In the land-locked country of Estavnia, Aleksander B?rzi?š was born in the year 2001. He was born to Keert and Abolins B?rzi?š, dark red and pink Leafeon, respectively. Leafeons are small, semi-feral canines with colored leaves on their ears and tails. Aleksander was born with scarlet red leaves and lived in a humid area with many plants and organisms that contained chlorophyll. Six years before, the Federation of Socialist States annexed Estavnia after declaring war on them in 1990. During the last fifty years, it had been involved in some wars. Growing up, Aleksander expected to have to fight in future conflicts once he became of age. He grew up among Leafeons and other Eeveelutions. At school, he learned about the history of the Eeveelutions. He enjoyed history, as he wanted to know about different conflicts that his nation and other regions took part in.

First, he had to learn the origin of his species. Before the Eeveelutions came into being, there were Eevees, which were the pre-evolved forms of the current Eeveelutions. The Eevees were a tall fox-human race and were inventing philosophical ideas about life and morality. After a nearby volcano demolished the Eevee civilization, some surviving Eevees adapted to the new environment. Some also moved to different regions and adapted to those environments. The Eevees that stayed near the volcano became Flareons. Eevees that moved to the forests became Leafeons. Aleksander nodded as he read this, now knowing the origins of his species.

He listened to more lectures in his history class about the other Eeveelutions. The Eevees that trekked to the snow-covered mountains evolved into Glaceons. Any Eevee that climbed even higher in the mountains became Wispeons, who grew wings and were majestic. Jolteons were a sparse species, but they were very comfortable living in their electromagnetic-dominant regions. Being made of steel, Centureons resembled knights in appearance. They lived in areas in need of protection. Sylveons lived in dry areas around the continent, unlike the Vaporeons, who enjoyed aquatic regions and stayed near areas with high humidity. Some Eevees that kept themselves from the light but stayed in the dark evolved to become Umbreons. The Espeons were widespread in the region, mainly gaining land in Erusea. Aleksander tried to recall if he ever met an Espeon in his life, and wondered if they were a powerful species in history.

Later in the school year, there was more history he learned about the conflicts between Eeveelution species. He learned of a Flareon King named Carolus, who took offense to the Espeon expansion, and in 1820 he declared war on them, convincing other civilizations around him to unite and conquer the Espeons. He and his army won the war, and the Espeons were now an endangered species. They now live in a small area of land between a Centureon and Flareon region. However, they favored the type of environment because of the above-average sunlight that hit the area. The history of King Carolus fascinated Aleksander, particularly with the study of his military tactics. While doing his normal coursework, he studied more about military history. As he read history books during his free time away from school, he became inspired to join the armed forces and become a soldier. That would be his primary goal in life.

Aleksander read about the modern history of his country as well, and how those events impacted the country, even today. In 2000, Estavnia went through an arms race. This continued until the year 2020 when war broke out between Estavnia and the Federation of Socialist States. The Kriegsland Empire sent supplies to support Estvania. Aleksander knew what he had to do. As soon as he was old enough and finished his education, he joined the military. He expected to be drafted, and he wanted to prepare himself to be an army soldier. There were few options for him before he became an adult. There was one option that gave him a great opportunity. During his secondary school years, he joined the Military Appreciation Club and rose the ranks to become the club's Vice President. Aleksander was titled in the yearbook, "The Most Likely to Join the Armed Forces". His dream of being a soldier would come true as soon as he completed his basic training.

Aleksander was dispatched to the battlefield after completing his basic training within a few weeks. He was to serve in the 22nd Estavnian Resistance Battalion. His superiors ordered his battalion to take positions at the border of Estavnia and Stoland, a country south of Estavnia. They were told to defend the country's borders at all costs. Aleksander was the rank of Private, and he was in a lowly decorated battalion. The battalion used SKSs, a type of machine gun that was used back in the 1940s when the continent went through a world war.

Though the superiors downplayed the battalion's potential, Aleksander showed immense courage as he took his position, not being afraid of being placed in the front lines, and taking initiative, despite being the rank of Private and not having much experience in battle. He was more aware of his surroundings and seemed highly trained compared to the rest of his unit. His Sergeant noted this. Sergeant Erik Roheline, an older Glaceon, was leading the unit, and he felt he needed someone to continue on the 22nd Estavnian Resistance Battalion's legacy. He knew he was about to be promoted to Staff Sergeant of the 15th Estavnian Tactical Battalion.

After a long three-day standoff against the enemy, they agreed on a ceasefire until further notice. During that time, the soldiers were to rest and swap out shifts for guard duty. Sergeant Roheline sat at his desk in his tent and ordered a corporal to retrieve Aleksander. He then took the former rank pin that he had on his uniform and placed it on his desk. Aleksander came in and saluted his now-former Sergeant. Then, he looked down and questioned why he left his pin on the desk. Sergeant Roheline stated Aleksander would be the new Sergeant of his assigned unit. Aleksander humbly accepted the promotion, saluted once more, and exited the tent. He was now known as Sergeant Aleksander B?rzi?š of the 22nd Estavnian Resistance Battalion.
