PART: ONE HUNDRED & NINE

A hsoka lent back against the seat in sordid little café, the coffee just like the tea was comparable to muddy water, blobs of partially dissolved whitener. She wouldn't have been surprised if it was the cheapest whitening powder money could buy, the low grade sugar was no better as could see by the odd sweetener tablet that the proprietor had missed when crushing them up to save on money while make the sugar go further.

The place should have been shut down long ago by health and safety inspectors but Ahsoka was sure the probably got paid off with a discreet under the table bribe, the only good thing about the place was its discreet location down one of the side alleys with a surprisingly fast wifi which suited her needs perfectly.

A sizeable tip kept the owner from disturbing her as she set up in the corner furthest away from the entrance, she could put up with the foul smell of the over used cooking oil, arceus only knew how old the oil was she flicked away some roach pokémon the size of her thumb as it started to clamber upon to her open laptop, it hissed at her as it went sailing onto the floor. Nearby she could see from the corner of her eye a shady looking bean pole of a man in a purple tracksuit, she ignored the hate filled looks he threw her way as the team rocket encryption kept him out. It amused her as he accessed her device via the café's open wifi only to be blocked at every attempt to get into any of the files, the giant of a woman kept her expression neutral as she monitored his attempts. She only brought the amusement to an end when the individual tried to up load some malware, a combination of hot keys brought the entertainment to end shutting the intruder out completely while installing a little nasty software to brick his own device.

"BITCH!"

Came the cry from across the way, she smiled inwardly as she kept her features passive, even as to her surprise he stormed over towards her with pure outrage written about his face. Switching the computer to sleep mode as he drew up to her, she watched nonchalant as he slammed down his lap top and glared accusingly, if he expected her to be intimidated, then he was out of luck. After a few moments he looked back to his laptop before looking back to her as if expecting some reaction, when none came his frustration seemed to increase as he reached out for hers. It all happened with frightening speed, her fist shot out to engulf his as she clamps down with a sickening cracking sound as the man's fingers were crushed into a mangled mess. The hacker squealed like a distressed tepig as he went white as a sheet, he was still squealing as she released his hand letting him drop to the floor holding his wrist with his other hand as he looked down at what remained of his fingers with a look of absolute horror.

"You might want to get that seen to, or not, I don't really care."

Ahsoka spoke, her tone making it clear that he was beneath her contempt, staggering his way out of the café he bumped in to a large man, dressed in a long black over coat. The new person was clean shaven and a scar running down along one eye, the man wasted no time in heading swiftly over to Ahsoka throwing the owner a wiry look as he took a seat at her table.

"Trouble?"

He asked curiously, a half smile played across his face as he gestured to an unoccupied chair, she gave a slight nod.

"No trouble at all"

She mused as he took a seat, pulling out a phone he traced out an 'R' upon the unlock pattern screen causing the screen to go black was a red rotating ringed R-symbol appeared upon the screen. Ahsoka gave a cruel smile as she reciprocated in kind.

"Name's Stone, I'm taking over from the previous team"

Stone noted swiping on the icon in the middle of the screen, it began to spin faster before the screen again changed this time with multiple apps that the normal average phone wouldn't be privy to.

"And the previous team?"

She enquired in reference to the former team of enforcers.

"See for yourself"

He noted tapping on one of the app, sliding through several files before selecting one to open he swept his thumb up sending a copy of the file to Ahsoka's phone. She looked at her phone, tapping on each image to go to the next, she felt her stomach lurch as the contents of her stomach wanted to orally vacate her body. She kept her breakfast down while retaining her icy cold demeanour, the only expression she allowed to escape was a slow sigh.

"So we're dealing with a psychic type after all?"

She spoke with a hushed tone, it was more of a statement than a question but Stone nodded slowly, he was impressed he had grimaced when he had seen the mutilated remains of the previous team.

"The egg heads back in global HQ confirmed it, though unsure exactly what we're dealing with, to be safe regional HQ sent these to back you up."

With this the enforcer brought out two pokéballs and slid them across the table to her, sweeping them into her hand she pocketed them whilst pulling out the one containing the mightyeana she had caught.

"Take this back for training, it has potential, it took out my golbat"

Stone like wise swiftly concealed the pokéball, he leant slightly in his chair before asking.

"This trainer, in your honest opinion, is it really worth all the resources being put into it?"

She fixed him a firm glare but he did not flinch, so she decided to respond.

"I freely admit the asset is far too trusting and far to forgiving for his own good, these qualities allow for easy manipulation, as long as trust is retained, as for the benefits, I would say access to the garden is more than worth it."

Ahsoka replied carful to refer to Jack as an asset and the eeveelution sanctuary as its code name, the man rubbed the stubble along his chin for a few seconds, save for a frown his face was unreadable.

"I hope so, there are a lot of people high up on the organisations food chain; that want to give the pokémon phantom a wide berth, even if it means cutting assets free to do so."

Stone rumbled taking a hold of her mug of coffee and taking a deep gulp only to spit back out as he recoiled in utter disgust.

"Arceus!.... that's disgusting"

She just smiled a cruel twisted smile; she watched his façade lower for but a moment before returning once more but that was all she needed to see. He was as uneasy about what was happening as she was but most likely had his own superiors breathing down his neck maybe giving him just enough rope to either succeed or hang himself in the process. Could she trust this man? No, not by a long shot but she was sure she could work with him or at the very least use him for her own means.

"That it is, but it's great for a private conversation, think you can re-purpose that laptop for me?"

She mused casually, it was his turn to chuckle now as he grabbed the bricked laptop and took his leave pausing only to say one last thing.

"See you around, or not"

With that he took his leave, leaving Ahsoka to look down at the images still upon her phone, she allowed herself a shudder as she contemplated how it could have been her Jack in the screen. Still the question remained in far reaches of her mind, just why had the pokémon showed Jack mercy, if one could consider what had happened merciful in any stretch of the imagination. This along with so many more unanswered questions and that bothered her.

"What do you want with him?"

She whispered under her breath; her eyes still fixed on the screen. With a sigh she traced a reverse 'R' on the screen with her finger tip, the screen reverted back to the unlock screen. The amazon sat there in contemplation for a while, her mind running over everything in her mind as she dissected and analysed everything from that night at the motel.
