#32 of Pokemon - To Catch Them All

Leo explores Dragon's Den and begins finalising his Johto Pokedex before he returns to Kanto

After my Pokemon were fully healed I headed on over to the gym once again but instead of entering I headed over to the lake and called out a Water Pokemon. "Lanturn come out!" Lanturn appeared swimming in the lake before I asked whether Lanturn could get my through to Dragon's Den. Lanturn happily agreed and allowed me to climb aboard before swimming to the edge where I thanked Lanturn for the short trip. "Return Lanturn, thank you" at that I entered the Dragon's den. I heard that deep inside Dragon's Den you could find Dratini and even the every rare Dragonair. However, those Pokemon had already been registered to my Pokedex. I was mainly here on the belief that somewhere deep inside Dragon's Den there was a Dragon Scale and that could be used to evolve my Seadra into a Kingdra.

I descended down the first level and was challenged by a Ace Trainer who sent out a Dragonair and I sent out my Mamoswine having him use Ice Fang defeating Dragonair. Eventually I came across a broken bridge that descended into a lake meaning I'd need a Water Pokemon once more to help me traverse the lake. "Gyarados I need your help!" Gyarados appeared roaring his entrance before understanding what I needed and grabbed me gently in his jaws before depositing him on the top of his head. At that he swam across the lake, keeping an eye out for any potential threats to his trainer and himself too. Upon getting to the edge Gyarados waited for me to continue my exploration before I came back. An Ace Trainer came and challenged me with a Horsea and I sent out Ampharos having him use Thunder Punch defeating Horsea. This was done again against the second Horsea before the final Pokemon sent out was a Seadra. My Ampharos used another Thunder Punch defeating Seadra too.

Gyarados continued to explore the lake and deposited me back on the ground where I was challenged by two twins who each sent out Dratini and I sent out my Jynx and Delibird who each used Present and Ice Beam to defeat the two Dratini's. While exploring I came across a tower and figured this must be the den itself. To get there however, there were some whirlpools that were blocking the way. Luckily Gyarados was strong enough to push through the whirlpool with no difficulties and that meant I reached the den. Upon entering an elder approached me curious as to what a trainer such as myself was doing here. "I heard that Dragon Scales could be found here, that's what I am searching for." I informed the elder and he hummed thoughtfully. "I have seen a rare few Dragon Scales in my time, but if you follow the lake past the tower, you will come across a area, where Dragon Fangs and Dragon Scales are known to be found. However, the Dragon Pokemon may challenge you if they deem you unworthy of possessing such power. I wish you luck." At that I left with the knowledge of what I needed to do.

Gyarados once more grabbed me and placed me on his head before approaching the area the elder spoke off. There were a few Dragonair's that eyes Gyarados with curiosity and some with even respect and as such. We were allowed entry to the inner sanctum where upon searching I came across both a Dragon Scale and a Dragon Fang both incredible items to have for the future. I had what I needed and decided to leave the Dragon's Den and continue on my journey. Before doing so I brought back my Seadra from Kanto and showed him the Dragon Scale I had acquired.

"Seadra come on out!" Seadra appeared happy to see me after a little time apart. "Seadra have a look at this, it's a Dragon Scale, if I give this two you, you can evolve if you'd like." Seadra accepted the Dragon Scale and after a quick temporary trade I received Seadra back, but when exiting the Pokeball Seadra began evolving into a Kingdra. "Kingdra has been registered to your Pokedex. Kingdra the Dragon Pokemon a Water and Dragon Type. It lives in caves on the seafloor and creates giant whirlpools every time it moves." Kingdra was happy to have reached his final evolved form and I was happy for him as well. Now he had gained the Dragon typing and had even learned some powerful new moves, like Dragon Pulse. That would be excellent for the future.

At that I headed south to Route 45 and decided to have a look around and was surprised to see that this route connected back to Dark Cave. Now that I was more experience I decided to enter and see what Pokemon lived inside and hoped maybe there would be some new encounters for me. "Come out Ampharos!" Ampharos appeared realising why he was called out, Ampharos lit up the cave with Flash and as a result we were suddenly swamped by Zubat that attacked the source of the light. Ampharos however, dealt with the bats as quick as possible. An unexpected Pokemon that I found while exploring was a Dunsparce that had appeared from under the ground. "Ampharos use Power Gem!" Ampharos used Power Gem against Dunsparce which weakened Dunsparce enough for me to throw a Pokeball. I watched as the Pokeball shook once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Dunsparce has been registered to your Pokedex. Dunsparce the Land Snake Pokemon a Normal Type. It digs into the ground with its tail and makes a mazelike nest. It can fly just a little."

Dunsparce was a shy and nervous Pokemon and in the beginning when we were introducing ourselves, the little Dunsparce dug into the ground nervously poking around as he watched his new trainer. Ampharos was quick to encourage Dunsparce that Leo was a wonderful and kind loving trainer who would take care of Dunsparce. That seemed to convince Dunsparce and he was much more approachable and confident and showed himself to be a good battler against the Zubat's that decided now was the best time to attack the intruding trainer. A single Ancient Power drove the Zubat's away with super effective damage. I returned south back to Route 45 and began searching in the grass for new Pokemon to catch.

Exploring the grass I came across my first new encounter, a small cute bear, Teddiursa and I decided to have a go at catching it by sending out my Quagsire. "Quagsire use Mud Bomb!" Teddiursa tried to use Fury Swipes but Quagsire dodged. "Pokeball go!" I watched as the Pokeball shook once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Teddiursa has been registered to your Pokedex. Teddiursa the Little Bear Pokemon a Normal Type. It lets honey soak into its paws so it can lick them all at the same time. Every set of paws tastes unique." Teddiursa was such a cute and lively Pokemon and was more than happy to have a trainer. Teddiursa also had a complete personality change when battling and became vicious and merciless against opponents, but with me preferred cuddles and head pats.

I continued exploring and came across a Phanpy and decided to have a go at catching it as well. "Come out Azumarill!" Azumarill appeared happily swinging his tail before staring down the Phnapy. "Use Aqua Tail!" Phanpy couldn't do much as he was struck by Aqua Tail. I threw a Pokeball and watched as the Pokeball shook once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Phanpy has been registered to your Pokedex. Phanpy the Long Nose Pokemon a Ground Type. It is strong despite its compact size. It can easily pick up and carry an adult human on its back." Phanpy proved that by easily picking me up with its trunk and transporting me across the route to which I eventually came across yet another new Pokemon to catch.

Phanpy eventually released me when I came across a Gligar which hovered over the ground, we were in a mountainous area, so I guess it wasn't all that surprising to find a Gligar here. "Come out Poliwhirl!" Poliwhirl appeared staring down Gligar who grinned in excitement. "Poliwhirl Bubble Beam!" Poliwhirl blew Bubbles right at Gligar who just barely dodged by using the breeze. "Poliwhirl another Bubble Beam!" Poliwhirl fired again and aimed perfectly striking down Gligar before it could even dodge this time. "Pokeball go!" I watched as the Pokeball shook once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Gligar has been registered to your Pokedex. Gligar the Flyscorpion Pokemon a Ground and Flying Type. It sails on the winds with its limbs extended to strike from the sky. It aims for the preys face." Gligar was yet another new Pokemon but it wasn't the last one.

Hearing the commotion of a battle attracted one of the strongest Pokemon that lived here on Route 45, it was a Skarmory and it looked very strong compared to the other Pokemon I'd caught so far. "Come out Typhlosion!" I knew I needed super effective moves to bring down even a Skarmory but Skarmory seemed very confident even against a Fire Type. "Typhlosion use Flamethrower!" Typhlosion fired Flamethrower but Skamory dodged by flying low to the ground. Then Skamory used Steel Wing and flew right at Typhlosion, talk about extreme confidence. "Typhlosion catch it!" Typhlosion grabbed a hold of Steel Wing and Skarmory preventing it from escaping. Skarmory was slightly concerned but still used Swift scoring a good hit against Typhlosion. "Use Flamethrower!" Typhlosion scored a direct hit with Flamethrower sending Skarmory plummeting to the ground finally defeated after a surprisingly tough battle.

"Pokeball go!" I watched as the Pokeball shook, once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Skarmory has been registered to your Pokedex. Skarmory the Armor Bird Pokemon a Steel and Flying Type. Skarmory is clad entirely in ironhard armour. It flies at speeds over 180 mph." I released Skarmory and had him healed up impressive at the power and skill and determination he showed. Even Typhlosion was impressed and the two became fast friends and even rivals. I also had a Pokemon that could fly me around if ever Noctowl was exhausted. Something that Skarmory was extremely happy to do. After that I checked the Rotom Phone and that was all the new Pokemon caught.

I continued south and began battling some trainers, though this specific route was designed to make people choose between one side and the other. However, I had my Pokemon help me get across specific ledges to reach specific trainers. All to ensure that my Pokemon got stronger. A Bird Keeper challenged me with a Pidgey and a Pidgeotto but both were defeated by my new Dunsparce's Ancient Power. Next was a Hiker who sent out two Machop which were dispatched by my Togetic used Extrasensory and then a Graveler which was defeated by Skarmory's Steel Wing. An Ace Trainer then challenged me with a Marill and I sent out my Jumpluff who used Seed Bomb and then twice against two Wartortle. A Black Belt was next and sent out a Machoke and I sent out my Octillery having him use Psybeam defeating Machoke.

The next Hiker sent out the entire evolutionary line of Geodude, Graveler and Golem and I defeated each of them with Azumarill and his Aqua Tail. The next Hiker sent out both Diglett and Dugtrio and I sent out my Mantine having him use Water Pulse defeating both opponents. The next Hiker sent out just an Onix and I sent out my Corsola having him use Bubble Beam defeating Onix. At that I returned back to Route 46 and was challenged by a Hiker who sent out an entire team of Geodude but Heracross handled them with Brick Break. At that I decided I would check my Pokedex to see what Pokemon I still needed to catch that weren't legendary and I was missing a few still.

However, there were some places I hadn't explored in Johto and one of those places was Mt Mortar by Mahogany Town and so I had Skarmory fly me right back to Mahogany Town and I headed West entering Mt Mortar. Inside I was challenged by a Super Nerd who sent out a Slowpoke and I sent out my Teddiursa having him use Fury Swipes defeating Slowpoke. Thanks to that, Teddiursa had already begun to evolve. "Ursaring has been registered to your Pokedex. Ursaring the Hibernator Pokemon a Normal Type. In its territory, it leaves scratches on trees that bear delicious berries or fruits." Ursaring was much bigger than its pre evolved form Teddiursa but still maintained he cute demeanour even though it didn't quite work with his much bigger size and that he now towered over me in height. Exploring further I was challenged by a Pokemaniac who sent out a Nidoking which I had my Phanpy come out and use Bulldoze defeating Nidoking and then using Bulldoze again defeating Nidoqueen as well.

As a result of defeating such powerful Pokemon, Phanpy suddenly began evolving, "Donphan has been registered to your Pokedex. Donphan the Armor Pokemon a Ground Type. It attacks by rolling up and curling into its foe. It can blow apart a house with one hit." Donphan was much stronger after evolving and it now was more realistic to me that he could now carry me through the cave much more than his pre evolved form could. Heading down levels into the cave, a Super Nerd challenged me with a Seadra and I sent out my Sunflora having him use Leaf Blade defeating Seadra. On the very bottom of the cave, I heard the sounds of strict fighting, boulders being crushed and decided to head on over and investigate.

When I got close I saw a man training his Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee, but he also had a Tyrogue observing them. "Hmm, it appears as though I have an unexpected guest. Perhaps you could indulge me young trainer. I am known as the Karate King and was a former member of the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City. Perhaps you know of it. However, my question is, are you a strong enough trainer, to help this Tyrogue reach new levels of strength. Show me if you will!" At that the Tyrogue darted forward to observe it's future trainers battling skill.

The Karate Kings first choice was his Hitmonchan and I sent out my Noctowl, having type advantage didn't mean anything and I knew that from all my travels. Noctowl's Air Slash however defeated the Hitmonchan and then again with the Hitmonlee too. Tyrogue was happy at the result dancing up and down at my feet before he turned to face the Karate King. "Well, I hadn't expected that result. However, that means you are worthy of helping this Tyrogue reach new levels of strength. Please take that Tyrogue with you and work together to be the ultimate team." At that he handed me Tyrogue's Pokeball and my Rotom Phone registered the new Pokemon.

"Tyrogue has been registered to your Pokedex. Tyrogue the Scuffle Pokemon a Fighting Type. It is famous for its eagerness to fight and always nurses injuries from challenging larger foes." I exited Mt Mortar before I decided to show Tyrogue the evolutions he possessed and the ones I already had from Kanto. Upon seeing that I already had a Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee it made the Tyrogue desire to evolve and show me he could live up to my expectations. As such me and Tyrogue travelled through Johto challenging every opponent we could and worked to grow stronger together.

Tyrogue was a very determined Pokemon and probably very impatient as well, if I was going to slow for Tyrogue's liking he encouraged me to go quicker to get stronger like he could. Tyrogue was definitely a high maintenance Pokemon but those were the Pokemon I enjoyed training the most. Eventually after some arduous training, Tyrogue began glowing signalling his evolution and I was curious as to which evolution Tyrogue would become. Eventually the glow faded and before me was a Hitmontop. "Hitmontop has been registered to your Pokedex. Hitmontop the Handstand Pokemon a Fighting Type. It fights while spinning like a top. The centrifugal force boosts its destructive power by a factor of ten." Hitmontop was very happy at having evolved and showed me by spinning rapidly on his head while kicking the air.

Now that was done I checked the other Pokemon I needed to catch before I ended up returning to Kanto for my next journey. There was Igglybuff and Cleffa two baby Pokemon that I hadn't come across in Johto and there wasn't much information about their locations in Johto. However, according to Rotom's database, they could be commonly found in the Sinnoh Region. As such I put a hold on catching them until I reached Sinnoh for now. Next was Natu a Pokemon I hadn't come across and it was no wonder, according to Rotom they were rarely found in the Ruins of Alph. I had caught Unown there and had believed that was the only Pokemon that could be caught there.

As such, a quick flight there and I began searching through the Ruins of Alph searching for Natu and eventually I came across one that stared right through me. I wondered if it had been waiting for me, or knew I would come here to find it. I sent out Pikachu and had him use Thunderbolt weakening Natu enough for me to throw a Pokeball and watch as it shook, once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Natu has been registered to your Pokedex. Natu the Tiny Bird Pokemon a Psychic and Flying Type. It picks food from cactus plants, deftly avoiding buds and spines. It seems to skip about to move." Natu was a curious little Pokemon and showed me his unique way of moving around. Hopping was definitely unexpected for a Flying Type, but it was kind of cute in some way to me.

After training together against some wild Pokemon and trainers who wanted rematches Natu had already begun to evolve. "Xatu has been registered to your Pokedex. Xatu the Mystic Pokemon a Psychic and Flying Type. They say it stays still and quiet because it is seeing both the past and the future at the same time." Xatu stared into my eyes watching them briefly, I wondered what he was seeing, was it my past or my future with Xatu. Xatu was observing his new trainer and understanding the future he would have, in order to better know how to protect him. What Xatu saw was both incredible and overwhelming for him, seeing his trainer shrouded in Pokemon from all regions. It was quite a sight to behold. Xatu eventually stopped his future sight and smiled at me refusing to say what he had seen to avoid changing the future that could be set in stone.

Poliwhirl needed to have a certain item in order to evolve into a Politoed and I had begun researching on where I might be able to find or even buy it. I needed two off those one for the Poliwhirl and one for my Slowpoke to become a Slowking. I also wanted to find two Metal Coats, one for Onix and one for Scyther. However, my luck had eventually returned and I came across a rumour circulating online that a shop keeper in Goldenrod City sold evolutionary items, such as stones and Metal Coats and Kings Rock which would be great. I also intended on getting two Dusk Stones, one for Misdreavus and another for Murkrow too. As such my next destination was Goldenrod City.

Skamory happily flew me to Goldenrod and I began exploring the department store and looked around before finding someone who seemed to be selling evolutionary items. The shopkeeper seemed to recognise me as he asked, "one moment young man, aren't you the brave young trainer who stopped Team Rocket, when they tried to take over the Radio Tower?" I nodded my head at that impressed that someone remembered me. "I thought so, tell me what you want and you can have it at a discounted price as my way of saying thank you."

At that I asked for two Dusk Stones, which he gave me for only 5,000 Pokedollars and two Kings Rock and two Metal Coats each for 10,000 Pokedollars. I also got a Razor Claw and Razor Fang. I thanked him extensively and left happily with everything I needed. I decided to begin my bringing out Misdreavus and Murkrow and the two Pokemon appeared curious wondering what was up. "Misdreavus and Murkrow, would you like to evolve, I have your respective evolutionary stones here, if you want?" At that both Pokemon shot forward and grabbed the evolutionary stones happily.

First was Murkrow who evolved into a powerful looking Honchkrow. "Honchkrow has been registered to your Pokedex. Honchkrow the Big Boss Pokemon a Dark and Flying Type. It makes its Murkrow cronies bring it food. It idles its time away, grooming itself in its nest." Honchkrow looked incredible and definitely deserved the title of Big Boss Pokemon, I couldn't see any Pokemon daring to even mess with him and Honchkrow definitely gained an aura of assertiveness though he never bossed me around knowing that I was his trainer and came above even him. That's what Honchkrow believed at least.

My ponderings were interrupted when Misdreavus began evolving. "Mismagius has been registered to your Pokedex. Mismagius the Magical Pokemon a Ghost Type. It chants incantations. While these incantations can torment targets, some bring happiness." I learned that when Mismagius began performing an incantation and instead of bringing me sorrowful, I felt extremely happy. Though I already was happy surrounded by such loving Pokemon. At that I got the next two Pokemon to come out, those being Slowpoke and Poliwhirl and showed them the Kings Rock that they needed in order to evolve.

Poliwhirl eagerly accepted the Kings Rock, while Slowpoke was a bit slower, but did accept it with as much enthusiasm as he could show me. A quick trade and when I released them both they began evolving and first was Slowpoke who evolved into a Slowking. "Slowking has been registered to your Pokedex. Slowking the Royal Pokemon a Water and Psychic Type. Slowking can solve any problem presented to it, but no one can understand a thing Slowking says." Slowking was happy to have evolved and definitely looked like a royal Pokemon. Slowking definitely had the aura of a Pokemon that was wise and intelligent, like my Alakazam and even Xatu were. I could see Slowking making good friends with those respective Pokemon.

My attention was turned to Poliwhirl who began evolving too, "Politoed has been registered to your Pokedex. Politoed the Frog Pokemon a Water Type. A group of Poliwag and Poliwhirl will form with a Politoed as the leader. Politoed's cries make the Pokemon of the group obey." Politoed was a cheerful Pokemon very happy to have evolved and was definitely different from Poliwrath who enjoyed fighting since he was a Fighting Type. But Politoed seemed like he would be a good match for Poliwrath, perhaps help him relax and take things slow some time.

After they had evolved the next ones were up and I brought Scyther and Onix out and they were equally happy to see me. Scyther approached quick as light wrapping me up carefully in a hug avoiding cutting me with his sharp scythes. When he released me after seeing me again, I was grabbed even tighter by a equally happy Onix who wrapped me up in a stony powerful hug. Eventually he released me and I showed them the Metal Coats that if they held they could evolve. Scyther and Onix happily accepted the items and a quick trade later and they began evolving into completely different Pokemon.

First was Onix, who was already a large Pokemon, after evolution he became a Steelix a much larger Pokemon. "Steelix has been registered to your Pokedex. Steelix the Iron Snake Pokemon a Steel and Ground Type. It chews its way through boulders with its sturdy jaws. Its eyes can see in the darkness underground." Steelix happily picked me up and gave me another hug before he realised that he was now much stronger and eased the pressure on his hug much to my relief. Though I was happy that Steelix had reached his evolutionary form.

My musing was interrupted when I turned to face Scyther who had evolved into a Steelix an awesome Pokemon, that looked so regal and handsome with his shining red body. "Scizor has been registered to your Pokedex. Scizor the Pincer Pokemon a Bug and Steel Type. It has a steel-hard body. It intimidates foes with its eye-patterned pincers." Scizor was very happy at evolving and stared down at me happily. I was beginning to think I was getting shorter surrounded by Pokemon that were growing far taller than me. Still I happily embraced Scizor happy that he had evolved like he had always wanted to.

Gligar had been training with me for a while and had learned some new moves, being Guillotine and Night Slash too. Upon being presented with the Razor Fang in order to evolve. Gligar decided there was no harm in not evolving and accepted. When the glow faded a Gliscor stood before me. "Gliscor has been registered to your Pokedex. Gliscor the Fang Scorp Pokemon a Ground and Flying Type. It observes prey while hanging inverted from branches. When the chance presents itself, Gliscor swoops!" Gliscor looked incredible and surprisingly cute too, he was still kind hearted and very in need of hugs whenever he could. He even wrapped his tail around my waist whenever he wanted.

After that was done the next Pokemon I searched for was a Pokemon that lived in the lakes of Route 32 a Qwilfish a Pokemon I hadn't actually seen when I explored that route. After having Xatu fly me over to Route 32 I began exploring the lakes thoroughly and came across a Qwilfish. Xatu battled the Qwilfish weakening it with Psychic allowing me to throw a Pokeball and watch as it shook, once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Qwilfish has been registered to your Pokedex. Qwilfish the Balloon Pokemon a Water and Poison Type. It shoots the poison spikes on its body in all directions. Its round form makes it a poor swimmer." I couldn't believe I'd missed Qwilfish, but I'd caught it now and was very happy to have a new partner and friend to my ever growing family. Qwilfish seemed more than happy to be caught so it was a win win.

Next was Sneasel and I learned that very rarely they could be found deep inside Ice Path, which confused me as I had believed I explored the entirety of the cave with Typhlosion but apparently I had missed an area or to. As such, Skarmory flew me back to Blackthorn City and I headed back to Ice Path exploring but bringing out Typhlosion who kept me warm without me even needing to ask. I looked far and wide with Typhlosion helping me across the ice, when an Icy Wind struck Typhlosion. It didn't even faze him and he turned around seeing a smirking and smug Sneasel who looked to be trying to pick a fight with him. Typhlosion smirked before using Flamethrower which struck Sneasel allowing me to throw a Pokeball. I watched as the Pokeball shook once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Sneasel has been registered to your Pokedex. Sneasel the Sharp Claw Pokemon a Dark and Ice Type. It is extremely vicious and will not stop attacking until its foe is incapable of moving."

Sneasel wasn't acting as smug when I healed him but seemed to be cheerful enough when I started to bond with him. Typhlosion was definitely smug about teaching the Sneasel not to attack a Fire Type that was clearly well stronger than him. Sneasel therefore did anything he could to try and annoy Typhlosion whether that be pranking him whenever he got the opportunity. Whenever Typhlosion got annoyed and tried to get back at Sneasel. Sneasel would duck and dodge and climb up onto his trainers shoulder. Typhlosion would never use any attack if his trainer could be harmed and reluctantly stopped chasing Sneasel. That didn't mean he wouldn't try and get his revenge at a later point.

I exited the Ice Path and began searching for the next Johto Pokemon and that was a Slugma a Fire Type and I had heard that they could be found rarely on certain routes in Johto, only when the sun was out as they preferred warm temperatures. As such Rotom narrowed down the search and found a route with a high likelihood of housing a Slugma. Noctowl flew me to Route 36 where they were experiencing a lovely sunny day. I began exploring and came across a small cluster of Slugma that were enjoying the sun. When they spotted me some of them hurried off, but one stayed and seemed to want a battle.

"Feraligatr come on out!" Feraligatr appeared roaring at the now suddenly outmatched Slugma who tried to use Smokescreen and hide, but Feraligatr rushed in and used a very weak Hydro Pump to weaken the Slugma enough for me to throw a Pokeball. I watched as the Pokeball shook once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Slugma has been registered to your Pokedex. Slugma the Lava Pokemon a Fire Type. Its body is made of magma. If it doesn't keep moving, its body will cool and harden." As such when I heard that I began training with Slugma keeping him moving and energised something that Slugma definitely appreciated.

Around here there were also many trainers who wanted rematches and that gave Slugma some challenging battles which helped increase his heat and power. Enough to the point where Slugma already began evolving into a Magcargo. "Magcargo has been registered to your Pokedex. Magcargo the Lava Pokemon a Fire and Rock Type. Its body temperature is roughly 18,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Flames burst from gaps in its shell made of hardened magma." As much as Magcargo wanted to thank his new trainer, he couldn't get close as his current body was much to hot for his trainer to touch without extreme specialised equipment. Magcargo did feel disappointed with that revelation but I reassured Magcargo that I loved him just as much as I loved my other Pokemon.

Since it was so warm here, I was surprised when I found a Houndour attracted by the intense heat that Magcargo was giving off. I hadn't caught an Houndour and so Magcargo wanted to thank his beloved trainer for catching and raising him to his evolved form. The best way to do that, was to help his trainer catch the Houndour. Magcargo showed off his impressive strength weakening Houndour with Ancient Power. I threw a Pokeball at the weakened Houndour and watched as it shook, once, twice, three times before the capture was confirmed. "Houndour has been registered to your Pokedex. Houndour the Dark Pokemon a Dark and Fire Type. It conveys its feelings using different cries. It works in a pack to cleverly take down prey."

At that I was curious wondering where this Houndour's pack was, only when Houndour managed to explain that he wasn't part off a pack did I try and welcome him into my team which could be his pack if he accepted. Houndour immediately jumped up on me and licked my face happily, he definitely accepted his new master and would do everything he could to protect him. Houndour was already a very powerful Pokemon taking down his opponents without much difficulty, perhaps he survived this long without a pack because he was just so powerful. That made the most sense to me at least and as such it didn't surprise me when the Dark Pokemon already began evolving into a Houndoom.

"Houndoom has been registered to your Pokedex. Houndoom the Dark Pokemon a Dark and Fire Type. Long ago, people imagined its eerie howls to be the call of the grim reaper." That was nothing more than a superstition of the old times and something that made people fear and hate Houndoom because of that belief. I however, saw that Houndoom was a loving and kind hearted Pokemon who loved me extensively. Houndoom worked hard to ensure he always fought the best he could to represent the strength his master held.

Now I had been wondering where I would be able to obtain an Upgrade an item that could be used when traded to evolve Porygon since I had one and had been wanting to evolve him into a Porygon2 however, finding one had proved to be difficult and not even the shopkeeper back in Goldenrod had one however, he informed that he heard that I could find one in Sylph Co that would be where they were produced. I had thanked him and remembered to get one when I return to Kanto soon. There was also Elekid and Magby the respective pre evolved forms of Electabuzz and Magmar respectively. Rotom located them deep in Sinnoh as were Cleffa and Igglybuff so I resolved to catch them there then.

That left one final Pokemon I needed to evolve, not counting Sneasel specifically and that was my Pupitar. It was getting close I could tell, but we needed that last push in order to reach Tyranitar. We searched high and low for powerful opponents that would push us, but none could reach that level. However, when we explored further through Johto, I felt a powerful presence observing me and when I turned around I saw Entei approaching. I wondered if Entei had sensed our predicament and had decided to give Pupitar a good challenge. Pupitar eagerly accepted the challenge from Entei and prepared himself, though I did assure Entei I knew I wasn't powerful enough to catch him yet. Entei had a glint in his eye, smirking wondering when the opportunity would come for him, Raikou and Suicune to be captured by this particular trainer. No matter, they all were patient and knew their time would come sometime soon.

Entei was extremely powerful and pushed Pupitar to its limits. Stone Edge was easily destroyed by Entei's Flamethrower, something I'd never witnessed before. Eventually the battle had concluded with Entei being the winner, but at the same time, thanks to all the effort that Pupitar had gone through he had achieved his evolution as his reward from Entei. "Tyranitar has been registered to your Pokedex. Tyranitar the Armor Pokemon a Dark and Rock Type. If it rampages, it knocks down mountains and buries rivers. Maps must be redrawn afterward."

Tyranitar was massive compared to me and even some of my other Pokemon and stared down Entei with respect and bowed to Entei who then turned to me knowing that one day perhaps Leo would return and catch all of the legendaries in Johto but that day wasn't today though. Entei darted off into the distance becoming a blur that disappeared. Tyranitar then turned to me and lifted me up placing me on his shoulder as he walked down the path with me. He was a true gentle giant even as a Tyranitar and I loved that about him.

I decided to have a look at just how many Pokemon I had caught from the regions so far and was surprised at the number being 242. Most were from Kanto and Johto but I had quite a few from Sinnoh, one from Hoenn and Kalos too. The Pokedex was really getting full but there were still so many more Pokemon waiting for me to catch them. Next I would return to Kanto and introduce my Pokemon to one another and continue onwards through the Hoenn Region.
