#18 of A Voluptuous Lizard's Adventures in Skyrim

Keema and the others set forth to rescue Kodlak's spirit, but are they too late? And what will Shade do after being free from Sorex's slutty servitude?

Keema and the others fought their way through the chamber, and with a bit of encouragement from the others, they convinced Farkas and Vilkas to come with them, to conquer their fears as they went on.

Farkas developed a fear of the spiders ever since he went to dustman's cairn, making him unable to enter the room that contained them.

Keema and the others killed them for him, making it a bit easier to convince Farkas to continue.

But in the case of Vilkas, it was a different story.

"I don't know if I can keep going shield brothers and sisters" Vilkas said, as he hung his head low in shame.

"Why though? We're here now, we came all the way out here to pay our last respects to Kodlak, what's stopping you?" Athis asked him.

"It's... I just let my mind get clouded by vengeance, even though I knew the old man didn't want that. He would have wanted us to stay and prepare his funeral, silverhand or no silverhand, he would have wanted us to live our lives at peace, not like this. And I can't forgive myself for that, and I feel too ashamed to face him" Vilkas admitted to them.

Everyone stayed silent, and contemplated about forcing him to come along or leaving him behind.

Keema walked up to him and slapped his cheek.

"Do you seriously think that this is the time to act like a scared pup!? Kodlak's spirit is still a werewolf deep down, and you know he's in agony right now! You already came all the way here to help him, yet you don't want to see him? What will he think if all of us were to appear before him? What if you weren't there? Imagine the thoughts that would go through him? Do you want him to think you're ungrateful to him!?" Keema yelled at him.

The others were in shock by this outburst, they never saw Keema yell at someone before.

"... You're right. I should be there for him, especially now, I failed to protect him in Jorrvaskr, and by the gods I'll see to save him from his fate from Hircine till the end... Thank you for opening my eyes Keema, I was acting like a whelp there" Vilkas said, reinvigorated from her words.

Vilkas never let others talk to him like that, they were sure that Vilkas would have punched Keema right there but he didn't, perhaps he respected her?

"Let's go, we shouldn't keep Kodlak waiting for us" Keema told them.

Everyone followed her, battling their way and fighting the former companions warriors as they proved their mettle in battle to them, it was challenging but they persevered until they got to the final chamber.

They could see someone, a spirit warming themselves up against the flames of a brazier, the brazier had blue flames lit upon it, which was odd for them. Normally you'd expect flames to be red, but this one was blue, as if this flame was made for spirits.

They all drew their weapons against this spirit, but upon a closer look at it, they realized who it was.

"Kodlak!" Keema yelled as they ran over to him.

Kodlak's spirit was surprised, but was glad that they were all hear.

"Greetings shield brothers and sisters!" Kodlak told them.

"Old man!" Aela said, feeling relieved to see him.

"It really is you isn't it?" Farkas asked him.

"Master... I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough to defend you" Vilkas apologized to him.

Kodlak chuckled and put a hand on his shoulder.

"I told you Vilkas, I am nobody's master, you of all people should know that. And as for your failure, it was unavoidable, you all did the best you could. Perhaps my death would teach you all that the beast blood isn't worth fighting over, it's your choice, although I think it's more trouble than it's worth" Kodlak said.

Keema walked up to him.

"Kodlak... Is that really you?" Keema asked him.

"Ah Keema... Last I talked to you I had you go kill the witches... I'm sorry for sending you on a task, it must have been hard knowing that you could have helped defend the mead hall while you were away" Kodlak said sympathetically.

"Damn right I was... If I had known I wouldn't have done your bidding" Keema said as tears welled up in her eyes.

"It's not your fault Keema, in fact, it's not so bad. Me and my fellow harbringers have been warming ourselves in the fire and evading Hircine's grasps on our souls" Kodlak told them.

Everyone looked around, but all they could see was Kodlak.

"What harbingers? We only see you" Ria told him.

"You see only me because your hearts know only I as the companions leader. I'd wager Vignar can see at least a dozen of us here, and they all see you, you've all brought honor to the companions by restoring wuuthrad to it's former glory, and thus bringing honor to everyone before you now" Kodlak smiled at them.

"But you can be cured right old man?" Torvar asked him.

"Yes, I can still be cured... Keema, do you have the witch heads with you?" Kodlak asked her.

Keema brought the tiedup hagraven heads and showed it to him.

Excellent, throw one of them into the fire, it will release their magic, from me at least" Kodlak ordered her.

Everyone backed away as Keema threw a witch head into the fire, and they looked at Kodlak who seemed to clutch his spiritual body painfully, before a larger than normal, spiritual werewolf came out, and attacked them.

"Kill it!" Athis yelled, drawing his sword, while everybody followed and attacked the wolf.

The wolf was tough, and it had been more powerful than a normal feral wolf, which was bigger, faster, and stronger, but with the combined strength and numbers of the companions, they were able to dispatch it easily.

As the wolf died, it soon disappeared into thin air, and Kodlak's spiritual body recovered as he got up.

"Is... Is it done?" Farkas asked everyone.

"Is the werewolf dead?" Njada wondered as well.

Kodlak turned towards them, smiling at Keema.

"And so slain the beast inside of me. I thank you all for this gift. The other Harbingers remain trapped by Hircine, though. Perhaps from Sovngarde, the heroes of old can join me in their rescue. The Harrowing of the Hunting Grounds. It would be a battle of such triumph. And perhaps some day, you'll join us in that battle. But for today, return to Jorrvaskr. Triumph in your victory. And you Keema, I know now who will lead the Companions to further glory. You alone had the strength and will to lead, while not letting the beast blood get the better of you, or influence you in singling out anyone who didn't wish to have the power of the werewolf, or those who think it's a curse. It matters not, therefore, you are a leader most fitting for the companions" Kodlak told her.

Everyone turned towards Keema, she had just been granted the title of harbinger, everyone was slightly baffled by the thought of this argonian, who was a mere whelp a few months ago, was now the harbinger of the companions, but they were happy, knowing that she deserved such a title considering how she had been there for them through thick and thin, and how she always took the initiative to help those who couldn't pay for their services.

"... No, I don't deserve to be a harbinger" Keema said.

"K-Keema, it's such an honorable title, you shouldn't refuse such a thing" Ria said.

"If anything you deserve it" Athis joined in.

"If you're going to deny such a title, maybe I should be harbinger then" Njala said, she didn't like how it only took Keema a few months to be harbinger.

Everyone tried to encourage her, but Torvar had enough and stopped everyone.

"Everyone, enough! If she doesn't want to be the harbinger, then that's her decision. The responsibility of a harbinger is bigger than we think it should be" Torvar scolded everyone.

Everyone didn't know why she would refuse Kodlak's offer, but Torvar was right, they didn't have any right to force something they think she deserves.

"... Can you tell us the reason Keema?" Kodlak asked her.

"... I... I can't tell you the reason. But I can tell you that we're the companions, and nobody has to be in charge, every man or woman is their own. And despite that, we still protect each other, nobody follows orders from another within reason, and that's how it has always been, and how it should be" Keema reasoned with him.

"... I see that you have every bit of wisdom a harbinger of the companions should have. Very well, everyone, listen, from here on out, you're all on your own. You don't have to depend on a leader to make the right decisions, instead, you'll all have to work together to make them. There'll be newfound hardships for you as well, I only hope that Keema's decision guides you all to the right direction" Kodlak said, before he disappeared.

"Kodlak!" Vilkas yelled as he disappeared.

"He's... He's in Sovngarde, where he belongs" Aela said.

"This is good, it's the best outcome we could have hoped" Farkas said.

"Shall we go back? I don't know about you guys but this crypt is too cold for my taste" Athis said, rubbing his arms as he felt cold.

"I'm with you, I want a bottle of mead when I get back" Torvar said.

"Come on Njada, we can celebrate by having a fist fight" Ria offered Njada.

"Hey! I don't want to be a punching bag for that brute again" Athis yelled.

"I was gonna beat you up anyway, so might as well do it for sport" Njada said while cracking her knuckles.

The four of them left, with Keema, Vilkas, Aela, and Farkas being left behind.

"Shall we leave then my shield brothers and sisters?" Aela asked them.

"No, I think... I think I should become clean like the old man" Farkas said.

"Me too, I want to face the old man with more pride and dignity, and this beast blood is preventing me from making that a reality one day" Vilkas said and turned towards Keema.

"I can do that, but I only have two witch heads left. I'll try to find another glenmoril witch for Aela and I, if I want to cure myself" Keema informed them.

Aela turned towards her.

"No... I can't afford to go to Sovngarde" Aela told them.

"What? Why?" Keema asked her.

"Do you remember Skjor?" Aela asked her.

Skjor... That's right, he died as a werewolf, and he's probably a hound in Hircine's realm now... And Aela... She wants to...

"You want to see him again don't you?" Vilkas asked her.

Aela nodded to him.

"Very well, Keema, you'll have to cure yourself in the end, is that alright?" Farkas asked her.

"Yes, I'll find a way, somehow" Keema said before tossing two witch heads into the fire, as she and Aela brought out their weapons to slay Vlikas and Farkas' werewolf spirits.

...

Keema and the others soon arrived in whiterun, Vilkas and Farkas were ready to settle down and relax back to Jorrvaskr, but they did not expect to be greeted by all of the whiterun guards lead by commander Caius.

"You there, you're all coming with us" Caius told them, his sword drawn and ready to cut them down should they resist.

"What!? What crime have we committed!?" Farkas said.

"You and along with the other companions are under arrest for killing Olfrid Battleborn, now surrender now or face justice by our blades" Caius said, waiting for their response.

Keema realized that they found out about her accidental murder, the murder of Olfrid when she had transformed into a werewolf for the first time... And knew what had to be done.

"We surrender, but please let me explain, none of the other companions are at fault" Keema tried to tell Caius.

"That's for the jarl to decide, now move it to dragonsreach!" Caius said, and hauled them all to the jarl's palace.

...

Jarl Balgruuf had called in a private trial regarding the companions. The battleborns and gray manes weren't present, along with anybody else except for Balgruuf, Irileth, Proventus, Hrongar, Farengar, Lydia, and the rest of the companions leaders.

"The battleborns have told me that they want justice for the death of Olfrid Battleborn, and one of you may have played a part in it as werewolves... Is that true?" Jarl Balgruuf asked each and every one of the companions.

"That is true... And we got the shield of Ysgramor to prove it" Vilkas admitted, showing him the shield.

"I don't know if I can fully trust Eorlund Graymane's words that he didn't know about this, but I'll believe him for now. And this journal further explains that everything, all of the circle from before were werewolves as well?" Balgruf asked, holding Kodlak's journal.

"... Yes, that's his" Farkas said.

"Well that proves it, whether one of you or all of you is the culprit behind being a werewolf is none of my concern. But I have to punish someone, murder isn't easily forgivable, speak now and I may grant you a shorter sentence, so that I can inform the battleborns of the justice that gets carried out" Balgruuf told them.

Nobody spoke, knowing that a severe punishment would await them, it would be suicide to even do that.

Keema knew all too well that she was the one responsible for the bastard's death... But to preserve the integrity of the companions, she stepped up to take the blame.

"It was I, I was the werewolf who killed him" Keema admitted.

"...!" Everyone was surprised, especially the others who didn't know that she was the one who killed Olfrid.

"K-Keema? Are you serious? I... This is a lot to take in. You, the dragonborn, and thane of whiterun, killed one of the wealthiest and most prominent citizens? I... This is just... Why did you do it?" Jarl Balgruuf asked her.

"I didn't mean to, I just... I lost control. But hear me out, the others, they aren't werewolves, some of them were but they all got cured in Ysgramor's tomb" Keema explained to them.

"And you? What about you? Are you still a werewolf?" Balgruuf asked her.

"Yes I am... I didn't have enough witch's heads to burn in the tomb of Ysgramor, and... And I have more control on the beastblood now compared to before. Please... If anybody's going to be punished for killing someone in the city, it should be me" Keema declared.

"Keema... As much as it would be fair to punish you, I can't execute someone like the dragonborn, also Olfrid wasn't all that honorable in his words. After some investigation in Jorrvaskr, we found the imperial letter that was addressed to the battleborns. I don't know how it got there, but this incriminates the battleborns and would damage their reputations if it gets out. I understand the battleborns were dishonorable keeping this secret away from the gray manes, but I can't let the people know that the battleborn's dishonor, nor can I tell everyone the companions have werewolves in their midst, it will cause too much unrest and distrust... Which is why I, as a jarl, sentence you to temporary exile Keema. Gather your things, until you have cured yourself of the beastblood, you are exiled from whiterun hold. I'm sorry Keema, but it's for the best, but I won't forget the service you've done for our hold, so I won't tell anybody about this. You're destined for great things, so after you return here, I hope nothing like this happens again. We're rooting for you dragoneborn" Balgruuf said to her.

Everyone bowed down, paying respects to her birthright as dragonborn, including the guards.

Keema didn't want to be revered though, she just wanted to live a normal life like she used to with the companions. But ever since she came to live with them, she had somehow destroyed the peace and past life of the companions. Despite their praises, she didn't feel any better.

"Everyone is now dismissed in court, remember, this doesn't get out to the public, not even the gray manes and battleborns. You're all dismissed" Balgruuf dismissed everyone in the court.

Everyone turned toward Keema, they felt outraged by the punishment, she didn't deserve what had happened, but they couldn't speak knowing that if anybody else had taken the fall, the price would have been much worse.

"Goodbye... everyone" Keema said as she walked away.

"Hold on! You can't just leave us! We fought to take the silverhand down and brought Kodlak's spirit to rest, you can't leave us!" Aela told her.

"Aela... Drop it, it's her decision. She's grown from being a welp to a warrior, she's free to decide what she thinks is best" Farkas reminded her.

Aela stood down, knowing that what Farkas said was true.

"Wait! My thane!" Lydia's voice was heard as she ran over to Keema.

"Lydia... I'm sorry I couldn't be the ideal thane you might have imagined you'd be serving" Keema apologized to her.

"No Keema! You got it all wrong! You were the best thing that could have happened to us" Lydia said.

Farengar approached her.

"And you were more than a great help for our hold, we held our trust in you more than anyone. You're a hero to us all, if you hadn't taken the dragon stone to... Well, let's just say it has helped us out in some way" Farengar said, as if he's keeping something from her.

Keema didn't say anything, she felt like she ruined the hold, it would never be the same ever again knowing that everyone might see her as a monster who killed someone.

"Thanks Farengar and Lydia, but I still have to atone from what I've done" Keema said and turned around.

"Keema!" Vilkas yelled after her. "You're really leaving? After... After what we've been through?" Vilkas asked her.

"... Yes, I know it sounds unfair, but this is the best outcome for all of us" Keema said to him.

"Then I guess this is goodbye then... Let me accompany you out of whiterun, I... Don't think it'll be the same without you in the mead hall" Vilkas offered her.

"Thank you Vilkas" Keema said, and as they left dragonsreach and walked towards the whiterun stables, Keema boarded the carriage.

"I'll miss you Keema... I'll tell the others of your exile, just know that you'll be welcome back at anytime" Vilkas said, remembering all the adventures they had.

"I'll miss you too Vilkas, thank you for making me stronger" Keema said, smiling a bit.

Vilkas climbed into the carriage and gave her a kiss, which she returned, maybe if things turned out alright, maybe she could return one day.

Vilkas stepped down from the carriage, and waved her goodbye as the carriage started moving.

"Where do you want to go?" The carriage driver asked her.

Directionless, she didn't exactly have any of her own goals in mind, but she did know of some certain individuals that needed her help, and that was the werewolves.

"To falkreath" Keema said, she wanted to know if they really did wipe out the silverhand, and if the werewolves she had helped were alright. She had taken care of her family, now it was the werewolves turn for her to help them.

"So it's true... My prophecy is true after all... I ruin families... And I can't escape my fate..." Keema said to herself, remembering the prophecy his tribe had made about her.

...

Shade had endured 3 days... 3 days of embarrassing torure from Sorex.

For that whole time she was made to do embarrassing and vulgar things in public, she would be forced to take his cock behind the bushes, all the while nearby townsfolk would wonder where the noises would come from as Sorex dicked her down with his cock.

Sometimes when shopping for her pastime, Sorex would suddenly appear and grope her ass, it didn't help that the clothes she wore were so slutty (think of Nocturnal's clothes) that she swore that her ass was nearly visible just by looking behind her.

Worst of all was each night Sorex would fuck her, and not like when they first did it, he would drink some kind of potion and his cock would be rock hard again, starting the cycle of sex once more and making her cum over and over, her face giving a silly smile and her eyes rolling up from the near infinite pleasure she received from him.

She growled as she remembered everything, she was free from Sorex's service now with 5000 gold in her name, she stood with a regal, tight fitting (albeit none of the clothes in radiant raiment could contain her massive juggs) clothing, and a proper set of weapons. An imperial bow from the local fletcher hanging from her back, and a sharpened elven dagger on her hip.

She didn't have to wander for long before she found a job for herself, one that would be fitting for her expertise.

An argonian who was leaning by the wall caught her attention.

"You're passing through Solitude? Maybe you're looking to make some easy gold, yes?" The argonian asked her.

She looked at the rather handsome and muscular argonian in the leather armor, but stood her ground and looked fiercely at him.

"And? What did you have in mind? Why do you think you even have business with me?" Shade asked him.

"My apologies, my name is Jaree-Ra. It's easy to find things to sell. Things nobody will miss. Things from underground, or just left lying around in someone's house. I bet the two of us, we're very alike. So why not take the next step? We can help each other. My sister Deeja and I are treasure hunters. We like to collect things" Jaree-Ra explained to her.

"... I'm listening" Shade asked him, she was experienced in stealing many things for the thalmor in the past, like talos amulets from the homes of nords, assassinations, and even planting incriminating evidence, it was no surprise that she would accept such a task.

Jaree-Ra smirked, he knew he'd find a suitable pawn for his job.

Next chapter will be the Hircine questline, not sure if Keema gets cursed by Hircine along the way considering she's going to get his ring, maybe some sort of side effect from the ring that affects her in a slutty way, if you have any ideas on that part let me know. As for Shade, I might write it like her easily killing Deeja and the rest, and then killing the blackbloods and then sparing the others as she takes over leadership over captain Hargar in their base. Although would you rather she gets defeated and forced to have lesbian sex with Deeja and gangbanged by the pirates before taking over? Let me know in the comments
