Chapter 3
The goons seemed tough but on the inside there were nothing but wimps they wouldn't use that knife on him. Kevin raised up his arm to deflect the blow of the blades. On impact they both created two deep cuts on the arm but in the process both of there knives broke.
"That'll teach you punk."
He looked down at his damaged arm and smiled.
"You know those attacks might have damaged me if my arms were real."
He was right the skin was staring to fuse back together and in less than two seconds it was like the marks were never there.
"What are you?" one of them asked.
"Me? I'm just an average human." he said standing there mocking them.
"It makes no difference we don't need weapons to finish you." they said both balling up there hand and running at Kevin.
Kevin didn't move he just waited 'till they were close enough and right before there fist hit his face he used both hands to knock there punches aside then he placed his hands on there stomach.
"It was nice knowing ya." he said.
They thought he was bluffing but then they felt something hit there stomachs and they both flew backwards into a store window.
"Well that was easy."
He washed his hand in a near by puddle to get the blood off his hand.
"Scum bag."
After all the blood was gone he got up and stretched. Katie couldn't believe what she had just seen. Those guys could have killed him yet he still protected her. She didn't notice until she saw him staring that she was still topless. She tried to cover herself with her arms but it was to late he had already seen. She didn't open her eyes until she felt something warm wrap around her body. Kevin had taken off his jacket and placed it around her.
"Lets get you home." he said in that soft kind voice she loved.
She nodded and zipped up the jacket so no one else could see her naked. As they walked the both began to talk to one another and Kevin had even told her how he got his new arms.
"So you were experimented on?"
He nodded.
"I was pretty young maybe about seven or eight when it happened."
She didn't want to make him feel bad but one question still alluded her mind.
"Where were you when it happened?"
He shrugged.
"Not sure. I remember a room filled with tools and computers but I kept going in and out of conscious."
She couldn't resist she suddenly grabbed his arm and almost made him fall.
"What's wrong?"
Her fingers were rubbing his arm then when she stopped she looked up at him.
"They feel so real like real skin."
He was a little confused why she stopped him for that but all he did was let out a little chuckle.
"Yea there pretty real."
What made them look even more real was the face that she couldn't tell where the wrist connected to the arm. There was no crease in the arm at all.
They finally came up to the main building of the farm.
"Want to come in?" she asked.
"Sure but there something I want to ask..."
But she was already half way up the big flight of stairs leading to the building. He ran up the steps as fast as he could up the stairs. He was almost out of breathe but he could still stand so that was good.
"There are other girls here so please don't tell them what happen." she pleaded.
"I promise."
She liked the way he looked at her she liked everything about him. When she opened the door to go inside something unexpected happened.
"By the way Katie I need to ask you..."
He was stopped by a swat to the face by a wooden pole. He fell backwards onto the ground and looked up to see a black cat girl with yellow eyes staring at him.
"What were you doing at night with her?" the girl demanded.
"I was well.."
She swatted the pole more near a place no man should ever be hit.
"No excuses what were you doing out with her?"
"Mallory stop he was just walking me home from school."
"Then why are you home so late?"
They looked at each other and knew that they couldn't hide it.
"Well you see I was.." but she was stopped by Kevin.
"She was at the theater with me. That's all I promise."
She stared at him a bit longer then but down the pole. Both Katie and Kevin sighed with relief. He finally walked inside and saw that there were two more girls inside. The blonde headed one seemed to be observing him before he jumped on his head.
"Um what is she doing on my head?" he asked a little confused.
"That's Sarah and that's just her way of saying that she likes you."
"Ok... strange anyways as I was saying I needed to ask you something."
He dug into his pocket and pulled out a flyer that had been hanging on a light pole.
"Im looking for a place to stay and im also looking for work."
They all looked at him suddenly.
"So I came here to get a job."
