Chapter 24 and part one of Rexville. Keanu's and Hunter's first date! NOTE: There is a small/mild NSFW ahead.

Chapter 24: Le Date Part 1

The following morning of Thursday, Keanu excitingly told his father about his date with Hunter. He could not stop wagging his tail. His date was tomorrow Friday evening. He went online for more information about the amusement park before arriving at the tram station that morning. He met up with Hunter there who was just being himself, but on the inside, he was giddy about the date too. His tail was wagging gently, excited to see Keanu this morning.

Keanu was quiet when he reunited with Hunter, feeling silly, shy, and still could not believe he asked him out last night by phone.

The company was slightly awkward and quiet during the ride, but it was pleasant. Hunter did not want to pressure his excitement which was tomorrow, and he needed some space after taking the courage to ask him out.

Just sitting together alone, with their presence known, their hearts equally fluttered.

Hunter and Keanu went to their respective classes that morning and took their own breather until they meet back again in the cafeteria.

Keanu's body gesture was very visible during art class, Milagros and Xavier already spotted the moment when he walked up to them with that good morning smile.

Xavier leaned to Milagros from his easel and whispered, "What's wrong with him? He looks like he finally dropped a giant dump."

Milagros whispered back, "He asked Hunter out this Friday night."

"Ah, that's nice..." he continued to draw his sketch pad on the easel. "And what did Hunter say to him that made him so cheery today?"

"He just said yes, obviously~." She smiled.

"Hmm, I know that satisfied look, did you help him?"

"Not really, but yes, he came to me for some helpful advice."

"I see, just try not to become a fujoshi or something. Those types of fangirls cannot let go of their favorite couple."

"Heh, whatever."

"Umm, didn't Hunter date someone before? I can't remember."

"You mean Lester, he and Hunter had to break up because of his parents not accepting a beastman."

"Ah, right, ouch, but it's nice to see him moving on. And what about you...?"

"What about me?"

"You and Lenny, nothing problematic?"

"Nothing so far, I guess he finally moved on."

Milagros thought quietly for a short moment, Xavier quietly continued with his drawing. She admitted she made a mistake in dating Lenny James. Hunter was her first option when they were getting along on their first semester together, but upon her discovering his orientation around October from last year, it changed her scenery completely. She eventually lost interest in Hunter afterward, knowing she had no chance with him, and moved on. Hunter was still exploring his newfound, out-of-the-closet, freedom and went out hanging with Sol and meeting new people who were like him, that made Milagros happy to see Hunter that way and today.

The following semester, she met Lenny and later began dating last spring break until she broke up with him near the end of the semester.

She quietly sighed and continued drawing her picture.

...

A nice compensation was all it took if the person in question would take the offer. Guessed Topher would not mind Robin's offer after the trouble they went through last Halloween night.

After his baseball practice, he arrived at his dorm in his casual clothes, a green and blue striped shirt, and light gray shorts. Robin asked if he was still in his uniform after practice, but Topher rejected the idea of roleplaying and staining further his sports clothes.

"Heh," Robin scoffed through the phone, "says the guy who dressed as Ermac and made out with Sub-Zero."

The raccoon arrived at Topher's dorm, first a nice short conversation, and then their steamy session began.

Topher was tired but aroused, so he let Robin take over on top of him as he lay on the bed. Topher didn't feel like being kissed, so Robin laid his kisses on his cheeks and neck. He watched him unclothed himself to his black underwear where he saw an excited lump sticking out on his crotch.

Maybe he shouldn't have worn his cleaned clothes and stuck with his used uniform before going to the showers since he was going to be dirty again.

The pleasure and teasing were good as he laid there and watched the raccoon touching him, taking off his clothes, feeling his strong muscles, unbuttoning his shorts, sniffing his crotch, taking off his underwear, blowing him, putting him a condom, riding him, and climaxing in front of him and inside of Robin.

Topher released a heavy, relieving sigh. It was a nice compensation.

The maned wolf and the raccoon laid side by side on the almost cramped bed for one person, sweating and panting from their afterglow.

Robin panted. "So, you like it?"

"Yeah, thanks, didn't know I had a bit of energy left," said Topher.

"This was for all the trouble we did, kind of celebratory."

Topher scoffed.

"What?" Robin asked.

"Yeah, the sex was good, but aren't you worried about getting in trouble? I mean, Sol saw me and knows who I am."

"Well, that's your problem, now." Robin got up from the bed and picked up his clothes on the floor. "Don't bother about Sol, he learned his lesson."

"What about you?" Topher shifted on the bed to take the available space, one hand under his chin, and smirked, "Did you learn your lesson when you were crushing on a guy and shouldn't have slept with your crush's roommate?"

"That was a trap, you idiot," Robin quietly flustered as he put his underwear and pants on, "of course I would have fallen for it."

"You should have known better and resisted your urges, looks to me that Sol found a weakness and tested you for who you are."

"Shut up, you don't know me."

"I know you enough that you almost enjoy sleeping with everyone in this university. I think... I think that prank he did to you woke you up."

"As I said, you don't know me." He put on his shirt and flannel, unbuttoned. "That guy shouldn't have messed with me in the first place."

Topher rolled his eyes. "To be frank, I feel bad for him for what I did."

He hissed, "Don't say that; he deserved to be punished. The next time we meet up don't bother to mention his name again, I don't want to hear him again, and I want to forget about him. And why are you feeling guilty? You shouldn't be..."

"I shouldn't be what?"

Robin was quiet, and he groaned and grumbled. "You s-shouldn't be sorry to him!"

"Well, I cannot help myself but feel that way, Robin, I was an object to you to attract Sol's attention. I did my part and I feel sorry for him for doing something that was totally out of my league. I'm going to apologize to him."

Robin stood there in disbelief as if he were betrayed as if he were the bad guy...

He frowned darkly at him. "...Fuck you." He stomped his way to the door and slammed it shut loudly.

Topher laid there on the bed with one hand under his chin, looking at the closed door. "Nice fucking with you," he said nonchalantly and sighed. "He'll get over it... hopefully..."

He honestly started to have sorry thoughts on Sol, and he was trying to figure out a way to apologize and heal his wounds. The time they had talked was kind of fun, even if he was a terrible flirter to lure him into the trap. He knew he was better than that. Maybe this Friday after his soccer practice, he could talk to him in person and express his true self.

In his opinion about the aftermath of Sol's prank, Robin took it very -ridiculously- seriously. Enough to pranked him in revenge onto a wall and wrapped the leopard in duct tape.

He was concerned when he left him alone in the abandoned room for the whole night, but he heard from Sergio by text that he went back to unwrap him free and safely resting in his dorm which gave him some peace and quiet that night.

...

Today was Friday, and Keanu's tail wagged like never before, trying to keep himself together of his excitement about his date with Hunter. Despite that he did not have any classes on Friday, he would spend his free time at the library to study and other researches for his project for architecture class. He started on an assigned group project by his professor with some fellow students he unofficially met, he barely knew them, but this group project would be his way to break the ice since he hardly knew anyone in the class since the semester started and Keanu was heavily invested in studying almost alone on other lectures as Hunter and his friends had their own lectures that were very unrelated to one another as Keanu was a freshman, and only Hunter was the only one attending history class with him.

Hunter, Milagros, Xavier, and even Broderick had offered Keanu some help at some point during last October, but Keanu had shown to be steadier and neater than Hunter, and Keanu ended up helping Hunter instead for history class.

At noon, Keanu brought a pamphlet brochure that covered everything about the park, from carnival games to amusing thrill rides. He shared this with Hunter during lunchtime and discussed what to do there.

"We can go to the minigolf course, then the carnival games, and the Ferris wheel," Keanu said in a calmed enthusiasm.

Hunter listened, as Keanu was the one who invited him and asked him out, it would be fair that he would pick what he wanted to do there and let him know.

"What about food?" Hunter asked.

"Well, there's a food court there and offers the usuals, I'm... kind of looking forward to the sweets."

Hunter chuckled, knowing his sweet tooth and his love for chocolates. "So, what about the thrill rides?"

"Uh, w-well, I..." Keanu turned uncomfortable, rubbing the back of his neck. "I don't know about those."

"You don't like riding on a roller coaster?"

"Uh-huh, and anything that is too thrilling, I don't think I can handle it. I'm too sensitive and I could faint before you know it."

"Oh, too bad... wait... but what is so different about the haunted mazed? You handled it okay."

"Hunter, I can handle a little jump scare but extreme rides can easily knock my wind out."

"Ah, I see..."

"Sorry if I disappointed you, I don't want to go in one."

"But the Ferris Wheel is okay?"

"It's gentle, Hunter." Keanu pointed it out.

"Right, right, so no drop tower, no roller coasters, no slingshots," Hunter counted with his fingers, "no... uh, what else?"

"I'm not even going to that swinging pirate ship thingy."

"Okay, but are there any exceptions?"

"Bumper cars are fine by me." Keanu shrugged. "Is there something else you have in mind you want to do there?"

Hunter thought, knowing that thrilling rides were out of the question, if he went in one, alone, Keanu wouldn't be equally enjoying it, standing outside the ride attraction alone and waiting for him in a long line just screamed selfishness.

Yeah, he had to skip the thrill rides, for Keanu's sake.

"I'll stick with your plan, then, I'll look forward to the carnival games like the high striker, you know, where you use a mallet to hit a leaver and hit the bell with a puck, that way I can show-off my strength." He curled one flexing arm and bounced his white eyebrows.

Keanu lightly laughed; Hunter would definitely strike the bell in one swing and win a nice prize.

"And how about rock-climbing?" Hunter asked.

"I think..." Keanu thought. "I think that one is okay."

"You're not afraid of heights?"

Keanu shook his head. "No, I'll give it a try."

"Are you fit enough to climb?"

"I swim in the pool back home regularly, so I'll be okay. So, do you have a pool in your apartment building?"

"No," Hunter shook his head, "not even a kiddie pool to swim in despite having a backyard for multi-purposes. So, how did your apartment get a fancy-looking pool?"

Keanu shrugged, but spoke, "I'm not sure, but Dad said the building was once going to be a hotel, but the owners went bankrupt and someone else bought it and turned it into an apartment building now. I guess they kept the original pool design. So, are we okay what are we going to do tonight?" Keanu smiled.

"Sure, we're gonna have a good time together." Hunter winked at him.

Keanu's tail had not stopped wagging behind his chair.

"So, what are you going to do this afternoon?" Hunter asked.

"Ah, I'm meeting up with my fellow classmates from architecture class for a group project," Keanu explained. "It's due for December as our final term."

"Have fun, then, I'm hitting the gym later." He drank his bottle of protein shake.

After lunch, Keanu's groupmates gathered in a private room in the library where they could discuss their final term project this semester. It was simply to build a scale model for demonstration and its purpose. They would have to show their work at a convention-like science fair at the end of this semester.

His groupmates were a caracal named, Joseph, and two humans named Urwin and Yestin. They all agreed to build a skyscraper model for the project. Keanu had shown his drawing skills to give them an artist impression of the building and how it would look like, he could make more if they weren't satisfied with the first drawing he made, he could find more inspiration from other iconic buildings. From modern, classic, to totally out of a sci-fi movie. Urwin suggested keeping it simple to the present which Keanu obliged.

Keanu's major task was to write a description about the proposed building and its purpose for a small city like Rexville and how it would greatly impact the city's economy in terms of jobs, tourism, residence, and its landscape as part of Rexville's skyline.

Good thing Urwin had been all sociable and acted as a leader to Joseph and Yestin to break the ice and do their own task as Joseph would also write a description about the building and get the materials to build the model. Yestin would assist in building the model with Joseph, while Urwin would check on them and help the model on every Friday meeting.

Keanu had fun today, and it was nice meeting them after concluding everything they were going to do for their final project this December.

He packed his things, waved goodbye to his groupmates, and left the library to the tram station.

The walk was uneventful but saw how a particular ferret was looking at him from a small distance on a bench while talking to someone on the phone. His piercing eyes didn't let go of him and Keanu could only do was not look at him, the glare alone was very dense to feel.

Out of sight, Keanu arrived at the station with Hunter.

Soon this evening, Keanu would go out with Hunter to Sunshine Park as a date. This alone easily made him forget about earlier.

...

Hunter put on something nice this evening, a sleeveless green and white hoodie unzipped over a black t-shirt with white claw markings across his chest diagonally, dark gray jeans, and dark-tan ankle-high shoes. He checked himself at the mirror with confidence and left his bedroom toward the living room, it was almost time for his date.

His parents were at the kitchen, making dinner, they knew Hunter wouldn't be joining them for dinner tonight.

"Mom, Dad, I'm going out."

"Have fun, Hunter, try to impress him with the high striker," said his father. "That's what I did to impress your mother."

"Heh, I will," Hunter picked the car keys hanging on the wall.

"Is he coming to see you?" said his mother, extracting the spaghetti noodles from the hot pot.

"No, I'm going to pick him up across the street, I'm taking the car to drive there."

"Oh, I thought we could meet him for a short moment."

"Some other time, Mom, maybe after we finish the semester."

"I hope you're doing well this semester," said his father, stirring the tomato sauce on the pot, "you're better not be spending it looking for a mate."

"Well, Keanu asked me out, and I didn't do anything."

"He asked you out?" his mother said. "That's a first."

"Well, Keanu won those tickets from last Halloween, so there was little I could do. I didn't want to selfishly ask if I want to go out with him before his final decision. What if he wanted to spend it with his father or cousins?"

"Ah, that's understandable," said his father, "well, he asked you, so that means he is very interested, right?"

Hunter chuckled and nodded. "I'll be going. See you later."

"Have fun," said his folks.

Hunter descended to the underground parking basement via the elevator to find his father's gray SUV car. He texted Keanu that he would be picking him up in front of his building. He drove out of the parking garage, despite he was right across the street, he had to drive through the end of the boulevard and get around the roundabout, and finally stop in front of the Starlight Plaza where Keanu was waiting for him excitingly.

The arctic wolf wore his favorite purple hoodie jacket with a single light-blue stripe around his mid-torso, blue jeans, and gray sneakers. Hunter opened the door for him, and Keanu hopped in on the forward passenger seat next to Hunter.

"Are you ready?" Hunter said.

"Yeah," Keanu softly said but was excited.

Hunter drove the car forward through the streets. He set his phone's GPS map to locate the Sun Drench Piers. They could have taken the tram to the Piers, but Hunter was in the mood to borrow his father's car for some free riding.

During the ride, Keanu kept his hands together on his lap, sitting comfortably on the seat and buckled up. He turned at the driving Hunter who was very focused on the road ahead. Maybe it was in his head, but Hunter looked more handsome at the sight alone, it guiltily reminded him of that one picture from the magazine he bought, a muscled wolf-man in a tank top with one hand on the wheel and the other on the stick shift, the rippling arms made him melt and Hunter was in a familiar position, except that the car was automatic and Hunter had his hands on the wheel. Aside from that, Hunter's handsome features didn't disappoint Keanu.

Hunter glanced at him with those dreamy green eyes. "Excited?"

Keanu faced forward with a blush. "Yeah, I... I'm kind of in the mood for a chili dog."

Hunter chuckled and patted him on his shoulder. "We'll eat there soon enough. You hungry?"

"I'm saving my stomach for the park."

"Heh, me too."

Keanu was feeling he could be more open about himself and how he felt about Hunter now that they were on their first date together. He wanted to know more about his wolf. On Hunter's mind was also the same, he wanted to get to know more about Keanu Winters and have fun together.

They were going to have a blast, just the two of them.

Hunter pulled his car into a parking lot; they had arrived at their destination. The wolves stepped off from the car and sighted at the amusement park at the edge of twilight. The park's skyline was as alight from a combination of thrill rides attractions, the roller coaster, the Ferris wheel, the drop tower, the pirate ship, and many more. The distant screams of joy could be heard from their parking spot.

The park's entrance was as welcoming with multi-colored lights dazzling around the park's name, SUNSHINE PARK. There was a line for the ticket purchase, but Keanu had the tickets in his hand and could go over to the other line who had already purchased the tickets. The attendant guarding the entrance scanned the tickets before letting them come in.

And their date began.

Their surroundings in the park were as exciting as was on the outside. People wandered about exploring everything the park offered. Their first stop was to grab a bite to eat, so they walked to the food court area where a fast-moving line waited to make their order.

It was a good thing the food they made was that of fast-food service, so the guests could enjoy the rest of the evening than waiting too long in the line to eat something.

Keanu ordered a chili dog and Hunter a hamburger with drinks as they weren't planning to go to the thrill rides. They found an empty table next to the railing of the giant pier with a view of the southern side of Rexville's lightened skyline and the sea being reflected beneath it. Keanu watched as he ate his meal, it was a different angle he didn't expect to see but here he was.

When Keanu turned back to take another bite of his half-eaten chili dog, Hunter pulled his phone out and stretched his arm fully to the darkening sky, setting the camera to selfie mode.

"Smile~," Hunter cheerily said.

Not only Keanu could see Hunter smiling on the screen, but he was also in the picture with an opened mouth with a chili dog close to his maw and before he could do anything, Hunter had pressed the button on the screen.

Hunter laughed and showed Keanu the picture. "I didn't expect this, but this is a keeper."

The picture showed Hunter smiling with one thumb up and Keanu behind him across the table, holding his chili dog halfway to his opened maw, and his confused gray eyes staring at the camera before he could do anything. The perfect timing of photogenic seconds before disaster.

Keanu blushed at the awful pic. This was their first picture date...

"Don't post it, Hunter! It's awful!" Keanu cried.

"I won't, I'll take another."

It was hard to smile after that little stunt, Keanu had to rub his cheeks to brighten himself out to smile at the camera. The second picture turned out nice but a little forced on Keanu's part.

"So, where are we going after this?" Hunter asked.

"Ah," he picked his phone and checked his to-do list note app, "uh, to the minigolf course."

"Cool," Hunter nodded. "So, you like playing minigolf a lot?"

"My dad plays golf, the big ones, you know? He, in fact, joined a group with his colleagues for golfing. I kind of joined along and..." he shrugged, "I enjoyed it, and then there was minigolf. Have you played minigolf before, Hunter?"

"On video games," Hunter shrugged, "never tried the real thing by chance."

"So, that means I have a chance of winning!"

"What? Are you challenging me?" Hunter sneered, raising an eyebrow.

"...Maybe?" Keanu played with his fingers and looked away with a sheepish smile.

"Alright, let's go then."

They finished their meals and looked for the minigolf course, Keanu had the map of the park, and through their way, they saw other attractions up closer. The carnival games seemed very fun and offered a lot of grand prizes if scored higher points. Above them, a roller coaster track suspended twenty feet high, and just in cue, the train roared through in spiral and briefly rolled upside down with screaming passengers with hands spreading out upwards... or downwards.

They found the minigolf course with a bright sign displaying it in decorative seashells. The wolves stepped in and looked around. It had a nautical and marine life theme going on, each course had a unique feature that made the 18-hole golf course more fun, and it glowed in the dark.

An attendant welcomed them and gave them two golf balls and two putters. They were given a notepad to write down their scores if they felt like competing which Keanu took into consideration.

They waited for a pair of kids playing the first course which was the easiest to earn a birdie or a hole-in-one. The course was simply the shape of a keyhole, a straight line, and a circular end where the hole was placed right in the middle. A smiling statue of a mermaid laid on a rock on one side of the course.

"Do you want to go first, Hunter?" Keanu asked.

"Nah, you go first. I want to see what you're made of," said Hunter.

Keanu put his glowing green ball on the starting point, standing in place with his putter with both hands and testing his swings before pushing the ball to the hole. It was a gentle push and the ball rolled directly straight to the hole; Hunter must have blinked because the glowing ball just disappeared.

"What?" Hunter blinked again. "A hole-in-one?"

Keanu laughed. "This is the easiest course, Hunter, anyone can do it."

It was Hunter's turn, Keanu picked up his ball from the hole before he could swing his putter. He focused on the hole ahead, then his glowing orange ball and putter. He pulled it back and launched the ball, supposedly gently... it blew almost straight to the hole, but it missed it and hit the small barrier and rolled back to where Hunter was...

Hunter blinked in disbelief and Keanu snickered a laugh, covering his mouth.

Keanu assured Hunter, "You still have a Birdie if you try again."

But the ball was still away from the hole, Hunter tried again and gently swung the ball this time. This ball did make it near the hole about one foot away.

"You now have a Par at this turn," Keanu informed him.

Hunter made for the one-foot distance between the ball and the hole. He could not mess this time. He adjusted a little bit for a surefire measure to hit the hole and move on to the next course. He swung the ball gently, even more, this time and the ball stopped right on the edge of the hole...

Hunter's eyes boggled widely in disbelief.

"You now have a Bogey..." Keanu honestly said, writing it down on the note.

Hunter could not believe he was scoring badly on the first course like this, was he really terrible playing in real-life than in video games? He finally pushed the ball with the putter and ended his course. He scored a Bogey.

"I honestly thought I could play this at ease like in the video game," sighed Hunter.

"There are 17 more holes to go, Hunter," Keanu sheepishly smiled.

Hunter knew he was screwed, but he kept playing. Maybe he would warm up eventually and get a real hang of the game. And this was the first course, and the rest were going to be hard and challenging. It would be likely that Keanu would also face difficulties during their gameplay.

...

And boy they did because the following courses were ten times harder than the easiest course. Even if it looked like a piece of cake, the moving and non-moving obstacles proved a challenge to them. Hunter underestimated Keanu's golfing skills and he played like a pro even if he had difficulties and scored a few Bogeys.

On one course that required precision and timing, the four flashy electric eels moved back and forth, stopping the ball from both sides before reaching the hole. Hunter had lost it to a Triple Bogey and gave up. Keanu had a Par because the last eel on the right veered the ball off course from the hole, and on the second stroke, he missed the hole.

And finally, the 18th course, it was the mouth of an angler fish with nasty sharp teeth and glowing lights on its scales and the luring light to attract prey, especially to the glowing balls. There was an unpredictable interval as the mouth closed randomly before the ball could enter and blocked by the upper teeth.

Keanu went in first, he focused on the monster's mouth-biting habit. He had zero ideas on how to do this as it was more challenging than the whirling wind. He just swung the putter and see what would happen.

The ball went straight, the teeth chattering madly and not giving a break to keep it opened. Just as predicted, the ball got blocked from coming in and bounced slightly back a few inches.

It was Hunter's turn and he thought he could try something drastic and give a middle finger to the game as a whole. He placed his ball on the starting point and raised his putter...

"Hunter, what are you doing?" Keanu opposed.

Hunter swung the ball hard and the ball went up in the air and hit over the hungry monster's head. The constant movement acted like a catapult and launched the ball behind it further to the hole.

Keanu was speechless.

Hunter raised his fist in the air with the putter. "Woo-hoo! Finally!"

"I guess, that can work," Keanu muttered.

It was Keanu's turn, he was in close proximity at the mouth of the anglerfish, he hastily swung the putter, and the ball was finally fed to the hungry anglerfish. The ball came out from the other side and met next to Hunter's orange ball. Keanu was getting a Par while Hunter, potentially, a birdie if he did not mess it up.

Hunter took his turn and gleefully swung his ball into the hole, getting a Birdie.

"First birdie, Hunter, it's about time," Keanu said as he wrote Hunter's score. "Who knew being reckless can be effective."

"Don't knock it 'till you try it, right?" Hunter proudly said.

Keanu was the last to finish and scored a Par. With the results in hand, Keanu checked the scores. He won by a massive margin. That earlier stunt from Hunter made him feel better than sulking and suffering at the difficult 18-holes. So, to compensate Hunter, he made a decision.

"Let's now go to the rock-climbing wall."
