The Strange Umbreon And TheSadness Of The Heart
I have fixed most of the spelling and grammar in this so it should be fine now. although there is this one part that doesn't make any sense at all but I could not find it. Well Enjoy! =)
July 2011: Hey guys just editing the first four chapters a bit, no more huge random gaps between each sentence. Anyway, chapter 5 should be done by the end of this week. (3 days) I could't get rid of the bolding on this chapter for some reason, so sorry. >.< But I did make the font smaller so it isn't as bad.
Chapter One
Birth
The grass was cool against her paws as she ran with her egg in her weakening jaws. She was a female umbreon with sleek black fur and sea blue eyes. But she was different from most umbreon, she had purple rings other than yellow.
"I can't... I can't do this for much longer." She heavily panted. As she continued to run uphill, a cliff came into view and there was someone on it. It was what looked like an umbreon. "It'll have to do..." She panted. As she got closer to the cliff the umbreon noticed her running toward him.
"Hey are you alright?" The umbreon shouted as he noticed that the female umbreon was hurt. As he ran down to meet her she suddenly collapsed in the dirt, this made him sprint toward her. When he got to the place where she had collapsed he noticed that she had an egg in her jaw. (huh shes a mother?) He
thought.
"Pl... please..." She panted as she took hold of the male umbreons leg. "...Will you take care of my egg?" She finished still panting. She kept hold of the male umbreons leg waiting for a response.
He did not know how to respond, taking care of a baby... He had never even had children of his own before. As his thoughts conflicted he looked over the female umbreon. She was severely wounded and looked close to death. He had made his decision. "A-Alright I will take care of your egg for you..., but what is your name?" He questioned nervously.
"Yu... Yume." She said with one final breath. Her eyes began to close slowly. The last thing she heard made her smile... "Alright". Her eyes closed and her paw released its grip on the male umbreons leg and the egg in her jaws. The egg rolled besides the male umbreon.
(Yume....) He thought as he picked up the egg in his jaws and started to walk back into the forest. He approached his den and set the egg down in a pile of moss in the corner. he lay down beside the egg to keep it warm. And, fell asleep.
The next day early in the morning.
He yawned as he awoke feeling groggy. He got up and paced around his den. Then, he remembered the egg. He darted to the pile of moss in the corner where he had slept and also left the egg. "Oh good its still here." He said panting. "I have to go get some breakfast, but I cannot leave the egg here..." He thought for a moment. "Thats it!"
He ran outside, a few minutes later he came back with a mouth full of leaves. He dropped the leaves on the ground and started to cover the egg in the leaves he had collected. When he finished a few minutes later he sighed in relief and looked over his work. "There, that should keep it warm until i get back." He said with a smile on his face. "now to find some breakfast." He said as he set out to look for some food.
After what seemed like an hour of trying to catch some fish he decided to settle for some berries. As he started his short trek back to his den he heard something no, someone. He looked behind him and saw chatot, the kings advisor. "Why hello there chatot!" He said in a muffled voice caused by the berries in his jaws.
Chatot laughed a bit before saying hello to umbreon. "say, thats a bit more food than I usually see you with umbreon, anything special?" Chatot questioned. Chatot tilted his head waiting for an answer.
Umbreon thought for a moment, (should I tell him about the egg or not... No not yet.) He decided. "No nothing special, I just felt a bit more hungry than I usually do." He said making sure not to sound to nervous.
"Well then I must be off, goodbye Umbreon." Chatot said in a rush. "oh i hope I am not to late!" He panicked as took flight toward king Kyurone`s Den.
That made Umbreon chuckle a bit before remembering the egg. He dashed back to his den with the berries still in his jaws only to see a good portion of the leaves on the other side of the den. He panicked a bit, but found the egg unharmed. (It must have been the wind.) He thought reassuring himself that the egg was alright. Umbreon set the berries down and ate only as much as he needed. Setting the extra berries aside he lay beside the egg.
Days passed and still the egg showed no sign of hatching. Umbreon would go out to collect berries and occasionally he caught a fish or two.
He laidbeside the egg half asleep when he thought he saw the egg glow. He ignored it at first as it must`ve been his imagination. It started to glow for longer periods of time every time. Thats when he knew the egg was ready to hatch. He got up and grabbed some berries he had stashed away for just this occasion. He set the berries down next to the egg and waited. He sat there for what seemed like forever when the egg lit up and stayed that way. He stared at the egg eagerly awaiting what was to happen. Suddenly the egg started to change its form from an oval to a more dog-like appearance and from that to the form of a small Evee.
The glowing stopped and before him a newly hatched male Evee. "Well now what do I do?" Umbreon asked himself. Just then the Evee's stomach gurgled which alerted him that something was wrong.
Evee grew more scared every time his stomach growled. This made the big black creature laugh, Evee did not understand so he just made little barking noises at the black creature who was much biger than himself.
"alright alright, I will get you some food." Umbreon chuckled. He kicked a berry toward the little Evee and encouraged him to eat the round thing that was just a bit smaller that him. He watched as the Evee tried biting the small round berry but having no success. "Oh you do not have any teeth do you... hmmm. Oh maybe this will help." He said as he placed the berry on some leaves and stepped on the berry with his paw. The Evee came over and sniffed the crushed berry and started to nibble on it. It was not the best thing to give him but it would do since he was not a female.
One month later...
Umbreon arrived back at his den with a jaw full of berries, he dropped them where he and Evee usually eat and called for Evee to wake up. Evee's ears perked up and he yawned. "Man am I hungry!" He complained as he made his way to Umbreon. "What kind of berries today dad?" He asked exitedly.
"Oran berries today!" He sad with a smile. "Now common lets eat!" He said before biting into a berry. He watched as Evee still had a little trouble biting into berries as not all his teeth have grown yet. Umbreon chuckled a bit and continued eating.
Later that day...
"Dad why do not I look like you, all the other pokemon look like their parents ever since they got bigger?" Evee questioned with a stern look on his face. He sat there waiting for a response form his father. "Dad hellooo, earth to dad!" He said getting frustrated.
Umbreon finally answered. "Huh, oh well it's because you still have not evolved yet son."
He sighed as he thought about Yume. (No I cannot tell him yet he is to young still.)
"Well then how do I evolve?" Evee asked anxiously.
"Well it is about that time of year again." Umbreon said as he looked outside to see the full moon. "Alright, follow me then." He said as he started toward a blue-grey cliff face. Evee followed him more eager than ever now.
"Are we there yet?" Evee panted as he was stumbling all over the place.
"Yep, here we are son the lunar cliff." Umbreon said with a big grin on his face.
"Great now how can I evolve!?" Evee said excitedly as he bounced all over the place and one time almost falling clean off the cliff face.
"Alright, if you want to evolve into an Umbreon like me then you must use the moon." He said staring up at the full moon.
"Huh, the moon?" Evee asked, confused from what Umbreon said.
"Yes concentrate and use the moon son." He said as he watched the month old Evee walk to the edge of the cliff and close his eyes. Almost falling asleep at one point Umbreon finally said as he picked up the Evee by the scruff. "Okay lets go son, your obviously not ready to evolve yet."
"Nooo!! I'm ready let me go!" Evee yelled as he bit Umbreon causing him to lose his grip and drop him. Evee ran back up to the cliff and tried again. But no luck.
Umbreon sighed as this could take awhile. At one point he went to get some berries and offered some to Evee but he rufused. (How long will he sit there...) Umbreon thought getting tired with each passing minute.
It had been three hours since but Evee would not Give up. He noticed that Umbreon had almost fallen asleep. But at that moment he started to glow a bright white. "Hey dad I think its happening!" Evee shouted at the half asleep Umbreon behind him.
"Oh so it seems so!" Umbreon said in relief. He watched as the Evee`s body began to change shape to that of a small Umbreon. When the evolution was complete the glow dimmed and in front of him now a small Umbreon. But he was different, he had blue rings other than yellow. (He probably got that from his mother, she was shiny too. But that might be a problem... No the king should be fine with him in the forest I have nothing to worry about.) He thought ignoring the newly evolved Umbreons cheers of joy.
"Dad look I'm like you now! See see, look!" The newly evolved Umbreon cheered happily.
"Yes I see, and I know the perfect name for you too! Chase." Umbreon said as He laughed at Chase's cheers
"Chase? Why Chase dad?" Chase questioned.
"Because. You like to chase your dreams." Umbreon said more than glad to answer his question.
"Oh, okay then dad!" Chase cheered as the two Umbreon made their way back to the den.
