave out a small growl from the annoying voice that was telling me to drop and kill the boy, which was the last thing on my mind. Looked over my shoulder to make sure he was fine and noticed something was wrong. His nose was starting to bleed and I immediately knew this entity was the cause of the pain. I started to move quicker the movement I felt his grip on me start to loosen little by little and starting to cry from the pain in his head.

"You're going to kill him one way or another," said the voice along with a chilling laughter that echoed through the darkness. At this point I shouted angrily towards the darkness, "At least he'd be free from you and this place one way or another, dead or not!" I was so angry at this point but when I finally managed to get out, I placed the boy on the floor for a moment to check him over. He kept screaming and crying in pain and there was nothing I could do. I immediately picked him up and carried him towards the door, kicking it open and running towards the end of the hallway, hoping it would be the exit while whispering to him, "Just hang on little one... We're almost there..."

Something began to happen to me which I didn't expect when I finally saw the exit, I began to feel faint. My strength started to drain and my body began to feel very heavy. I was exhausted from the climbing and running. Then, I fell towards the floor losing consciousness just a few feet away from the exit. I fought a losing battle against it as I watched in the corner of my eye that someone was coming. The child had already fainted from so much pain and I only hoped that he had not died. I heard the voice speak towards this incoming person, "Kill them both... useless freaks." I could see him picking up the kid and drag me into some sort of torture room, afterwards, I lost consciousness completely.

[NOTE: Unfortunately this story will remain unfinished as it was done years back and moved on to other things.]
