Here's a belated Valentine's short between Yu and Sam!
So, Twilight Tales will be a mini-miniseries between updates of the miniseries By Moonlight:)
This tale takes place a week after Sam and Yu finally confess their love (see chapter 3) . Sam gets serious:)
"Here."
Under the moonlight streaming through the kitchen window,
Sam locked eyes with Yu's ruby ones, feeling his own face burn as he thrusted the handpicked bouquet at the rabbit.
Yu glanced quickly at the lilies and orchids, then gazed back into Sam's emerald stare, face devoid of any emotion.
The wolf blinked, and began to pant anxiously, stifling a whine .
It was hard to tell with Yu sometimes, if the rabbit was nonplussed, about the sudden gesture, he definitely wasn't showing it.
He had spent the last few days outside of work looking up the language of flowers, and consulting Hetty the florist down the street about the best arrangement as well. Did Yu understand what the flowers meant, how serious he was about their new relationship? More importantly, did he like them?
In a swift movement, Yu brushed the bouquet aside, averting his gaze.
Sam's ears and fluffy tailed drooped as his face grew hotter and his heart plunged.
Oh god...don't tell me, the confession last week was too soon..I knew I shouldn't have done that, shit...
He prepared to get up from his knees, but suddenly felt Yu's arms pressing down on his shoulders.
Yu stared at the, no, his silly, hulking wolf, muzzles level, and kissed him, none too gently.
This resulted in Yu suddenly smashing his face into Sam's snout, resulting in both of them knocking each other away
and rolling on the floor , cradling their jaws.
"Awww, shit... sorry Sammy,..are you okay?!"
"Aggh, dammnit... I'm fine...mighta lost a tooth, ...what the hell was that for?!"
Yu crawled over to the wolf, nursing his lips as he helped Sam to sit up before hugging Sam, burying his face into the wolf's fluffy chest.
He loved Sam, even how oddly slow he could be at times (that was an obvious kiss!).
Yu sighed in happy embarassment, nuzzling further into that cedar-scented fur, Sam resting a large paws between his long and fluffy ears.
"Yu?"
The rabbit blushed, they'd kissed before, but somehow, it was...really...well, damned difficult to say stuff like that out loud. Well, here goes...
"A ki..."
Dammnit...why is this so awkward to say?!
Sam leaned in closer to his rabbit, even more confused.
_"_A ki-!"
"Hunh?"
Yu sighed, face now positively roasting in Sam's fluffy chest. _Now or never. _Inhaling deeply of Sam's cedar scent, he bellowed:
"I said, it was a kiss, dumbass!"
It took a while Yu's confession to make sense in Sam's mind, and when it did, he smiled maniacally, tail whipping up a storm.
Fuck yeah! He got the flowers' message!!
Sam pulled Yu closer to him, snuffling (carefully of course, his muzzle still smarted from Yu's 'kiss') and licking the rabbit's pretty face.
"Aghhh, wolf breath-"
"Oi, I just had some min-mmph"
Yu had playfully swallowed Sam's tongue, cheeks bulging with it. He smirked at the wolf.
"Hah, wabbit goff your tunf-mmph"
Sam leaned forward and down, deepening the kiss as he gently guided Yu toward the floor...
Luc slammed the kitchen door open, giant frame bristling in the doorway.
"Are you guys alright?! I heard a loud noi...."
The giant cat clapped a paw over his mouth at the sight of the beefy wolf and his cousin making out
on the floor. They hadn't seen or heard him come upstairs from the cafe, much less him slamming open the door.
"OH! oh god....I'll be.. uh...I'll be ..cleaning up ..something downstairs..I'll leave you two to ..er it."
Luc gingerly closed the door and tiptoed downstairs, his face now feeling hot, slacks feeling rather tight...
