Chapter 2

Sunset awoke to find Lacyus staring sleepily at her.

She smiled, still weak from the night before. "Hey."

Lacyus simply pulled her in and kissed her. "Feel up to some more?" He offered.

Sunset reached down and felt his growing erection. She rolled on top of him and guided the cock in. Pleasure began to rise in her body as the member entered her vagina again. Her hips began to pump and Sunset moaned. Lacyus neck curved down and he began to suck on her breast. She felt her milk begin to squirt out. Sunset's climax and Lacyus ejaculation came at the same time, but both were not as violent. Sunset just moaned and collapsed on top of Lacyus, falling asleep still impaled on his cock.

She woke again to find herself bundled tightly in the blankets. Lacyus was sitting near the fire, heating a kettle of something on it. Sunset sat up, covering herself with the blankets, in case anyone else was there. Lacyus took the kettle, poured it's contents into a small washbasin and brought it over to her.

"You might wanna wash up." he said, handing her a mirror. Sunset took it and looked at her face. White, dried up drops of cum dotted it.

Blushing, she rinsed her body down, taking off any notice of their past "activities." Getting up, she quickly dressed herself in some new clothes Lacyus has brought her. Together, they sat by the fire eating breakfast, chatting quietly until the fire began to burn down. Lacyus got up.

"I'm gonna go get some new firewood."

As Lacyus left the cave, a pit formed in Sunset's stomach. It was like something bad was going to happen. She force the thought out of her mind and tried to focus on something else.

Suddenly, there was a clatter outside.

"What? SHIT!" It was Lacyus. Something was wrong. "SUNSET, HELP!!!!!"

Sunset heart stopped. She ran outside to find Lacyus with his claws dug into the ground fighting against the pull of a portal.

"LACYUS!! HOLD ON!!" Sunset was desperate to help Lacyus. She wrapped her tail around a rock and began to edge forward toward.

However, it was too little, too late. Lacyus began to slide backwards, his claws digging furrows in the ground. He lost his grip and flew back into the portal, disappearing in a flash of light, blinding Sunset.

When her vision cleared, there was no signs of the portal. No markings, no flames and most importantly, no Lacyus.

Sunset sank to her knees, eyes filling with tears.

'No, no, no. This can't be happing.' But it was. She called out several times in a futile effort to locate her mate. The initial shock began to wear away and she began to shake.

Sunset starting sobbing, quietly at first, then they turned into howls of sorrow, head cradled in her hands. He was her best friend and lover. Living without him just seemed incomprehensible. It felt like she was two years old again, alone, with the whole world hunting her.

"Hey, hey, hey, what's wrong?" Sunset turned to see Mira, now eighteen years old, running towards her. She knelt down, a look of deep concern etched on her face. She spoke softly. "Where's Lacyus?"

"He's gone!" Sunset wailed. "I dunno what happened. He was sucked into a portal and- and-....." She broke down sobbing again, shaking violently.

"What? Did you say 'portal?'" Mira said calmly, trying to comfort Sunset.

Sunset nodded. "I dunno what it was. It was sucking everything in. When Lacyus got in, it just disappeared in a flash of light."

Someone dropped a backpack in front of Sunset. She looked up to see Lacyus' parents staring at her coldly.

"Leave. Now." The father commanded.

Sunset was still shaking. "Wh-What?"

"I said leave. Now do it." He said remorselessly.

The mother spoke. "You have no place in this familly as a shapeshifter. The only reason we accepted you is because our son loved you. And now he's gone because of you. Now leave!"

Sunset began to obey, but Mira stopped her.

"Sunset isn't leaving. She needs a home." She commanded

"If you feel that strongly, then you can leave too, but we keep your stuff." The mother said. "You get nothing. No money, no food, no weapons to hunt with."

That stopped Mira in her tracks. She turned to Sunset, about to cry.

"Sorry..."

Sunset nodded, understanding Mira's situation. She picked up the backpack and started walking to the main road, head hung low. She could hear Mira sobbing softly.

Before Sunset could truly leave there was something she had to pick up.

Lacyus ran for his life, faster than he thought his frail human body could even go. Scratches lined his face and arms and blood seeped from gashes in his cheek and leg.

'How can humans survive with such frail bodies?'

He turned down another alleyway, jumping over trash cans. He took another right, trying to loose the gang on his trail. They wanted the gold coins in his pockets. He figured that, wherever he was, gold was worth a lot for them to be chasing him that persistently. He took another corner, narrowly missing a hobo pushing a unusual looking cart. The hobo must have realized what was going on.

"It's a dead end!" he yelled.

But it was too late. By the time Lacyus had stopped, the gang had caught up. They cornered him, closing in on every side. Lacyus was ready to go out fighting, despite his frail body.

Suddenly, off of a rooftop, a Xenomorph vixen dropped into the alleyway. She set her feet apart in an agressive stance and snarled. Some of the gang screamed at the sight of her. Others ran for their lives. The vixen bolted forward, baring it's teeth.

The gang could not have moved any faster than it did. As soon as the gang left the vixen relaxed, turning towards Lacyus, walking with an elegant step. Rich, red and pearly white fur covered it head to toe. it was wearing a tight tank top and jeans. A bushy, red and white tipped tail flowed smoothly behind her. She gave a reassuring smile.

"You seem to like getting in trouble, eh?" She said, smiling.

"Thanks." Lacyus mumbled. He felt the familiar icy feeling of adrenaline melting away.

The vixen leaned close and smelled him. "You're a dragon, right?" She deduced. "And you have a mate already? A virgin dragoness? Well, actually, was a virgin until lately. Lucky guy."

Lacyus just couldn't take it anymore. "What's your name? And how did you know that?"

"Your scent gave you away. I can smell everything on you, including her cum." Lacyus blushed. She ruffled his hair. "I don't blame you. It's dragon mating season on Amorphis, right? I'm Sarah Robertson."

Lacyus started to stammer, wondering if she could smell other things on him. "I-I-I'm Lacyus Akival."

"You're gonna need to fit in. That means new clothes-" She jestured to Lacyus' tunic. "- a new home, a new family, and a new name. From now on, as far as you know, I'm your older sister. Your parents died before you could remember and you live with me."

Lacyus nodded. "What about my name? I don't think it would fit here."

"Sheesh. I thought I'd be naming my first litter, not renaming a stray Xeno. Okay, let's see...." She paused in thought. "How about Matheiu Robertson?"

"Sound good." Then it struck him. "SUNSET! Where is she?!?!?!" He began looking around, panicking.

"Woah, woah woah. Stop." Sarah seized him by the shoulders. "What are you talking about?"

"My mate, Sunset. She probably got sucked in too."

"Sorry, but I can't smell anyone here but you and I. No dragonesses."

"I see." Lacyus spirits plummeted.

Sarah smiled. "You'll find other friends here. Humans are nice and kind. At least most of them. And here, it's girlfriend, not mate. Humans take the meaning of mate as a action, not a person."

Lacyus nodded, feeling hollow inside. He never told anyone, but he and Sunset shared a special bond. A telepathic bond. Though no one else knew, they could sense each other's emotions, thoughts and communicate through the bond long before words even formed. Without her around, he couldn't sense her comforting presence in the back of his mind. It was literally a gaping void that he couldn't fill.

'I have to move on.' He forced himself to concentrate. 'I'll find a way to go back.'

Huron, a male wolf Xenomorph forty six years of age, cleaned the counters in his store, a weapons store. He had grey-white fur with a white tail that curved over. In the corner sat a special package for a special customer.

The door bell jingled and Sunset entered, her usual cheery self.

"Hello Huron. Has my package arrived?" She asked smiling.

"Yes it has." He heaved the long box onto the table and opened it. Two long claymores with gold leafed hilts sat on the counter.

"Can I look?" Sunset asked, eagerly, smiling at the swords.

Huron handed her one sword. She hefted it, taking it out of it's sheath. The black ebony blade glistened in the torch light that lit his shop. "It's beautiful." She whispered. Replacing it in it's sheath, she picked both up.

"One question. You prefer to use Naginatas. Who are these for?" Huron asked.

"They're for Lacyus. His thirteenth birthday is coming up." Sunset said, standing in the door.

"Well, wish him a happy birthday for me." Huron requested as Sunset left the shop.

Huron returned to cleaning the shop. Fifteen minutes later, Alora (Lacyus' Mother) came in the door, howling in sorrow.

"Huron! Lacyus is gone!" She sobbed.

"WHAT! What do you mean gone!?!?!" Huron roared, shocked.

"Sunset.... She cast a portal spell and sucked him into it."

Rage clouded Huron's judgment. "She just came and picked up a pair of claymores for Lacyus.

Alora's eyes filled with similar rage. "I'm gonna kill her!" She growled through clenched teeth.

***

Within ten minutes, a crowd assembled in the town square. All were intent on finding and killing Sunset to avenge Lacyus' disappearance. Lead by Alora and Byre (Lacyus' Father) they set out to find and kill the girl responsible for the loss.

***

Sunset sat in a gully, weeping silently. It was the hardest act she ever had to put up. Looking and sounding happy, when really her heart was in pieces. She wiped away the tears, wrapping the two swords with a band of cloth.

The was a clatter, followed by shouting and angry yells coming down the road. Sunset pressed herself deeper into the gulley. An angry mob passed by, carring axes, torches and any other weapons they could muster.

'No doubt they're out to kill me.' Sunset thought.

She finished wrapping the swords. She stopped crying, but that didn't help. Sunset was still torn up inside. Still she forced herself to clear her mind and concentrate. She transformed into her full harpy form. Sunset changed her skin color from its normal orange beige to a light blue.

Lashing the swords to her backpack, Sunset then put it on. She climbed out of the gully to the main road. Taking out a map, she plotted a two day route to Cobalus, the capital city of the area. She began to walk, devoid of any drive, and will to live.

The Ultimate test came when the hunting party and her crossed paths. They asked her if she had seen a small orange-biege and purple dragoness. She answered no, and they moved on.

After two hours of walking, she came across a travelers inn. She rented a room for the night, though she felt no need for sleep. Sunset unslung her pack onto the floor and collapsed onto the bed. The feathery wings felt foreign to her. Tears began to form in her eyes again.

"God, I'm so pathetic without him." She whispered for the sake of hearing her own voice.
