A young male feline discovers something terrifying in his attic

Upstairs

To Horace, today had a dreamy, surreal feel to it, considering that he should be inside in his room and not outside, naked. The scrawny black and orange tabby, looked around wondering how and why he was outside in this state of undress as well as why in all that is holy was he not trying to hide the fact that he was unclothed outdoors. He marveled at how everything around him, and his body as well, looked hazy, that is except for his house. It was cloaked in a dark, angry, veil of hatred, lust and overall evil. One thing that he knew for certain that the answer or answers to his questions was I his home, and all he had to do was go inside to find them. His ears kept raising and lowering, twisting this way and that trying to catch any hint of what was inside his home. As he made his way towards the front door, he noticed a faint arrow pointing towards his backyard. He stopped and looked closer at it, noting that it too had a faint haze surrounding it, like everything else around him; it even had a faint tint of what was cloaking the house.

As he resumed his trek to the front door, he wondered briefly if he was supposed to follow the arrow to the back yard. As he neared the door, he felt uneasy the nearer he came to it. As he reached for the doorknob, a sharp electric shock ran through his arm. Jerking it back in pain, he decided that it was prudent to follow the arrow and to see where it was pointing. Going back to the arrow, he noticed that it had changed direction, and was now pointing to the front door, making him think that someone was playing a nasty joke on him. Once again, he went to the front door and grasped the doorknob, ready to jump back if he was shocked again. He was surprised when nothing happened when the door opened. Walking into his house, he felt a shiver of pure tore course through his body as he looked around the front room in search of more arrows.

Is wasn't long before he found another one pointing towards the stairwell and another on the stairs indicating that he was to go upstairs. As he slowly moved towards the stair, he was dimly aware the interior of the house was just as bright as it was outside. As he mounted the stairs one at a time, thrills of terror ran up and down his spine sending shivers to the tip of his tail. After stepping onto the second floor, he collapsed as a sharp jab of pain coursed through his body. Somehow he managed to get back onto his paws, banishing the pain to the furthest recesses of his mind and beginning the hunt for more of the mysterious arrows. He searched all over the second floor not seeing one arrow anywhere. As he worked his way to the back of the house, a vague sense of foreboding started creeping into his mind; the feeling was getting stronger the nearer he got to the door to the attic stairwell. Again he was stopped as pain once again coursed through his body, this time more intense than before. Despite the pain, he reached for the door trying to open it. As he made contact with the knob, his naked body was violently thrown across the room into a far way, knocking him senseless as he slid to the floor.

A few moments later, he groggily got off the floor and once again made his way to the attic door, and again he was violently expelled from the door into the far wall. It was when he got up that he discovered that there was no damage to the wall from the two times that he hit it. He knew then that there was something odd going on, and that he could find out what it was if he could get up into the attic. Time after time, he tried opening the attic door, and time after time, he was violently thrown across the room. He lost track of the time as he battled whatever it was that was keeping him from getting into his attic before he finally succeeded in gaining entry into the attic stairwell. Despite it being dark, he was able to see as clearly as if it was daytime. As he began mounting the final set of stairs he felt like he was wading through thick mud, except there was none. The further up the stairs he climbed the harder it became, about halfway up the stairs, a new sensation started making itself noticed. Dread, fear, terror were the three main feelings running rampant through his mind and body, trying to stop him from going any further.

Still he persevered and slowly and painfully, he made it to the door leading into the attic proper. He had noted as he climbed higher up the steps, they began to take on a thick, oily sheen and emitting a sweet, coppery smell. Steeling himself, he opened the door, entered the attic and looked around seeing nothing out of the ordinary at first. As he looked around he noticed at first what appeared to be many fur pelts scattered in the far corner. Slowly edging closer, the fear and dread that was a constant rumble in his head suddenly changed to terror as what was in front of him became clear.

There was blood and gore everywhere, scattered bits of black and orange fur that looked strangely familiar to his terrified eyes. As he looked over the mangled, desecrated body before him, his attention was distracted by the sound of scuffling paws. Spinning around quickly, he saw what was making the scuffling noises, and the visage before him terrified him to the core of his very soul. A strange three tailed grey, black and white spotted canine was slowly making its way towards him, spittle dripping from its jaws as it chewed on a very familiar set of genitals. Then the reality of the scene hit him and hit him hard, he was looking at his dead and mangled body! He was dead and food for that awful beast! It also then that he noticed that he creature had finished devouring the meat it was eating and that it was looking directly at him. A sharp thrill of ice cold terror ran through him as it began stalking him, he tried to run away, but he couldn't. It seemed that his paws were rooted to the spot. Soon the weird canine was standing before his very soul, it's eyes began to glow with an evil red glow as it began sniffing his spirit. Then before he knew it, it bit down on his legs and started sucking his soul into its waiting maw.

He began screaming in terror as he tried to escape his second and unfortunately, final death in vain. Slowly, his body was sucked into the creature's maw, he screamed even louder as he watched it bite down on his bits, separating them from his flailing spirit, before resuming its spiritual meal. Soon his head was nestled within the jaws of the canine, before it bit down stopping abruptly stopping his screaming. Before he faded forever, he then realized that had he followed the arrow that pointed towards the back yard, he might have crossed over to another life, now, he would be just another satisfying snack for a spiritual predator.
