DINING IN THE LYLAT SYSTEM

Episode 14: SLIDERS (PART 2) or CRISIS ON INFINITE KRYSTALS

Written by EDWIN A. RABBIT

"Feedee's log, addendum. I was on Venom, and I chased an enemy soldier through a gateway called the Portable High-Accuracy Teleporter, or PHAT. I thought the PHAT would transmit me to Corneria.

"It did. But I don't see my enemy anywhere. Instead, I find myself at a picnic on a nice day. On top of that, I'm several months pregnant with no recollection of it. What did the PHAT do?"

Fox McCloud smiled as he set a plate of miniature burgers on the table before Krystal. She sat on a bench. "Here you go. Hopefully you can enjoy these sandwiches!" Fox chuckled.

Krystal wasn't sure why that would be funny, but she forced a convincing laugh to fit in. "Positively," she said.

She put a hand to her belly. It had bloomed into a full globe, swollen with her and Fox's offspring. She wore a maternity shirt that buttoned tastefully along the rounded arc of her stomach. She'd left the top few buttons open so that her plump breasts had room to breathe. Their thick cleavage was pressed shut in her top. Below, her thighs were chunky handfuls, and her rump was bubbly, hanging just a tad off of the back of the bench.

Fox put a hand on her broad thigh and smooched her on the cheek. Arousal welled within her. He walked back to the grill.

Fox was chatting with Peppy Hare, an old combat buddy of Fox's. Krystal saw that she shared a table with Lucy Hare. The pink-furred hare was slender and dressed casually. In this reality, she had never packed on hundreds of pounds in a biology experiment.

"Lucy," Krystal started, "I've got an astrophysics question."

"Go ahead and shoot!" Lucy responded cheerfully. At least she was still the astrophysics PhD that Krystal knew.

Krystal said, "So we have the Beltino Orbital Gate for teleporting space ships vast distances instantly. Has anyone ever tried teleporting just a single person?"

Krystal bit into a burger. She'd always enjoyed a good meal, but this was something else--the juices and flavors overwhelmed her. She felt suddenly ravenous. She scarfed that down and a second one, wolfing them in two swift bites each.

Lucy replied, "No, that wouldn't really work. The orbital gate converts matter into energy and transmits it. The less mass something has, the less energy there is to transmit, meaning it's hard to maintain accuracy."

Krystal paused. "So what would happen if I just walked through the gate on my own?"

Krystal loved the burgers, but she had a deep need for something else. Her eyes scanned the table and saw a jar of pickles with tongs. Eureka, she thought. She plucked one and popped it whole into her mouth. The crisp, refreshing snap; the luxuriously salty taste; the cool but biting vinegar juice... Krystal was entranced.

Lucy considered Krystal's question. "I'm not sure. You might transmit your atoms to your destination, but I can't guarantee they would all get put back together correctly. My guess is that it would effectively disassemble you on a microscopic level."

Krystal gulped another pickle. It sounded grim. And yet, here she was. Luckily, the PHAT had not diassembled her. But it definitely had not been accurate when teleporting her.

Lucy continued, "You might be able to compensate for the lack of mass if you contributed some energy. Something like a catalytic explosion."

An explosion...? It clicked. That was how she'd teleported. Krystal said, "Like a burp."

Lucy sputtered with laughter. She had a hard time maintaining courtesy in the face of such a ridiculous idea. "Um, kind of, yeah. Maybe more like the combustion from an engine, but along those lines."

Krystal started another small burger. Fox sat next to her. "Does our boy like my grilling?" he asked.

Krystal swallowed. "He loves it," she answered.

Fox picked up a burger and brought it to her lips. She took small, gentle bites, and she gazed into Fox's eyes. She rubbed her protruding belly, overcome by feelings for Fox and the child she carried. The love she shared with Fox grew within her.

She finished the burger. "Can you pass the pickle jar?" she asked.

Fox gave her the jar. She poured all of its brine into a plastic cup. Then, she downed the cup of pickle juice. She licked her lips, satisfied. Her gut burbled, and gas escaped her mouth. "Buuoooorrp!" she burped.

"Excuse me," she said, putting down a half-finished mug of beer. The bartender, a wispy little pidgeon, paid her no mind.

Just like that, she found herself in a dingy, poorly-lit saloon. She sat on a floating bar stool. A holographic display above the bar tried to show the G-Zero Grand Prix, but its signal was scratchy, and images came through partial and stuttering.

Her pregnant tummy had been replaced by a sculpted set of ab muscles, and her formerly soft arms now popped with rippling biceps, matched by bulging brachioradialises on her forearms near her elbows. Her inner thighs were lined with powerful adductors, and her dense quads accentuated the curve of her hips. Her breasts were the only soft part of her body.

She wore a flexible but skin-tight material designed for hand-to-hand combat. Her top was cerulean, with black breast cups, armbands, and pants. A blaster was holstered in her belt, and she sat on a stool at the bar.

"Bartender!" she called. "Get me an order of burgers... tiny burgers."

The pidgeon raised his brow. "Sure thing, four sliders coming up."

Sliders, that was the name for them. Krystal made note of it.

As soon as they were served up, Krystal heard the whoosh-click of the bar door opening behind her. "Kursed!" a nasally voice called.

Krystal reached for a slider, but a zap of a laser shot the bar next to her.

The bartender ducked down, and a metallic shutter closed over his side of the bar. Krystal turned to see a lithe weasel clad in an armored vest and pants lined with pockets.

He held a gun, aimed at the hip at Krystal. "I can't let you enjoy that sandwich, Kursed," he said.

Alright, so now my name is Kursed, Krystal thought. She drew her own gun and aimed at the weasel, looking down the gun's sights with her eyes. "Maybe you should," she said. Without turning, she swiped a slider from behind her and shoved it whole into her mouth.

She fired first, but the damned weasel dodged it. He was lightning fast. She scrambled to cover in a booth, and he fired, scorching the floor next to her.

After that, she pounced out of cover and grabbed the weasel. His gun clattered out of his hands. She wrapped her arms around his chest and pulled him in tight, crushing him between her firm, muscular arms and her soft, pillowy breasts. The weasel gripped her forearms and pushed, but Krystal's arms didn't budge.

Krystal spoke. "Now let's be rational--" She was cut off as the weasel popped himself up and out of her grip.

He landed on all fours and clambered across the floor to his gun. Just as he grabbed it, Kystal sat on his back, pinning him to the floor. She clenched her thick, burly thighs around his skinny weasel neck. She said, "I can keep this up all day, or you can tell me what this is about."

The weasel strained to talk with her legs tight over his neck. "Let's--grrk--try that second option."

She parted her legs and leaned down to clutch him in a half nelson, passing her arm under his armpit and locking her hand on his neck. She stood with him in tow, with his body dangling in her grip, and she walked back to the bar. While one arm held the weasel, her other arm grabbed a slider. She finished it off in two bites.

"I'ng lishening," she said through a full mouth. She swallowed and took another slider. The bar opened again, and the pidgeon bartender slowly popped up his head again.

The weasel said, "It's my brother, Pete. He's none too happy about the bounty you took last week." He squirmed, squished against her muscle-bound form. Her firm, taut body gripped him tight.

Krystal had no idea what this weasel was talking about. She bullshitted while chewing, "Oh yeah? Word dravelsh fasht, doeshn' id?" She swallowed and took the last slider.

The weasel went on spilling his guts. Krystal drifted into thought. Her body here tossed around this weasel so easily, like a toy. She did find a certain thrill in her thick, powerful body. She could rip out the bar if she wanted. She wondered what impact her strengthened arms, abs, and thighs could have on night time activities. She glanced at the holographic projection, now showing Fox McCloud holding a G-Zero trophy over his head. The last slider passed down her throat as a new hunger mounted within her.

Still zoning out the weasel, Krystal shotgunned the last of her beer. She slammed down the empty mug and burped, "bwwwooOOO--"

* * * * *

"--OOOuuurrp."

Krystal had swapped bodies and places once again. Now, she found herself swaddled in fat. Again she wore a skin-tight blue material, but this time with the Starfox winged fox branding. Her breasts spread far and wide before her, cresting at an arm's length from her chest. She could feel her billowing waist press against the sides of her seat. She realized she could feel her thighs under her stomach, and then her knees, and then her calves. She pulled up her toes and realized those pushed up her belly, too. Her gut must have covered her entire front. She couldn't see that for sure, though. When she looked down, pushing her jaw into her doughy chin, she could only see the vast peaks of her tits.

She sat in some kind of spacecraft flying through space. Looking around her, she realized she was in an upgraded version of her Cloud Runner fighter. She recognized her view, but couldn't see the controls anywhere. In her sights was a Mirage Dragon, a long, fierce drone ship that snaked through space spewing rocks and shooting lasers.

Fox came in over the radio. "I'm glad you had a good lunch, Krystal, but please try not to burp on the comm channel. It's, erm, distracting."

Krystal blushed. She had blasted that belch out to her wingmates? Then she realized her hands were tucked under her breasts. She pulled them up, shifting her boobs, and saw that each pudgy paw held a wireless controller: sky blue in her right and bright red in her left. She saw the radio button on the blue one. She felt bashful as she concluded her breast must have been pushing it down without her awareness. "My mistake, Fox," she said.

Speaking of lunch, she saw one of the buttons on the red controller was labelled with a hamburger icon. She pressed it, and a metallic, multi-jointed arm emerged from the cockpit above her head, pinching a slider. It presented the slider to her mouth. She opened her mouth, and the arm placed it gently inside. After she clamped her lips on the slider, the arm retreated. Now this was service! She chewed, mashing jaw against double chin and wagging her bubbly cheeks.

The Mirage Dragon's serpentine head rocked with laser fire. It recoiled and turned away. A holographic projection of Lucy Hare's head appeared in Krystal's peripheral vision. "Got it. Its (hic) defenses are lowest at its cranium," she said. Her own face was bunched up in creases and folds of fat that jostled with her hiccup. Lucy's fighter, the Sky Bunny, was a rounded pink craft with cutesy ears. It zoomed through Krystal's view.

Krystal took another slider. These were actually pretty good--the meat was juicy, the cheese was sharp and melty, and the bun was just slightly crispy on the outside. She gulped it down happily.

More laser fire struck the Mirage Dragon's head. Now Amanda Toad's head appeared over the comm with a neck like an inner tube of lard. "ScoURRP--Score!" she said. "Eheh, please excuse me."

The Mirage Dragon turned away and retreated. Krystal bit down on another slider and pushed up on the joystick under her right thumb. This opened her ship's throttle fully. She gave chase.

Fox said, "It's getting away. None of us can get a clear shot at its head. Is there any way to damage its hull from the rear?"

Lucy answered, "Krystal's Cloud Runner has piercing fire. It should be enough."

Krystal swallowed and took another slider. The dragon turned its head and shot an energy beam at Krystal. She jerked her controllers to the left, swerving her ship and flinging the chunky flab on her forearms and biceps. They slapped against her spacious breasts, and her ship evaded the beam.

The dragon followed that with a volley of space rocks. Krystal hefted her left foot up, squishing her upper belly into her breasts and shifting them to the side, slumping them against each other and against the right side of her cockpit. Meanwhile, her thigh was so overgrown with blubber that it hadn't parted from the seat below her; its plump fat was so voluminous it still touched her seat and scraped her other leg. Then, she leaned forward, gesturing her controllers downward to pull the Cloud Runner's nose upward. This pushed her arms into her pillowy belly. She scrunched over her superfattened abdomen as tight as she could, compressing it into folds. Then, she slammed her left foot down, triggering the brakes. Her belly flopped back to the floor of the cockpit and jiggled in her lap as she steered her ship clear of the Mirage Dragon's debris.

Finally, she had an opening. She clutched the trigger on her blue controller, firing twin lasers into the tail end of the Mirage Dragon. It lurched along for a few moments before sundering with an explosion. She finished off one slider and started another.

"Great work, Krystal," Fox said.

"Fanfsh," Krystal responded through a mouthful of slider.

Fox chuckled. "I'll let you enjoy that sandwich and get back to you."

What a rush! Krystal swallowed her slider and took a deep breath. She was surprised how easily flying came back to her, in a body too fat for a dashboard no less. The wireless controllers were a joy.

She saw a water droplet icon on the red controller and pressed it. A tube descended into her mouth. Moments later, it pumped a few chugs of water into her. It was crisp and refreshing, perfect after a tense dogfight. The tube popped out of her mouth, and she felt that familiar stirring in her middle. "Mmbuuuuu--"

* * * * *

"--rrooorrrph."

Krystal didn't think she could have gotten fatter, but she had. She had become a staggering, nearly naked, five-foot-tall mountain of blubber. Two thick, sweeping helpings of pudge composed her breasts. Her puffy sausage fingers could not find the tip of her breasts. One hand held her jeweled staff. Two golden breast cups, each a foot wide, barely covered her areolas. Her boob flesh pressed against the cups like water ready to flood a dam. A golden thread linked the cups and ran under her arms, wedged between her heavy, floppy sideboob and deep, dense waist fold. Below, her stomach sloped outward, flowing gracefully to the ground before her. It gathered into deep, immense, furred creases as it rolled over her two-foot-high, four-foot-wide thighs. Her leg pudge thinned along her calves, ending in fluffy cankles that propped her feet off of the ground. She sat on an ass so jam-packed with lard that it served as two three-foot-high cushions, her twin-cheeked throne of blubber. Her fluffy tail rest over it below lovehandles thicker than pillows. Layers of adipose draped over her back; first her lovehandles, then two bands of fat that ran around her waist, and finally dense, rounded flab that cushioned her shoulder blades.

She sat in an ornate cave with strands of jewels hanging overhead. She saw Tricky the Earthwalker before her. He was a brown styracosaurus, now adolescent. "Krystal, you've got a visitor," he said.

"Bring them in," she ordered.

Tricky scampered outside. He returned with a fox clad in a pilot's jacket. He held a box in his arms.

"Fox McCloud," she said.

Fox stopped in his tracks. He was stunned by the galaxy-sized beauty before him. "Your highness," he said before pausing. He pulled himself together to ask, "How did you know my name?"

"I have my ways." Then, Krystal realized she had no idea what she was doing on Sauria; she was new to this body, after all. "Tell me, what have you heard of me?"

Fox gulped. "You are Krystal, the wide--I mean, wise arbiter of Sauria. You settle disputes between the dinosaur tribes of this planet, and travelers come from many other planets to seek your sage counsel."

Krystal liked the sound of that. "And do you come to ask my advice as well?"

Fox looked into her eyes. "No, I just... wanted to meet you."

Krystal had a thought. Had she grown this large on the local diets? Certainly, a vixen like her would have put on a few by eating like earthwalkers and redeyes. Then she noted the box he carried. "What do you hold?"

"There is a wise saying about you, your highness," Fox said. "As it goes, 'The arbiter of Sauria cannot enjoy her sandwich.' So, I bring you sliders, a customary Cornerian sandwich made of cattle meat."

Krystal wondered what this sandwich thing was about, why everyone in the multiverse had this notion that Krystal can't enjoy her sandwich. But she rolled with it. "It is tradition for visitors to feed me their edible gifts," she said.

"It is??" Tricky blurted.

"Yes, of course it is," she insisted. Krystal and Fox eyed each other hungrily.

But then Fox looked down. There was no way he could reach her mouth over the vast expanse of adipose that flowed forth in her stomach. "Your highness, with all due respect, I--well..." he stammered.

Krystal spoke. "Put your foot on my stomach."

Fox looked to her, not believing his ears.

Krystal said, "For the unjust, my stomach is the weighty sledgehammer of justice brought down on them. And for the righteous, my stomach is the soft, warm comfort in their time of need." And for her lover, she thought to herself, her stomach was the bed of their passion.

Fox planted an uneasy foot in the bottommost fold of her gut. It squished underfoot. He put a hand to her belly, and it sank into her plush fat. Finally, he leaned into her stomach and rest his whole body in her expansive fur. She was so broad, so soft, so inviting. He stretched an arm out and couldn't reach her navel. "Does every visitor get to put their foot on your stomach?" he asked.

"You are the first I have deemed fit, Fox," she said. "That is, Mr. McCloud."

His head rest on the edge of her breast. He put one foot up along her gut and dug in a few feet above the ground. With the box of sliders in one hand, he groped the top of her breast and pulled himself up. He laid the box on her chest, wedged his torso between her tits, and put each arm up on his sides to grasp her ginormous boobs using his entire armspan. He splayed his legs and locked his stance in footholds formed of folds.

"I hope you're hungry," Fox said.

"Very much," Krystal responded.

Fox opened the box and grabbed a slider. Krystal opened her mouth wide, spreading her chin under her jaw. He put the slider in her mouth, and she closed her lips. Fox's index finger lingered in place as she kissed it. Then, he pulled it to get another slider. Krystal chewed, and her cheeks bobbed sensually.

He fed her a second, third, fourth slider. Then, he hesitated.

Fox and Krystal locked eyes. Steadily, he drew his face closer to hers. Fox pulled his leg up to find a higher foothold and pull his face closer. The pressure sent a burble up her gut. Their lips were just about to touch, and she parted her lips, ready to kiss. Instead, she belched: "BUUWAAA--"

* * * * *

"OORRP!"

She laid face down on Jade the gorilla. Krystal wore a navy skirt and a navy blazer, the one that no longer buttoned over her stomach.

Jade. That's right, Krystal had followed the muscle-bound gorilla through that portal on Venom. Krystal was back in the body she knew, all 360-something spacepounds of it.

Jade pushed herself up, tossing Krystal onto the ground. Jade realized Krystal had followed her through the portal. But that was immaterial. Jade's job was to plant the bug and get out.

Jade swung a fist towards Krystal. She rolled aside, narrowly dodging it.

They were in a dark office with a window. Through the window was a cylindrical room. Its circular walls were lined with lights, but it was otherwise pitch black. Maybe a missile silo, Krystal thought. Maybe Jade was here to gather intelligence on Cornerian ballistics.

Jade opened a door and entered the other room. She stepped out onto a catwalk lining the wall. Her footsteps echoed on the thin metal grating under her boots.

Krystal got up and opened the door as well.

"Hold it!!" Jade yelled. She inched along the catwalk, taking careful steps. It creaked under her feet.

"No," Krystal said.

"Me 'n you, we gotta be over 800 spacepounds here. No way this floor holds both of us. And it's a long way down." Jade tried to sound tough, but her concern bled through.

"When I was sworn in as the chief diplomat of Corneria," Krystal said, "I took an oath. If this is how I keep that oath, then so be it."

She stepped onto the suspended platform. She looked down and couldn't see a bottom. The platform creaked sharply before snapping. The metal grate under her feet collapsed, cast into the seemingly bottomless hole below. She grabbed a nearby railing and hung from it. Jade fell, too, and clutched a railing--only it cracked from her weight. She fell downward into the abyss with a terrifying howl.

A chubby, aged hare stuck his head out the open door, Peppy Hare. He wore full grey military garb, decorated with plenty of medals. He was the leading general of the Cornerian army, in this reality at least. "What in tarnation--"

"Peppy!!" Krystal yelled, holding onto the railing next to the door for dear life. She could feel every pound, every ounce of chub drag her downward.

She reached out a hand, and Peppy clasped his hands around hers. He kept her steady as she swung a foot back into the doorway.

She pulled herself in and came to stand on solid ground again.

"Secretary Krystal," Peppy said, "I thought you were on Venom."

Krystal spoke as she caught her breath. "I was. Can you tell me where I am?" Her melon breasts shuddered up and down as she drew breaths.

"Silo 64," Peppy answered. "If I'm honest, you don't have the security clearance to be here. How did you get in?"

"There are a few things I need to tell you."

"I reckon so," Peppy said.

"Can we do it over lunch?" Krystal asked. She added with a smile, "I didn't really get to enjoy my sandwich."

"Um. Yes, that's a fine idea," Peppy responded. Krystal realized she was making a reference only she would understand.

* * * * *

Much later, Krystal had retired to her and Fox's condominium on Corneria. She was in the bedroom, lights off, overlooking the night skyline. She was naked and freshly dried from a bath.

"Feedee's log, starweight 360.03. My diplomatic trip to Venom did not go as expected."

Krystal's aquamarine eyes scanned the dark cityscape she'd examined a million times, and her blue ears heard the familiar central air conditioning. Her indigo bangs were a bit tousled, but nothing a good comb wouldn't straighten. Her white muzzle was fluffy, with plump cheeks and a pillowy double chin. Its flab padded her neck.

"After chasing the spy from Venom through the PHAT portal, I ended up careening through multiple realities. I experienced life as myself, yet in alternate circumstances. I don't understand the experience, much less how to explain it."

Her breasts rest heavy atop her belly. Each was more than a handful. When they were free like this, they strained her back. But the cool air felt nice along their buxom surface, tickling their white fur.

"At any rate, I am back home now. I stopped Jade, the spy from Venom. She seemed to tumble to the bottom of a secret military silo on Corneria, but her body was not recovered. She could still be out there. However, a sweep of the silo has confirmed that she did not plant any bugs.

And her paws stroked her belly idly. It was truly tubby, widening her waist. Its lower roll rest on her thighs and covered her portly mound. She ran her hands over its wide surface, then under it; her underbelly had filled out so well that she could put both hands under it and hide them. Then, she examined her belly button. Her stomach squished it flat, and she could fit her middle finger up to its second knuckle.

"I told Peppy Hare that Jade and I had teleported from Venom to Corneria using the PHAT. I also told him about Dash Bowman's claim that he had stolen the PHAT schematics from the Cornerian military. Peppy denied any knowledge of such a device. I did not tell him about my multiverse experience."

Meanwhile, her hips were even wider. Her weight gain had stretched out the sun tatoo on each hip, and they were delicately dimpled. Her rump billowed behind her, full and globular, jutting out over thighs that were thick themselves. Her hefty, blue-furred thighs rubbed blubber against one another.

"I am concerned that this will tip us into war."

Her calves were chunky and rounded, too. Her bare toes enjoyed the soft carpet.

"For now, though, I am glad to be home."

The bedroom's door slid open. Fox walked in. He put his arms around Krystal's fluffy waist and smooched her plump cheek.

He said, "Hey, Babe."

Krystal soaked in his firm embrace around her padded figure. "Hi," she said. "Fox, I love you."

"I love you too. Peppy told me you had a huge day. You were on Venom, then..." He stopped and thought. "Let me get dinner started. Want to talk about it?"

"I'd like that," she said, "but hold me just a little longer."
