"So yeah, long story short I guess you could say it went okay." Blitzø concluded as he glanced expectantly up at Harper. The dragon demon sat on the opposite side of the imp's desk, one leg crossed over the other as he listened attentively. It irked Blitzø that he couldn't talk about this with Harper while they laid in bed together, but Harper had insisted he hold off on coming over to his house until he'd smoothed things over with the others. It made sense. There'd be no more running and hiding from this shit.

Harper nodded without a word, then went to take a sip of his coffee. He put his mug back down after remembering he'd emptied it a few minutes after he first sat down. Blitzø couldn't help but smirk; the big guy wasn't used to sharing the coffee with the rest of the office.

"You have a rather liberal definition of 'okay,' Blitzø," Harper said with a knowing smile.

The imp gestured vaguely. "Aside from the yelling, the crying, and the accusations that you're just using me to get to Stolas, yeah it went okay," he said. If Millie never yelled at him like that again, it'd be too soon. Fucksake, that woman was scary when she was upset! "I mean I get it, they had a lot to get out of their systems, and I'd been ignoring it for how many months."

Harper nodded solemnly. "So you've owned up to your mistake, and allowed your employees to air their grievances with the status quo."

"Yup!" Blitzø chirped, "And I got a kickass homecooked breakfast out of it in the end!"

The Overlord chuckled. "Excellent. Though you do realize this is only the first step, yes?"

The imp groaned and rubbed his forehead. "Dammit, was hoping this could be a one and done thing. I can't stand drama!"

"And yet it seems to follow you wherever you go," Harper playfully noted.

"Shut up," Blitzø grumbled.

The Overlord only laughed. "Let's get back to the point, shall we? Real life isn't a serial sitcom where everything is neatly resolved in fifteen minutes. You've acknowledged the problem, and allowed Millie and Moxxie to express their feelings. Now comes the tricky part: you need to follow through and make changes."

Blitzø groaned louder, earning another chuckle from Harper. "You're a grown man and a successful business owner," said the dragon, "I know you're smart enough to figure this out. Find time in your schedule to spend more of it with your work family."

"Yeah, but Moxxie's the one who does all the scheduling. I gave the bitch work to the bitch, remember?"

Harper nodded, "And you're the CEO, Blitzø. You realize you can request that he make changes, don't you? He might even be waiting and hoping for you to do it. The man is Hell-bent on maximizing efficiency at I.M.P., and I can respect that. But he might be doing so at his and his wife's own expense."

Blitzø sat back in his seat to digest that notion. "He's always pushing himself," he admitted, "And I'm usually pushing him too. He's got more potential than anyone else here, even after we expanded our operations. And by Satan's tits he's living up to it."

Harper grinned and raised his mug. "Keep talking to him. Find time for both your favorite imps during the day. Things will get better if you put the work in, and I'm confident you know what to do."

Blitzø smiled back at the Overlord. "I'll do my best, babe," he said.

"That's all I ask," said Harper. He leaned forward in his seat and set his empty mug down on Blitzø's desk. "Now, how are things going with Loona?"

Fuck. The imp was dreading this part of the conversation. He stared down at his desk and tapped his claws on it. "Not good," he sighed, "She won't even talk to me."

Harper leaned forward in his seat, which groaned in protest under his weight. "As I'd thought. I cannot say that I know your daughter well, but she strikes me as strong-willed."

"And sensitive," Blitzø added, "Way more than she likes to admit."

"Quite," said Harper, "It may take some more time to reconcile with her than the others." The corners of his mouth quirked into a soft smile. "But if you were truly willing to suffer my wrath in her place the day we first met, I know you'll do anything to make up with her."

"Damn right I was!" Blitzø said. He straightened up in his seat as his confidence returned, but only for a moment before he settled back into a slouch. "S'gonna be a hard one for sure."

Harper chuckled as the imp paused to take another sip from his coffee. "Well, you and I both know that handling hard things is your specialty, my sweet," he purred.

Blitzø gagged and nearly spat his coffee all over the side wall of his office while the Overlord laughed merrily in front of him. Coughing, the imp slammed his mug down and pointed at Harper until he was able to speak. "You- You- That's not fucking fair, Harps!" he growled, "I'm supposed to be the one teasing you. First you cockblock me, now you're stealing my bit!" Even so, he didn't need a mirror to feel the blush heating his face.

"Now now, Blitzø, there's no need to be upset," Harper soothed once he had regained his composure, "It's a pleasure to accompany you, regardless of what we're doing. I know you feel the same way."

"Heh, I guess," Blitzø grudgingly admitted. Now if only this fucking blush would go away. It'd help if Harper stopped staring at him. Why the fuck was he looking at him like that?

After a few minutes of silence that seemed to drag on forever, Harper finally - finally - said something. "I love you, Blitzø."

Fuck, he said it again! Blitzø felt an intense tingle run up his spine and down his arms and legs, where they settled into goosebumps on his red and white mottled skin. It'd be so much easier if Harper would stop saying that to him every few days. Nobody said that to him. It's unnatural! Worse, now he had to answer back.

"I..." Blitzø started, then cringed. Why was it so hard to say? Every time he tried, it was like sucking on a lemon. "I..." he tried again, then steeled himself with another gulp of lukewarm coffee. Harper was right, he specialized in handling hard things. He could do this, dammit!

"I love you too, Harps," Blitzø finally breathed out, then collapsed back into his chair. "Fucksake, just teasing me isn't enough for you?"

Harper inclined his head in appraisal (at least, Blitzø thought it was in appraisal). "You're stammering less," he noted, "That's a good sign."

The imp grumbled under his breath before responding. "Bitch," he simply said, making the Overlord chuckle once more.

The office returned to silence for a few minutes. Eventually, Harper reached into his jacket and produced an old pocket watch. "Well, if there is nothing else to discuss," he said as he returned it to his coat pocket, "There is something important that I need to-"

"There is something else, actually," Blitzø said. He clasped his hands in front of him as he took the rare moment to think about what he was going to say. The imp stole a glance up at Harper, who patiently waited.

Blitzø sighed, then finished off his coffee. Almost reflexively, he reached under his desk and pressed the More Coffee button. "Since you mentioned it, there's something I wanna get off my chest," he said.

"Go on?" said the dragon demon.

The imp leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms. Try as he might, he couldn't keep eye contact. "Let's just say me and love have a pretty fucked up relationship. Pretty much explains everything up to this point," he said, "Just a couple of years ago, I thought I loved Stolas."

He pursed his lips and looked to Harper again. Infuriatingly, the Overlord only nodded for him to continue. "Fuck it, I'll make this quick. One time back in the day we were out on a hit. Shit went sideways, and me and Moxxie got captured by humans. Some whackass wannabe G-men were trying to prove demons exist. They interrogated us, drugged us, and I don't remember much after that other than we both tripped balls.

"We'd just come down from whatever they'd gassed us with when Millie and Loona came to bust us out. We kicked those nerds' asses like you wouldn't believe! Then we got cornered, and Stolas came to bail us out."

Harper grunted softly, which made Blitzø sit bolt upright. The Overlord was leaning forward in interest. "You say His Highness personally intervened to rescue you and your crew?"

The imp nodded. "Yeah, and he made one helluva entrance, no pun intended. It's hard to describe; you'd have to have seen it in person. He scared the fuck outta the suits and got us back to Hell in one piece."

Blitzø paused. Here came the hard part. "Maybe it was the adrenaline from the fight, or from seeing Stolas in action. Either way, after he scooped me up in his arms, I wanted him. Badly. So when he dropped a hint he was expecting a reward, I offered to fuck his brains out, then I suggested we break out the bear traps."

"I'm sorry," Harper cut in, "Did you say 'bear traps?'"

"Yeah, bear traps!" said Blitzø with a smirk. "Birdbrain's a total freak in the sheets, and hardcore bondage is just scratching the surface. I think that's why I put up with his shit. He's a good fuck, like I told ya." The imp shook his head. "Anyways, I'm getting off track. You know how I have a strict no kissing rule with Stolas, right?"

"Mmhmm?" said the Overlord.

"Well," Blitzø continued, "I kinda sorta let it lapse in the heat of the moment, and for a bit after. Birdbrain's a pretty good kisser too, y'know. But we made out hard even before the portal was closed and we were safe on the other side.

"And I gotta tell ya, Harps. I was on fucking Cloud Sixty-Nine at that moment. Felt almost the way I feel whenever I'm with-"

Blitzø was interrupted by a knock at the office door. It cracked open, and Moxxie poked his head in with an unamused grimace.

"Alright Blitzø, I got a clean pair of pants and underwear for you," he grumbled as he stepped into the room with a bundle in his hands. "Seriously don't understand why you haven't hired a secretary for this yet."

Blitzø raised an eyebrow. "I asked for more coffee, dumbass!" he growled.

Moxxie rolled his eyes and tossed the change of clothes on the floor. "Well you clearly pressed the 'Soiled My Pants' button! You shouldn't keep it so close to the one for more coffee."

Blitzø was vaguely aware that Harper had clapped a hand over his muzzle, eyes wide in surprise, which only amplified the humiliation. "I'll write it down later," he said through clenched teeth, "Now get me and Harps some more coffee before I soil your pants, shrimp!"

The smaller imp stormed out of the office, muttering under his breath. As soon as he'd slammed the door, Blitzø sighed, then brightened. "Didja see that, Harps???" he gushed as he hugged himself, "He's back to arguing with me again! He really does care!"

Harper remained staring at the door for several seconds before he shook his head and turned back to Blitzø. "I beg your pardon, but did Moxxie say you have an alarm dedicated to when you've soiled yourself?"

The imp waved the dragon demon off. "Yeah, don't worry about it. I keep forgetting you're not supposed to trust a fart. Okay, fuck, lessee where was I?" He rubbed his forehead as he tried to reassemble his train of thought.

"You were talking about how you felt when you kissed Stolas?" Harper offered.

"Oh yeah, right right," said the imp as he settled back into his chair. "So for a while after that I guess I kinda got it in my head that Stolas and I were a thing, you know? At least I hoped that's what it was. But then the months went on, and all we ever did was the thirsty flirting, and the sex, and the BDSM. Don't get me wrong, those are fun sometimes. But, that's all I was getting from him."

"Prince Stolas does seem to have rather colorful tastes where intimacy is concerned," the Overlord noted.

"No shit, Sherlock!" Blitzø snarked, "Like I said, it can be fun. Like the time he hooked a car battery up to my nipples and...ah you probably don't wanna hear all the deets about that."

Harper nodded as the imp slumped down onto his desk, chin resting on his arms. "It got old pretty fast. Stopped feeling so good to be around him. Heh, I shoulda realized what he saw me as when he came to our rescue. He referred to me as his 'impish plaything' to those dorks. Hell, I don't think he's ever said he loves me."

The imp paused again. This time he let it drag on as he considered telling Harper the next bit. "A little while after that, I did something really, really fucking dumb..." he hesitated.

"Go on?" said Harper.

"I went to the Lust Ring with Stolas," Blitzø said, "Not that I really wanted him there, but Ozzie's requires you to have at least one partner to get in."

"Why did you want to go to Asmodeus's club then?" the Overlord asked.

Blitzø made a non-committal noise and continued. "Point is, I ran into a couple people I'm not on good terms with, and they made fun of me. Then Ozzie himself noticed Stolas was with me. Called us both out to the whole fucking club."

The imp's hand clenched as he squeezed his eyes shut. A harsh stinging nagged at the corners of his eyes. "And what does that fucker do? He hides behind a fucking menu. He was ashamed to have been caught with me."

He paused to take a breath. If he wasn't careful he'd break down. "We left the club after that and I dropped him off at his palace. He'd made it crystal clear that night that all I am to him is a fuck buddy.

"After that, I drifted away from him. Gave up on trying to get more out of our 'arrangement.' Went back to the no kissing rule, stopped seeing him outside of our monthly meet 'n fuck. But I also kinda - what do ya call it? I kinda settled for it, since I figured that was the closest I was ever gonna get."

Blitzø stiffened when he felt a large hand come to rest on his shoulder. He looked up to see Harper had gotten up and rounded the desk. He managed the ghost of a smile at his draconic boyfriend, and leaned into his touch.

"And then I met you, Harps," he said, "And lemme tell ya, you're vanilla as fuck. But what we got going here?" he gestured between himself and the dragon, "It's hitting different, and I'm feeling like I did on that day Stolas bailed my ass out," he offered the dragon demon a slightly larger, watery smile, but it was gone as quickly as it had appeared.

"Dunno why you think a loser like me is worth sticking around, though. Eventually you're not gonna put up with me anymore. That's how it always goes." He looked away from the Overlord and down at his lap.

Harper squeezed his shoulder, then got down in a crouch to eye level with the imp. Blitzø sat back up to meet his gaze.

"I've got some bad news for you, sweetheart," said the Overlord, "I'm afraid that you're not going to be able to get rid of me so easily." He smiled reassuringly.

Blitzø tried to return the smile, but his lips wouldn't cooperate. "I wanna believe that," he murmured. Harper only squeezed a little more firmly.

"You should believe it," Harper continued, "You might not be the brightest man of business I ever met, but you are the furthest thing from a 'loser.' What you lack in competence you make up for in passion. You love what you do, and you know just enough to capitalize on what you love. To me, that is worth more than all the gold in His Majesty's treasury."

Harper stood up and returned to the opposite side of Blitzø's desk. He rested a hand on it as he contemplated. "You know our first anniversary is coming up," the dragon said.

Blitzø did his best to shake the gloom that had settled over him and sat up straight. "Oh? Huh, time sure flies when we're having fun," he said. This time a cheeky smile found its way to his face.

"Quite!" said Harper, "To commemorate that date, I want us to do something extra special. No quiet walks through nature or riding on horseback this time. It's time to stop keeping things between us secret."

Blitzø tilted his head. "Not sure I follow, Harps," he said.

"Think about it, Blitzø. How often do we go out in public together, where there's more than a handful of people who see us?" asked the dragon.

The imp took a few moments to wrack his brain, but came up empty handed. He simply shrugged at the Overlord.

"Exactly!" said Harper. "What you said about your visit to the Lust Ring got me thinking. I want for us to test the waters of public opinion. It is better that the Pride Circle knows that the so-called Builder Baron is dating an imp upfront, rather than for someone to try to use our relationship as blackmail, don't you think?"

Blitzø nodded. He didn't care much for politics and Overlord powerplay, but there was something almost voyeuristic about the way Harper described it that sounded exciting. "Sounds good!" he said, "Ah, whatcha have in mind?"

"Nothing too scandalous," Harper said as he returned to his seat. "A simple dinner date at an upscale restaurant is in order. Sharing your company is wonderful, but I don't want to have to hide it from others," Harper's smile shifted into a smirk, "Besides, I'm sure your friend Stolas could use a gentle reminder that you're spoken for, lest he get any ideas."

The imp paused to ponder on that some more. Yeah, what he had with Harper felt real enough, but this was like making it official, right? And he already knew Stolas wouldn't mind, since he seemed to enjoy being just friends with benefits.

"It's a date, babe," Blitzø said as he got up. "Just name the time and the place."

"Splendid!" said Harper. The Overlord rose from his seat as well and accompanied the imp to the door of his office. "I will have Drek call you with the details within the hour. We will come pick you up on the agreed upon time."

The dragon demon stooped down, and Blitzø took the opportunity to give him a peck on the lips. "I'll be ready for ya," he said as he turned that knob and flung the door open. The door abruptly struck something on the other side. A pained yelp and a crash followed.

The imp pinched the bridge of his nose. "God fucking dammit, Moxxie," he muttered, "Okay Harps, see ya later this week!"

Harper smiled and slid out the door. His tail affectionately brushed along Blitzø's shins as he left. "Are you alright?" he asked Moxxie as the imp pulled the door closed.

Blitzø turned to go back to his desk, then froze. Was it just him or did the shadows taking up the corners of his office move? The imp cautiously looked around as he crept back to his desk. His finger rested on the "Ghost" button of his control panel as he gave a final look around.

After nothing happened for a few more minutes, Blitzø let himself relax. It was probably his mind playing tricks on him after all the drama. Now to wait for that call from Drek!
