#5 of A Spare in the Trunk

Jack and Lys do some shopping and then one thing leads to another. This took far longer to write and edit than I expected for reasons that will become obvious. Trying to write a satisfying love scene without ruining the feel of the story has proven to be a challenge and I do not know if I have succeeded. Ultimately that's up to the reader to decide so feedback is very welcome.

After getting said feedback I went and edited it a bit more, hopefully it's a touch more satisfying.

A rush of air-conditioned breeze fled through the open door and out into the damp. The scent of hot dogs, nachos, and cleaning agents rode along with it. People browsed the shelves for their next dose of sugar and caffeine.

"Go ahead," Jack said. Timidly, Lys stepped inside. She held her claws together and watched the customers. Towards the back she could hear the sound of a raido coming from the kitchen. The glass door closed behind them. Lys grunted as she tried to pry her toeclaws off of the doormat.

"What is this?" The kobold scowled at the rug.

"It's to keep people from tracking rain inside."

"Sure it not to keep kobolds out?"

Before he could answer, a man with graying hair slapped his hand on the counter. "Morning Jack. Run out of cigarettes already?" He reached behind him, pinching a hardpack in his fingers.

"Nah, just showing my friend the amazing sights."

"Your friend?" The cashier glanced around before leaning over the counter. "Woah." He double backed. "Man, wasn't expecting that." The clerk laughed and scratched his head. "Well, so long as they don't cause any trouble."

"Lys won't," she said.

He raised his eyebrows and then smiled. "Damn, don't that beat all. Hey Earl, come and check this out." The man stepped back towards the kitchen. Lys looked more than a little perplexed. A large man with an apron stepped out, covered in flour.

"Yeah, what is it?" He saw Lys standing there. "Oh hey. Catch it outside going through the dumpster?" the big guy laughed. Lys shrunk away and looked up at Jack for guidance.

"No, this is Jack's friend." The cashier said.

"Ha, Jack has a friend?"

"Yeah, a kobold. He's moving up in the world." The cashier looked down at Lys. "Just so you know, Jack is a good guy. No matter what everyone else says about him. They never proved he shanked that cyclist last year." The old cashier laughed at his own joke. Meanwhile the big guy gave Lys a quick wave before going back into the kitchen.

"He's messing with you, I think," Jack said in his defense. Lys's eyes were wide as saucers. Digging her claws into his pant leg she seemed overwhelmed. Jack started having second thoughts. "Going to be alright?"

She looked into his eyes for a moment, her scaly lips twitching. "I think so. Just not expecting everyone to be talking to me," she mumbled. Jack had forgotten how animated the guys at the stop-and-rob could be.

"It's all in fun and you kind of stick out."

She relaxed her grip. "Jack has a point." The kobold took a deep breath.

The older guy glanced out the window, checking the cars at the pumps. "Good thing the manager isn't in today. He's been really pissy lately. Said there's some kobolds hanging about here, raiding the dumpster. I guess last night one of them threatened a customer."

"That guy is always pissy," Jack groaned. The guys during the day were pretty laid back save for the manager. By now everyone in the store was staring. Whispers and odd looks all around. Trust was hard to come by when almost everyone in your group acted like a criminal.

Lys shrunk back again. "What should I do?" she whispered.

"Smile,' Jack suggested.

The kobold paused for a moment before giving all of her spectators a big toothy grin. Some chuckled and smiled back. Others found a renewed interest in finding something to buy. The two of them started walking down one of the aisles. "Never been in a store before, any store. Feels cold here." She kept eyeing the racks full of colorful packages.

"That's just the air-conditioning."

She examined each thing, shoving her snout into every bag and packet. "Hey, these things, I love these." Lys pulled a bag of pretzel bites (cheese filled) off the rack.

Jack looked at the bag in disgust. "Ugh, pizza flavored?"

"Yeah, they're great." Her tail started wagging as she clutched the bag. "Can Lys get these?"

"Sure, I guess." Jack mimed a gagging motion. He grabbed a bag of baked potato skins for himself and the two went down another aisle. The LEDs lining the cooler doors added reflective shine to the cans and bottles.

"Everything looks good," she said.

"Yeah, good lightning even makes those nasty vitamin waters look tasty," he chimed in.

"Lys has no idea what she...I want." The row of brightly colored cans in various shapes and sizes caught her eye. "What are these?"

"Energy drinks. Lethal doses of caffeine for people who have to work two jobs so they can afford the energy drinks they need to work two jobs," he said with a certain resignation in his voice.

"Sounds fun, can Lys get one of those?"

"Uhh, maybe we should start with something lighter."

"What about that?" She pointed up.

Jack reached for the upper shelves. "This?"

"No, that." She moved her claw to the left.

He gave up guessing and lifted her up. "Which?"

She snagged a bottle of green tea. Jack was about to put her down when she plucked a lemon tea next to it. "Do you even know if you like tea?"

"Won't know till I try."

He looked over their future purchases. "We're going to need a basket. Can you go grab one? They're by the door." Jack gestured to the front. Lys looked at the baskets as if they were miles away. "Want me to hold your hand?"

The kobold glared at him and tossed him the bottles of tea before heading for the stack. Lys was about to yank a basket when the electric door chime went off. A massive pair of muddy boots thumped inside. Lys followed them upward to a pair of faded jeans. Beyond that a puffy gut spilled over a cracked leather belt and from there she trailed a stained t-shirt shirt up to the collar, seeing what little she could --or couldn't-- of its owner. A thick bushy beard hid most of his face, but what little there she saw twisted into a scowl.

"What the? You guys know there's one of those lizard rat-bastards in here trying to steal your baskets? Get the hell out of here." The shaggy beard's voice was raspy and full of vinegar.

Jack dropped the tea and was already sprinting to the front. The basket fell to the floor with a clatter and Lys raised her hands in defense.

"Hey!"

His voice echoed to every corner of the store. The awkward silence and stares renewed and the walking beard turned his scowl to Jack.

"Ease up, she can be here," the cashier said, trying to recover the situation.

Jack recognized him, one of the local drunks. Faded tattoos lead all the way down to his thick, calloused hands, clenched into fists. His face, aged by alcohol, looked back and forth between Lys and Jack. "Lettin' animals in here now?" he said. The smell of cheap pilsner and cheaper chewing tobacco emanated off his breath. "Come in here for my coffee and have to put up with this shit." He gestured at the two of them.

"And she's not a 'lizard rat-bastard'," Jack snapped.

"She?" The shaggy man leered at the kobold. Lys took a step back. "How the hell could you even tell?" His countenance changed to a mock smile. Beard stomped over to the line of coffee dispensers and yanked a cup from one of the holders. Java began to pour while he kept shaking his head, faking laughter. "Sick..." he trailed off.

Jack ground his teeth together. A new anger welled up inside of him and he imagined hauling off and hitting the prick. Of course, he imagined being carted off to jail and leaving Lys alone. Thus, common sense won for the moment. He glanced at Lys only to find her look of fear changed to irritation. A snarl on her face revealed her pointed teeth.

The walking beard snatched a paper from the rack and slapped it on the counter along with his coffee. "Sure will think about comin' in here twice from now on..." the beard practically spat the words in Jack's direction.

"Good," Lys said.

"Whatdju say?" Loose change slipped from his weathered hand onto the counter before rolling onto the floor. Beard took a step forward and Jack moved to intervene. He stood an easy head above him and there was muscle under that flab. Yet, his righteous indignation melted away his fear. He was ready to protect Lys. The doorbell chimed again and both of them turned around to see a uniformed man, badge on his chest and gun on his hip. Jack shot the cashier a quick glance, but he shook his head.

The officer looked at both of them with a flat stare. "Morning. Is there a problem?"

The beard scooped up his loose change along with his purchases, a few droplets escaped from the allegedly spill-proof lid. "No problem," he grunted and then stomped out the front, but not before he gave Jack one last nasty glare.

"Yeah, no problem," Jack said, feeling relieved.

The officer watched the beard saunter off the lot. "Good." He went over and started pouring himself a cup of coffee when he gave Jack an odd look. "You're that guy I saw earlier on the street, was that a--"

"Kobold, yes."

"Huh. You with some kind of program or..." It was only then he noticed Lys standing behind Jack. She gripped his pant leg with one claw. "Hi there," the officer smiled and gave her a brief wave.

Her tail went stiff. "H-hi," she squeaked out.

The officer took a sip from his coffee and started doctoring it up with creamer. "Staying out of trouble?" he asked.

"You're not going to arrest us, are you?" Lys blurted out. Jack buried his face in his hands.

The cop laughed. "Not unless you've been doing something you shouldn't be. Have you?" His mellow tone put her more at ease.

"No, just here with Jack."

"We're friends. I decided to show her the joys of gas station cuisine," Jack said.

The cop picked up a box of glazed donuts with his free hand and made his way to the counter. "Well, we don't put people in jail for that. But whoever makes those hot dogs probably needs to be. You two have a good rest of your day." He nodded to them, paid, and strolled out. The kobold stood there looking dumbfounded.

"Lys, d-doesn't know what to say."

"Well, you might have wished him a good day too, but you were a bit floored," Jack said, tapping on her horn.

"Stop." She brushed his hand away. "What does 'floored' mean?"

"I mean you were in shock that he didn't slap you in cuffs and run you off to prison. I told you before you were fine."

"Fine this time."

Jack picked up the basket with a sigh. It was progress and he was thankful for that. He watched Lys collect herself and the two of them went back to shopping. He quickly found his basket full of chips, candy, and chocolate. "Suppose you're allergic to this stuff?" he asked.

"I'm not allergic to Kat-Kats."

"Kit-Kats."

"Whatever."

Loaded down with junk food, he piled it all up at the front and had the cashier ring him up. "Hey uhh, I guess I'll take that pack after all," Jack said.

Lys tugged at his leg, hard. "I don't want you to," she said firmly. Her eyes were full of a kind of worry he had never seen before. "Please don't."

He laughed nervously as did the cashier. "Why?" Jack asked.

"I don't want Jack to die."

"You've been watching too much TV."

Lys swatted his leg with her tail. "Doesn't matter. It said smoking kills and I don't want Jack to die!" She said it loud with deadly seriousness.

Stunned, he stood there for what seemed like an hour trying to figure out what to do. "You better get me some nicotine gum instead," he groaned to the cashier.

The graying clerk cracked a smug grin. "Got you off the smokes already. So, when's the wedding?"

"Shut up!"

***

The rain stopped just as they rounded the corner to the apartments. The bag full of sugary bounty swung back and forth in his hand, The day's adventure had come to an end. Jack stood at the base of the steps and noticed Lys wasn't there. He whipped back to see her limping towards him, teeth clenched and tail lashing.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, is just stiff and sore." Jack waited for her, knowing she'd snap at him if he tried to help, but watching her struggle made him worry he may have done some permanent damage that night on the road. "Well? Let's go inside. Lys cold and ready to sit." She brushed past him, grunting every step she made.

The front door yawned open. Jack shook the rain off his jacket and had Lys do the same before they went inside. He dumped the junk food onto the counter. Kit-Kats, M&Ms, soda. The thought of all of that sugar coursing through a small, energetic creature. It was going to be a long night. Up-ending the bag, the box of nicotine gum fell onto the counter with a dreaded plop.

It was going to be a long month.

"Hey, take off your coat before you sit down," Jack said.

Lys looked at him, downtrodden. "But I like my raincoat."

"Yeah, but it's still wet. What do you want for lunch?"

The kobold slipped out of the raincoat, setting it aside where he'd left his own jacket. She stood there, marveling at it a few moments more before sitting down. Today had gone far better than he'd expected even with the trouble from the local yokel.

"Lunch?" he asked again.

"More pizza?"

Jack opened the fridge and eyeballed the box. He didn't feel like cooking. "Right, pizza it is." One microwave ding later and Jack was motioning her to come sit at the table. He noticed Lys limping again. "You sure you're alright?"

She nodded. "Leg is just stiff from all the walking."

"Probably just need a rubdown," he said without really thinking about it.

"A rubdown?"

He took another bite out of his slice. "You know, like a massage." He gestured about, as if it would help.

"No, I don't know. What's a massage?"

"It's" --he set his pizza aside-- "when you rub down sore muscles, trying to get the tension out and stuff." Jack moved his hands in a slow circular motion. Lys tilted her head for a moment.

"Oh. You mean hidepressing." She clenched her fist and began rolling her knuckles back and forth on the table.

"Hidepressing?"

"Well, sometimes when kobolds get sore, we ask one another to 'press our hide'." She shrugged. "Haven't had anyone to press Lys's hide in a long time...why is Jack grinning?"

"Sorry, it just sounds so risqué."

She planted her claws on the table and looked up at him with a glare. "More words Lys doesn't know."

Now he was pinned. "It means...bawdy."

Her glare turned to confusion.

"Suggestive?"

"Suggest what?" Her yellow eyes drilled into him.

Jack kept moving his hand about, trying to explain. "Racy, spicy, sexual."

"S-Oh." The kobold ran a claw over her muzzle and all the way to the top of her horn, tugging at it slightly. "Lys gets it. Kobolds just do it to help each other. Humans do it for?"

"It can be just to relax, but it can also be intimate. Something special between two people."

Lys tapped her horn a few times and then nodded at him. An awkward silence hung in the air. He could see the kobold making sideways glances at him out of the corner of his eye, shifting in her seat. This was ridiculous, they'd already made out, why were they being so coy about it?

"Do you want me to 'press your hide'?" For a brief moment, he could have sworn he saw something there, something akin to hunger on her face, a flicker of a smile.

"Yes, L-I would like that," her voice sounded disinterested, but her tail betrayed her as it beat against the back of the chair. She began fiddling with her claws and made all the effort she could to avoid eye contact.

Jack savored the moment. It was nice to see her flustered for a change. "Go lie down on the bed. I'll clean this up." Jack watched her saunter off. While he tossed everything in the garbage, he noticed the box of nicotine gum sitting on the counter. The nagging voices of his ex-girlfriends, his parents, and Allison came echoing back. A teenage rebellion turned into a way to keep people at a distance. And more than one of his relationships had gone up in a cloud of secondhand smoke.

After opening the box, he pulled out a blister pack of gum. The bumpy foil flexed slightly under his finger. A kobold hiding in his car trunk had accomplished in a week what countless others had failed to do with years at their disposal. He looked around his apartment. Clean, and not just a little clean, not just with some garbage pushed under something, but clean. Like someone decent lived here. He looked back at the gum.

Probably tastes awful

"Is Jack coming?" Lys asked from the bedroom.

"Yeah, sorry, was just finishing up." The pack didn't want to go back into the box. He half-crushed it trying to get it back in before he gave up. Probably a sign from the cosmos, a sign of what he didn't know, but he could figure that out later. He had a kobold to massage. Lys was waiting on the edge of the bed.

"Has Jack done this before?"

Memories of his ex-girlfriends came back to him though he'd have preferred if his brain hadn't felt the need to defend his ego. "I've had some practice. No kobolds, of course."

Lys smiled. "Happy to be the first." She laid back on her side, her tail lazily twitched upward as she looked at him, waiting. He sat down and adjusted himself for the task.

"So, where's the trouble?"

Her claw drifted across the back part of her leg and thigh. "All of it aches, but somewhere in there is the worst. Stiffer all the time."

"Alright then, let me work my magic fingers." Gently, he laid his hands on her legs, the texture of her scales had grown a bit softer thanks to regular washing with a good soap, but they maintained a ruggedness that he liked. A small grunt escaped her lips as he applied pressure. "Well?"

"Little to the left."

"Okay, now?"

She made a small churring sound. "Eh, right."

For a small creature she had amazing muscles in her legs. Jack started to understand why a kobold might prize such a thing. Always needing to be ready to run at a moment's notice. And she could do some real damage with a well-placed kick if it came to that. He tested her muscles as much for his own curiosity as to her find her trouble spot. "How about now?"

Lys wiggled about. "Is okay, but not quite getting it. Go left again."

"If I keep going left or right, I'm going to be kneading the bed," he huffed.

"Well, isn't my fault Jack's 'magic fingers' are clumsy fingers."

"Well, it's not my fault you're picky."

With that Lys sat up and crawled toward him, like a predator. Jack watched her with just a hint of worry, but he was also coming to like that glint in her eye. She had a primal quality he'd never seen in any human he'd gone out with. Lys laid herself across his legs. "Maybe now Jack can do better," her voice carried a hint of suggestion.

He had to fight the terrible urge to start petting her like a cat. Focusing on her leg, he started using his thumbs in a circular motion pressing deeper into her scaly hide. "Better?"

The kobold grunted and hissed. "Getting...closer...ow..."

Jack slowed down, moving his thumbs upwards towards her hip, using her grunts and hisses for guidance. "And now?"

"Lys thinks...AH!" She jolted, knocking back his hands. "That's it," she hissed.

Slowly, he smoothed out the kobold's stiff muscles, turning grunts of pain into thrums of comfort. A smile crept across his face. He still had his magic touch. Moreover, he couldn't deny that he was enjoying this. It was hard to put in words how her warm thrumming made him feel. Like a purer expression of satisfaction, or love.

"Starting to feel much better,' she said with a half-lidded gaze. "Jack pretty good at this." Her tail lazily drifted back and forth, almost bonking him in the face. He worked her muscles for what seemed like hours, his fingers began to ache.

"Feeling better?"

"Yes, but..."

"But?" He braced himself for some kind of criticism.

She stretched and let out a yawn. "Can keep going if Jack wants." Her voice carried a nervous tone, but with a hint of invitation. The same kind of energy he felt the other night welled up inside of him as he went lower down her leg. The tiny amount of fat in her thigh vanished into pure muscle. The kobold's leg bent backward, into digitigrade feet. He continued to explore further until he reached her toeclaws, rubbing between the joints. "Does Lys have nice legs?" she asked.

He smiled. "The nicest pair of legs I've ever seen on a kobold."

"Ha! How many kobolds has Jack known?"

"Just you."

"Good," she said with a sense of satisfaction.

The scales between her toes felt almost jagged. "Getting jealous already? Afraid some other kobold hitchhiker will steal me away?"

"Mmmmm. Jack would find many mates once they found out how well he can hidepress."

His smile changed to a grin. "Well, I'm glad you found me first then."

She turned herself about, making Jack let go of her foot. "Why would Jack want to be Lys's mate? Hardly know each other and a mate always needs to bring something good to a tribe, what does Lys bring to Jack?"

"Well, you're cute."

"Ly-I, am being serious." She started to smile. "But thanks."

Jack scratched his head. "It's the kind of thing that's hard to put into words. I've started to like myself again. Hell, you got me on the gum." He rolled his eyes.

"How did I change that? The gum?" She tilted her head.

"The gum," he said with mock dread. "Most smokers try to quit some time or another and fail."

"But the gum makes you quit?"

He nodded. "The gum helps, but nobody ever got me to quit until now."

"Still don't understand, how does gum make me a good mate?" she mumbled.

He leaned down and gave her a peck on the snout. "When you meet somebody you really love, you're willing to do things for them you'd never do for anyone else."

Her yellow eyes grew misty and she took him by the hand. The inside of her palm was smooth like a snake's underbelly. "You love Lys enough to do all that?"

He gave her hand a slight squeeze and kissed it. "Yes," he said with a tone of certainty.

Lys sat up in his lap and licked him across the cheek. "I love you," she whispered.

Jack licked her across the snout, it felt pretty much the way he expected it would. He laughed. "Love you too, but human tongues aren't really made for that kind of kissing."

She draped her arms over his shoulders. "Kiss Lys your way then, I like that way."

The kobold pressed her mouth to his. The sensation of her scaly lips only lasted a moment before he was tasting the inside of her maw. Her sharp teeth made it tricky for him to do much else but press against her tongue. She pushed back on him; her claws dug into his shoulders as she lapped over the insides of his mouth. Her tongue coiled around his, like the night before. Better than the night before.

He felt no reservation, just a growing sense of desire as she stayed pressed against his lips. Her warm breath brushed his face and then she broke the kiss. Jack saw that hungry look in her eye again and he was growing to enjoy it. Lys gripped the edge of her shirt and lifted it off.

Something about her smooth, featureless chest still felt taboo. Perhaps wired into his human thinking. He took in the view of her smooth chest and that turquoise-blue coloration that traveled down her belly. It began as a mottled pattern, but grew stronger the lower it went.

Jack discarded his own shirt and enveloped her into his arms. The wonderful sensation of her scales against his skin was every bit as delightful as before. Just holding her made him feel content in a way he'd never known. She gave him something to protect and love in a way he'd never felt. Her morning and evening, her coming and going, all of it was important to him.

"So warm..." Lys nuzzled against his bare chest and inhaled deeply. The two sat in an embrace until Lys let out a whimper. He kissed her snout and worked his way down her scaly jawline, kiss by kiss. Her chin rested atop his head when he reached her neck. A gentle thrumming sent vibrations trembling down his back. If not for the desire welling up inside of him, he'd had been satisfied to stay like that all night.

But he needed more and he found it on her soft belly where he kissed her several times. Each kiss elicited a gasp from the kobold and her tail thumped against the bed. His cheek rested against her, taking in the sensation of her belly rising and falling. The warm feeling of the vibrations in her thrumming put him on edge. Her claws grasped at the open air while he started rubbing it in a circular motion. Something slithered up his arm, her tail wrapping itself around his wrist. "T-that's almost too good, Jack's hands are so soft."

He'd never thought of his hands as being soft, but he wasn't about to correct her. Instead, he continued to graze her belly. Little by little his hand drifted lower until it was just above the seam of her shorts. His pulse quickened and those yellow eyes stared at him through a half-lidded gaze. Jack hooked his fingers under the elastic. She lifted herself up off the bed making it easier for him.

Her shorts got caught on her toeclaws, slipping from his hands. Jack stared at them while they dangled like a lewd ornament. A multitude of potential ideas came to his mind until Lys kicked them off, bringing him back to the present. She laid there, completely bare. In that instant two questions were answered. The first was yes, that blue coloration went all the way down, becoming stronger as it went. The second, was quite baser. His eyes journeyed south until his gaze rested between her legs.

Lys watched him; arms folded across her chest. Her scaly muzzle had a look of embarrassment and she almost covered up. But as she watched him ogling it shifted to curiosity and then to an amused flattery. "Are Lys's holes really that interesting?"

"They're beautiful," he said without skipping a beat. "I mean..." He covered his face with his hand.

Lys laughed out loud while Jack turned beet red. "Never had anyone say that before, not that Lys ever had a mate." The kobold pulled herself up, wiping away a tear from laughing. "Well, very glad Jack is brave enough to see Lys naked. Now is Jack brave enough to let Lys see him naked?"

All at once he became a bundle of nerves, but something about it just added to the thrill. He started to unbuckle his pants when she stopped him. "No, you undressed me, I want to do it." She brushed his hands away and began undoing his jeans. He looked down at her and then away and then down again. It wasn't his first time, but it may as well have been. His jeans dropped to the floor, leaving his boxers which were already tenting. Lys hooked her claws into them and pulled.

Her predatory look vaporized. "Wow," she squeaked, almost tumbling backwards.

Jack snorted, her reaction brought him out of his nervousness. "Is that good 'wow' or bad 'wow'?"

Lys started doing that thing with her claws again, running them up and down her snout, tapping and tugging at her horns. "Is just, well. What Lys, I mean what I mean is that Lys-I've never seen a naked, well seen pictures, but...and big..."

"Never seen what now? What's big?" He placed his hands on his hips, trying to mimic a Greek god. "What happened to 'naked is naked'?"

She made a guttural grumbling sound and looked away in a huff. He was really enjoying this. "Family taught Lys about mateship, but it's different when it actually happens." Lys kept peeking at him from behind her claws. "And family never said anything about humans."

"And what's big?" he asked again. A smug grin on his face.

"You are."

Jack had always considered himself average, but he wasn't about to argue. Especially not with someone as small as she was. Instead, he sat himself down on the bed and wrapped his arms around her. "Well, if it makes you feel any better my parents didn't mention kobolds either." Jack planted a kiss on her head.

"Ha. Maybe that ugly man from the store was right. We are freaks." Lys shrugged before trailing a claw across his chest.

"I'm okay with it if you are." Jack let her indulge. Her scaly hands trailed down his chest while she continued to breathe in his scent, giving him the occasional lick. The kobold didn't stop there though. Her curious claws moved lower still. Jack braced himself.

"Be careful now."

"Of course, I'll be careful." The kobold trailed her tongue over his nipple, making him flinch with a gasp. His reaction wasn't lost on her and she began to tease them with her tongue. "Why do you have these?" Lys chuckled.

He tried to stroke her horns, but ended up gripping them several times instead. "For you to-Fft!"

Her slick tongue made him jolt with each stroke. As if that wasn't enough her clawed hand grasped him down below. The soft scales of her palm combined with her relentless tongue-lashing was almost enough to send him over the edge right there.

Lys paused, glancing at his chest and then down below. "Kobolds are a little, different." She brushed his length with her claw, a curious look on her face.

"That's okay," he said breathlessly. Her hands moved in awkward fashion, but it hardly mattered, every touch sent waves of pleasure through him as he tried to maintain control. Slowly, she brushed her claws up and down.

"Is this right? I saw...I mean, nevermind."

Jack nodded with pursed lips on his face, but he almost laughed. His mind might have wandered if Lys hadn't started using the tips of her claws. For a first timer she was picking up on this fast. Not wanting to let her have all the fun, he started rubbing her belly again, distracting her long enough to let go. He breathed a mental sigh of relief, a little more of that and...

Each rotation of his hand over her soft scales moved lower and lower, down that turquoise path. Her tail thwapped wildly against the bed and her eyes regained that primal hunger. Gently, his finger glided over her soft, scaly entrance. He looked into those yellow eyes for approval. She nodded a bit nervously, as he dipped a finger inside her.

Heat, surprising heat. While Lys had never felt like a cold-blooded reptile, she wasn't exactly warm either. The kobold moaned under his touch and started a low thrum. He added several more digits, working them back and forth. She tensed up around his fingers, gripping them. Her tongue came lolling out and she began panting hard. Jack marveled at how tight she was as he worked his fingers deeper.

"Unnh..." the kobold twisted and twitched under his ministrations. Grasping at the sheets while her lover gave her pleasures she had never known before. Her breathing became more ragged while she clinched involuntarily at his touch. Those slick fingers continued to work the hot, soft flesh within and Jack prepared to coax an orgasm out of her, but she yelped in panic. "S-stop..." the kobold grabbed his arm with both claws, nearly cutting him in the process.

Jack let go, whipping his hand away. "Are you okay?" he asked, worried he'd hurt her somehow.

Lys panted for a moment. "Y-yes, just..." she trailed off, completely out of breath. "Not used to...so good...so much better than when Lys..." she breathed deep, trying to get control of herself. Meanwhile, her tail kept spasming and her hips rolled ever so slightly.

"Better than when Lys does what?"

She pushed him backwards. "Jack doesn't need to worry about it!" The kobold looked away. "Lys may not need to worry about it anymore either," she muttered as her scaly lips curled into a half-smile. "Jack is very talented."

"Thanks." He grinned sheepishly and a childish sense of pride welled up inside of him. It felt so good to know he could sexuality gratify a pint-sized lizard, but she'd denied herself an orgasm and that was something he couldn't tolerate. "Here, I'll show you another of my many talents," he said with a glint in his eye. Jack rolled off the bed and motioned for her to sit on the edge. The kobold looked at him puzzled, but she inched forward until her legs dangled over the side. Her would-be mate knelt down, positioning himself between her scaly legs and began closing in.

Lys fidgeted. "W-what are you going to do?"

"You'll see. Trust me, you'll like it."

"L-Lys doesn't know about thiiiEEEE!!"

Jack wrapped his arms around her backside while his tongue went inside. Her hot flesh was silken soft with a faint tangy flavor; each stroke of his tongue made her walls clinch around it almost like a hand. A sensation the likes of which he'd never felt before, but would be glad to experience over and over. Lys babbled, going more frantic by the second.

"S-sto-p-p! N-no don't stoahhh!" She was practically drooling on him. Her claws tried to grasp his head, but each glide of his tongue caused her hands to slip. Moans changed to loud squeals. Her tail whipped about so hard it made her sway and the baser part of him began to ponder how this would feel around his...

And in the next moment he was smothering in her crotch. Her strong legs wrapped completely around his head, pushing him inward with a death grip. She quivered and quaked around him. In a panic he started to stand up. Lys fell back onto the bed, but she still had him in a lock. The kobold squealed again and his tongue became awash in that tangy flavor. Tighter and tighter she gripped him. Jack started slapping her thighs. She looked at him in a hazy stupor until she realized what was going on. Lys let go and Jack fell against the floor with a thud.

Staring up at the ceiling always made Jack a bit introspective. How was it that things had progressed so quickly? What was he going to tell his folks when he came down for Christmas? And why couldn't he stop grinning like a fool even though he'd almost smothered in kobold? With a deep breath he pulled himself up off the floor. Lys continued to lay there on the mattress, her squeaky panting the only sound in the room.

Just seeing her laying there vulnerable and out of breath turned him on. "Okay?" he asked.

The kobold nodded slightly. "That...that was...where did Jack learn to..."

"Maybe I'll tell you some day." He sat her up and started rubbing her back. It didn't take long for her to recover. Lys had energy to spare.

"Great for me, but what about you?" She looked him up and down. It was true, he was burning with insane need by this point, but he got a great deal of satisfaction out of pleasing her. "Maybe I could do something like that?" she asked as she stared at him.

That tongue of her would have been heaven, but he thought better of it. "Maybe next time."

"Well Jack is going to get something." She pushed into him, knocking him onto the bed; that hungry look returned to her eyes as her tongue swayed slightly from her maw. The kobold started to climb atop him, taken over by that primal quality. "I want, she mumbled.

"What's wrong sweetheart?"

"N-nothing just," she reached for his hands, "kobolds can be forceful."

Jack watched while she prepared to straddle him, her whole body seemed to be radiating heat now and her eyes glazed over. "Take it real slow," he whispered.

Lys sucked in a breath and squeezed his hands.

"If it--"

The kobold shook her head and closed her eyes tight. Jack gasped, The brisk sensation of scales, tightness, and that heat. She moved a little further and then sucked in a pained breath.

"I said go slow, gonna hurt yourself."

Lys paid him no mind, determined to reciprocate. Little by little and yip by moan she went further. Her expression shifted between pain and pleasure. Jack opened his mouth to speak, but then she shifted again with a yelp and he entered her. The kobold enveloped him like a glove, a scaly glove two sizes too small. Jack gripped her hands tight. His legs spasmed and twitched with each tiny movement she made. The only thing he didn't like was the grimace on her scaly muzzle. "If you can't walk tomorrow, it's not my fault," he said breathlessly.

"Fine," she hissed. "Now shut up and let Lys mate!"

Her scent, her heat, and her sounds. Lys started moving up and down. The hot, gripping sensation was unlike anything he'd experienced before, almost painful. Her rough scales rubbing against him, her tail coiling around his leg. The kobold rose almost completely off him and then back down again. A guttural thrum accompanied each motion in between yelps of pain.

For all his lust, hearing her cries made him want to call it all off. Before he could object a dull sting distracted him and something damp trickled down his hands, blood from her claws digging in. Jack accepted it as payback. A thin layer of sweat coated his face. The smell of sex and something else filled the room. Earthy and familiar, her smell.

"Mhmm...more..." her sporadic movements turned into a rhythm. Her tail gripped his leg tighter while her claws dug deeper. It would hurt like hell later, but now it only drove him wild. Things became slick and moist as Lys picked up her pace. Jack's hips bucked, meeting her half way, making her bounce. Her thurms turned raspy. Her tongue hung sideways from her maw and each thrust allected a hungry growl from her throat. For such a small thing she had a raw power inside of her. Her determination not only made Jack desire her more and filled him with warmth.

Her slack tongue flicked spittle across his chest. More blood trickled down his hands. At this point everything just made him burn as he thrust into her desperately. Jack broke out of her grip and clutched onto her legs, ramming her deep. Her tail constricted about his leg to keep balance. Lys started screaming, but he had no way to tell if they were cries of ecstasy, pain, or both. Jack couldn't stop even if he wanted too. His body ached for release as her scaly sex gripped his member tighter and tighter.

"Ahh!" She let out a cry that echoed through his bones. Her eyes rolled back and nearly tumbled off him when she hit her orgasm. Jack quickly followed, spasming and grunting as he let go for what seemed like hours. Time sat still for just a moment while he looked up at her through his sweat-drenched gaze. She wobbled around atop of him liked she were drugged. Then all at once Lys fell into his waiting embrace gasping and panting. The two spent lovers laid there in each other's arms. Jack worried he might have hurt her beyond the obvious until she started to vibrate against his chest.

"Wow," she squeaked. "Good wow."

Jack squeezed her tight. "Very good wow, are you okayt?" he asked with a tired laugh.

Her hot breath grazed his chest. "Maybe. Did we really just?"

Jack stroked her back. "Yeah. Now what was this about seeing pictures?" He kissed her on the snout.

Lys snorted. "Humans leave...interesting things lying around, leave it at that." She pushed herself up to return the kiss, that's when she noticed the crimson stains on her claws. "What? Oh no!" She rolled off him and looked at his hands, stained and bleeding.

The afterglow faded; his hands started to hurt. "It's alright, I'll go wash up." Carefully he picked himself up off the bed trying not to get blood everywhere. He nearly tumbled to the floor; his legs were like jelly.

"Is not.." she trailed off, trying to catch her breath. "Not alright."

His hands were a mess of scratches and punctures, nothing needing professional medical attention, he hoped. The faucet turned with a creak. Jack took a deep breath. "Shit!" The water flushed away the blood, setting each wound aflame. Lys stood there watching him wince and groan.

"So sorry, I can't believe I did that." He heard her try to stand up and then a small bang against the floor. Jack dove back into the bedroom, leaving a trail of bloody water across the carpet. Lys was laying there, looking pained and frustrated.

"You know, I said--"

"Be quiet and pick Lys up."

Gingerly, he placed his hands beneath her. He almost fell over in the process. "Are you going to be okay?"

The tired kobold nuzzled against him. "Probably...your fault...you and your..."

"You loved it." Jack was about to add more to his retort when he noticed he was still anointing the carpet with blood.

He marched back into the bathroom and laid Lys on the toilet. With a grunt he stuck his hands back under the sink. "Serves you right," she huffed.

"Oh, now you're glad I'm bleeding profusely." Jack turned off the water and yanked a washrag off the rack, applying pressure to his hands. "You know, some people actually like that kind of thing."

"Hmph. You don't really think I like hurting you, do you?"

Jack looked down at the bloodstained rag and fiddled with his hands before tossing it away. Smiling, he patted her between the horns. "You always hurt the ones you love."

"What?"

"It's a song."

She rolled her eyes. "Lys better wash." Jack watched as she tried to get to her feet once more, wincing and wobbling while she did. She gripped the sink counter, trying to balance herself, but she couldn't do it. Jack swooped in and grabbed her. "All your fault," she reiterated.

"I didn't make you give me the best sex of my life, that was all you." He tried to play it off cool, but secretly he felt a bit worried. Jack set her back down on the toilet and fetched another wash cloth.

"What it that good?" She grinned.

Jack handed her the damp rag. "Yes."

Her yellow eyes narrowed. "How many times has Jack mated?"

"Well, uhhh...I guess that depends on what you mean by 'mated'."

Thankfully, Lys let it drop and continued to wipe off her claws.

"What about you?" he asked, trying to veer away from his own sex life.

She set aside the cloth. "Lys's first time, but yes." Her smile retuned. "Even though Lys can never walk again," she said sarcastically. She reached up for him, arms wide. He pulled her into a hug and carried her back to the bedroom. He never got tired of carrying her. "What do humans do after mating?"

"That really depends on the humans, but a lot of people snuggle and fall asleep."

"Sounds very good since I'm not going anywhere. Tired now anyway."

A few moments later the two were laying in each other's arms. The tapping of raindrops resumed outside. "Do you think we did this too soon?" Lys asked, sleepily.

"What just because you went from being in my car trunk to being in my bed a little after a week? Nah."

Lys slapped him on the chest. "Always joking. Jack the joker."

He rubbed his chest. "People have gotten into bed with each other for far less, are you sorry?"

The kobold hugged him tighter than ever before. "No." But then she went wide eyed. "Do you think Lys will become--"

"I doubt it," he said as much to reassure himself. Of course, his mind drifted into imagining what a kobold-human hybrid would look like. Lys closed her eyes and quickly drifted off. Jack draped an arm around her and started to doze. An annoying buzz brought him back out of it though. His phone rattled and vibrated on the nightstand for several minutes. Whoever it was and whatever it was could wait, for now his world was just about perfect and he wanted to savor it while it lasted.
