The Consequences of New Weapons 2

For Jehander

By Draconicon

With the Argo still undergoing repairs in orbit from the EMP blasts and the blow-out that some of the systems had suffered as a consequence of being overloaded, there was no choice but to take one of the shuttles down to Onserion's surface. The big ship remained in the upper atmosphere, well out of reach of any cannons that might be turned against it, and he trusted his officers to keep everything on-track. The fact that they had taken the planet back was a massive boost to morale, but he knew that with the Fafnides, there was every chance that they might be playing a trick on him and his people.

Not likely, the large sable tiger thought, his arms crossed as he stared at the landing ramp as the shuttle descended through the atmosphere. That would have required knowing that we had a new countermeasure to test, faking the loss of their ship, simulating the loss of the crew, and everything else. It would mean allowing us to take a planet for the sake of splitting an entire fleet. There is no way that they could see that far ahead.

Yet, at the same time, the devious nature of the Fafnides was something that couldn't be denied. Nobody trusted them. Nobody could trust them. Once you fought against an enemy that could take your very mind from you, there was very little that you put down as impossible or too unlikely to occur any longer.

The shuttle broke the cloud layer, a hiss of cold wind passing through the rear of the shuttle as the air pressurized and began the equalization process with the wind outside. They continued a rapid descent, his men at his back gathering their weapons. They didn't expect a full ambush upon landing, but they were prepared just in case. Heavy rifles were held low but at the ready, and every member of the crew, besides him, wore thick body armor and helmets to keep out the worst of any enemy weaponry.

He stood with his hands crossed behind his back as the shuttle came in just outside the governing dome that stood in the capital city of the planet. The shuttle's engines throttled to a stop, and then the landing plank dropped. Four of his men ran down it, while the other four stayed behind him.

No shooting followed, which could only be a good thing. He waited for the felines ahead to give the all-clear, then followed them down.

He was as dignified as possible as he strode down the landing ramp, looking left and right. The plaza was surprisingly undamaged considering the fact that there had just been a war on, and rather than the enslaved races that he had come to expect from the Fafnides' worlds, he found himself looking at a free population, most of them milling about, forming crowds, staring at the sky and at the landing shuttles that touched down all over the capital. Some were staring at him, pointing at him, but he made sure to keep his attention on the badger that was coming down the steps of the dome.

It was the same one that had gotten in touch with him after the bombardment of the dominator-breaker. Seemed like he had gotten over the worst of his headache, too, no longer rubbing the side of his head or wincing every few seconds. More to the point, the badger dragged a lizard that was entirely out of it along on a leash, pulling him forward, then pausing to see that the lizard had stopped walking, and dragging him along a few more steps.

"What do you think's going on, sir?" one of his men whispered.

"I would imagine that there was something that went wrong with the breaker."

"How?"

"Well, judging by the fact that we had only half a firing solution..."

Regis knew that they had managed to do something to the enemy Fafnides when they were fighting them in space, but this had been the first time that the dominator-breaker had been used on a planet-wide scale. It was bound to have some side-effects, but rendering the Fafnide population into drone-like figures like this was certainly not what he had expected. Shaking his head, he marched forward to meet the badger, and his men followed.

"Glad that you finally showed up," the badger said. "What took you?"

"There was a certain amount of damage to my ship. I wished to ensure that it didn't come crashing down if the engines failed."

"That was a possibility?!"

"Well, yes. In war, everything is."

"..."

"There is no possibility of that now, however."

"Thank god..." The badger shook his head, pulling the lizard forward again. "Like I said, the former governor."

"Has he spoken since everything changed?"

"Not a word. I think he might have drooled a little, though."

"Strange..."

"What happened, anyway?"

"Classified, I'm afraid. Is there any of the old government around?"

"That's your first question? Not 'is everyone okay' or something like that?"

"Sir, I am here to set up a temporary government until we can settle on something new. Something that can call the shots in the event of a counterattack by the Fafnides. I imagine that you and your people would find a chain of command useful, and preferable to the Guardians setting up their own military occupation. Is that correct, or shall I send to the home planets for a proper military tribunal government?"

"...There's a few survivors. In the cells and...elsewhere."

"Gather them."

"Hmmph. Some rescue..."

The badger trundled off, obviously offended at something, but Regis didn't have time to worry about that. Whatever the badger had expected of him obviously hadn't been delivered, but for now, he needed to focus on taking charge. He had no intention of spending one more minute here than he really had to, and he wanted to get the hell off this rock before things got more chaotic. With the rest of the fleet spread throughout the border regions, he needed to get Onserion's defenses up and running ASAP. He needed to get the local shield generators outfitted with the tech that had prevented his ship from being converted in the first place, and he needed to ensure that the orbital batteries were repaired and staffed with those that knew their business.

In other words, he was going to be busy for a while, and he couldn't afford to take time to be nice. He gestured to two of his men.

"Go with him. See if there's a prison registry and get me a list of any captured scientists."

"Yes, sir."

No questions. Right at that point, that was exactly what he preferred.

By the evening post-invasion, the capital was as settled as it was going to get. Most of the citizens had come out of their trance-control with relative ease, and those that were still struggling forward had been relegated to the hospitals for overnight watch and care to make sure that they didn't have any incidents while coming back to the world of the real. It would take a little time for them, but they should be okay, according to the medical reports that he had been getting.

There was, however, an unforeseen problem.

There was a select few members of the populace that had been hit particularly hard by the Fafnides' mental control. He had hoped that that merely meant that they needed more time to come out of it, but according to his advisors and the local experts - as well as the few Fafnide experts that they had been able to coherently question - that was going to be irreversible. Such individuals would be able to act half-normal, at best, and they would constantly be seeking for someone to give them commands, someone that would put them to use, someone that would be their commander and master. The damage was all but irreversible.

He sighed as he leaned back in his chair, fighting the temptation to put his feet up on a desk that was too small for him. So much for their new technology being a cure-all. He imagined that some of the fleet would find out that the population on the planets they were 'freeing' were a little less eager to be freed than they thought. That would throw something of a wrench into the current plan, but it shouldn't completely derail it.

We'll just have partial support rather than universal. We can work with that.

At least, that was the hope. He still needed more information, more feedback from the people on the planet to know for sure what had happened with the half-calculated firing solution. So far, the only negative had been the fact that it had fucked over most of the Fafnides to an insane degree, but there might be other issues that they hadn't seen just yet.

He was in the middle of rubbing his forehead and trying to pull his thoughts together when someone knocked on his door. He looked up from the report on his tablet, sighing to himself.

"Come in."

A black-furred feline pushed the door open, stepping inside and shutting it behind him. The soldier saluted.

"Pardon me, sir, but we've found someone that might be useful."

"Mm-hmm? And who are they?"

"Pardon, sir, but they're...a snake."

"...A snake."

The snakes had been a strange species in the war between Ursalio and the Fafnides Empire. While technically a border race, someone that could have come down on either side of the conflict, the snakes had been unofficial helpers to the Fafnides for part of the war, just enough to keep the scaly monsters from descending on their world and taking it over. They were known for having some interesting technology, he remembered, and their scientists were well-considered across most of the galaxy.

"And why is he here?"

"According to his file, he was here to study a weather-control device that the Fafnides were developing, sir. He meant to make it temporary, but the Fafnides decided to experiment on him, instead."

"...Strange. Was there anything in the file to say why? Or what they were doing?"

"Nothing, sir."

"Hmm."

"He...Sir, he's a little strange. He seems to be affected by the mind control that they were using, but he's able to speak freely."

"Oh. One of them." Regis sighed. Well, this would be interesting. "Show him in. You may leave after that."

"Yes, sir."

The panther left the room, stepping back into the hallway. The sable tiger rubbed his forehead, shaking his head. With the point of the operation being to bring freedom back to the conquered worlds, he was starting to feel like they had jumped the gun. He understood the whole point of moving before the enemy realized what you had, but this? This was a dangerous sort of action.

If we mess up on every planet, then the Guardians will have a very difficult time selling this to the people. An inverse of the hypnotic commands of the Fafnides, and not even completely saving everyone?

He had to look at it from the point of view of more than just a soldier. An officer needed to think of the big picture, and now that he knew the consequences, he couldn't see the average citizen looking at this countermeasure in any kindly way. It would become nearly as feared as the device that it was made to defend against.

The door opened again, and he looked up to see who his people had found. What he saw surprised him.

A snake, alright, but one that was nearly as tall as him. Considering that he put most people to shame with his height, that was surprising enough, but the fact that the snake was lean and still fit, despite being controlled for so long, was a surprise as well. Most of those that the Fafnides ended up experimenting on ended up wasting away, since they were so lost in their heads that they didn't do anything that would qualify as taking care of themselves. This one either had been rather valuable to the Fafnides, or he had been able to hold onto something. Judging by the way that he stood, looking him over, Regis would imagine that there was a little more of the latter.

"What is your name?" he asked.

"Crystal Apep," the snake said. "My name is...Crystal Apep."

"I see. An interesting name. Is that how most of your people name themselves?"

"To a degree, sir."

"Hmm."

"I have nicknames, if you would prefer them, sir."

"Do you prefer them?"

"If calling me by a mineral form bothers another, then yes."

"...I suppose that's fair enough. Then what is your nickname?"

"Crys is the one usually used, sir."

"Then Crys it is." He nodded, gesturing for the snake to take a seat. Crys glanced at the seat, but did not more. He sighed. "Sit," he said, putting a slight edge to his voice, imitating the tone that he often heard from the tapes of those that the Fafnides had hypnotized.

Sure enough, it had quite the effect. The young serpent darted to the seat and put himself in it, sitting politely with his legs together and his tail drawn back and over his shoulder. The blue-scaled, bipedal serpent was certainly someone that set off contradictory thoughts. On the one hand, he didn't seem to be entirely himself. On the other, he was quite well-controlled.

Hmmph...snakes.

Shaking his head, Regis leaned back. He shuffled the documents amidst the tablets on his table, keeping his hands busy for a moment as he gathered his thoughts.

"My name is Regis Tiger, and I am the temporary commander of the military forces on this planet. Do you understand that?"

"I understand that you are the man in charge."

"That's correct, for now. Do you know what has happened since this afternoon?"

"The old masters were removed and new masters have been installed."

"...That's one way of putting it, yes. Do you still consider them your masters?"

"No. They are defeated and dethroned. I lack a master at this point."

"I see. And do you require one?"

"Ideally."

Well, that gave him more information than he had. If that was the case for the others that had been affected long-term, then it didn't necessarily mean that they didn't have a chance to turn back to Ursalio and the Guardians. It did, however, mean that they would be needing something in the way of a caretaker, someone that would be able to give them what they required to function. But if they were half as strange as this Crys...

"Do you have a nickname, sir?" Crys asked.

"Hmm?"

"A nickname. I have shared mine. What would yours be?"

"I haven't thought about it. I am happy with mine."

"Would you consent if I gave you one?"

"...I suppose."

"May I suggest Rex, sir?"

The sable tiger had to admit, he hadn't expected the conversation to go quite like this. He had intended on just seeing what this former prisoner had been going through, but the more they talked, the stranger it seemed, and the more it darted around. It had been fruitful so far, though, so he nodded, going along with it. At the very least, he might learn more if he allowed the snake a little more leeway.

"I will allow it."

"Thank you, Rex, sir."

"Why do you keep calling me that? You're not military."

"No, I am not. I am a scientist. However, I recognize authority, and..."

"...And what?"

"I am aware that there would be few candidates better than yourself as a superior. Or a master, I suppose, in a different way of speaking."

"..."

"Rex, sir?"

If there was one thing that he hadn't expected, it was that. Regis knew that there would be awkward moments throughout the occupation, but he hadn't expected to run into one the moment that he talked to one of the former prisoners. Shaking his head, he stood up from the desk.

"I believe it's time for you to leave."

"I apologize if I have offended you, sir."

"You haven't. Merely...confused me."

"Then perhaps I can -"

"No. You may speak with me tomorrow."

May, of course, being the operative word. He had every intention of being back on the Argo tomorrow, and being well on his way to putting this behind him. The files on this Crys would be sufficient for further information, provided that he got someone to fill in the blanks with an interview with the snake later. He shook his head, gesturing at the door.

"You may leave."

"...As you wish, Rex, sir."

The snake got to his feet, turning on his heel and departing. The black jumpsuit that he wore did give him a rather...appealing look, Regis realized. He shook his head, the tiger putting the idea out of his mind. Slaves were there for multiple reasons, and just because this one was looking for a master didn't mean that he was allowed to think of doing that to the snake. It was hardly appropriate, ethically or otherwise.

Shaking his head, he went back to his tablet. He had a great deal of reading to do before the departure tomorrow.

#

The morning was taken up with approving a governor and head of state as a temporary measure until the planet could decide a proper one. Military officers that had been kept enslaved were put back to work, doing their duties with the planetary batteries and the other defenses that Onserion still had. Most of them were a little out of practice, but Regis had every confidence in them learning how to do their duty again.

It was noon when all the technicalities were out of the way and he was able to board his shuttle. He stepped onboard with his men, but didn't feel entirely comfortable until the landing ramp was closed and the thump of the engines firing jolted through him. They left the planet behind and flew through the silence of space.

And I am away from him...

It wasn't that he disliked Crys, precisely. It was more that there was something off about the snake, something about the serpent that made him feel as if there was something wrong with him. When Crys had mentioned that he was looking for a master...

Regis had felt something then, something that he hadn't been comfortable with. It was one thing to be the officer of a ship, to look after the people that lived on it and make sure that everything ran properly. It was something else entirely to be the one responsible for the actions of another living being.

And the things that I could ask of him...

It concerned him, and he didn't want to push that line right then. He had his hands full as it was, and he didn't need to have to take care of someone else, as well.

The shuttle ride to the Argo didn't take long, and soon, he was departing the shuttle. The tiger took his time heading back to his quarters, making a stop here and there at the different stations to see what the repairs were up to. Navigation and Engineering seemed almost back to full power, and Shields were halfway back to normal. They just needed one more day and they would be back to full capability.

It made him feel better about their chances if the Fafnides decided to send another assault force to take back the planet. He doubted that they would at this point - it had been twenty-four hours since the attack and nothing had come over the official channels - but there was still the possibility. The planet-side weapons were good, but the more defenses they had, the better, and the Argo was built for that sort of thing.

He took his leave, went to his quarters -

"Hello, Rex, sir."

And he stopped right in his tracks as he looked inside and found Crys waiting for him. The snake stood there, hands folded behind his back like some new cadet, and he was dressed in the bright blue uniform of the science team. The snake had no shame, either, standing with his hips thrust forward ever so slightly in a very non-militaristic way, and his eyes were shining brightly.

"...What are you doing here?" Regis asked as the door shut behind him.

"You said that I may speak to you again today."

"..."

"I took that as permission, and took the necessary arrangements to make it so. I have procured myself a position as a member of your science team, and I told security that I had important findings for you to examine."

For all the ways that the snake had managed to bypass protocol and security, it was rather impressive that someone that had been a total slave merely a day ago had managed to get what he wanted. If there had been anything more aggressive in the snake's posture or words, he would have been concerned for his life, but instead...

Instead, there was this feeling of near-desperation. He could see that slight twinkle of madness in the serpent's eye, the reminder of what he had been, the need that he had to be owned and mastered. That hadn't faded. It might never do.

Regis sighed.

"Fine. I'm here, then," he said, taking off his officer jacket and sitting at the foot of his own bed. "What do you want?"

"I wish to offer you advice, Rex, sir."

"On what topic?"

"Slavery, sir."

"Slavery is disallowed throughout all systems allied to the Guardians," he said by rote. "You are no longer a slave."

"I'm afraid that is not possible, Rex, sir."

"And why's that?"

"There has been too much...damage, for lack of a better term. I am changed. And I would see myself submitted to you, rather than to another."

"You're asking me to be your master?"

"And owner, and other such terms. Yes, sir."

"...I can't see this being a good idea."

"If you will permit me, sir, I will show you why it is."

There was every reason to turn the snake down for that. The more that Crys was indulged, the less likely that this would end well for either of them. At the same time...

Regis looked the blue-suited snake over, and he could not miss the slight bulge in the snake's trousers, nor the way that his tail was high and his rump slightly displayed from the side. It was clear that they were both starting to think of the same things, and he sighed under his breath. This was one thing that he would just have to indulge in, he supposed. He rubbed his forehead.

"I suppose I'll allow it. But just once. And if you don't convince me..."

"Trust me, Rex, sir. I can be most convincing."

He would be the judge of that. Yet, he still went along with it, allowing the snake to strip him of his shirt, and then of his pants. He leaned back to allow his uniform to be taken from him, leaving him naked in short order and completely exposed to the other man. He groaned under his breath, trying not to feel too self-conscious of having his cock and balls on display, particularly as he was the naked one, now.

That didn't last long. The snake slipped out of his own uniform, Crys showing off his body in a way that the jumpsuit hadn't quite managed. He was a shimmering blue figure with his bright scales groomed and cleaned to reflect the light above, and he had a slender figure to him. Sure, there were muscles beneath the scales, but not so many as to create bulges and hard points. If anything, he looked rather...swishy, in his own way.

Once the two of them were naked, the snake slithered around, moving up to the bed and sitting behind him. For a moment, Regis was concerned that he'd be touched from behind, something that he didn't want, but instead, the snake reached around his middle. Soft, delicate hands wrapped around his sac, lifting his balls up before gently rubbing them. The other hand moved up, stroking his shaft, teasing it upright. Despite himself, he growled at the slight pleasure that started to run through his shaft.

"It has been some time, yes, sir?"

"Mmmph...a little while."

"Then allow me to relieve you."

"You think this isn't?"

"I have many things that I can do for you, sir. Some that will happen without you needing to ask, but others..."

He knew that he could ask a slave to do nearly anything, but the idea of asking this prisoner, this former slave, to do something felt wrong. He turned his head away, but there was some soft hiss that followed.

"Listen...just listen to what I have to say..."

Those hands gently stroked, still, gradually teasing him up, then letting him down, then teasing his shaft up again. That long tail slid forward, going under his thigh before slowly coiling around the base of his shaft. Regis didn't know what was happening to his mind, but he knew that he was enjoying this far more than he expected. He groaned, feeling the lengths of tail slowly spiraling up his member.

"Mmmph..."

"This is what you need, Rex, sir." Crys nuzzled into the back of his neck. "Someone to take care of you. Someone to look after you."

"Isn't that...Mmmph..."

His question was choked off with a sudden squeeze down below, something that was oddly pleasing to him at the same time. He shivered, curling his toes against the sheets as the snake continued to pleasure him.

"That's it. Allow me to care for you. Allow yourself the pleasure of your station. Allow yourself the pleasure that comes from having one under you."

Regis didn't have words, and he forced himself to try and focus on the pleasure and nothing else. The feeling of that tail on his shaft was something else, and he kept huffing despite himself. Soon, he was harder than he had ever been, and yet, those words kept hissing down his ear, whispering to him, asking him for more.

"A commander, a master, need not worry for others. They will do as they are told. All he has to do is see to it that they follow their duties, and that they have structure. I will serve you, Rex, sir. I will see to your pleasure. And you will be the master."

"Nnngh..."

"You will have the pleasure of my touch. I will be what you wish. And you will be the master that is needed."

Something was wrong. Something was off, but at the same time -

"Ah..."

He moaned as the tail tip rubbed right under the head of his shaft, tickling the spot just under his urethra, making him dribble. The whispers of the snake, the soft hypnotic tones -

Hypnosis? Was that...

"Nnngh..."

"Please...allow me to help you be what you could be..." Crys's voice was soft, gentle, but with that tinge of desperation that he had seen in the snake's eyes. "Let me help you be what we both need...I need a master...and you must be one..."

The tiger groaned, but...for reasons that he could not have explained if he tried, he allowed it. The tones echoed through his mind, settling into his skull as he relaxed, and he felt the whispers doing something to him. Something...something new, something powerful, something that made this okay in a way that it hadn't been before.

I must be losing my mind to allow this...

Yet, at the same time, it felt...good. Good to allow that strange need from before to feel okay. Good to not dislike himself for feeling aroused at the idea of using a 'slave'. Good to feel powerful. Good to...

Just good.

He groaned as he reached back slowly, fumbling around until he found the serpent's shaft. It was hard, alright, hard and almost drooling on his sheets. He grunted as he wrapped his hand around it, giving it a few firm pumps, and the snake hissed in an entirely different tone in his ear, one of pleasure and genuine happiness.

After that, he turned, facing the serpent. They looked each other in the eyes, Crys started to open his mouth, and Regis shut him up with a quick kiss. It was nothing affectionate or romantic, merely something to stop him talking, but it deepened into one of tastes and intimacy. They fell backwards onto the bed proper, and the serpent's legs spread wide, showing off an entrance that was as eager as it was used.

Rather than feeling shame, guilt, or anything like that, Regis felt a hunger. Something deep, primal, enticing that made him want to grab the snake by the ankles and bend him in half, that made him want to use him. The shame that dissuaded him from following up on that before was nowhere to be found, and he grabbed the snake by the legs, pushing him back, back, back, until he was almost bent in half.

"You want to be mine?" he growled, only half aware of himself at that moment.

"Yes...yes, Rex, sir."

"Then take it."

His cock was hard, almost painfully so, and he knew that there was no backing down now. All he wanted was that hole. All he needed was the feeling of that pucker spread around his cock. And he was going to have it. He pushed down, felt only a hint of resistance against his pre-soaked head, and then he was inside. The pleasure of having his cock wrapped in such warm flesh, such tight, clenching flesh, was almost enough to make him cum right there.

Almost, but not quite. He had enough discipline to hold back.

Looking down at the pinned serpent, he saw Crys smiling up at him. This was what the former slave wanted. This was what he needed.

And now, he had the ability to give it to him.

With a grunt of effort, he slammed down, burying his cock down and pinning the snake against the bed in a mating press. He knew that they were going to be at this for a while, so he might as well start off right. He would take him hard, he would use Crys right to the point of blowing his load, and then he'd stop.

That's what he told himself. He hoped that he would be able to follow through.

The End
