Elias and Jackal were outside the hut and have had a chat.

While they talked Elias uncovered his past and what happened.

The view in the eyes of Jackal was hardened and Elias could understand his feelings in a certain way right now.

>>I see and I feel you, Jackal.<< Elias said to him.

The young wolf looked up at the face of the fox. He was aware that this fox saved him from the cruelty of the storm. It was also this fox which granted him a restful night he hadn't for months. There was little he could do or say to make things worse. So Jackal still looked at him while Elias continued his sentence.

>>I know what you are talking about. Despite that, my past brought me to these mountains. I was forced to fight for my whole life. And I did not have had any choice that I could make.<< Elias said.

At this moment, Jackal was eager to learn his story.

>>What happened to you?<<

Elias looked to the ground and shortly after into the far distance of the horizon.

But it took for the fox a moment to gather his focus to tell the truth.

>>I was with a gang, also. Once a day we tried to rob a train. But the whole thing went deadly wrong. As we had stopped that train heavily armored guards dropped out of that damn fucked up train and started to shoot. My closest friends I had in this gang died instantly, right beneath me. They looked like a damn sieve. I retreated but several shots hit me.<<

Elias stopped his explanations and took a deep breath. Jackal did not like to say a word and so he waited patiently for him to continue on. A moment later Elias did so:

>>The rest of the gang I was with left me and they escaped without any thought of rescuing me nor did they try to find me later on. And the guards that saw me bleeding on the ground just smiled at me. I survived this due to the help of a foreigner that came by once the train was gone. He took me and brought me to his home. Months later he was slain by some shitasses that belonged to this gang. I killed all of them. Ripped their bellies and scattered their guts up on the floor. But some of them are still alive. I can not forgive them for what they have done.<<

Hatred was to be seen in the face of the fox and for that reason. Jackal understood what he felt in this moment when Elias turned against his former friends or gang. The same way he was feeling right now cause he was aware what the former gang of Jackal was capable of.

>>I feel, Elias.<< Jackal said and laid his right paw on the left shoulder of the fox.

He looked up and into the face of the wolf. Elias smiled right at this moment because the wolf understood him. For the first time in his life he was able to talk to someone that felt the same way as him.

>>I am sorry if I ask but you said you had to fight for your whole life, before. You haven't been with this gang since your birth, haven't you?<<

Elias was still distracted by the face of the wolf but he was aware of the question he asked.

>>Of course I was.<<

Jackal's eyes got wide open once the fox told him this part of his story.

"Unbelievable!" he thought to himself.

But also Jackal could hardly have any doubts that the fox won't tell the truth. On the other hand, it makes him feel worse.

"He has had a worse start of his life than I had." Jackal thought.

>>Well... Elias. I am glad that you've made it this far. Guess you may have another opportunity to prevent your gang from fooling around just as I have. We should consider continuing our path together. As I understand, we both can help each other. What do you say?<<

The fox started to think about the offer Jackal made just now.

"It could work. And I also could stick with him." Elias thought.

All that the fox wanted right now was to stay close to Jackal right now. For some reason this wolf was able to give him a feeling he thought that it was gone forever.

A moment later Elias agreed.

>>Alright. I accept your offer and we leave together.<<
