CHAPTER 3

Four more years have passed and Isinia is now at the age of eighteen and has decided to leave in search for her own life. Though her main reason for doing so is so Wulffrith would not come into danger like what happened to her parents and grandparents. She loved Wulffrith just as much like her family and called him uncle through those four years. She took only the most important items she took care of, her katana, her family's history book with a few pictures inside it, and a small necklace that had a Kanji character that meant 'dreams'.

Wulffrith hugged Isinia once more time before letting her go, "Are you sure you want to leave Isinia? It is a dangerous world after all." Isinia, already in tears, nodded lightly as she withdrew from the hug a little, "Yes Uncle Wulffrith, I do." It hurt Wulffrith to see her go but knew she had come to the age where she could decide whatever she wanted. Upon seeing her tears, he placed a hand on her chin and raised her head a little to look at her with a smile, "Remember Isi, smile smile! I can only give you thanks for giving me a chance to see what it is like to have and taking care of a sweet little girl like you. Do remember to visit okay?"

Isinia smiled at his words, "Thank you Uncle Wulffrith. I will come and visit... I promise."

"Good girl... You've grown up very fast since I first saw you little Isi. I only hope to see you again. Here is your backpack Isinia," he said as he handed it over to her, which had a few clothes and food aside from her most important items.

She gave another big hug to Wulffrith before finally letting go one more time and started to head down the road towards the city limits, leading to the great unknown. With tears in her eyes and smile, she waved back to him as she continued walking, Wulffrith waving in return until he could no longer see her. After some moments, she could no longer see him and finally turned her head to the front, looking forward to see what was out there.

After about an hour, she finally reached the city limits and crossed over, heading into the forest. While walking through it, she would encounter the gravesite where her grandparents slept eternally. The only way it would be able to be spotted is by the marking of a tree that was next to it. Isinia had always visited her grandparent's at least once a year to deliver two white roses to them. Like before, she did the same, except this time she sat down for a moment, as if about to take in a conversation with them, "Grandfather... Grandmother... I hope you'll understand me why I might not be able to visit for some time. I am leaving the city so Wulffrith won't be hurt and I might not return in a long while. Goodbye for now..."

As she stood up, instead of turning around to head back to the city, she headed straight deep into the woods without looking back. Her promise to return and visit would be at least once a year, if not able to visit more often. As she traveled, she would feel a small wind brush against her, almost feeling as if being watched over by either her parents or grandparents. She raised a hand to her necklace as she looked and walked onward, "Guide me..."

After walking through the forest for some hours, the sky was beginning to darken and cause some uneasy feelings to stir within her. Ever since she was just a pup, she had always had a strong fear of the darkness, though now it only made her uneasy. It wasn't a fear or uncomfortable feeling like everyone else had but it was just some sort of feeling of wanting to stay away from darkness. Whether she liked it or not, it seemed she had to camp out here for now.

About an hour later, and a few troubles at first, she manages to put up a small tent for herself and gather some wood for the fire she started a few moments ago with some leaves. As she sat down near the fire, her eyes wandered about at her surroundings, still feeling uneasy as darkness of the night started to settle in. She reached into her backpack, getting a sandwich that she had made before she left the city.

There was still so much going on in her mind, not just about the darkness, but also about the things that have been going on with her life. As stars began to shine brightly, she grew more uneasy and finished her sandwich, getting herself inside the tent and zipping it closed. She gave a soft sigh as she sat down, getting herself undressed for to head for sleep. Once slipping herself under the covers she tried to head for sleep.

It was rather hard to fall asleep due to the noises that went on in the forest, making her almost jump at every sound. It was bad enough she had someone out to kill her and the sounds that made her jump didn't help. Even if she did manage to sleep, nightmares would wake her almost every hour, staying awake for a good while with tears in her eyes, wishing it would all just go away.

After a while, the fire had died down and Isinia had managed to fall back to sleep. Smoke seemed to rise from what used to be the camp fire as the sun started to rise from the horizon. Isinia began to awaken from the chirping birds that had perched nearby on some trees, a welcoming feeling that everything was well after surviving her first night. As she got out of the tent, the air seemed to be clean, the area being peaceful.

Satisfied that all was well she heads back into her backpack to retrieve her next packed up sandwich. She only had one more before she would have to go without food but thankfully there was another town just some miles due east. Just about an hour later she packs the tent up and starts to head out, though no matter how much she felt safe for now, unknown eyes were watching her, following her steps as well. Apparently danger had come to her already and wasn't about to stop following either as it continued.

Isinia took her time in getting to the next town, mostly enjoying the scenery and fresh air that the forest provided. There was only about ten more miles left in getting to next town and to be able to get onto a train to head out more easily. Little did she know that she wouldn't reach her destination as she suddenly blacked out. A tall orange and white male fox stood over her body with a smirk.
