Don't Even Attempt to Trick Her

"I only accept silver as payment," I said quietly to the person across the table. We were in the back corner of some underground bar. I had received a message from this person about a need for my particular services and was trying to discuss my terms. They were proving to be a difficult client though.

"I will pay you in gold," the man rebutted. "Dropped off only to you and only at the time of completion."

I shook my head vigorously, feeling the wolf start to scream out to just kill this one and take what they had. I looked at the person, a growl raising from my chest and my slate grey eyes focusing and dilating on them. My legs tensed up under the table, trying to avoid seeming any more threatening then I already was.

"No silver, no service. And it goes straight to my account, twenty-five percent and my consultation charge at the start, the rest when I bring you the head."

The person stayed silent and shook their head. They got up to leave, their cloak still fully covering their figure. I switched on the wolf scent as they turned and walked off. I memorized the smell iron and paint that trailed off of them. I would need that for tonight.

After all, they even forgot to pay me my consultation fee.

The moon was high in the sky, reminding me of the silver dollars back in America. I sat naked against a tree outside the village gates. It was past midnight and only travelers would leave at this time. They wouldn't notice me as they pulled their robes close to fight the cold desert air.

I waited for the wind to carry me the right smell, the mixture of iron and paint that told me my possible employer was a con. Such people never met with their targets in the city they lived in, so I could assume he would leave tonight.

The moon rose higher into the sky and I could feel my skin crawl and the hair on my body grow. Not yet, I told my other self. The wind picked up and blew the sand in circles and eventually throwing the grains against the wall of the village.

As it shifted I picked up a faint version of the smell I was waiting for. My eyes and noes began to shift from their human representation to their candid form. As the smell got strong I stood up and walked out from the shadow of the tree, my naked body bathing in the strong rays of the silver moon.

"Oi!" I screamed at the caravan. "You forgot my consultation fee."

A pair of seemingly yellow eyes glared at me. My naked body confused him, tempted him. My breasts and hips were something he had probably never seen before in such light. My freed dark red hair probably reminded him of something demonic.

"You shall not get a single coin."

"Than I shall have a life instead," I spoke sternly before allowing the wolf to take control. My body was so used to the change by now, it was seemingly painless, the joints readjusting and the bones taking on a differently length. My grey orbs never left him, enjoying the terror and disgust in his eyes, my body growing warm from the sight of his discomfort.

Even when in the wolf form, I was still about as large as my human version. When standing on my hind haunches I was only a few centimeters shorter. The color of my hair now covered virtually all of my body.

He screamed as I jumped at him, scaring his donkey. The ass took off running and I landed on the top of his little moving shack. He looked up at me, eyes frightened and pleading. He rummaged around in his cloak frantically, trying to keep his balance as the donkey bucked and scattered in any and all directions.

"Here! Have it all! This is everything! Please don't kill me demon!"

I growled deeply, licking my lips and shaking my head. It was to late for that. I jumped down on top of him, even now smelling that the coins were counterfeit. He screamed aloud once again, trying to push me off of him, hitting me in the jaw and trying to poke my eyes. I let out a growl that could have resembled a chuckle.

He screamed one more time, giving out this shrill sound as I lifted my paw and brought it down on his neck, crushing his wind pipe. My tail wagged as I heard him try to gasp for air. My muzzle tilted up and I howled at the moon, clearly announcing my victory. I felt him stop squirming under me and jumped off the caravan, allowing the scarred donkey to run away with the dead body and his clearly fake coins.
