The New Lives of the Transformed

Part One

Written by Arian Mabe (Amethyst Mare)

Joseph, a bay Thoroughbred anthro horse with a strong line on his muzzle, left his partner in her bed, his fiancée, though he did not know what was to come of him that night. Life was not easy for anthros and humans alike in a world that balanced on the edge of change, though he had thought, with his special forces unit, that he was just doing what was right for the world.

He was a soldier who followed commands, slipping out through the night, dressed casually, though there was nothing casual about going out after midnight. The equine missed the warmth of his partner mare in his bed, sure that she would wake in the morning and wonder where he was. That was just why he had to make sure that he was back in good time, though an agent like him working with his comrades never quite knew where any given mission would take them or when they would return.

His car was simple and plain, something a little older with chunkier edges and not the sleek, smooth lines of most modern vehicles. Joseph didn't honestly pay it much mind as it was covered through work and more something that was designed to fly under the radar simply when he had to get from A to be, one place to the other. He didn't have a college education under his belt and did the work that he did simply as it got him through the weeks and months. It was a good living, to be fair, but it was dangerous work. Joseph supposed that it was easier than expected to live with that when he was so used to, being off in wars overseas before, having bombs flying overhead. Maybe all he was doing in his usual line of work was running from trauma, but there was no holding back from that.

A horse like him, after all, could only keep going forward, putting one hoof in front of the other.

Symone... His heart twisted for her, though he told himself that he would be back with her again soon, that everything that was going to be fine. Yet he could not shake the feeling as he tugged at his black forelock that something was awry, something was amiss, even though he ran through his mental checklists time after time again.

No, nothing was amiss. Nothing that he could put his finger on anyway and that would have to be good enough for the time being.

The disused warehouse was set on the outskirts of town, though they had a way to go that night, his squad already settled and in position to head off. He parked up in what could have been an old garage (he didn't really care to find out), taking the keys with him, though it would not have bothered him one bit if the car was stolen in his absence. It was not really his or his style anyway.

He cast his eyes about, though there was no one else there in the dark of the hour just after midnight but a delivery van - one for Wander's Toast Bread. He'd never really gotten into that, but it could be the only option, smirking as he walked up, hooves ringing out loudly across the hard, broken up tarmac. The warehouse and the land around it had mostly been left to go wild, strewn with weeds and roughed up where it had never actually been taken good care of.

Rap-rap-rap!

_ _

He smartly knocked on the side of the van and, when the answering raps came by, swung himself into the back, the doors opening smoothly without even a squeak. That was good: for once the vehicle they were in had been well oiled so that they could be discreet in their work.

"Good evening."

The others grunted, his comrades in the delivery van seated where racks of bread would normally sit, the van clearly a tactical vehicle and not what it had been repurposed from. The assassination squad. It still sounded strange to hear that said out loud, or even in his own head, but it was the nature of their work. Maybe the roughness of it all would catch up with him in the end, but they were plainer sorts who had been roped into it as just something that they did with their lives.

"Code word."

He didn't recognize the shadowy wolf who asked him for that, but the answer, "ten hot cats," was accepted, allowing him to enter the vehicle. They already knew who he was, of course, but needed to ask for the code word to check for any hesitation or sense that something was awry, those inside as alert and as sharp as they had ever been.

The wolf grunted, swinging out and around into the driver's seat.

"Figures... We were waiting here for fucking ages."

His comrades, Kevin and Raymond, who were also both equines, scowled a little at him, though he couldn't honestly blame them for being grumpy at such an hour. Rubbing the back of his neck a little sheepishly, Joseph half shrugged.

"Sorry, dude, I was with my girlfriend...er...fiancée..."

"Unff." The wolf grunted, a cigarette dangling out of the corner of his mouth, only there to do a job and no more than that. "Figures. Nice for some."

And maybe it was, though Kevin laughed softly and shook his head, the chestnut horse of a similar build to him. In their lineage, he was also a Thoroughbred, though not many anthros focused on breeding like that anymore in their lives.

"I didn't mean to keep you guys here for long, sorry," Joseph said, at least having the good grace to apologise for his lateness. "I was sleeping, guess I didn't get the call the first time, if all of you lot got here so far before me."

Raymond snorted, his long, black mane cast down over his face. The Friesian was a horse of few words, though he was certainly a hit with the ladies when they went out to bars. There was no one quite like him that could have the ladies hanging off his arms and broad shoulders in what always seemed like no time at all. He could out drink anyone at the bar too.

They hadn't always lived in the cities and towns, moving closer to the centre of life and habitation of the country after being out in the military. They'd even all grown up in the same village, a time where things had been simpler, perhaps even a little kinder to them. They remembered taking the lumpy, bumpy bus to school in the next town over, for their equine village, back then, had not even had a school built in it, requiring them to travel in every day. The commuting time - a term that they would not, in fact, learn until they were adults - allowed them time in which to get to know one another better and better over the years, even though they were well known for causing a ruckus on the bus, hanging off the seats and playing kids war games.

If only they had known, back then, that those war games would not be as funny nor as entertaining when they were adults. The war games had gotten real when, as young adults at the end of their schooling, they had not known what to do with their lives. When Kevin had said that he was signing up for the armed forces, they had followed in his hoof steps. Some said that it would toughen them up, show them what was "real" in the world, but Joseph wasn't so sure that that had ended up being the case.

They'd seen a lot of things, true, a lot of things that they could have done without. War was still a game played by politicians back at cushy desks with cushy families and cushy lives (all fake, of course) while they toyed with lives beyond their jurisdiction. Maybe, once, there had been a war or two that was justified, but all three of them had come out of battle with their own scars, whether they bore them outwardly or not.

Assassination and special forces at least gave them somewhere in which they could use their training, pressing on in the face of danger. And they were doing it all in the name of good, or so they hoped, though that was sometimes a little more up for debate than they would have liked. Kevin had not been all that moral, to be fair to him, but he'd felt straightened out a little more by serving in the armed forces. Whether or not that was actually true was another question entirely, however.

Times, however, had changed and they were not in the village anymore. They could not change that, as much as Joseph might have liked to, for he had not even been out to his village to take Symone there, not yet. It felt like a remnant of a past life that he was no longer suited to and, well, his family had already passed away. Not of anything insidious, he thought, but simply of natural causes and illnesses, as his parents had been aged a little higher when they had had him. Kevin and Raymond still have family back there, however, even though Kevin rarely talked about them. Sometimes, Joseph wondered why, but not all that often. Some things were better left to those that were involved in them and he was sure that Kevin didn't want him sticking his nose in.

"Come on, boys," Raymond grunted, paws pressed onto his thighs, his weapons steady and waiting. "Let's get this over with."

Joseph nodded, shoulder blades pushing back, straightening, his posture changing. For he was not just their friend anymore but their captain, the strongest of them all - supposedly. There was little political, at least in his case, when it came to him being promoted to captain, though perhaps something of the trauma and troubles that he had faced.

He took a deep, steadying breath. That wasn't something he had to carry with him. Not on that job.

"Right, lads, this is how it's all going to go down..."

As the driver bumped his way along the road, heading straight into the next city where there had been more than a few reports of considerable unrest building, they went over the plan, a blueprint of some rich person's house laid out on the van floor between them. It was the mayor of the city, the one who had not been elected for all that long, though they had not had any grief from him before. That should have been their first notice that something was afoot there, even if it was far beyond their pay grade, for being called in to assassinate the elected mayor, well... It wasn't a good look for anyone, to say the least.

There had to be a reason behind it, however, and they were all granted immunity due to the line of their work, merely following orders. It was best that they just acted like good little soldier boys and got on with it.

They'd infiltrate the mayor's home, the traditional street home, even if it was gated, in the centre of the city. They'd raid, finish the job, go home, back to their lives. Simple? At least in their minds, it was, the security systems taken care of, all the tools they needed at their disposal. They understood the work, how to get by doors that were not meant to be passed and how to dispatch someone who did not want to leave the world of the living quietly. For someone of that calibre, the mayor himself would not be an issue, Joseph was sure, it depended solely on the guards and security that they may not have had advance intel of.

Kevin and Raymond, however... He blinked, knowing his own truth. They would not let him down and if he was going into a sticky situation, he could only be exceedingly glad that it was the two of them that he had there to have his back as their leader. Still... It was his word that was the law there and they had had to learn early on that, when he oversaw their squad, that his word was not to be opposed. Whether he was angrier with himself or them, however, when that came to occur, was another question. There were still kinks to be worked out there, even after working together for so many years.

Still, as the vehicle rumbled and bounced along, dipping into a pothole in the road, he knew that it was not a life that he had wanted. Maybe the village, truly, still had his heart. Maybe the quiet of the fields and the mountains, a simpler sort of life, would have suited him better. Instead, there he was, still stuck in a soldier's life, playing games for people with more money than sense. And where was the sense in that?

His life was set, however, and he had a good wage coming in, which was something at the very least. That meant that he didn't have to worry, at least when it came to putting food on the table and a roof over his head, though it would have been nice just to be...well...alone. Was that so wrong?

He didn't know, not as the van dipped and bumped into another pothole, leaping to the side, jostling those in the back, though Kevin and Raymond barely even moved. Joseph grunted, brushing his black mane from his neck, licking his lips, mouthing moving, chewing softly, a calming response. He didn't always need to be entertained or stimulated. Sometimes, sitting in a meadow, though there seemed to be few of those left in a world that was rapidly becoming more and more developed, was all that he needed.

Yet he was different when he was on a mission and Joseph was not so sure that he wanted to be like that anymore. He had to be himself, a good person, and could he be a good stallion, as he was, when he was out there killing people? They were things that didn't line up when he was violent and brainless, a drone merely following orders even when he was in charge.

No... No, he didn't want to see himself snap again, to catch a glimpse of himself caught up in mindless bloodlust, bullets raining down, bodies falling before his eyes. Time passed more slowly, out in the village, up in the mountains, and he would have much rather have been up there, back where things made sense, at least in some small way.

Maybe that would come at another time, however, for he had a mission to concentrate on. Truthfully, the horse knew that no time of peace would come for him, for his pay was enough for him to survive on and not enough for him to save on, which was probably just the way that the powers that were present in the world wanted it to be. Tasks always came through one after the other, keeping him busy, both in body and mind.

For some that was a good thing. But Joseph had started questioning that.

"Heads up, boys."

They were near, gripping their weapons, breath catching, chests hitching ever so slightly. It was time. It had always been time.

The mayor's stately home, the wrought iron gates, stood before them, the innocuous delivery van that had no real deliveries to make. It rumbled, sputtering exhaust fumes, though that would be of no matter, none at all, very shortly.

Joseph nodded to his comrades, his folk, his team. Through it all, they'd stuck together. One day, he'd have to tell them just how grateful he was for that.

But their mission awaited them.

*

Starlight exhaled, the palomino equine who had once been known as Joseph. His stable had an outdoor pen attached to it and it was out there that he had moseyed, his mane spilling coolly down his neck, tail flicking back and forth lazily, though there were few flies left at the tail end of summer. That was not something that was any concern of his, as a horse, however, for someone, a stable hand, would be by occasionally to spritz his body down with a combination of natural oils that repelled flies. The only reason that Starlight knew that that was what it was for was because the flies were less afterwards, nipping and scarpering with lesser intensity over his sensitive hide.

His head lifted, nostrils flaring slightly. It was strange, sometimes, so very strange, how thoughts surfaced that did not seem like his, but they were still there, somehow, filtering through.

In his mind, he was not there, not in the pen. His line of vision was different and he could see strange hands in front of him instead, like what the stable hands had, his master too. He was a horse, he could feel it in the body of his memory, though he was not in the field, not in his pen, not in his stable. Starlight was nowhere familiar at all in the twisting of his mind, panting, grunting, a scream cutting through the air.

Who was that? Where were they?

Who?

He didn't even know who he was looking for, not as a fire blazed, swallowing up a room, though it was a room where people like his master would live, not where a horse should have been. Why was he in a room?

A snarl jerked his head to the right, a white lion flashing through the air, his leaping swathe lunging through. Teeth flashed, but it was the hand a half knife clasped in the lion's hand, fingers curled tightly around the handle, keeping the round of the handle snug in his palm. It was an old friend, clearly, to the feline, though the equine in Starlight scrambled and started away, fighting, pushing, fear sinking into the pit of his stomach, twisting and curling.

He was not supposed to be there, but the scene dropped from his eyes, the flames dancing and flickering with wicked glee, drawing him back and back and back.

First, he was on two legs, a bay horse, a rich, brown coat with a black mane. Pain lanced through him, cock hard - why was that? There was no mare about, not in the dream, or the memory, whatever it was. But it did not matter, for next he was on all fours, on his four hooves again, blossoming into a palomino non-anthro stallion in his rightful way, a shape that felt more comfortable around him, forming a sense of comfort, safety and wellbeing.

Starlight snorted, pacing back and forth. Where had that come from? What was it? No... No, it did not feel real and yet there was something as real to him as was the memory of suckling from his dam, the mare's soft features lingering in his memory. He scuffed up the dirt in his pen with the passage of his hooves, leaving bare prints, though he did not currently have iron nailed to the hardness of his feet.

"Here you go, boy!"

His head shot up, eyes wild, though it was just the stable hand, the one with an odd mop of black hair that was longer down the back of his neck and shoulders than what the others had. If not for his scent, Starlight might have mistaken him for a female, solely from the differences in their appearance. There was little else for him to differentiate between them, being solely a horse. He could see the difference between anthros and humans, of course, though they were all "two-leggers" to him. That made sense.

Yet the stable hand had a big bucket of sweet feed for him mixed in with chaff, more than enough to raise his energy and chase any bad dreams from his mind. Starlight had never considered the concept of a horse having dreams, or not, for it was simply how it was for him, the way of it, the day to day. And his day to day was peaceful, going from the stable to the pen to the field and seeing his mares, his little herd. There, he had friends. There, he had company. There, he had food and water. Was there anything else in the world that he could have needed?

He chewed the feed thoughtfully, the sweetness making him hunger for more. It was good, very good, even if he didn't quite know what it was.

What Starlight didn't know, the anthro Joseph having been transformed into a feral stallion, Starlight, was that it was the mayor that he had sought to assassinate that had spared him. The mayor walked through the stables with a comfortable set to his shoulders. The head of his guards, Greyin, had done a profoundly wonderful job in capturing all three of the assassins from the neighbouring city and province, though that was a problem that had swiftly been dealt with as his territory and rule expanded. Keeping Starlight there, however, had brought with it an entirely new set of complications.

Saron sighed, shaking his head at the stallion chewing on his meal, drops of feed slipping from his teeth and lips as he fed.

"Sometimes I don't know if I've done the right thing by you," Saron, the self-defined lord, though he was officially the mayor, said with a thrust of his hands into his pockets as if he had something to hide. "Why is this technology in my family? This was supposed to reduce the threat..."

Yet even a tyrant who was so consumed by his view of the world that he believed that he was doing it all for the greater good, could have doubts from time to time. He could not be sure that he was doing the right thing as he pressed his fingers to his temples, groaning very quietly as Starlight pricked his ears up.

"You were supposed to just be a non-threat, something like that..." The mayor said, though even he seemed to struggle with his words, working them thickly and sluggishly around his mouth before he shoved them free. "I wanted to show mercy to you...but this punishment cannot possibly be mercy. Where does the blame in all this land truly lie?"

He fretted, though he had much in his time and rule to concern him, much more so than the rebels and assassins that he had already turned into animals, creatures with varying levels of their previous intelligence. They were still people in there, whether they had previously been human or anthro - there were even some intelligent ferals that he had transformed into other creatures, reducing their intelligence. Maybe that was born out of fear and he should never have been fearful, not even once, not as the mayor.

One of the researchers, the director Ramius, stood beside him, a clipboard in her hands, though the anthro lynx with quivering whiskers, her blue eyes shining with rapt intelligence. She didn't have anything to write, of course, for the research there was done by underlings, but the results of it were important to have on hand in case the mayor wanted more detail at any time as to what was being done with his charges. Yet he seemed to have taken a special interest in Starlight, formerly known as Joseph. Ramius didn't have any more information on Starlight's past life, however, than that, only knew that he had done something terrible to deserve such a fate. And yet the mayor had been merciful and that was all that they could ever have asked of the one ruling over them.

"You should not worry yourself so," she said, inclining her head towards the horse, who was peacefully finishing off his breakfast still. "He was jobless, what the common folk might even have called a "hobo" at some times. He didn't even have somewhere to live permanently, typically, sleeping sometimes with his partner of the time. He left them to assassinate you."

Of course, the information that Ramius imparted had all been given to her before, as if the final hours of Starlight's life as Joseph were all that had ever existed of the horse. The mayor had been the one to read through that detail before, though it had never concerned him much then. Ramius could tell him far more about what Starlight had been doing since he'd gotten there, though the mayor never seemed as interested about that as she had expected he would be.

But who was the lynx to judge the lord?

"He is only a dumb horse, sir," she reassured him with all the skill in her small wheelhouse. "This is how he is meant to be at his most genuine. We have measured his brainwaves, as you have seen in the graphs and reports, this is not merely speculation. This simple life of being, feeding, defecating and even mating... This is how this horse wants to be."

The mayor shook his head, lips pressed together into a harder, thinner line than anyone should have liked to see on his face.

"This is how they spend their lives, these animals, these forgotten, lost souls. Look at the good that you have given them!"

Yet the lynx frowned and stepped back.

"There is a matter of their expenses, however, which are moderate. When so many are transformed, lord, we have to find a way for them to work for themselves still. We should begin with Starlight and decide whether he should pull a carriage, perhaps a smaller wagon instead for the city, maybe even go to the zoo. He could be a wonderful exhibit, whether it is noted on his placard that he is a transformed anthro. Either way, being able to moderate and alter his level of intelligence leaves us with multiple options when it comes to his use in the world."

The mayor considered that, though he had, to be fair, still not made up his mind on what he was to do with Starlight. The horse looked fine, Ramius was quite right, though he didn't understand it, not fully. The technology was there to be used and he was a man who was well-used to using everything that lay at his disposal, all for the sake of his city, what was soon to be his country. There had been so many ills in the world being done around him that he had wanted to correct them - though his mind still moved to the thoughts of those that he had punished and transformed into forms and bodies where, in no way, shape or form, could bring harm to him or others under his rule.

It was about control. It was about making everything just so.

But not even the young lord could be entirely sure that everything was, indeed, "just so".

*

Starlight kept his head lowered, his eyelids fluttering sleepily. He could sleep with his eyes open, in the way of a prey animal, always alert and to attention, as if he was always under threat, something waiting, something watching, always lurking. A horse had to be alert and a horse had to be aware of what was around them, for it was in the deepest part of their instinct.

Still, Starlight knew too, after all his time there, that there was nothing at the stables or the facility that would hurt him at all. There was food, water, good grass, good company. He needed no more than that in the pursuit of a quiet life, moving from one day to the next, sleeping, feeding, mating.

He blinked, his white mane spilling over his face. He couldn't remember mating, not really, but time didn't seem the same for him as... Well, he couldn't remember the "as when" part of that thought. Better to keep grazing, his tail flicking lazily to swat away flies. That was a better way to spend the day, even if he had limited space to move in, a fence or wall, at all times, restricting his movements.

Time passed. His master had come to see him the day before and laid a hand on his neck. Starlight chewed thoughtfully. That was good, very good. He hoped that he'd see his master again soon. The stallion didn't have all that much close contact with anyone, as much as he wanted to socialise. He was kept in a field separate from others, though he could smell the mares, his cock occasionally, lazily dropping.

In the stable, he lifted his head inquisitively. Oh! Something was different. That was interesting. Curiously, Starlight perked his head out over the stable door, the lynx anthro with grey fur standing before him, though the lynx was not looking at him. Even though the lynx anthro was a predator, he understood that they were no threat to him. They still had a strange twitch to their ears, something that instinct took note of, even then.

"Now... Let's bring him out, see how he is. It's time to test his capabilities now that he has settled."

"Do you think he'll still be capable of it, ma'am?"

That was the ranch hand, though Starlight did not understand the words that were exchanged between them. A headcollar slipped on over his head, buckled at his cheek, the straps soft and comfortable, as if they were well-worn and had been worn by many horses before him. Starlight snuffled and whuffled softly at the lead rope, lipping at it as the ranch hand chuckled. It was a different man that time, someone short with blonde hair. He looked pretty young but the scent of him told Starlight that he was mature, an adult. There was a lot to be told in scent as a horse and he could not quite work out why things were a little strange in the regard.

He was taken to a large, clinically clean stall that didn't look like a regular stable, even though the door was left open behind him, large enough for a horse of his side to easily step through. It didn't bother him, swishing his tail tiredly as he followed them, slack in the rope. It was easier to do that and, besides, he had no equine objection to where they were taking him. Was there hay there? His ears pricked, turning his head back and forth expectantly around the clean, off-white room. Oh, he hoped there was hay!

"Easy there, boy."

They fixed him in crossties in the centre of the rope, one clip on either side of his headcollar, ensuring that he was placed comfortably and safely for everyone to move around him. There was a desk with some technology that he did not recognise in the corner of the room, out of his reach, but, truth be told, Starlight would not have recognised much of the human and anthro world.

Before, he would have. But he didn't know that. All he knew, with his memories and way of being, was that he was a non-anthro horse and was there, living the life of one.

"Here you go, boy, take a good whiff of this. There you go, deep breath now, laddie."

Starlight leaned down curiously to the pot they offered him. It seemed as if it was saturated, inside, with something intoxicating, something that had his tail lifting, quirking slightly back and forth. He grunted, eyes a little wider, a touch of a roll in them, though there was no fear.

Oh. Oh. Oh, that was good. That was very good.

Starlight snorted and whuffled and whipped his head back, only drawn up short by the crossties that kept him in place. He could not help himself, something churning and twisting deep down in the pit of his stomach, feeling as if he wanted to "hunch" and roll his hindquarters forward. The instinct was there, driven by the scent, snorting shortly and sharply, tail whipping back and forth in a frantic release of tension.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

_ _

It lashed the air as the ranch hand stepped back, brushing a shy hand through his hair, rubbing the back of his neck. If he'd been in his full intelligence and mental capacities, he would have realised that the stable hand was a little shy, though it could not be helped as it would turn out to simply be part of his job, a natural way and state of life.

But Starlight was more focused on himself than anything else, grunting, turning his head back and forth, tail lifted, his sheath thickening moment by moment, plumping out with the swell of his equine member. All he knew was the scent of a mare in his nose, wanting to snort and snuffle and to take even more if it in than ever.

"There's a good boy, you relax now..."

His cock pushed out, thick and ready, soft at first and yet swiftly firming up with the pump of blood. The stallion's ears twitched back and forth as he rocked his hips, lightly, from one side to the other, lips quivering as all the tiny muscles in his muzzles twitched. He didn't have to fully understand what was happening and what they had presented him with to respond, snorting, ducking his head, the thick length of his cock slapping and jerking up against his stomach. The flex and contraction of his abdomen muscles pulled it up against his belly, the resounding slap echoing through the otherwise rather sparse room.

"Excellent... His erectile functions appear in full form."

The lynx made a note on the computer, tapping away in the corner, though Starlight didn't pay her much mind. It felt too good to have his cock out, though he wanted to mount, to thrust, driven by instinct. The horse snorted and swung his head back and forth, tail flipped up, having no modesty: all he knew was the need and the urge to breed, pushing and pressing on into further delights of the body.

"Alright there, boy, don't worry, he's got something for you. Sam, please slide the AI device onto him. You will have to hold it manually here. He won't be able to move forward out of the crossties, so just make sure that he does not swing into you if he gets a bit too excited. We'll have a phantom mare for him to mount in future, but his first introduction to it should be nice and slow."

The lynx nodded encouragingly, the ranch hand appearing a little on the petrified side, colour draining from his tanned face, an AI device like an oversized cock sleeve clutched in his hands.

"Go on now, he won't bite. I'll keep a good eye on him from up here."

Their soothing tones softened the edge of Starlight's need as he pawed at the ground, yet the scent was still in the air, the mare's pheromones working their way through his system. He had to cum, had to breed, his cock jerking against his stomach yet again as his muscles contracted, the sperm collection device pressed to the head of his cock. It was a simple design, nothing special for his first time, though Starlight was not to know about that, not as pleasure, abruptly, overwhelmed him.

"There... There now, boy, steady now."

The stable hand grew in confidence, positioned carefully to the side of him and wary of his hind legs, though Starlight was not going to kick him. He was too focused on how good it felt, sweetness enveloping him, grunting, pawing, stomping, though all with his front hooves. His hinds remained firmly planted as he flexed his hocks, just as if he was about to mount and thrust, though there was no need for that without even a stand or a real mare in front of him.

Was that what he wanted? The stallion did not know, could not say, the crossties rattling where the chains forming a section of them clanked against one another. He tried to toss his head, but it felt far, far more natural to arch it, showing off the rise of his stallion-like crest, the larger bulge of fat on the upper side that gave stallions part of their presence. He didn't know that, however, couldn't know that, his eyes closing halfway, snorting, nostrils fluttering.

It was all he could do, all he could try to do, rocking, jerking, trying to thrust, his hind end rounding down, bending at the point where his rump started to rise. There was a flexibility to his body, in that manner, that he had never taken note of before, though he could not simply keep his tail still, lashing back and forth, the long, white strands striking the air. But he couldn't stop, stomping the ground, the device moving lightly back and forth along his cock only a couple of inches, though no one, least of all Starlight, could be at all sure whether that was because he was moving his hips or if it was the AI collection device itself.

It was good though, very good, and that was all that he needed to think about. He did not know what the result of it was, though it linked in with his need to thrust, to grind, wanting to breed. There was no mare there, but he felt as if there was, the scent hanging heavily in the air demanding that he pay it due note. The softness was sweet, so very much so, closing and folding around his cock. It coaxed him to thrust, again and again, though he didn't think about it, instinct and his body dictating the passage of every single moment, grinding and pumping, losing himself in it.

There...in that moment, everything was peaceful. Everything was simple. Everything was exactly as it needed to be.

"There now..." Even the lynx anthro was surprised at how good he was, how well he was responding, his sexual capacity well and truly intact. "Keep going, you're doing so well."

Starlight groaned, the sound reverberating through him, a grumble and a tremble that had the pit of his belly quaking weirdly and wonderfully. There was a trickle of moisture in the cock sleeve, however, that he could not put a name to, thrusting, pumping, need overcoming him.

It was his first time and yet it felt like it had happened many times before, that he had experienced more. He knew about mating and Starlight could not stop himself from imagining a mare under him, feeling the strong roundness of her rump pressing back to him, how her tail lifted and twitched back and forth under his belly, bent to the side and out of the way.

It was a very carnal sensation, even if a part of the stallion was aware too that it was not real, grunting, snorting, feeling his "real" sensations against the ones that were merely in his mind and imagined. Starlight pushed on, snorting, the hide of the mare so soft, so firm, so taut and ready for him under his belly. The curves of her were beautiful, a ripe and ready mare through which he could pass on his bloodlines, for, to a horse, that was the only purpose of breeding. That it felt good, deliciously so, was another thing entirely.

He couldn't stop himself, driven by instinct, just like the beat of his heart pumped blood around his body. If that part of him stopped, the rest of him would stop too. He had to thrust, had to pump, losing himself in it, the scent of sweet grass and hay clinging to his nostrils, tickling at the interior, grunting thickly in the back of his throat. It could not be denied, could not be held back, needing it all, everything so very much.

It was confusing too, sensations crashing into one another, even the swaying jiggle of his equine nuts suddenly something that he felt in tight relief. He never really paid them all that much attention or mind in the past, but he could not ignore them anymore, not when they were bouncing, churning with precious seed.

That was life-giving, his body knew. That was what would bring his foals into the world, all in part, instinct pumping, pulsing, his whole body trembling with a deeply seated root of aching need. His desire there was irrefutable, muscles twitching and jumping, skin shaking as if he was trying to twitch off a fly. Yet he could not hold down his need as he grunted and thrust, caught in the moment, his hocks quivering ever so slightly, though his body was more than strong enough to hold himself even in the throes of so much passion.

But he could feel the mare under him, in his mind's eye, too deeply, rocking back onto his hind legs as if that was just where he needed to put his weight, as if he was really mounting a mare. The lynx laughed, taking a step back, though the stable hand could only let out a squeak, a shaky giggle breaking his lips, though it was frightening to him to be so close to a stallion in the throes of lustful passion.

He had to do it though, even though it was unnerving, Starlight's power not something that he could control, not on his own, not aware of the limits and reaches of his body yet, even though there was still so much more to cum. He was yet to learn the pleasure of orgasm, despite how much his cock ached and throbbed, the tip fattening, flaring.

"There's a good boy..." The lynx smiled, checking something on a sheet of paper. "It might be slower for him, the first time, while he gets used to the sensations. After that, he should be like any other transformed horse we have here and quick on the draw...as a figure of speech."

The stable hand grunted, though he was too busy sweating away beside the body of a muscular, powerful stallion, trying his best not to get bumped to the side. Starlight was out of control, snorting and stamping, his body trying to rock back constantly, yet he could not truly thrust without a body to rest on top of, thrusting and grinding, pumping to his ultimate high. All he could do was try, huffing and puffing, his nostrils flared and slick on the inside as he snorted. His body produced more fluid as his airways expanded for all the breath that he needed to take in, tail hiked and lashing, teasing back and forth with the trembling need deep inside him.

The lynx, however, was still amused by his antics, how his hide shuddered in time with his thrusts, though he could only move about three inches or so most often, needing to stay in place. The crossties strained to hold him in place as he licked his lips and chewed on nothing, working his jaw in yet another attempt at a release of tension. All he knew, however, was that he had to keep thrusting, had to keep going, that nothing could stop him as, well and truly, instinct took over.

Time seemed to slow, allowing him to feel everything in excruciating, delicious detail, powering into the AI breeding device, what would collect the flow of seed from him. He was close, very close, and there was nothing that could be done to hold back, not in the slightest, for it was what his body needed so very desperately. Instinct was a powerful thing indeed, even when one did not know that they were driven by it, his hips working furiously, forehooves on the ground but feeling as if they should have been up in the air still, around the body of a mare. It had to be so, panting, snorting, heaving and grunting, thrusting and grinding, loving his sense of body, even though his mind did not match up with his body.

That was too much for his mind, as it was in that moment, to comprehend, for he was just a horse, seconds passing, his need pummelling through him swiftly. Every throb of his cock brought with it another wave of desire, his balls aching, feeling as if they were churning, as if he could even feel the cum inside sloshing around. Starlight tucked his head down, jaw clenched for a breath of a moment, his tail flagging high and proud, the moment right.

"Yes..."

He ejaculated, lost in lust, the pleasure of breeding, pouring everything that he had into the AI device, even though it felt like a mare, with the silken sweetness of what a real mare's pussy would come with. The horse in him did not care about that, however, as much as he lusted for the moment of breeding exactly as it was, thrusting, filling it erratically, long, hot spurts of stallion seed flooding it and the collection chamber.

"Damn it..."

The stable hand fumbled to hold the device steady, though they had more than enough for their testing to start with. That didn't stop the force of his climax, however, as his body spent rope after rope of thick cum into the sleeve, the chamber sloshing and splashing with so much cum that there was hardly any room free for what was left. His breeding instincts took priority over pleasure, even though there was some tiny, dim part of his mind there that wanted to draw out the moment for as long as possible.

If he could do that...he could have more pleasure for as long as he could have kept thrusting. Starlight didn't know where the thought had come from, but it felt right, as if it was something that he needed, head lowering softly. His hooves settled on the floor as his cock jerked and splattered cum, drooling, dripping, more and more flowing forth even as his first orgasm as a true, non-anthro equine softened through him.

That was all that was needed, even as the stable hand scratched his neck softly, passing off the collection tube to the lynx.

"There's a good boy... You've done well, hey? What a good boy you are, Starlight..."

"Careful," the lynx joked, shaking her head at him. "You're going to get attached to that horse. But I can't see him going anywhere anytime soon."

That was good, at least for Starlight, the stallion's cock drooping as it softened, though the length was still slick and shiny with his fluids. His cream dripped from the tip, the head still flared and fat, though he lusted for more already, his body primed and ready, needing something deep in the pit of his soul.

However, it would not come to him that day.
