Sweeping The Leaf Pile
A poem about fall, the leaves and the cleaning of them. Wrote this a while ago for the weekly theme of a discord server I'm in. Originally posted back in September 2020
Sweeping the Leaf Piles
By: A.X Bueno
Ah Fall and it's refreshing cool breeze
On it is carried many things most especially all those different colored leaves
As they're carried on the wind they scatter here and there
Before you know it there's a lot of them and they're scattered everywhere
The changing leaves are nice for sure but cleaning them can be pain
You usually have to do it often enough that it can become a real drain
But it's necessary to keep your yards clean to pick up these leaves
Oh these leaves that only have to stay on the branches and then fall with the wind off the trees
The life of a leaf is one of ease
But for the one cleaning them it is a struggle
Especially when it leaves you tired and you have other things in life to juggle
But it's worth it to just look at those lovely leaves
From the big brown pointed ones to the small yellow circular ones that all must be retrieved
Their beauty can only be appreciated for a short time before off the sidewalks and streets they must be cleaned
They drop all through the fall months though so to keep free of their clutter you'll have to often reconvene
That just gives more time to admire the beauty in the different colors and sizes
You can do it even with the leaf piles you organize
It's important to recognize something while it lasts
Savor the falling leaves and autumn even while clearing a path
For soon enough the season and the leaf piles will be all gone
But that's not important to dwell on
The crunch of the fallen leaves in the piles and the fall come in cycles
So even if you don't take the time to savor it while cleaning you can sit idle and wait for the seasons revival
