"S-so what are we doing now?" Travis asked meekly, struggling to sit comfortably in the back of the moving van.

"I'm a free fox so the first thing we're gonna do is get some drinks," Finnick grinned, putting work weight on the gas pedal.

"It's the first time Finnick actually managed to avoid going to jail. That's something to celebrate at least," Nick added from the passenger seat.

"Hey, I was never gonna go to jail! Besides, I need a drink. It was stressful as hell being held up in there. Especially with that psycho fuck Fangs breathing down my neck all the time," the smaller fox scowled, making a turn towards the apartment complex.

Nick frowned when he heard the wolf's name. He was still a problem they had to worry about, but for now all he wanted to think about was getting a few drinks down. Out of them all, Travis looked like he needed a drink most of all. The poor ferret was just sliding back and forth in the back and he had a tired look in his eyes.

"We're here! God, I missed this place," Finnick sighed. Nick opened the van door and stepped out. It had been awhile since he stepped foot in the apartment too. It would be a returning experience for the both of them. Nick let Travis out of the back and the trio walked into the lobby.

They reached the stairs and the ferret watched as Finnick tugged on Nick's pants, the taller fox rolled his eyes and reached down, picking the fennec up and holding him in his arms. Travis said nothing as he watched Nick carry another grown adult up the stairs. Finnick was more than happy to feel the other fox's touch. His nose twitched, inhaling the familiar scent. His eyes darted to Travis following behind and he gave the ferret a menacing glare.

Travis came to his own conclusions. The first was that there were simply too many stairs for Finnick to climb. The other was that maybe Finnick just didn't want to walk up the stairs in general. He chalked it up to the true answer being a combination of both and decided it was best to just drop the idea all together. They soon made it to the second story and stopped in front of their apartment.

"You got the keys?" Finnick asked as he was being slowly put down on the hallway floor.

"Yep," Nick said, reaching into his pocket and pulling them out. Soon he opened the door, letting Finnick step in.

Upon seeing the state of the living room Nick sucked his teeth. The living room was littered with tossed shirts and pants, just laying on the ground. On the floor were many different balled up papers and even wrappers of various snacks.

"Nick, what the fuck happened to this place?" Finnick barked, taking a look around. He was sure that he cleaned up the place before he was arrested.

"Yeah, my bad," Nick's ears flattened and he gave a chuckle. "Once you got taken away... I kinda fell apart. I even stayed at Gideon's for a while." He was sure that it wasn't this bad when he left.

"Whatever. We'll just kick them in a corner and clean it up later," Finnick shrugged, walking into the kitchen and opening the fridge. He should have expected that it would be almost completely empty.

"Let me guess, I gotta do a liquor run?" Nick asked with a sigh.

"Well, more of an everything run, but yeah. That can be a start," Finnick nodded.

"Aright, then. I'll be back. You two can get acquainted while I'm gone," the fox teased.

"We already know each other," Travis chimed in from the other side of the living room.

"Oh yeah. Right," Nick smirked, walking out of the apartment and closing the door behind him.

Travis and Finnick were left alone with one another. The fennec took another look around the living room and growled.

"Hey, Travis! Help me clean this place up," it came out more as a demand than a request.

"Uh, sure. Where do I start?" Travis asked, getting up from the couch. From what he could see, the whole place was a mess.

"I'll pick up whatever's in here. How about you check around the kitchen?" Finnick ordered, turning back to pick up the fox's discarded clothing.

Travis did as he was told and scampered off to the kitchen. From what he could see, most of the junk was on the countertops. It made sense to him now why Finnick designated this spot for him. Reaching across the surfaces Travis scooped up all kinds of random objects and placed them in trash. The ferret was surprised there wasn't an infestation of some kind by now. Once he was halfway done Finnick called to him once again.

"Hey, Travis. What kind of shit are you into now?" Finnick asked, he was bored and figured that talking while cleaning was a good solution.

"Well, I work with Gideon now," Travis answered. "He offered me a job about a year and a half ago. I've been doing the bookkeeping around the place."

"Bookkeeping? That's what you do now? Well I heard that you ended working for Mr. Big. What was that all about?" Finnick asked in genuine curiosity.

"Well," Travis sighed as the memories of those times came back to him. "A lot of things led up to that happening. A lot of things went wrong. I was just a country ferret that decided it would be a great idea to go to college in the big city where everything is perfect. It seemed pretty good at first."

"What were you studying for?" Finnick asked, still not looking back, just listening as he continued to clean.

"I was going for a degree in agriculture. Growing up in Bunnyburrow, everyone had a green paw. Everywhere you looked was a garden or something growing thee at least. But me... I never really got the hang of growing stuff," Travis admitted with a sheepish laugh. "Nothing I planted ever lived that long. I decided that I wanted to go to college and study self-sustaining models. I took an experimental agriculture studies class."

"You lost me there..." Finnick responded.

"Basically, I wanted to grow stuff and I took a class on how to make the whole process easier," Travis huffed. "Anyway, sooner or later the courses started getting too expensive for me and my folks back home. But my roommate was making good money doing... something. He offered to let me join him and I said yes. They just seemed to be odd jobs done here and there and we were paid well enough for them. It was enough that I could keep studying."

"Sounds like a pretty nice guy," Finnick said, adding a pair of underwear to the clothes pile.

"Yeah... But in a single day everything changed. I don't know what happened exactly, I think it had something to do with his family. Not long after that he just started going downhill. We still did the jobs but he was taking most of the money and spending it on beer and other stuff like that. Another thing happened and we ended up getting kicked out and going our separate ways."

"Even though we split up I was still part of what I found out was Mr. Big's organization. I still needed money at the time and he told me it would be the last thing I would have to do. He told me that my old roommate was arrested so that meant I was going about it alone," Travis huffed.

"Well, did you ever get that degree?" Finnick asked, turning his attention back to the ferret.

"N-no. After that whole drug pick up I had to do I swore off from doing anything stupid like that. I spent the next few years living with my parents, having no idea what to do with my life. Gideon, being the pal that he is, offered me a job the minute his bakery made some noise around the city."

"I figured I had nothing to lose so I took the job. And that leads us pretty much here," Travis finished. He left out various parts about the budding romance between him and the weasel. He refused to even say his name, feeling a bit embarrassed by it all.

"Well, look. I know a guy who can get you a real official looking diploma for that agricultural whatever," Finnick offered, coming into the kitchen.

"Oh, you don't have to-- Wait, are you serious?" Travis asked, making the fox laugh. Almost immediately his phone started to ring and Nick's name was shown as the caller ID.

"Hey, Nick. What's taking you so long?" Finnick barked into the phone.

"That's a nice guess, but try again," a voice that made Finnick's blood boil sounded on the other side of the line.

"Fangs!! You son of a bitch! Where's Nick?! I swear to God if..."

"He's fine," the wolf responded. "Just taking a little nap is all."

"I'm gonna find your ass and when I do you're fucking dead!!" Finnick snarled, hanging up the phone.

"Is Nick alright?" Travis asked, sensing the danger.

"I don't know for sure. Travis, I need you to call Gideon while I call Judy. We're gonna need all the help we can get. I should have known he would do something like this, the sick twisted fuck..." Finnick seethed, punching the side of the couch as hard as he could. He wished it were him that was taken instead. After all the things he did to Nick; cheating on him and breaking his heart, the fox still did everything he could to keep him out of jail. And now he was kidnapped by some psychopath wolf all because of him. In Finnick's eyes this was all his fault. With a heavy sigh he slowly dialed Judy's number.

Hanging up on Finnick filled Fangs with a deep sense of satisfaction. It was a shame that they couldn't talk any longer. From behind the wolf came the groans of the waking fox. The wolf smiled and turned around to look at his new love.

"Oh, Nick. I'm so glad that you're finally awake! I was starting to worry I hit you too hard," Fangs fake pouted, crouching down to view Nick at eye level.

All Fangs received in his response was a growl from the bound vulpine. Nick's wrists were locked together with a pair of handcuffs and for added measure his feet were wrapped tight in rope, ensuring there was no way he could escape. Despite that Nick continued to wriggle and struggle as much as he could. He hoped that sooner or later something would snap or come loose.

The wolf watched the display and couldn't help but laugh. "What's wrong? Not comfortable?" Fangs asked, sitting down on the couch. A wide smile was on his muzzle the whole time Nick struggled for everything he was worth.

Nick continued until he was exhausted. He could hear laughter behind him and snarled. "S-shut up! You and I both know Finnick's gonna find me and he's gonna fuck you up!"

In response Fangs rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue. He stood up from the couch and crouched beside the straining fox. "And is that supposed to scare me? You poor, naive fox. Don't you realize that I'm doing this all for you?"

He stretched his paw out to caress the fur behind Nick's ear. "I just want to love you the way you deserve to be loved. Sure, you thought Finnick loved you but we all know how that ended..."

Nick shuddered under the wolf's touch. With all the might he had, the fox managed to scoot just a bit farther away from his kidnapper. "T-that's because you fucked him!"

"Well, he didn't say no did he? That just proves that he's no good for you. You need me; a big, strong wolf that can protect you from all the dangers out there. You're too good for any of them out there, you just don't even know it," Fangs grinned, standing all over the wolf.

"And about Finnick coming here. It's actually something I'm waiting for. After all, being watched is a major turn on of mine," Fangs growled lowly. He got on his paws and knees. A pitched whine came from Nick, feeling the wolf's claw tip dragging against his chin, sharp enough to pierce his skin.

"Aw, don't be scared. I'm not sure if it's sunk in or not but... You're staying here with me. Pretty soon you'll forget all about him. And I know just what'll get you to relax. How about we have a little fun?" The seductive tone of the wolf's voice made Nick's tail bristle and his blood run cold.

"I'm sure I got enough time to break you in before Finnick gets here!" Fangs snarled, flashing his teeth at the terrified fox.

Nick gasped as he couldn't do anything to stop the wolf's advances. He tried moving his legs and scooting further away but it was a useless effort. Fangs held Nick down, pressing his paw into the fox's chest. With his other paw he ripped the top buttons free from Nick's shirt.

"S-stop, please!" Pleaded the vulpine, still trying to use his legs to get away. Fangs said nothing in response, but the grin on his muzzle was enough of an answer for the fox. With another swipe of his claws the rest of the shirt was ripped open, exposing the vanilla-shaded fur underneath.

"Just relax, Nick. I'm not gonna hurt you... So long as you just do as I say! You're mine and I'm gonna have you whenever I want! I've waited for you long enough..." The ivory wolf sniffed along Nick's bare chest, picking up the lingering scent of Finnick, something that was about to be changed. He dragged his tongue across the soft fur, making Nick yelp. Fangs' tongue lapped further up Nick's body, reaching up to his captive's neck.

Nick tried to struggle once more, making the wolf lose patience. With a swift motion his jaws were clamped tight on the fox's shoulder, drawing blood that dripped onto his tongue.

"That's a warning!" Fangs snarled. It filled him with satisfaction to know that he could tame this fox as easily as he did Sammy. He took a deep breath and slid down the fox's body, stopping at his belt buckle. He grabbed the buckle and started to undo the belt, Nick wriggled again in protest but a warning growl put a stop to that. He continued to undo the buckle slowly, wanting the fox to feel the building anticipation for what was to come. With a smirk across his muzzle Fangs ripped the fox's pants down.

"ZPD!! We have your house surrounded!! Come out with your paws up!!" a blaring voice rang into the house.

"Shit!" Fangs hissed. He expected Finnick to show up on his own, but the whole of the ZPD was at his literal doorstep. Nick said nothing, simply wincing in pain from his shoulder, but he was glad that the moment was stopped.

Fangs rushed off into another room, leaving Nick alone. He attempted once again to somehow get free but nothing was giving way under his struggling. The cuffs were still tight and the ropes weren't giving way either.

"Hey!!" the wolf yelled as he returned to the living room. "You're gonna listen to me and do exactly as I say." Nick's gaze shifted to see a gun firmly held in Fang's paw. In his other paw was a pair of small keys. He leaned down, taking one of the keys and using it to unlock the cuffs. The wolf's claws were used to cut the ropes and free Nick.

"Remember what I said!" Fangs threatened, flicking the barrel of the pistol. Nick nodded and stood perfectly still as the wolf stood over his bitten shoulder.

"Now let's go," Fangs commanded, shoving Nick forwards towards the front door. He reached past the fox and gripped the doorknob. "Now, stay still and nothing's gonna happen to you..."

As the front door swung open Nick was met with the shouts and drawn guns of various ZPD S.W.A.T. members.

"Hold your fire!" Bogo commanded through his held bullhorn. "Thomas! We have you surrounded. There's nowhere to run. Drop any weapons and release Mr. Wilde!!"

Nick could hear the gun's barrel spin behind his head once more, making him gulp. "You try anything and he gets it!!" The wolf yelled to everyone standing in formation outside. Fangs moved a bit to the side. "You better trust me. Your life depends on it now," Fangs whispered in his ear. Nick nodded, but saw his opportunity.

"I... I trust you..." Nick said in the calmest and most genuine tone he could. Fangs blinked in surprise and felt the gun's press on his head loosening. In an instant, Nick lunged to the side, clamping his teeth into the side of the wolf's face. Fangs howled in pain, reaching over in an attempt to punch the fox off of him. Nick thought quickly, using his paws to twist the gun out of the wolf's paw.

Fangs stood there, his paw covering his face. He moved it, revealing deep bite marks starting just underneath his right eye and ending at his muzzle, dripping blood onto his blue shirt. Nick's mouth was filled with the taste of wolf blood but ignored that and kept his wits about him.

Fangs roared in anger and lunged at Nick. "Why you little--"

Nick raised the gun at the attacking wolf and the boom of a gunshot was heard by everyone. Nick stood completely still while Fangs stopped dead in his tracks. He clutched his chest and fell to the floor, gasping for breath. The fox was still confused. He didn't pull the trigger. Tossing the gun to the side, Nick wasted no time getting as far away as he could, running towards the S.W.A.T. waiting for him.

Judy was still panting, the gun that fired still held in her paws.

"Move in and get him! The hostage is free!" Bogo bellowed. He looked over at the rabbit who still held the gun firmly in his paws, not taking her eyes off the wolf lying on the porch.

"Hopps," Bogo said in a calm but stern tone. "Put the gun down. Nick is safe."

Judy nodded and lowered her gun. "I'm sorry. I know you didn't signal, but he was about to--"

"The hostage is safe and it clearly wasn't a fatal shot. You acted quickly when Nick was in danger. That's all that matters now," Bogo advised.

Judy simply nodded in response. She watched as the ZPD S.W.A.T. stormed into Fangs' house. Some of the bigger members apprehended him. There were shouts for a stretcher. Soon the area became nothing more than jumbled noise to the bunny. She was still searching for Nick himself, losing sight of him once the S.W.A.T. moved in.

"Carrots!" the voice made her ears flick. She instantly took off to find her best friend, dipping in between whoever and whatever was in her way. The voice of Nick was heard by her again. Between two rhinos, past a buck and sliding underneath a grizzly. She looked around but there was still no sign of him.

"Judy!" two arms wrapped around the bunny's waist, lifting her up. Before Judy could properly react, Nick was already holding her tight.

"I'm so glad to see you. I thought I was gonna die," Nick whimpered, tears freely streaming down his face.

"It's gonna be okay. It's all over now. You're safe, Nick. We got him," Judy reassured, holding onto the fox.

Nick nodded, wiped his eyes and gently set Judy back on the ground. "I'm just really glad you're here, Judy. But what happened to Fangs? I didn't shoot him..."

"I... I guess one of the snipers saw Thomas coming at you so they took the shot," Judy explained, feeling bad for lying to her friend.

"Well, I'm just really glad that's all over. At least I know I'm not into being tied up," Nick grinned. Judy couldn't help but give a small laugh, glad to see that Nick was already making sly jokes again.

"We should go see the Chief and let him know that you're alright," Judy suggested, turning around and leading the way.

"Alright. Hey, Carrots. Why is the entire ZPD here?" Nick asked, looking around the area.

"Well, turns out the first fox cop was pretty popular. Even after he left. When Finnick called me and told me what happened, I told the Chief and pretty much everyone volunteered. There's still enough back at the department for any other emergencies... But look around you, Nick. Everyone here came for you. To save you," Judy explained.

Nick just nodded, looking around like the bunny told him to. He remembered the time he spent among those at the ZPD. It wasn't a long time but it was a good time. He got to know many of the officers in the area. He saw them on the streets after hours, in stores, at the mechanics, at the bar too. He was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that a whole chunk of the department came to his aid. With Judy leading, he was soon brought to the chief.

"Ah! Mr. Wilde! We lost sight of you when the squad ran in. I'm glad to see that you are alright," Bogo said genuinely.

"Thanks, I'm glad to be out of there," Nick sighed. There was another bout of yelling as the crowd was parting for the stretcher that carried Fangs. "Huh. Is he gonna be alright?"

"He'll recover. And when he does he'll be going to prison for a long time," Bogo said firmly.

"Hmm," Nick responded. There were many things going on in his mind at once. He was so glad to be out of that maniac's house. At the same time there was also a pity that was felt for Fangs that even Nick himself couldn't understand.

His musings were cut short by a tug at his arm. He looked down to see Judy looking back up at him. Her eyes were shining with excitement. "We're gonna get you back home. Finnick's probably about to have a heart attack."

Nick nodded fiercely, feeling an overwhelming urge to see his boyfriend and do nothing more than just hold him tight.

"Nick!!" As if on cue, Finnick's van screeched to a halt upon the scene. The fennec leaped out of his van and ran across the yard. Nick opened his arms and met the smaller fox with an embrace.

"I'm -- I'm so glad that you're alright," Finnick sniffled in Nick's shoulder. Nick lifted him up and held him close. Nick shook his head and held the fennec even closer. "This is all my fault. If I never cheated on you, none of this would have ever happened!"

"I'm sorry, Nick. I love you so much and I thought that... I promise that I'm never gonna do anything to hurt you again, I'm serious... I promise..."

Nick held onto Finnick, feeling his own tears falling from his eyes. "Finnick... I'm just so happy that you're here. You're my best friend and I love you, too. All I could think of was you. Just... Just keep holding me."

"It's my fault too. I fell for Fangs' act and even let us into our house," Nick sighed.

"No, Nick. He tricked you. The both of us. But I cheated on you and I still feel like a piece of shit for it... I know I can't take it back. I swear I'm never doing anything to hurt you like that ever again," Finnick promised.

"Finnick... How about we both move forward? Together. We both have a lot of shit to work out," Nick admitted, giving a sheepish laugh. "How about we find a new regular job, like being gardeners or something?"

"How about we just go back to doing what we do best? I'll put up with that stupid ass zebra costume," Finnick chuckled. "As long as we do it together and be with you all the time..."

"I like that. But how about we just get home? Besides... I never got to get the beer," Nick sighed, his ears lowering. Soon both the foxes were laughing and talking like the old friends they were.

"Heh, I'll catch up with them later," Judy grinned to herself. For now she had a bit more work to do.

Nick and Finnick hopped into the van. Nick buckled his seat belt as Finnick crawled into the driver's seat.

"Nick... I'm gonna be better. Especially to you," Finnick sighed, looking up to the bigger fox. "I'll get a job, quit drinking, stop smoking, and even trade the van. Whatever it takes to--" The fennec was cut off by Nick kissing him. Finnick felt a warmth spreading through his entire being, their kiss was slow and soft. Nick pulled away and there was a stern seriousness in his eyes.

"Finnick, I love you just the way you are. I love the way you laugh, you drink, smoke and I love this van as much as you do," Nick said warmly. "Now, come on, let's go get that beer and go home." Finnick nodded and started up the van.

"You know I love you, right?" Finnick asked, grinning. "What? Want me to prove it tonight?"

"Ha! Love you too, Finnick," Nick smiled as they pulled off.
