#3 of The Queen and Her Alpha

Chapter Three

Ashryn-

Ashryn pushed the door open and was greeted with few loud squeals.

"Queen Alpin!"

Thea smiled and came over to meet her.

"What a surprise. Settle now children. Remember your manners."

The room was bright with color. Eight children ran to their seats and sat quietly with their hands/paws folded. Two elves, three Lycans, and three humans. All with smiling happy faces. Ashryn stood with Thea at the front of the class.

"Hello younglings. Are you all having a good day?"

"Yes your majesty."

They answered together. Ashryn smiled at them. She always adored visiting the school.

"How is school going?"

"Good! We are going outside today to catch BUGS!"

A young Lycan yelped happily. His obvious best friend, an Elf, perked up and said.

"Thea says it is for science! We like science!"

"You all are doing so well."

Thea boasted smiling.

"I am very proud of all of you. Queen Alpin, you should have quite a few up and coming scientist for Lyonhall."

Ashryn nodded and looked to Luka. He stood just behind her gazing around the room.

"Good we need them. Can't count on King Luka. He's terrible at catching bugs."

"I am not!"

Luka's big head snapped to her, a kind smile playing across his muzzle.

"I am the best."

"I dunno."

Ashryn looked to the students who giggled into their hands.

"I think they may be able to beat you. Thea, think we can join you for science class?"

Thea laughed. Her eyes happily looked to her students.

"Think we have enough room for two more?"

"YES!"

The room screamed. Ashryn took Luka's big paw in her hand and smiled at him.

"Let's see who can out hunt who Draug."

><

Ashryn watched her mate romp around with the children within the tall grass. Catching different jumping bugs. Thea sat with Ashryn holding a small cage with a few inside.

"He is wonderful with the younglings."

Ashryn looked to Thea as she smiled.

"Who would have thought?"

"Luka hides his soft side well, but he is just as kind as you Thea."

Ashryn returned her smile.

"Still, I am surprised at how gentle your race can be."

"Stories are often told by one side. Lycans are fierce yes but only when it is needed. I'm sure our King has ripped throats out for you M'lady."

"Of course. Isn't it odd the same teeth that have torn into flesh leave marks across my skin?"

"Turn on for sure."

Thea joked with a laugh.

"It is a shame you two cannot breed. Your offspring would be something of legend."

Ashryn looked over to Luka, his black tail was the only thing visible. She often wished they would be able to have children together, but no Elf nor Lycan had ever sired children in their history. Just two different for anything to work.

"I agree. I often pictured him with a little girl hanging off his arm."

"I will pray to the moon goddess for you two."

Thea met her gaze and smiled.

"She has worked wonders before. But enough of what could be, I hear through the vines we will have visitors soon."

"Yes, I always find it enjoyable to show off my king. New faces wrought with confusion."

"I do enjoy telling others what Hold I call home. Lyonhall is known worldwide because of what you do for the Lycans."

"Just shows not all of us, Human and Elf alike, hate Lycans. No different from us. Do your family proud, raise children, have your needs met. We are all alike and refuse to think or deal with anything who says different."

"You are an amazing Queen. I and my family will always follow your command."

"Thank you Thea. I do hope you stay with us for the rest of time."

Thea gave Ashryn a warm smile, her eyes happy as could be.

"Of course M'lady."

A while later the students as well Luka came over to them. Luka in his base wolf form came right over to Ashryn and nudged his muzzle into her hands. She smiled and kissed his nose.

"Catch any bugs Draug?"

"A few. Left the bigger ones for the younglings. They need to learn, I do not."

"I am glad to have your help then my King."

Thea remarked with a smile.

"Whoever taught you was a fine teacher. Shame I will never meet your childhood healer."

"She was a kind female. You do tend to remind me of her. Soft as newborn fur but a tongue as sharp as steel."

Ashryn watched Luka gently touch Thea's shoulder.

"You do our race a kindness by just existing."

Thea nearly started crying but kept her composure as a student caught her attention. Ashryn turned Luka towards her and smiled at him.

"Draug...your own kindness is showing."

"You bring it out of me."

His reply was soft.

"It is always you who keeps me kind. I am glad to have you."

"Good, because I am not leaving."

She gave his nose a flick with her finger and said.

"And neither are you."

"Of course my queen. I obey your orders until the end of time itself."

Late that night Ashryn lead Luka to their room for the night. The three men from Crystal Keep had arrived and sent to bunk down for the night. She had only seen a glance of them through the window. Two burly looking guards and a human for a Duke. Interesting. Not often she would see humans sent to discuss trade.

Luka brushed by her snapping her out of thought.

"Where are you going?"

"It is bath day for me."

She watched him turn back to her, his golden eyes shining today.

"And we have guests to speak with tomorrow morning. I must look my best to stand beside you."

Ashryn smiled and went to his side. Taking his paw in her hands she studied his claws.

"You make a good point King. I was speaking with Thea about you today. How these same claws rip through flesh but caress me with such sweetness."

"Do I worry you M'lady?"

His arms came around her suddenly. Pressing her into his fur. He smelled wild, like the trees dancing in a summer breeze.

Ashryn let out a smile and shook her head against him.

"Not at all. It is just interesting. Relax Draug, I can feel you getting tense."

His arms relaxed a bit as he moved to gaze down at her. Patting his chest she gazed back at him.

"I won't leave you, you do not scare me, and you will always be my King. Now, are doing our normal vetting tomorrow with our guests?"

"Yes, the Guru are prepped and I will lead our new Betas to show them what to look for."

"I will say I do always look forward to this part. Watching humans and elves alike squirm seeing the way we live. They speak loyal but body actions speak louder."

Ashryn gave a small laugh then said.

"Having you be the one I kiss drives them mad."

Luka's cold nose pushed into her neck making her squeal and push away.

"Luka! Stop! You know I hate that!"

His soft chuckle and warm muzzle pushed back into her neck.

"But I do enjoy hearing you squeal. I am going to bathe. As always you are welcome to join me."

"Ass. I will make up our bed then come scrub your ears like I know you like so much."

He laughed again and kissed her shoulder.

"I love you so dearly. Out of all my six hundred years here, these have been my favorite."

"Good to know I rate so highly. Go on then."

Luka kissed her once more. Ashryn grabbed his paw as he went to leave then said.

"Oh, and there is one of you I fear. You call her mama and she is the only Lycan I have ever feared."

Luka laughed shaking his head.

"I fear her too."

As the sun rose the next morning Ashryn was shaken awake by Kiara rapping on her door.

"M'lady?"

"Come in."

She sat up as Kiara wandered in, a book in her arm.

"Sorry to wake you majesty...Duke Foster is getting antsy. Your meeting is in two hours."

"It's alright Kiara."

Ashryn let out a yawn then looked over to Luka. He was slightly awake, she could tell by his breathing.

"I'll gather our King and head out. I know Arnold is annoying when he is antsy."

"Thank you M'lady."

Kiara took her leave and as soon as the door snapped shut Ashryn flopped down onto Luka's side.

"Morning Draug!"

He rumbled with a low growl turning his head back into his pillow. Ashryn laughed and crawled atop him.

"Wakey-wakey. We have guests to test."

"It should be a law not to have meetings this early."

She kissed his muzzle over and over again until his eyes opened.

"Alright, I am up."

"Good."

Ashryn pushed him to his back and straddled his waist.

"Because we have two hours until our meeting and I'd like to spend at least one of them with you."

"Oh?"

A sinful smile crossed his muzzle as his paws settled on her bare hips.

"And what would you like to do for that hour?"

Ashryn leaned down and kissed him.

"Prove my never ending love for you."

"I do enjoy that."

"I know Draug...I know."
